This is odd. If I create a Timeline view under the Data tab, I can group by a multi-select, and there is a handy option: "Split multiple values into individual groups". So if I have this data:option1, option2 A B Coption3 D E FThis option gives me this instead:option1 A B Coption2 A B Coption3 D E Fwhich is exactly what I want! But this option is not available for grouping a Timeline created as an interface? Why the discrepancy? Will this be fixed?
Tell me, please, is it possible to show one of the fields of the table in the Form, under the condition that it links with another field?I.e. if the first field is an organization, then the second field allows you to choose only from the employees of this organization?Making separate Grids for each organization, as I see it, is not a very interesting option....
I was making adjustments to an existing interface this evening and when I went to add a new record inside of a linked record field in the interface there was no longer an "Add New Record" button at the bottom of the linked record window. See screenshots:Original Functionality: Limited Functionality:Everything is setup the same, and I've tested this in multiple tables. Was this functionality removed on all new or edited interfaces? Please help because my sales workflows are using this functionality to operate.
I'm loving the new Current User on Interface. But is there a way to get Roll Ups to reflect the data for that user?Use Case:I currently assign different users tasks. I have a Roll Up that shows the last date the task was done.So if Dwight did the task on 15th, and Kevin did it on the 20th the current Last Date would say 20th.I need it to show the last day Dwight shot it when he's looking at the data.Alternatively, Is there a way to include Current User in a formula? I could possibly make a field that reflects that, and then filter the Roll Up based off of that.
Hello Airtable people,I have a ticket management system. To manage this, I have a joint table that allows me to link a group of Items to a single ticket (2015, 2016 ...). So I have to enter each Item in the Items table and assign them to the actual ticket. My problem is that when I change the ticket current ticket, the same information is displayed in the Items grid and I would like to create a display condition that filters the records from the Grid to the currently edited ticket.Something like: only displays records whose Ticket ID in the Items table is the same as the Actual Record in the Tickets table. Thanks for your help 🙏
Hi there, Is anyone using a formula field to create an interface page for each record? The formula looks like this : 'https://airtable.com/app.../pag...?...=' & {record_id} This way, the record picker picks up the record automatically, so each link can function as a customized page. I use this to control our projects. The record_id of each project gets picked to create a page with all-round information of the project. BUT it stopped working recently, the link opens the interface page, but the record_id automatically changes back to the default (the first record in the record picker list) … I am waiting for Airtable support team to answer by email. Meanwhile I wondered if anyone was using interface designer by configuring URL with record_id AND if anyone is experiencing the same problem as me.
Hi, I'm facing issues with the footer on my website on mobile. It works great on desktop, but on mobile, its background disappears. This is my site link: (https://howtowatchstreaming.com/). Any tips on how to fix it?
We have a record summary interface that has a couple of conditions built in. We have added three filter elements at the top of the interface screen so that users can filter things on the fly, hopefully by multiple filters at once. It seems like only one can be active at a time, but I can’t find documentation for this. Is this true? I hope not because applying multiple filters on the fly in the interface helps the users find the records they need to work on.
hey this is MAJORLY needed to look at: major feature issue for interface designer!!!you need to allow for the feature show only "current user" to be applicable to fields and or views in a grid on interface designer. !!without it, you see a bunch of fields you might not want your user to see on a grid view in your app.!!e.g. if i add a grid to an interface:Solution 1: show only view assigned to current viewer (best option)Solution 2: show only records by current viewer AND show only FIELDs for current user two ways to get the same thing. option one can mean only 1 time assign a user to a view -- OK --- or offer gird view options available to current user. best option: control permissions of which views (that the current user can see) you want available to that current user in that specific interface element)you basically have the feature (see pics) but you did it for edit record permissions, specific filters. just make this for VIEWING permissions, by a view, with control on select
Hello here,I have created a database that I have formatted via the interface. Great tools. Is it possible to share this interface in 'guest' mode (without the client having to subscribe for example)?
Hi all,I've been re-doing my interfaces as i've update my tables, and i've noticed that the way records are shown in a gallery view has changed. Orignally i used to click a card, and the record would pop up. As far as i remember i used to be able to customise what fields were visible on the pop out.The new way opens a record on the page (rather than a pop out) but i'm limited in terms of customising this. Yes i can change what fields are visible, however this then applies to ALL record views for that table. As my data is essentially a warehouse stock system, i have a number of gallery views.First, i have a gallery where only records with certain information is missing, with the intention that i can go in, and add the relevant information (Order value, supplier, order qty etc)I then have another gallery where my "Stock on hold" records show. Here i am adding in the number of units delivered to me. In both cases, i do not need the same fields visible when i want to edit the rec
My friend showed me her Airtable and I swear there was a layout like the image attached. A big table layout with graphs, notes, and documents. You could zoom out to see the relationships and organizational structure or you could zoom in and actually read the documents and spreadsheets themselves. Can anyone help me find this?
In a barplot grouped by a certain field and counting number of records I would like to filter only the bars that have a count over a threshold. If not, barplot contains way too many bars and it is unreadable. How can I do that?I am doing it in a base interface. The first screenshot shows the issue. The second shows the config of the barplot
Is it possible to update linked records that are shown as a gallery view, within the 'record review' interface layout?I have a "products" table, and each product can be linked to many "POs"Essentially the PO is our various orders of that item.I've built an 'record review' interface (see screenshot) which shows the products on the left hand side, with more details surrounding the product on the right side. Here i display the linked records in a gallery view, grouped by location. My aim is to create a pick list from the various POs so we know when all units relating to each PO has been shipped.Currently i have to click on each PO which takes me to the 'Record Detail' page. It seems a long winded way to update some of the fields, especially if they are the ones i've chosen to show on each gallery card. Is it possible to have editable fields on the card, rather than clicking into the record detail? If this isn't currently a feature, it would be a useful one to consider. Perhaps i
I have a record picker that I want to use to filter a different grid source. For example:1. Picking a project with difficulty of 2/3.2. Filtering a gird of freelancers with ability to work on difficulty of 2/3 and above.I can only manually input the filter for the freelancers grid without connecting it automatically to the picker chosen result. Am I missing something?
New to Airtable here and trialling to see if I can work out a solution for my department.I have two bases, one that tracks People and the other that tracks Activities. Within Activities are fields for 'Participants', 'Facilitators' and 'Guests'. Multiple people can be added to each field.I am trying to create an interface that shows a count of how many people there were across all activities in the participant's column. However, I can only seem to get it to count how many activities there were to have any participants, which is a different number.I can see the next trap would also be that, if I was able to get it to count items within a column, it would count them regardless if they were original or not. This is desirable sometimes but it would be good to only count unique entries across multiple activities because often the same people attend multiple activities. How do I effectively say "count unique entries within the participants' column for all activities"?
I'm creating a client portal in softr. As such I have 5 Projects - Each with 10 potential statuses.Project 1, Project 2 and so on can have Status 1, Status 2, Status 3 etc.How do I count the Number of Statuses for each project and get in it a COUNT column so I can take the number into Softr?I can tally the whole lot - but I can't break it down per project. Thanks
I have a table that contains products and their dimensions (H, W, D/L, etc.) which are displayed for the sales team in an Interface grid. They need to be able to copy the product line or parts of it to paste into another document. However, the interface view doesn't allow copy and pasting in either "View-only" or "Editable" format. Am I doing something wrong? Help!
Hello! In the Airtable interface, when you create an element type that has the ability to "allow users to open record details", for instance in a "gallery" or "grid", and you click on the "configure record details"(see screenshot), it leads you to a "details layout" that displays details of that record's object type. For instance, if you have a "Contacts" object type, the "details layout" allows you to put information about the contact (like name, email, phone, address, etc.) on that details pageMy question: if you have multiple interfaces for a single base, each of which requires those same "details layouts", can you duplicate the "details layouts" across each interface so you don't have to manually duplicate them? If this feature isn't available, it'd be a great addition to reduce the amount of manual labor required!
hiI just wanted to know whether creating records in a bridge table (resolving M:M relationship) can be done only through views attached to the bridge table (like grid view, gallery view..) or can this be done using an Interface, as my users are interested to use Interface than the table views. To explain thisI have two tables "Employee" and "Facilities " (akin to services offered by org). There exists M:N relationship between these 2 tables and a new table "Employee-Opted-Facilities" would be required to capture certain details like dates etc.Is there a way to create a record in this table using Interface, by having button and triggering automation. I tried but I think the trigger would use only source table that would be made available to the automation. Please suggest if there is a workaround with interfaces or else I have to settle with table views.ThanksSri
I am using a formula to subtract one weight (ungraded weight) from another (graded weight). The formula in the dashboard is working fine to make Unaccounted Weight: However, I cannot choose Unaccounted Weight in Interface Designer. I want it to appear just as a number element. Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?
Hi there, I have a table with unique numeric IDs in the first column. Ideally, people will input data in that table through a form interface, but i really need to be sure that people are not inputting the same ID twice, so that if they do form submission is not sent and we show an error that says that they cannot input a duplicated ID. I have not found any ways to do so anywhere on the net, the only way seems to be throuh Mini Extensions, but i would prefer to not use too many different providers, that’s why i’m using Interfaces. Since we already use Softr i was considering moving the whole interface there, but i cannot find any evidence that Softr provides this kind of check. Any help?
Hi there. I’m facing a problem in some of my interfaces where the value’s are not appearing in the right order whether I change it from Ascending to Descending. For example. I have a bar chart as below where all the weeks are in the wrong order: I’m pulling the 'Week’s from a table as follows. Weeks are a linked record. Can someone explain what I’m doing wrong here? Thanks Dan
Hey guys, Not sure if I have posted here before but thank you all for the wealth of information as I have absolutely learnt a whole heap from all your contributions. I’m trying to create an interfrace to speed up my creating of user stories by using templates. Basically I want to have one list of templates and then one list of the user stories for the scoping document I am making. See below for an image. I want to be able to click\select\other a template item and that then copies (has to be a copy as I may modify it a little and I don’t want the template to be modified) that item to the working user story list. For bonus points I’d love to be able to unselect the template and it remove the working user story item related.
Hello, Is there a way to add a fixed image, a company logo for example, to an interface Layout? This operation seems straightforward but I do not find how to do it. Thanks Pascal
