Hi, How can I make that when a new user signs up he gets a unique ID in the Accounts table and every time he adds a new record in other tables his ID shows in the column?

Hello!When I open the extension Page Designer, I cannot edit the preferences, i cannot do anything but close it.Any ideas?

We are experimenting with Airtable as a project management tool for our Graphic Design Firm. Working well so far, until we get to expense tracking. It’s easy enough to create a table to track individual expenses and link them to any open job in our “jobs” table, but when it comes to billing, we need a single document that captures ALL the expenses related to a job and presents them together in a report much like the attached “Cost Sheet”, which we currently produce manually for each job in Excel. Here’s what we need. I’d like to automate the Cost Sheet data entry process so that, at a push of a button, any member of my team can generate a pdf with this same info, and with data pulled from Airtable records. All the user would have to do is select a “job” and all expense records linked to that job would be gathered up and processed. So, forms just got the option “Collect respondent email addresses automatically (sign-in required)”. When this option is checked and people open the form URL, they will be prompted to sign in with Airtable or make an account. After that, they can fill in the form and the email address they used to sign in or to create a new account with, will be stored in a auto created “created by” field in your table. This opens up the possibility to let people change their data, using their email address as a unique identifier. When a record, let’s say a client record, contains an email address, you can crosscheck this with the auto filled in email address in the “created by” field mentioned above, by prefilling and hiding it in an email field in the form. Airtable work needed for ongoing development of various platforms communicating with Airtable. The below is one of many projects we are developing. BACKGROUND: We are using Airtable to track delays in time-sensitive projects with legal ramifications for time overruns. Each new record (documenting a delay caused by other outside collaborators) is currently being sent out via Zapier/Gmail with URLs in the body of the email to the entire table (via private link) and to the record itself. This is a good first step for notifying our clients and documenting the delays. But since this line of work has the potential to go legal if the projects go past their contracted completion dates, we need the emails to serve as proper documentation of the delays. The problem: Emailing URLs that point to dynamic data that can always be altered by us (as the Airtable database owners) wouldn’t give us a strong legal leg to stand on should contracts ever go to court. Posting this here for anyone else who might find it helpful. While there are some great extensions for geocoding, I needed to simply convert an address into latitude and longitude and had a hard time finding a script to do it in Airtable + Google Maps API. I found this awesome script but had to modify it to only run on a particular view so that it didn't hit the automation / script limits. Hi! I am brand new to Airtable (and admittedly, brand new to the tech world in general), so I wanted to share my first project and get some feedback/suggestions. Some background on the project: My dad’s company is built almost entirely out of google drive and he is wanting to start transitioning over to Airtable to automate some processes that are currently being done tediously by his HR team. One of these tasks is keeping employees’ contact info updated regularly. Right now, this is being done by HR reaching out to employees individually to see if their info has changed and then manually updating in google sheets. How to group rows by date so that groups are formed by day, without taking into account time. To get a group of October 4 with 2 rows and October 5 with 2 rows. I understand that the question is in the time display, but if you make a separate column with the formula DATETIME_FORMAT({Posting Time}, 'DD MM YY') and then group by it, then the program takes the date for text and sorts without taking into account the month, only by day.

I've gotten a lot of help from the community, and I'd like to offer something in return.  I was able to author a script that autonumbers a counter field for my detail records based on the group field of the parent record.  This is my first working script and I'm sure it has issues, so use carefully.  I'm sure better versions of this exist on marketplace or someplace, but I couldn't find.  I've submitted it to the marketplace, not sure if it's worthy of them listing it though.  It was a painful learning process to get working, but it does do what I need now. 🙂PS, I know airtable doesn't have a concept of "secondary key" (as in subject), but I think people like me that come from a SQL background might search on thatThe high level of this use case is I have a board meeting each month (Meeting is primary key of parent record). Airtable’s Script Editor is great, but one flaw that’s bothered me for a long time is how much space the side panels take up, especially on small screens. There’s no way to collapse them, and no way to resize them. Soooo, I spent a few hours writing a userscript with some absolutely insane CSS rules to fix this. Now, the side panels in the Script Editor are collapsed by default, and can be shown by hovering over the handlbars to the right and left. The script is designed to work in both the Scripting Extension, and in the Automations editor. I haven’t released the script publicly yet, as it’s currently written using some experimental CSS properties which allow the CSS rules to be less complex. However, I already figured out a version of the code previously that doesn’t use these experimental properties and is compatible with current browsers, so it would just take a little time to fix up the code before I can share it.
