I have been testing out the recent Display names for linked records feature and realized that there is a flaw in the design although Support confirmed that it was working as intended. What I’m seeing:The linked record picker correctly shows the configured display name.The linked table’s Primary Field is populated for all records.Visibility conditions evaluate correctly at runtime.However, when configuring Visibility Conditions on forms or record detail layouts, the selected linked record values appear as “Unnamed” in the configuration UI. Ever since Airtable changed their Attachment URL expiry window to 2 hours, I had to setup automations using Make to upload files to S3.This worked great, but I recently build a custom extension to get this to work without using Make.So, I started building an Airtable extension to bridge this gap. The goal is to keep it all inside the Airtable UI (see the screenshot of what I have so far): You select your attachment field. The extension mirrors the file to a permanent bucket in the background. It writes the non-expiring CDN URL back to a field of your choice.

Producer/instructor is a 30+ year veteran TV gameshow producer in the US and UK with a background in computer programming and game design. Hi, We’re currently running our business using a software package called Squeegee, but we’ve reached the point where it doesn’t allow us to scale effectively. We’re now looking to build stronger internal systems using Airtable and modern automation tools. I have sent this as feedback to airtable, though I don’t expect a useful response. Partially I’m venting here, but I’m also curious about where the rest of the community sits on this (and if anyone “closer” to airtable has meaningful insight).For several years, the airtable user community has complained about the dysfunctionality of the mobile apps. A large reason we invested in building systems with airtable was the mobile apps. For 3 years, we've accepted that it has "quirks," but that Airtable was working on it.However, we've seen very little progress in this space. The apps are barely functional, which has complicated our workflow. We use airtable "in the field." However, it frequently fails to update records (i.e. you create a record, or add text/numbers to a field in the airtable app, only to find out several hours later those changes weren't saved). Hello! This is a repost from the AI Incubator I was a part of at the end of 2025.I just wanted to follow up on the AI Plays webinar, quite a few people were interested in the custom interfaces but were not entirely sure what they were capable of and how to generate them. Now I can’t find exact prompts, when I’ve been testing I’ve kind of just given a vague explanation of what I’ve wanted the interface to do and then iterated and fine tuned with specific prompts to make changes to the interface. From my understanding, Custom Interfaces use React UI Component which is essentially JavaScript and then uses a Tailwind CSS to control styling and layout. That is the extent of my code knowledge at the moment but its pretty powerful and can make some really pretty interfaces, and aesthetics are my favourite thing to play with 😂.
