Hi All! Google Tables Offers Dynamic filtering of linked records. Some People Refer to this functionality as cascading drop downs, conditional selects, dynamic linked record filtering. This has been a feature many people have been asking for since airtable launch. Given the google eco system, I may very well jump ship. Take notes airtable.
Hey everyone, I just started learning Airtable scripts and I wanted to share my first project. This script uses the free Radar.com API to lookup a valid address from a partial address string, and saves the first matching result back to the table with individual fields for each component of the address. Just add the Script extension and paste in this script, then fill out the settings pane with your API and field names. FeaturesSkips rows that already have a complete addressCaches results while looping over the table, then performs a bulk update to increase performanceSplits bulk update into batches of 50 to avoid issues on large datasetAPI error handlingHere's the script:let cfg = input.config({ title: 'Radar.com API Address Validation', description: 'Validates addresses using Radar.com API. Requires an API Key from Radar.com.', items: [ input.config.text('radarApiKey', { label: 'Radar.com API Key' }), input.config.table('selectedTable', { label: 'Table to use', descri

I tend to have a number of Airtable views open, each with a different focus. However, the default Airtable only says (Table Name) - Airtable. I’ve written a Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey script that will change the title to (Current View Name) / (Table Name) - Airtable Note: you will need either the Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey plugin/extension to use this script. Also, since this is an unofficial script, it may (likely) break with a future update to Airtable. // @name Airtable View Name as Title // @namespace https://airtable.com/ // @version 0.1 // @description Sets the title of Airtable pages to the View name // @author AndyLin // @match *://*.airtable.com/tbl* // Airtable already loads jQuery // @require https://gist.github.com/raw/2625891/waitForKeyElements.js // @grant none // ==/UserScript== //var $ = window.jQuery; //Airtable already loads jQuery waitForKeyElements ("#table div.ml1.big.stronger", setTitle); function setTitle (viewNameNode) {

Hi everyone, just wanted to leave my newest video here about the one script that I'm using in all of my Airtable bases: A script to clean up records!Let me know what you think and if it brought value to you 🙂 I'm posting multiple times per week, so subscribe if relevant for you.
We’ve built an Airtable Tableau (Web Data) Connector. I’ve seen multiple posts in the Airtable / Tableau forums about connecting the two tools, so I thought this might be useful.The main difference between our Connector and others (including Airtable’s own) is that ours supports the full range of many-to-many relationship types, including Multiple Linked Record fields and Multiple Users fields. You can build Tableau reports off of your Airtable data even when your Base contains these many-to-many relationships.Other points of interest:ETL built specifically for Airtable - Our Connector was built from the ground up for Airtable, so its Extract, Transform, Load process prepares Airtable data for immediate consumption in Tableau.Data filtering at the source - It’s super easy to specify which tables and views you export, so you don’t have to waste time filtering out data in each Tableau report you create.100% secure - Because of Tableau’s unique WDC architecture, all of your data flows dir
Hi, I am working on a historical research that deals with a timespan of 500 years. Now I want the timeline and Gantt to display that timespan with subdivisions of 100 / 50/ 10 years. The UI allows me only a max span of 5 years. Any ideas? Thanks, Gerhard
Hi everyone,I just had a very strange case. I have an automation that has run for days without any problem (9 runs no failure). It's a simple "repeat update" after a "find" to copy a computed field into a link field, in order to ensure the connection. I've done such automations in many circumstances without any difficulty nor any problem.Today one run failed : 3 records out of 6 were updated correctly, others failed with the comment - Field "Opération" cannot accept the provided value: Cannot modify a computed field. -.I tried to rerun the very same automation ; all 6 succeeded !!! Of course the update was exactly the same for the 2 runs, and each time same content for the 6 records. Thus I have no idea of where to investigate to mend if needed.Did anyone encounter such a problem ? Any clue on what to look at to prevent this from happening again ?Many thanks in advance !
Hey,I need someone to create a script which basically does what the Create child records does but in reverse. So, I need to create a parent record from child records.The workflow would be as follows:We upload child records as CSV or XLSX into AirtableThe child records will have a column with an identifier which indirectly links them togetherBased on this identifier and some other information, we will need to create a parent record and link the child records to it.The scope should be pretty simple. We will also need to move over some more data from the child records, but it will always be the same data in all children, so taking it from one single child is sufficient. The only thing is to loop all children into the same parent creation so we do not create too many parents.If that is something you feel able to do, please reach out to me.

Workshop on the use and possibilities of Airtable - hi I'm Samanta, executive manager at Ajor, a brazilian association focused in enhancing emerging media in Brazil. I'm testing with my team the use of Airtable as a tool for collecting external data (such as audience survey forms and feedback), internal data (program and project dashboards) and data visualization as well. As I'm not up to date with the tool, especially in terms of integration, automations and interfaces, I'm looking for someone VERY experienced in Airtable for a training cycle for the team. Portuguese speakers are preferred, but I might be able to get a translator (EN-PT or Spanish-PT) for the workshops. Contact: samanta.docarmo@ajor.org.br

EDIT: the issue turned out to be caused by Slack - see this postI use Airtable forms for my employees to submit reports in my business. Prefilling those forms with all of the relevant data is amazing as it speeds up the workflow, gives my employees a better user experience, and gives me cleaner data. I send these forms out to my employees in Slack using Make automations.I recently came across an issue with a new form. I was receiving employee submissions that were missing quite a bit of data that should have been prefilled. After a week of pulling my hair out, I finally realized the problem: many of the fields in this form have field names that contain a space character in the name e.g. "Checklist A". My URL prefill formula was using the `+` character to replace the space character e.g. "prefill_Checklist+A=value"In all of my testing on my laptop, the prefill URL's worked perfectly. Problem is, all of my employees are submitting these forms on their phones. 95% of them are on iOS. I fi
I recently added two new scripts to my Automation Helper Scripts, based on recurring situations that I keep seeing in this community.sumTwoNumbers. This script adds two numbers together and outputs the sum. Use this script to increment a number field without using a formula field that just adds one to an existing field.useAlternativeValue. This script inputs a main value and an alternative value. If the main value is not blank, the script outputs the main value. If the main value is blank, the script outputs the alternative value. This script shines when you want to use an alternative value when the result of a "Find Records" action is blank.If you have already purchased my Automation Helper Scripts, you can get these new scripts by logging into your Gumroad account.These Automation Helper Scripts are fairly short. Most are only a handful of lines of code. They are designed for the following types of people.You just want working code and purchasing these helpers is faster and easier th
Hi Community,Does anyone else experience problems with automations? my all current automations started failing around 7PM Berlin time.I getThere was an unexpected error while executing your script.it also doesn't matter from the script content. when rerun, it stays "In progress" and eventually fails.Regards,Nikolai
Hello Airtable Community,I am working on a project where I have three tables in Airtable:Trip Table: Contains all possible trips a participant can go on.Participant Table: Includes a multiple linked record field for trips that a participant is signed up for.Trip Junction Table: Holds individual records showing a participant and the single trip they are on.I am facing a challenge with setting up an automation. My goal is to automatically create a record in the "Trip Junction" table when a participant adds another trip to their account.Here's the scenario:When a participant selects a new trip in the "Participant" table, I want a new record to be created in the "Trip Junction" table that links this participant with the newly selected trip.However, I am unsure how to set up this automation, especially how to identify the newly added trip and trigger the creation of a new record in the "Trip Junction" table.Could anyone provide insights or guidance on how to set up this automation? Any tips
