I am seeing if this is possible in any way.INTERFACE SETUPTop = filters (applied to timeline view)Middle = timeline view of Table ABottom = grid view of Table BOBJECTIVEUsers can apply filters on top, to narrow in on timeline view if/as neededUsers can then click on a Table A record in timeline view, which then filters the grid view of Table B records to show only those linked to the selected Table A record If this is not possible, then I was hoping to do a workaround using interaction via a button within the timeline interface. The idea would be to add a button within the Table A that can be exposed in the popup window when a user selects a record in the Timeline view. Then either:Idea 1: Button click copies record selected and pastes in the filter "search" key I setup for Table B grid view?Idea 2: Open same interface but with a filter applied to the bottom grid view. I know that URL's contain filter data, as I am able to modify filters and share that URL for someone else to open
Hello, I've created an automation that is (or planned to be) triggered by an interface button. However when adding a button in the interface designer, and choose the 'Run Automation' option, the button 'Source' field doesn't populate with any table name. Please Advise.
I have a base with multiple tabs that have links between them. Tab 1 is Digitization Projects. Tab 2 is Scheduling.Tab 2 Scheduling is made up of individual task records. Each of these links back to a project record on Tab 1. The individual task records on Tab 2 all have start and end dates. From within the Record Summary Interface, I want to be able to select a single Digitization Project (from Tab 1), and have a timeline element display only the records and dates (from Tab 2) that are linked to that project.I have not been able to figure out how to filter things to allow this. Right now, it shows me ALL the records from Tab 2, whether or not they're associated with the Digitization Project (from Tab 1) that I've selected in the Record Summary Interface.Screenshots attempting to illustrate below. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you!Digitization Projects (Tab 1)Scheduling (Tab 2)Record Summary with Timeline element visible but not working as I'd like it to.
It looks like it might not be possible to create a form that accesses a linked table, then creates a tertiary record per attached.
Hi,I want to be prompted to fill or check some fields when I click on a field.so for example, the cell title is "pc", when I click on a field of that cell, I want to be prompted to type how much ram, ssd storage, tick a cpu manufacturer ...
Hi! I’m creating an interface for my client using the record review. When viewing one of the records’ linked records, it unfortunately shows all fields of that linked record, includin those I have hidden in the linked records views. To make it more practical: I created a brand review (record review). Every brand shows their respective deals (linked records). When I expand one of the deals it shows all of the deals, this is not so in the table view. This behavior is only in the Interface. Is this a bug? Is there a solution. I really don’t want my client to see all the hidden fields in this interface view.
Loving the new lists hierarchy feature. So Awesome! This is great for creating task lists for my team, while allowing to show additional project info about each task list. Love it. This works in most scenarios except....I have a dashboard page in my interface that has a filter in place that shows only tasks for the current user that are due today. This is a visible filter element because I want users to be able to adjust that timeline as they see fit. For users to be able to check off tasks as complete I also need to make the element editable, which is fine, but then this gives users the option to add tasks, also fine.... except: My problem is that these tasks then get filtered out automatically before a user has the chance to fill the whole row of info. There is a warning that says it will filter once you click a new row, but it filters when clicking on any field within the new record. ANNOYING!Either edibility needs more functionality to specify what exactly is editable (ie, having t
I have a lookup field on my clients table that lets me know what type of service they received. This is a lookup from a multiselect (the client can get more than one type of service in a single session). I need a pie chart to show me how many clients received specific services. Is there a way to filter out only the categories that I want from the lookup field?Ex:Client----ServiceSam -----Zoom, Customization, TrainingEd ------- Training, Customization I want a chart with only Customization and Training numbers
Never have I faced such an illogical design decision in recent memory. I'm furious. I got an email saying that something was wrong with their interface and they couldn't view certain linked records, which is when I found this change. I can't even find the email where you guys talked about this. I designed interfaces, and with some update they are all broken. Expanding a record takes you to some random view used from another element in the design, instead of the table's view that it is sourcing from that you're trying to expand (just like evvvvery where else in AT). Why the heck isn't it using the view from the source table in the element? I have to redesign all interfaces because of this, and each table that is attached to it. It's like starting from scratch, all over again. And, with multiple views, I have to hand design that for each one because they can't simply be duplicated. And don't get me talking about the snapping and resizing behavior that is infuriating
Is it possible to configure this kanban element in an interface to start default collapsed?
I'm trying to configure a bar chart in interface designer to show the count of each choice from a multiple choice field. For example, if the choices are: dog, cat, birdAnd I have respondents that selected:respondent 1: catrespondent 2: cat, birdrespondent 3: dog, cat, bird I'd expect to see a bar chart that has values :Dog1Cat3Bird2Instead, Airtable's barchart interface counts these responses as:cat1cat, bird1dog, cat, bird1 Is this a limitation of the interface feature, or is there a way to display the count of each choice in a multiple choice field?
I would like to toggle the content of an entire interface by having a project selected at the top level via a record picker (possibly in the menu bar). The goal is to update the information on each interface page, so we can quickly move from project to project within one interface.Right now, I have to duplicate interfaces, and as I continue working through the bugs, I have to recreate and reassign filters to each interface.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Absolutely silly issue, and probably way, way down on the bottom of the list, but...The new Lists feature, on Interfaces, doesn't take on the same grey background as the other sections, and it is KILLING my vibe.Any chance this is going to be able to be turned grey like everything else, or must I be subjected to this aesthetic nightmare in perpetuity?
I've created a list view in an interface and when I set the filter to "Viewers Records Only" it pulls up some of the records, but not all. Anyone else having that issue?
Context: My base is set up into three tables: Videos, Scenes, and Footage. Since some shots of footage may appear in more than one video, the Scenes table is functioning as a junction to preserve the shot chronology unique to each video. I'm trying to create an interface for planning a video with fields linking to corresponding Scenes and Footage. Issue: I can't figure out how to get the footage record picker to show pre-existing records that aren't already linked to the scene. I have no filters on the record picker.
Hi,im making a dashboard and using the Number element to show data. The options for "Summary type" seems to be missing "Checked"? Why is that? Some of the fields have been checked, some not. See image:I want to show one Number for Checked and another Number for Unchecked.
Dear All,When displaying a buton field, linked to an URL, within a grid in a interface, clicking on this buton in the grid takes you to the new URL in the same tab.If we display the actual URL link in the grid, or set it up via a long text field, then clicking on that links takes you to the new URL, but in a new tab.Is there a way to have a link in a long text field that takes to you to the new URL without opening a new tab?Is there a parameter to add to the URL?Thank youPascal
Hello! I've been working with many interfaces, and there's an area in Airtable homescreen that is called "My Interfaces", its showing me a few of them. Is there a way for me to choose which of my interfaces are shown there?
Need to have the top values of a list in a graph, without using filters cause I need it to be updated automatically, any idea?!
Hi all, I created separate interfaces before I understood the Interface Page feature of Airtable. I would now like to effectively import or duplicate these interfaces as pages in a master interface. Is there any way to do this without recreating them from scratch as new pages? They are all very complicated and this will take me a lot of time! Many thanks for any tips. Gill
I'm excited to play with the new List views. One thing I noticed is when you hover over a record and an image field expands, this enlarged image is cut off by the width of the column. Any way to fix that? Not hovering over the record:Hovering over the record:
Is there any way to embed a Gantt on my interface?
Basic interface page is a grid, listing parents. I can open a parent record in detail view and see all the rec’s info there, including linked children. So far so good. What I want to do at this point is click on the pill representing a linked child (on the parent’s detail view) and open a detail view for the CHILD. You can do this in classic Airtable: Seems like this OUGHT to be possible because, when I select the Linked Children field on the parent detail page, the options panel on the right offers a toggle that is labeled “Allow users to open record details”. But I cannot get it to toggle ON. Does this not work? What am I missing? William
I've got a Grid element in my Interface that shows a series of jobs.Of the 8 fields showing, I only want people to be able to change one (Status). In the Data tab, I can choose Field Permissions for the Status field, but in the Interface I can only make the whole Grid element 'Editable' or 'View Only'.Am I missing something here? How can I lock the Grid element and only make the Job Status field editable?
Hello!I'm the Owner of a Workspace and can edit Permissions Levels easily in my Base. However, when I try to do the same in the Interfaces I have that are tied to this Base, I only get greyed out boxes on the far left side for other Creators.I am able to adjust the permission levels of those who are Editors & Read-Only.I've seen other Creators be able to change those Permission levels though. Is it because they invited them? And am I not able to make adjustments across the board as an Owner? Thanks for your time!
