Hello! I am creating an Interface as part of a complex project management endeavor. Multiple users of the interface will be interacting with records to change various sub-statuses on parts of the record in their workflow. When someone is reassigned to a record because it's "their turn" to work on it, it would be nice if I could have an interface element that showed all of the record's Activity history (just like you see when you expand a record from the data grid). Example:Bob changes one of the status fields of this record from "Needs Review" to "Needs Editing" and assigns back to the project manager to now assign an editor. The PM, Sally, comes in and says "Ok I can see that this has been assigned to me but what changed? I can see the last person who modified this record is Bob, and I think he was reviewing [aspect] of this project but I can't remember which aspect he was working on."It would be nice in this scenario if Sally could see the "Activity" that exists in an expanded r
I have a base where one of my tables is transactions (primary column) where there is a revenue column, date column, and other pertinent information. If I wanted to view revenue by month, that's super simple in views and I could see the average at the top if I changed sum to average. All fine and dandy but if I wanted average monthly revenue in a number element in Interfaces, there seems to be no way of doing that easily. I feel like a grouping or bucket function in the number element settings would make perfect sense but the best I can do now is average revenue per transaction and that's not what I want. Any suggestions welcome.
Designing an interface focused on projects. In this client's case, projects can have multiple tasklists, then a tasklist can have multiple tasks.I have Projects table, Tasklists table, and Tasks table. Appropriate links are setup. I'd like an elegant way to lay this out in one screen using interfaces. The closest I could come was to use a record picker for Projects, then nest a new sub-record picker for Tasklists, then have a grid for Tasks and connect that to Tasklists data source. However it's not ideal for a number of reasons....1) the sub-record picker appearance labeling has no options for customization, it is locked onto the primary field only. Since I construct the PF in this table and others, the name there ends up being not as user friendly.2) the sub-record picker shows only one item, it's essentially a single select drop down, as opposed to a scrolling element like the parent record picker.I'm not totally tied to this idea in case other ideas are out there. Another idea
Hello!I have a two workspaces that I work with on airtable. On one workspace, I have different events that I log that I want for my backend/internal. One the other workspace, I have a public shared calendar that anyone can view. Is there a way in my internal workspace to have an option to choose to share a specific event with public shared calendar workspace? For example, I have two different events I am logging in my internal workspace, Event A and Event B. Event A is an internal event that is just for me to see so I only want it in my one workspace. I want Event B to be viewable in my public calendar workspace as well, so I would love to tag it in a way that it also appears in my other workspace. Is this possible?
On interface designer, is there a way to make the filter element wider? It is pretty truncated left<->right and cuts off the filter conditions. Ideally I would be able to stretch this out left<->right and then stack the filters top to bottom.
Hi,I am trying to create an interface with a bunch of fields that have a lot of text.I want to create scrollable box so I can fix its size and do not have to scroll the full page to find the next information,Can this be done?
Hello Community, I’m testing the interface designer to setup a dashboard. My question is, I want to set different colors for each bars. if i change the color scheme only one color is applied where i want different colors in the color scheme to be applied. Even if i choose color scheme, it doesn’t change automatically nor by me trying to click each bar and change. Can anyone give suggestions or advice how to do this?
I seem to have deleted all the interfaces I spent the entire day working on. Is there a way to recover this work? I feel quite stupid!
If I have one page set up, and a user searches for an account on that interface page, and then switches pages within the interface, the account they had searched is gone and they have to search for it again. It may seem minor, but I have some users that won't realize that it's reset and may make mistakes. Is there a way to keep the same account for all pages in a single interface? My goal is to use separate interface pages to show different data for an account the user searches for.
Hi Folks, I'm adding a chart to an interface and even after I filter what the chart shows, the legend for the chart still shows everything, even the categories I've filtered out. Is there a way to edit that legend? Thanks!Kelly
Right now I have a bunch of identical interfaces for different users that differ only in the filters applied to the multiple pages in the interface. Is there are way to use the one single filter for all pages within each particular interface? Currently I have to set them up on each page...
I am creating a record summary interface but am wanting to use a different field than the primary field in my table for the dropdown to search up a record. Is this possible? Is there a work around? It is difficult to use the primary field in our table for searches as it is a code, it would be much simpler to use a different field. Thanks!
I have a table that lists sponsorships that we receive every year for our conference. This may not have been the best way to do it, but the way i have it is that a sponsor is added as a record every year and the year is listed in the next column. The result is that the sponsor may show up a few times but when sorted by year i see their history (i.e- Sponsor A sponsored for 3 years in a row and increased their sponsorship every year). Now i have an interface that shows lots of data as a dashboard ($ we received every year, # of sponsors this year etc). From the sponsorship table, I want to have a number element that shows how many sponsors sponsored us more than 1 time (as in- looking at those records that show up more than once and have a matching name and understanding from that they've come back). Any ideas on how to do this?
So, I have some columns in one of my bases that are complex formulas working something out based on year. These particular formulas are necessary as there is no quick workaround via rollups etc., it's not pretty - and there is something better involving linked records in the works - but they are doing the job for now. Each of these columns show the data for one calendar year, and on an interface I used a number element to sum the column. This way a member of my team has a tidy way of seeing numbers for previous years (each year column has its own number element). They are all exactly the same column, with the same formula (adjusted for dates), with no options for formatting. I've been able to make four number elements using these going back to 2018.At the start of the year, I duplicated the 2021 column (which has a number element), and adjusted the formula to cover 2022. But this new column is not available to select within the number element Field Summary field list.Does anyone ha
I work for a small private adult education institution. We have about 180 students in 10 class groups. We need a way to send those class groups important time-sensitive messages and updates (ie: class cancellations due to inclement weather). We want to do this via text message to the students phones. They have all agreed to be contacted in this way for these purposes. I am in the process of building a database environment in Airtable for the institution to manage our contact lists, student files etc. I have started building an interface to access this database because our faculty is not very tech savvy and needs a user friendly visual design. I am aiming to keep them out of the actual bases all together.Within my master contact list base, I have added the Send SMS extension and connected it to our Twilio account. I've set it up to create contact list groups. I've tested it. It works. Is there any way that I can have that feature - the ability to Send SMS through the table I h
See picture.Now... 8 losers out of 250 is 3.2%... HOW do I get this to calculate inside of the interface? Instead of displaying "8" as the number of losers, I want it to display 3.2%. I swear Interface "use" to have the ability to do custom formula's... if not, what a major weakness. Any help?I flat-out can not figure this out.
I am creating a dashboard interface for a donor management base. There are fundraising campaigns which have receive donations towards a goal. If the goal is, for instance, $1,000 and I receive $100, that's 10% of my goal and I'd like the dashboard donut chart to move the colored section up to 10%.Is this possible??? Thanks!
I have a list of donations made to an organization. I have created a Dashboard Interface to report monthly donations received. I would like to add a number widget that sums the number of all donations received in the current month. I've already worked out how to filter to the current month, but I cannot find any option within the number widget to allow me to SUM. I can only display the Record Count or a Field Summary. Yet I have seen the post linked below that has the ability to do what I want:https://community.airtable.com/t5/interface-designer/interface-cannot-use-formula-result-in-number-element/td-p/76935What am I missing??? TIA!
So I noticed that a grid view can support multi-selection on its first column.I'm wondering if there's a way to run an automation based on what is ticked? This would be great since I can run batch operations. I did notice that in Interfaces a button is not able to connect to a Grid View at all though, so I'm wondering if this is even possible?
I'm struggling to work out how to dynamically set the domain of my chart. Ideally I'd be able to do something like:https://stackoverflow.com/questions/66170320/dynamic-scale-domain-in-vega-lite{ "scale": { "domain": [rangeMin * 0.8, rangeMax * 1.1] } }I've found this question on StackOverflow and I hit exactly the same problem. When I try to use `expr`, I get the error "Incorrect type. Expected "null". What version of Vega Lite does this integration use and is there a link to the documentation for this version?
Hello.I have a database of people who are taking part in a series of activities over a couple of months. In Airtable I have two tables - one which has all of their information (contacts etc) - and another which is the schedule. I have allocated individuals to the different activities in the schedule by creating linked tables.I would like to produce an Interface (I think in the Record Review format) that allows me to select an individual from the list on the left. On the right I would like a Calendar to appear that is bespoke to them. ie. it shows them only the activities that they have been allocated to.At the moment the only way I can do it is to create an additional filter on the Calendar but is there anyway to bypass this step and just use the names on the left to do the filtering automatically?
Hello I am creating a time to value metric reporting system for our course. Our goal is for our students to complete their first submission within our course in 14 days. I have created a formula field that calculates the days from the student's enrollment date to the date they submit their first submission within our course. (see below). So my question is; how should I create reporting in the base interface that reports the number/percentage of students who completed their submission within 14 days?
As title says, every time I make a change to a new record in the record list or something that filters/moves record in the list... the list jumps to default to bottom of list. then I have to scroll all the way to the top and find my spot to select the next record.Any reason it doesn't default to top of list or a setting?
Hi good day everyone,I wanted to ask if Airtable has a feature similar to click-up docs editor. or somehow that field that can be opened on a Microsoft word like editor. Especially when you are building documentation for the selected row that can also be read by other people.
Hi, I am using a timeline view in my interface to view the holiday status of our crew.I'm having an issue trying to find out how to keep one field per line - in this case my "Name" field.Currently, the names are all over the pace in terms of layout, and it's confusing for our users.I've attached a screenshot of the issue, with names redacted to protect the innocent.I am currently sorting by the Name field, since that's what makes most sense in our business. I am also grouping by department and role.Any ideas how I can tidy up this view to make it easier to view? Thanks in advance.
