Hello, Looking to create a system to track inventory, sales, expenses, events, and do accounting for a collectible trading card business. I've created all the basic functionality and now want aStreamlined inventory management system that tracks multiple purchases and sales of the same items at different prices.Cards are sold at specific events and want to be able to track and run reports to show what sold where, and basic analytics.Do basic accounting (which is simple in excel, but challenging in airtable) and reports.Potentially connect inventory to an external data provider to push and pull lists and look at recent sales for price comps. For in person sales, have a form on an ipad for people to enter personal information to join our database. I'm sure there will be more past this, but here are the main hurdles. Thank you,John

Hey everyone.Exporting Airtable manually as CSV and saving to Dropbox can be quite manual for an important systematic process that needs to happen regularly. In addition, enabling it with tools like Make and Zapier can also be fiddly. Here is a way of doing it in one click, all in one platform:https://www.csvgetter.com/blog/export-airtable-to-dropboxLet me know what you think!

Hello! Powersave - a chrome extension that allows to save to Airtable right from the browser, should now display a rich text editor for all text fields which have rich text formatting enabled. You can use markdown shortcuts in the editor and all Airtable markdown subset features are supported - bold text, italics, links, lists, headers, even checklists.Powersave can also update records as you browse so this can effectively be used for content management... I'm using it to manage content for my website as I click around now. But you can also use it for content audit, for example checking checkboxes on different pages.Happy to hear any feedback on this!
Hi everyone,I’ve been working on an overengineered but functional solution to send SMS reminders for my school’s classes. It’s a little unconventional, but it works for now! I’d love to hear any feedback or suggestions for optimising it further, especially from anyone with experience automating communications through Airtable. The Problem:We have hundreds of students across dozens of classes every day, and sending SMS reminders manually is no longer feasible. Hiring a communications manager isn’t in the budget yet, and solutions like Twilio are not cost-effective for us in New Zealand. The Current Workflow:Airtable as the Data Hub:Airtable stores all our class schedules, student rosters, and contact info.An automation sends an email 8 hours before each class, containing:The subject line: Key details like the class time, group name, and teacher. The email body: A list of student phone numbers.Generating SMS Content with ChatGPT:The email triggers an iOS Shortcut that:Extracts the subject l
Hi, After spending 20 years in the Salesforce community, I have moved on and have become enamored with Airtable. I am getting started in being an active part of this community and am sharing my efforts at scotthemmeter.com. I wanted to share my latest blog post which provides a workable example for obtaining Crypto prices from the Coinbase Pro API and populating it into Airtable. See the link below. https://scotthemmeter.com/2021/09/28/get-crypto-prices-with-airtable-scripts/ Hope you like it! Scott
I'm building a database for students in college. So the main table has Student ID, Name, Course 1, Course 2, Course 3, and so on, up to the highest number of courses a student is taking. I then want to create individual tables for each row in the main table in which I could report on student's progress in their respective courses each semester. Eventually, I want a reporting table with progress updates from all students that I can sort using semesters to report on students' progress in different semesters.I thought this should be the easiest thing to do but I have not been able to accomplish it. Can anyone point me to a guide or explain the main steps to do so. What are the limitations to this approach and is there a better way to do so?
I'm trying to use the trigger function in Airtable to determine the webhooks module in Make.com, but it's not working. I'm using the paid versions of both Airtable and Make.com. Interestingly, the same functionality works perfectly on another page in Airtable. I have no idea what the issue could be. What should I check to resolve this problem? Please help me.
The automation currently we are using only works on new records. Is there any way to push the automation to run on existing records in the same table? Right now, when form received, it will create new record. Goal is when form received, it will auto fill out the existing records in the table. Appreciate your help. Thank you!
Hey all!Wanted to share something we built: a plugin for connecting Gravity Forms to Airtable.Gravity Forms is one of the more popular form builders in WordPress, and we (Gravity Wiz) build plugins for Gravity Forms (yes, plugins for plugins, inception). If you build using Gravity Forms, this Airtable connection lets you send Gravity Forms data straight into Airtable and use Airtable's features with that data. We wrote a blog post about the connection here.If have questions, hit me with them. And I'd love to hear if there are any Gravity Forms builders in here. 😄
We are looking for help developing a platform for or lending business
I'm starting to get really good at the scripting thing and am really having fun with this platform. If you aren't paying for the upgraded plan to be able to use scripting, you should consider it. There are so many things that I have been able to fix or create that I couldn't with the general platform for general tasks. As I am building up a large number of automations, I sometimes have difficulty remembering what I may have done 2 weeks ago, etc. I have a paid ChatGPT account and asked it to document my code and to put it into dokuwiki format so I could host it on our wiki page for other team members to help debug, etc. It's pretty incredible how well it does it. You can see the output here: https://wiki.chattlab.org/code_breakdown for one of the sample cases. In another case, I asked it to look at the code and make a text based flowchart of it, and it gave me the block below. It's such a great tool to help document code and find issues.Start | v Load Inputs (Rec_ID, Meeti

Hey all! A few months ago I posted about the tool I built that lets you customize and embed Airtable data on any website.I've implemented the feedback I got from here (Thanks again!) and am excited to share a new template that lets turn Airtable records into a Logo Slider. This template is a great way to showcase logos from customers. You can:Adjust the speed of the sliderTurn the logos grayscale or colorPause the slider on hover (this can be turned off)Add hyperlinks to the logos >> This is done via the action menu in the sidebarThe template is free to use!All you need to do is, head to www.shareables.aiChoose the Logo Slider template that you can plug your Airtable data into.Use the editor to customize it to fit your needs. When you're ready, install the iframe into your websiteAll feedback appreciated! Here's an example of the slider (and demo here too)
Hey Airtable community! I'm new to Airtable and still learning all the ins and outs. I'd like to create a grid view (for my leadership) that pulls from multiple grids across different bases. Is this possible? If not, is there another way to think about solving for this use case? Appreciate the help!Sarah
A question arose recently that’s come up a few times in the past: is it possible to give form users the ability to either pick an item from a predefined list or add their own “other” option, and have manually-added options actually appear in the list for later form users? For most of Airtable’s existence so far, this wasn’t possible (at least not without delving into the API, and even then I’m not completely sure that was doable). However, it can be done using Airtable’s automation feature. Here are two methods you can use: Method 1: Single Select Field Most of the time this question comes up, the user is probably thinking of using a single select field. While this will work, it comes with a couple caveats that actually make the second method preferable IMO. That said, some of the details that I share here will also be used in the second method, so I still recommend reading through this one. First, define your single select options as you wish, with an option named something like “Othe
