In my table 2 has some records along with their comments and these records are connected with table 1. for example 3 records which are connected with a1. Now I want to access comments of those 3 records in the interface via a1. I don’t wanna read individual comments going each record instead by clicking just a1, I should have access those comments. Here this my base tables Table 1 Table 2 Here is the base link Airtable Airtable | Everyone's app platform Airtable is a low-code platform for building collaborative apps. Dear all, I just experience strange behavior of elements in interface designer. Not only one base, or one specific interface, it’s all. Element says" Element had an internal error". Anyone see same?
I’m creating an input form for a trading journal. I’m inputting the quantity and the price, but i want to display the calculation directly on the input form. Is that possible?
A couple of the most convenient things I found in Airtable are the little previews when adding a linked record and then the expanded views that are available with a click. I wanted to make sure those previews were displaying the most helpful information and that the expanded view was ordered in a way that made sense, despite the varying field order amongst the different views. I realized the following: Expanded View of a Linked Record accessed from a Table The order and visibility will match that of the first view of that table. With hidden fields moved to the bottom. Preview of a Linked Record The fields previewed will match the first fields within the first view of the table regardless of visibility I’ve been calling this first view of a table, an “Index View” because in some cases, they serve no purpose to me other than establishing field orders. My question is, do the expanded view within Interfaces follow any similar protocol? Expanded View of a Linked Record accessed from an Inte
I have an interface that shows some records. The buttons in the right upper corner should modify the record. The record has a field called status. If the status of the record is “pending”, then the record should display in this interface. When any of the two buttons get hit, the record should be remove since the status of the record is modified and is no longer “pending”. Everything is working fine at this point. But if I try to finish up with all the records, the buttons are still clickable and the fields of the last record are still showing up. By clicking it once it should be gone and not able to modified it again.
ASK: I would like to build out an interface for employees where a number element displays how many hours they’ve worked in the present week - this way, they can see if they are meeting their hourly targets (on a weekly basis). I have a base where users (employees) can track their time using the Time Tracker extension. In this architecture, there are 2 relevant tables: a Tasks table that shows the employee’s task list and a Timesheets table that houses their clocked time. First, in the Tasks table they click a button that runs a script that creates a record in the Timesheets table that is parented to the task. Then they start the time tracker, and the duration data is stored in that Timesheets record (but this way, they can have multiple time entries for a single task). In the interface, I can create a number element whose source is the Timesheets table and that performs a Field Summary (Sum) on the Duration field in that table. The filter is currently set to where the Create Date (a
Hi, I looked for something similar, but could not find it, so I guess I’ll ask :slightly_smiling_face: Let’s say I have a two tables: [Projects] and [Tasks] where each Task has a “Project” linked field. What I want, is to make an interface where I select a Project from a Record Picker and it will show me a grid with related tasks, where I can edit and add new tasks for this particular project. I tried using a Filter, but since “Project” it’s a linked field - it does not allow the user to pick a project from the dropdown but it forces them to type in project name. So this will not fly. I would love any suggestions.
Be able to put a kanban in interface designer would be great for collaboration.
Hi there, I’m creating a simple stock control for a small warehouse, so i have an interface, with a gallery that is pre filtered to only show records with the stock status “pending” Now i’m wanting to add a number of filter options to the top of the interface to aid with searching through multiple records. For example i have included a filter that searches to see if the description contains the text that the user input into the box. You could then filter again by selecting a supplier. If i link one filter to the connected element (the gallery) it seems to unlink the second filter which means only 1 works at a time. I have also tried rather than adding in a new separate filter, adding one to the current filter, but this then creates an “AND” filter which is not correct for what i need. Are there work arounds for this?
Hello, I calculate the duration between two date fields and then make a pie chart. In some cases one of my fields is empty, which gave me a NaN result. I got around this problem by using the formula IF({Date de création de l'événement},DATETIME_DIFF( {Date de visualisation}, {Date de création de l'événement}, 'minutes')) which allows me to obtain empty values for the values without interest. When I filter the view for values between 0 and 12, I have 44 records left and on my pie chart I have 34. This is incomprehensible because by checking these 44 records all include a value between 0 and 12 whereas on my chart I would have to include the empty records to get the 44 values. But in reality I have 44 records with a value and nothing with no value inside theses 44 records… I have the impression that there is a conflict. Adding a filter to remove the empty fields also has no effect because it conflicts with the filter on the values. Thank you for your help !
Here’s my scenario: Every day I make a plan, I screenshot the plan and put it in a ‘plan’ table Every day I might make 3 trades, each of which are stored in another ‘trades’ table I have an interface where I review my daily ‘daily review’ table I would like to include in my ‘daily review’ interface, a grid showing all the trades for the day (so the daily review’ interface would need to list trades with the same date as is on the daily review table/interface. Each day could have many trades. But a specific trade can only belong to one date. I am not sure how I can do this. Can anyone help?
Im trying to develop a interface that can act as a command center for driving many of our meetings, but it requires a timeline view as well as a records list. however if I try starting with dashboard, I can add a timeline view but can not add records list. I can only add a record picker which does not work at all for this use case. if I try starting with records reviewer, I can not add a timeline view (the timeline element added here only shows the single record selected in the records list, but I want a timeline view of all records in my list) if I start from blank, its similar to dashboard… there is no records list element. am I missing something? I feel like there should be a way to connect every element to the record picker or record list of their choosing so that it allows for a mix of interface options. It would be even better if I can select a record in my timeline and have it show the data in the elements below, but that’s more wishful thinking
I am not sure if this is something that should be a feature suggestion, but i would like to make the field in interface editable dependent on a select field that I call “STATUS”. So that certain fields can be edited only when the STATUS is set to certain items.
Not sure if this is an interface specific question, but it seems like the “hidden fields” order of fields settings have changed, at least in Interfaces. It used to be that the hidden fields and field order was determined by the top most view in the table, but it looks like that may have changed? What determines that now? I find myself having to press the “show X hidden fields” button regularly now and there doesnt appear to be a way to change which fields are hidden.
Hi there, when I add new records to a table through an Interface, this doesn’t show on my original data table (i.e. when in the base, not the interface). Is there a way to sync them?
Hello! I created an interface allowing to manage the holidays of the collaborators. To facilitate the processing of requests, it would be great that when a recording is selected in the left part, the timeline grouping all the requests is automatically positioned on the start date of the requested vacation period. Do you have any idea how to do this? Thanks a lot for your help!
In our base we have an attachment field which contains jpg images. When images are placed in interface designer using any of the three options, ID crops them. How to get them to display fully without cropping?
Good morning! Does anyone have any idea what will happen to interfaces created for free accounts once they (the interfaces) are no longer in beta? I have a client with the Legacy Free plan and I don’t want to set them up with a bunch of interfaces unless they’re going to be able to keep having access to them. Thanks so much and rock on, Michele
Hello! I’m working with a base that has a record of all our organization’s projects, and I’m trying to design a project-level dashboard where people can go in, select the project they want from the record picker, and see all the relevant info for that project. I have already set up the record picker and added some key project fields, but also want to include a timeline element based on key dates. To do this, I’ve tried clicking on Add element > All elements > Timeline and adding it to the dashboard. The problem is that this displays a timeline for all projects, and is not filtered to the project already selected in the record picker. Is there a way to link my record picker to the timeline element? I tried editing the filter on the timeline element and connecting the record picker as a filter element, but that doesn’t seem to be doing anything. Thanks!
There doesn’t seem to be a way to create a new record with Interface Designer other than the button attached to the record picker. This is too bad because the record list is an elegant navigation element, but it’s redundant if you add a record picker pointed to the same table. And although there may be a good reason for this, they don’t sync. Also, unlike other elements, you can’t delete a record list, so it looks like I’ll have to create a new Interface from scratch. Someone please tell me I missed these. :fearful:
Hi guys. I’m not very well versed with the jargon so I apologize in advanced. So I want to use the record picker interface template as a score updater. I’ll do my best to explain what I want. Each record points towards a player or participant. When a participant’s record is chosen one of the fields displayed is their current score. The score is used to “purchase” prizes, and they can come back multiple times to “purchase” prizes. So I want a field where we can enter the value of the prize, and when a button element is pressed, it deducts that value from the player’s score, and then becomes blank. I understand there might be work that has to be done on the table itself to make it work maybe, but I’d appreciate any help with this problem.
Begun playing around with interfaces on Airtable. Is there a way to integrate a map view onto an individual record? You can see an example below that would make sense.
Hello I like Interface Designer but a particular problem for me is that it appears I can’t add a field from a linked (to single record) table without first creating a new linked field. This means that my table gets massively overloaded with unnecessary fields. It would be great to add in the option of displaying any field from a linked record (where that link is to a single record, so 1>1 or many>1 type)
I don’t want to increase the width of the element, but the Label text isn’t wrapping. What am I missing here?
Please see the image below. I live in Australia and would like dates displayed DD/MM/YYY. This is formatted correctly in the base as seen in the support image. My interface displays the date correctly, however on my colleagues, it displays it as MM/DD/YYY. The most unusual part of this is that there are multiple dates and dates of birth in this interface and base, and this is the only value that does this. Any suggestions?
