Hi all, First of all, my name is Sebastiaan and we are new to the Airtable Community. We are running a company in building Home Cinema Seats. At the moment we are developing our workflow in Airtable. One of the things we want to do is creating a order-system for your chairs. Because we want to get rid of the spreadsheet feeling, we want to use Airtable Interface Designer to create quotes, purchase orders and invoices. We offer modulair built seats with different combination and we want to have an overview of the products, description and prices. Is it possible to develop this in Airtable or do we need 3th party apps? Thanks for your reaction in advance and all the best, Sebastiaan
I use the Record Review template for almost all of my interfaces, and while I love that template, grouping records needs some love (I feel). I have records groups by their status (‘In Progress’, ‘Complete’, ‘Referred’, etc.) and regardless of their importance, all groups collapse immediately upon opening the interface. I would really love the ability to either have all groups not collapsed upon opening the interface (as the easiest solution), or selecting which groups are automatically collapsed, and which groups stay shut (or whatever the opposite of collapsed is)… Heck, I’d love to be able to organize the groups too, but I use a formula for my grouping so that may be a massive headache. Either way, thanks for a super slick product!
Hi everyone, You may have noticed that if you create a gallery of records within interface designer, you can show the buttons that you might have created for those records. The button fields work as intended and are perfect - however… If you allow to go into record details onClick for a record in the gallery component, the button will work and execute, but you go into the record details also. This might not be intended behaviour. If it is intended, do we have a workaround to open a button from that gallery view without accidently going into the record details?
When I build an Interface with my data, the date format shows up differently from how I’ve set it up in the data in the original Base and my system preferences on macOS. Date in Base Date field setting in Base Date and time setting on macOS Date on Interface
I gave people read-only access to an interface before the rollout of the feature allowing me to restrict access to the underlying database. Can I restrict that access retroactively?
Is it possible to add multiple views under same page ? For example, I have a page called “X project” and I want to create multiple views under this page as we did same on previous Airtable base.
The “record picker” allows one to search for and select a record by the primary field only, it seems. I would like to see a true search element that can be configured to search multiple fields, or all fields within the specific view.
Hello! I am working on a family archiving project. I have made comments directly on attachments and want my family members to review each record and reply to my attachment comments. On the interface designer, using the Record review template, I want to display Attachment Comments for a given Record so that my family members know where to look in the attachment (these are old documents that can be hard to read). Thank you!
Hi everyone, here’s my situation: I click on my base (in Windows app) Top of the screen, I can see ‘Data’ - ‘Automations’ - ‘Interfaces’ I click ‘Interfaces’ I am presented with my Interface ‘categories’ I click on ‘DRCs and Trades’ Interface but it opens up my last opened form I was expecting to see a list of forms/interfaces I had created? I’m sure this used to appear? Is it something I’m doing wrong?
I’ve been using airtable for a couple of years on my own and have developed some cool and useful interfaces that I use. It turns out a bunch of others would love to have access to the dashboards I’ve built. I understand I can’t share the interfaces without making those viewers paid collaborators, which is ridiculous for some managers who want to view a page once per month. So what are my options? Screenshots? Stacker?
Hi all, Have been playing around with the Airtable Interface designer for a bit and am stuck on showing aggregated data on a line chart. The sketch out the situation: I have a table of events. I have a linked table of people who registered for an event. These records have a ‘created’ time field. I want to show the growth in registrations for an event. So I want to line chart to show the total registrations for that event on a certain day, not just the amount of registrations of that single day. Any clue if this is possible or just somehting that hasn’t been implemented yet?
I have a problem that I think should be solved through interfaces. I’m tracking attendance and need to be able to build rankings of attendees, and calculate attendance percentages, flag people below a certain percentage, etc. I have a database with two tables: a list of employees and a list of events. The events table is a collection of records (date, attendee, type of event). It links to the employee list, so it rolls up the events and counts how many of those they attended. In fact there’s an extra record calculating the percentage over totals. So far so good, I can tell how many events and of which type everyone got. Problem is, the list is growing and all the data I have is YTD. I need my boss to be able to select a date range and check the percentages, ie quarterly or whatever range they want. So I built an interface, from which I’m able to make a filter (from date, to date) and even filter which type of event (meeting, conference, workshop), then show a number element that counts
I don’t see the option to select the field to update in a Record Picker Interface. In a different base I am able to set this correctly. What could be the issue?
When I open a filter option in Interface Designer, my choices are never provided in alphabetical order, wondering how I can choose this? I also have a filter for year (2021, 2022, etc.) but the options show in a random order 2022,2021,2023. Thanks for the help!
Does it make any sense that I can set up a form in interface designer for new records (for example “Tasks”) which is used from the record review, including required fields, but when I create a Task from another record (for example from a “Project”) that form is no longer used? And also when editing a “Task” I can’t specify which fields are required? Or am I missing something?
The question mentions it all: I have a piechart that summarizes a distribution of my records over some categories. Now there are quite a few that have 0 records so that category doesn’t show up in the chart, but it does in the legend. Since there are quite a lot of categories, the chart becomes cluttered. Is there a way to hide the unused categories in the legend?
I am using AT to keep track of parts in manufacturing. My systems use the API to create a single part record in one table, and then add multiple “update” records that keep track of tests or comments. It’s working well. Now I want to create a manual interface so that users can add tests from the AT website. I have created an interface with a record picker that selects the Part *using Serial Number). I then have a table element that is attached to all those updates in the other table. But from there, I want to be able to easily add a new update to the updates table. The grid allows me to edit, but not create an update. I tried another page, and that would work, but I would have to get the user to search for the part with a new record picker. So either I want to be able to insert a record in the grid (the user can then edit it) or I want to have the record picker on one page set the record picker on a form page. Is there a good way to do this?
I am creating a directory of artists that have the following tags medium (painting, ceramics, etc) location (CA, NY, OH) gender (female, male, nonbinary) In the interface, I am able to create a record picker for gender that connects to the record list, however I am stuck on trying to connect the other tags to this same record list. I want to be able to use the dropdown record pickers to filter the table via multiple values. How can I do this?
Hi all – sorry if this has been discussed before, I had a search around and couldn’t find anything. I’m using an Interface as the front-end to an Airtable → Zapier → Webflow CMS integration. The interface contains a bunch of fields for content — headlines, body text, banner images etc – that I want users to be able to tinker with. However, I’d like to prevent changes from being sent to my Zapier automation until a user clicks “Save” … rather than the cells updating one-by-one as the user works their way through the interface. Is there a straightforward way to make an Interface only commit the changes to the base on a button click? Or is my best bet to do this manually … i.e. make my Last Modified column only update when a certain button is pressed? Many thanks in advance Dave
Does anyone know if you can add custom code in Interface Designer? Would love to add in some custom elements.
I’m hoping to create an activity tracker across my different consulting contracts. The hierarchy for submitting an activity is as follows: Contract 1 > Possible Tasks (“WBS”) → Activity related to task Contract 2 > Possible Tasks → Activity related to task In an interface form designed to submit a user activity for a task/contract, I’d like to filter a drop down of WBS possibilities based on a user-selected contract. I understand this feature doesn’t exist yet; is it currently in development? I see that I’m not the only one that has sought similar functionality across airtable features.
I’m trying to take or save a picture of the pie chart in interface to use in a report. How do I do this? Thanks for your help!!
Hi there ! Here is my case, which seems pretty simple but I couldn’t find any solution for now : I have a table called “Talents” and a table called “Positions”. Both have the same fields as “Seniority”, “Department”, “Skills”, “Salary Range”, etc. I want to be able to filter my Talents using the fields of a position. I basically want to get the Talents who match the position. And I would like to create this Matching tool in the interface. Any idea on how to do this ? Thanks a lot ! Best, Kevin
I created links using the text element to make navigating from one interface page to another. However, they open in a new tab or instance of the App window. Is there an HTML syntax I can use so it opens in the same tab or instance of the APP so I don’t get dozens of windows open while navigating? I googled the answer but it doesn’t seem to be working.
Hello! When I add a text element to an interface, and format it as a checklist, I am unable to check/uncheck the boxes when the interface is published. I am only able to do so in edit mode. Is there something I am missing? Thanks!
