This is how you can calculate the number of unique values in a field in a linked record. I couldn’t find a previous post on this when I was looking for help (apologies if I just missed it) so I thought I’d put one here for others to find. Short answer: you can create a Rollup field specifying the linked table and the field you want to count unique vales in, then define an aggregation formula as follows: COUNTA(ARRAYUNIQUE(values)) The tool tips for the aggregation formula don’t make it clear that you can do this. It may appear that you are limited to the simple formulas they suggest, but this is not the case. I haven’t tested it to see how far you can go, but nesting ARRAYUNIQUE() within COUNTA() definitely works. What is this used for? In my case, I have a table of Locations where we have equipment (e.g. Chicago Office, London Office, etc.), and I have a list of Assets that tracks all the individual pieces of equipment. I also have an Asset Type table that tracks the basic information
Hi, I am building an Airtable solution for a client who requires automated reporting capabilities. The solution captures the data from so-called ELOM assessments of young children (50-69) months: http://elom.org.za. We are using SurveyCTO to capture the data in the field and Integromat to get in into Airtable. In Airtable, ELOM submissions are linked to specific projects (e.g. a NGO which does ELOM assessments of children in pre-school). At the end of a project we would like to be able to click a button and output an automated report with a few graphs. We usually do thus sort of things in Stata or R, so I have an idea how to do it in Airtable scripting using output.markdown and Vega-lite but I don’t do JavaScript and it would take me a long time to make it work. Anyone here interested?

Hi all – I’ve been working on a project for quite a while now and am excited to show you all. It’s called Stacker, and it allows you to create portals on top of your Airtable with login for your users and private data. You can theoretically build any UI you like, but for now I’m trying to get it working well for simple user portals before going for anything too complex. Is there anyone out there who has a use case around giving your customers an authenticated web app where they can self serve? I’d love to chat to you if so, and maybe see if you’d like to take part in helping us test the product before I release it to the world. If so, email me at michael@stacker.app You can check out our landing page at stacker.app/portals Would love to hear your thoughts! :grinning:
Here is a way to automatically pull information from airtable into Excel via power-Query using a bit of coding. If you are looking to just copy and paste the code you need without much explanation, ignore the details :slightly_smiling_face: Details SECTION 1- CONNECTING EXCEL TO POWERQUERY- The first issue a user may run into while trying to get data to automatically feed into Excel is creating an authenticated connection to Airtable from Excel’s powerQuery. The following code will be used in a later step, but it is given here as a preview of the code that is chiefly responsible for the data connection to airtable’s api. Source = Json.Document(Web.Contents(“https://api.airtable.com/v0/[PartialAddressToYourBase]/[NameOfYourTable]”, [Headers=[Authorization=“Bearer keyXXXXXXXXXXXXXX”]])) You will be replacing “[PartialAddressToYourBase]”, “[NameOfYourTable]”, and the “keyXXXXXXXXXXXXXX” with your particular information at a later step. Now even if a query were created with its sole
Hello I am an indie filmmaker and I am working on a film project. I am looking to develop a unique and a companion workflow application for FCPX. Based on my findings, there is no dedicated application to what I am looking for. The application involves, database management, handling of audio, video, images and metadata. After much detail research, I realise that Airtable might be the perfect database management platform that I am looking for for the backend. The are couple of ways to my problem. The old school and new school. The old school way might be parse xml from FCPX into CSV and import that into Airtable. But I am thinking of a new school ways and thinking of the possibilities that it might open up. The concept for my app is simple. Despite being simple I believe that the engineering could be a little challenging. I also believe is it can be groundbreaking idea in the filmmaking community and can revolutionise future workflows. Apple have published documentation for FCPX Workflo
Now that the submission period for the Custom Blocks contest is over, I’d like to share my custom block for check-out/check-in systems! This block is a customizable wizard which, in its most basic form, allows users to select a Unit record and create a new linked record in a Log table detailing when that record was “checked out” with relevant fields pre-filled to save time. The wizard just as easily allows users to check that unit back in to close out the log and make that unit available for selection once more. Advanced features include tracking a unit’s condition over time (i.e. the unit was in “great” condition when it was checked out, but was in “poor” condition when it was checked back in), and the ability to enable an Items table for bases structured where each unit is an instance of a type of item (i.e. 5 “Macbook Pros”, 6 “Samsung 32-inch TVs”, etc.). This block will make day-to-day data entry for inventory managers, IT departments, librarians, equipment rental businesse
Hi There, Please can someone assist I am having difficulty with the Airtable ‘New Record’ and Zoom Webinar Registrant integration using Zapier. Kind Regards
I found myself in a spot where I wanted to get JIRA to post data to airtable without another service like Zapier in the middle. In fact, this does require ScriptRunner. However, if you’ve got airtable, scriptrunner and jira, then here is a link to a Gist that will get you off the ground. So, you can basically add a new ScriptRunner listener, paste in this code and setup the constants. gist.github.com https://gist.github.com/nafeger/dc754f59645120df3f5e030dd0166067 JiraScriptRunnerToAirtable.groovy import groovy.json.JsonBuilder import groovyx.net.http.ContentType import groovyx.net.http.HTTPBuilder import groovyx.net.http.Method import org.apache.log4j.Logger import org.apache.log4j.Level import groovyx.net.http.* /** Change these based on api.airtable.com */ This file has been truncated. show original
My company is looking for a freelancer to help modify our database, set up automations, and possibly integrate Airtable with another database we use. It would be great if there is a freelancer out there with experience doing these types of things. The database is for a law firm that needs to keep track of deadlines and tasks for a few hundred cases.
PLEASE CONTACT: tiri@create.green We are building massive 3D printers (3000x5000x2000mm) to 3d print emergency shelters for Green Camps that serve as pop-up BnBs and eco-retreats for our regenerative programs (reforestation festival, Dhamma retreats etc) - we also want to 3D print our shelters for refugee camps and people who really need shelter, equiping them with massive printers and teaching them how to print from waste plastics. We are just about to launch a crowdfunding campaign to raise the money to buy the 3D printer and enough bio-materials to print our first prototype structures here in the UK. I have built our site http://www.create.green and would like a memberstack integration (already drafted here and would like it that when people signup on the different tiers of membership that their “account” (airtable entry) reflect the number of nights stay their membership has earned. £30 a month membership earns one night stay a month. £50 membership earns two nights stay a month.
We are currently using the calendar view to schedule our festival with over 20 venues and 450 shows across one weekend. It would be perfect if were were able to have a calendar view where we could see each venue next to each other and so that each venue staying in its own “column” instead of all of the different Venues being all over the place. Would this be able to be done if we built a custom app for this feature? Where would we go to find an airtable expert to build us this?
I am trying to achieve the following basic automatic backup feature (of data): When a new record is created in a specific table, I’d like to use the new automation feature to trigger a script that exports a CSV of that table (and a certain view). The script should be saved in a specific dropbox folder and subsequent export should simply overwrite the previous CSV export. Could someone write that script for me? I’d be thrilled if someone could solve this for me. Please contact me so that we can talk about a price for that service. Thank you so much in advance. – Markus
I’ve been working on a time tracker automation that allows my team to update a status field and kicks off a time tracker in the background so they don’t have to worry about tracking their hours. The solution I came up with works well for me, but I have read through a few options from @Justin_Barrett and @kuovonne here Record timer script and here Time Tracker Block + Button to start? The Setup I have 6 fields Current status Current status change time previous status Previous status change time total time Current status = Previous status Check A view is set up with a filter based on the field “Current status = Previous status Check” if true then filtered out, if false then they appear in the view. When they enter the view it runs an automation that runs the following script (apologies not sure on correct formatting for the forum) //This is to track the time on the AE work, it covers both the Online and Prep, it compares the current and previous status if a mismatch it checks if anyth
Hi, Seeking an airtable consultant who can also code. Languages: node.js, serverless & AWS Lambda. Would be ideal to also have strong natural sense of UX/UI. Thanks, Jordana
FOMDM is a ministry that helps pastors meet the needs of the men in their church. We have created a growing database of resources available - now need to develop a way to Search & Display options. I.E. A pastor asks for resources related to Anger… We then provide him with a list of books, bible studies, DVD, MP3’s, message recordings and etc.
Good day, We are looking for a good consultant/developer business-oriented who can help us building a full process between all our touchpoints (Mailchimp, forms. Google ads and Facebook/Instagram ads, Zendesk online chat). Thank you Best. JA
The latest update (4.1 as of 10/13/20) makes the date field almost unusable.
Hey Guys, We are a vacation rental property management company that use Airtable for data keeping. Our model requires slightly more complicated than what we have on Airtable as solutions as we have the following layers: 1- Revenue table (bookings and collections that took place last month) 2- Fees (Our fees from bookings that took place) 3- Expenses (Expenses that we paid on behalf of owners and that we need to deduct from their net earnings) Our monthly Reports to our clients goes as follows: Summary page Revenue page Expense Right now, what I do is make all the data processes on Airtable, connect it to ClicData and then make a PDF for each client for one of these reports. Finally, I compile the 3 reports into one Statement PDF Report which I put in Airtable again and its automatically emailed to my clients. I would like to automate this part. I am thinking of a script that allows me to do the following: 1- Connect all my tables based on a common unique field (account unique ID) 2-
Now that the Custom Blocks have been publicly announced, I wanted to show a block that I have built. :new_moon_with_face: Name: API Connection It can fetch data from a JSON API and populate your table with the data. :mag: Where is the block? On github - https://github.com/saas-developer/airtable-api-connection :video_camera: Demo :studio_microphone: I also have a course on building custom blocks on Udemy (I hope its not against the rules to post this) :dollar: Hope this inspires your hackathon block and you get the $10,000
Hi Airtable Community! I’m looking for some help with creating an automation or script (I don’t know if it’s that complicated). I need the record called Date of RTL to be updated WHEN the record called "RTL = YES. The date that needs to populate is the date in which the condition becomes true in RTL. Example: A5 Liquor was RTL=YES on 8/17/2020, which I manually selected. Right now it’s a manual process and as you can see, I’ve forgotten to update it a few times. It does not have to retroactively update the Date of RTL, but would be helpful. Cheers!
Hi there, My name is Ben and I’m a community manager for a US based tech brand. I’m looking to set up a comprehensive database of published reviews & coverage of our products, full list of our important contacts, and a tracker for products we’re looking to send out to publications. I have somewhat limited experience here although I do have a decent base for this project set up. I would love to talk more regarding specifics as soon as possible!
Looking to hire an expert in database design (a good understanding of Airtables new sync feature is a plus) and an expert in writing script. I like to learn and understand some of the basics, but occasionally need help to to get going in the right direction instead of figuring out by trial and error :slightly_smiling_face: Thanks
