Hope I’m putting this in the right forum. I could swear that, a long time ago, I saw Gareth Pronovost demonstrate how you can generate a URL that will load an existing record into a form so a user can edit it. All I recall really recall is that it involves getting the record ID into the URL. But I’ve been searching for how to do this and can’t find it. I’m talking about a technique that does not require anything outside Airtable. I already know how to do this using miniAutomations (and that works great). But I’m trying to do it without miniAutomations or any other helper service. Anybody able to throw me a clue? Added a minute later: To be clear, I’m NOT talking about prepopulating fields in the form. I know how to do that, too, using ‘prefill_’ and encoding the URL. When you do that it simply prepopulates certain fields with values, but when user hits Submit it creates a new record. I want to edit an existing record and then save the changes to the same record.

So a big reason I chose airtable was that it had an app, so that myself and my other user could input data in the field. Except now that I've spent dozens and dozens of hours building something with forms etc, I see that forms don't actually work on the android app...!What's the work around for quick in-field form submission? That's a surprising oversight, and I see people have been complaining about this for years..

It looks like the forms in AirTable have recently gotten a bit of a revamp. Is there a way to add blocks that just contain helper text? I essentially want to include text giving directions and reminders to the form taker as they are going through the form. I know a field can have helper text added, but for the form I'm creating, there are certain pieces of info/reminders that aren't necessarily directly related to a specific form field question, but it's info that I still want to remind the form taker about. I can add it as helper text, but it won't flow as well.

I know a few years ago it was not possible, but I'm curious to know if anything has changed. I have a long form that I'd like to split into multiple pages. Is this still impossible to do in Airtable? Is my only solution to use an external service like JotForm?

Hi, I have connected Jotform with my Airtable. Everything works perfectly fine. Information was able to save on Airtable appropriate. I chose the E-signature widget on Jotform, is there any way I can save it on Airtable as an image? or what should I do with it? Any suggestion？

Hello ! I’d like to track leads who fill the airtable form embed in my website in order to make Facebook ads. Do you know how I have to set GTM to manage it ? I first created a thank you page but my browser (Chrome) blocks it as a pop up page (perhaps because my website juggles between my domain name and Airtable one ?) and I’m concerned my customers have the same issue. Very new to this. Is there a way to create a fill-able form for my employees to fill out and submit. When they submit it, I’d like it to show up as an attachment next to their name in their row. I don’t want to create a new row for each form submission because it’ll add up quick with everyone doing weekly forms. My employees have to fill out a form every week and submit that so I need a way to keep track of who submitted/when and keep them all together. Thank you!

Hi all, we’re a custom sportswear company using Airtable to track orders. At the moment we have a single line item for each garment ordered, and the numbers of each size. The view is grouped by contract number so we have all garments for each client grouped together. So for example we might have: Line Contract Garment XS S M L XL 1 1875 Bobs Bikes Cycling Jersey 1 2 3 2 1 2 1875 Bobs Bikes Cycling Shorts 1 1 1 3 1 3 1875 Bobs Bikes Cycling Jacket 0 2 2 1 0 My question is whether I can collect this information in an airtable form to auto populate our airtable? I have tried creating a form for this but under Garment it will only allow me to choose one garment, OR I can setup the garment field to allow the form filler to choose multiple garments . But in the former case I can only collect information about

How can I turn off spell checking? I use this entirely for foreign-language content (all non-English words) and Airtable is underlining every single word!

Hi,We are an academic library. We don’t have a facebook account or any connection to facebook that I know of. However, I noticed when an interface was loading, that my browser said “waiting for facebook.”When I looked at the html of the page, I found this:<img height="1" width="1" style="display:none" alt="" src="https://www.facebook.com/tr?id=418406606004092&ev=PageView&noscript=1"/>We’ve found similar non-displayed links to facebook on other pages.Is this expected? I’m having a hard time finding the correct links for the columns-  airtable API key (which tells me I’m supposed to create a token for it which I did but not too sure on how to copy it and paste it on there) Airtable database app (not to sure where to find this located either.) My goal is to make it close to the template that it provides with the leaderboard. I‘ve created my own already with the AI source.  Would like help!! 

I’ve seen something like this asked, but not really seeing responses?  But it got me thinking….  Is it really possible to have two different forms feed into a single base?  My thought process is this.  Creating an onboarding base so we can make sure we get everything completed for every hire.  But questions we ask on applications can vary based on the job(s) they are applying for, so having several forms with the specific questions would be great instead of having questions that only certain people would fill out or verbiage that is correct for some, but not for others.Is it REALLY possible to do this?  Yesterday I was trying to determine if there was a way to set up a form with sections so that each section of questions was for specific jobs, but the form will be LONG.  Having different forms based on the job they are applying for would be much better, if it will truly work.

Hi, I created my first form today and liking the tools, however i find the linear scrolling required to access a multi-field form a bit long winded… Can i modify the layout and locate fields where i need to, to make the form more compact and intuitively laid out, and potentially all fields on a single screen/page? I looked at a thread from 2020, and it mentioned JotForm using Zapier ? Has there been any changes since then to Form layouts for Airtbale? Thanks You, Simon.

I’m trying to create a form that will allow club members to order multiple products. Each product has different color and size options, and I can’t figure out how to build the table to then create the form with all the different options. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dave

I noticed differences in the revision history of a record when i open it in an interface vs. when i open it on a table. How? Why?in interface, last edit 4w ago (but last edited date shows 1 day ago...):in table the edits from 1 day ago show up. they relate to a linked record...:  

Hi, as a new Airtable user i could really do with some help. I help organise a small cat rescue so have built my 1st ever database (whoop lol) so we can organise who needs adopting, what sex, colour etc… a couple of us cant access the information via the browser on our phones. it comes up with a ‘header’ screen so to speak but you cant access any of the info. I am fine as I have an android so I just downloaded the app. But one person is making excuses that they can’t and so far cannot see anything. Does anyone have any advice or hints / tips as to get it working on phone browser? thank ya’ll ever so much x

Hi all, I’m at a stage where it’s no longer legit to make changes directly on the prod env.What are your best practices for managing changes in the base’s structure and design? (changing field type, editing formulas, editing scripts, adding tables etc.) For example, is there a way to connect to git and keep track of changes to table schemas (not data sync)?How do you make changes in a DEV base, and then push them to production? Do you use dedicated branches in git for these changes? 

I am working in grid view and need to move several records to different places in the same table. For example, record 101 needs moved to 43, etc. Can someone show me how to do that?

I created a form in Airtable and it gave me this html code: I embedded the code in my web site page here and it does work: https://captaintime.com/joint-venture-webinars/ However, it gives it a black background instead of the usual green on my site. I tried changing the background transparent to the hex color number and this didn’t work. Nor did changing backgroundColor=yellow to green. Not that yellow was showing anywhere anyway. Thanks,

Hello, We are having problem with Attachment Field.We use mobile devices to upload photos on airtable, but the photos are not getting uploaded...Anybody having same issue?From my observation, the Airtable mobile apps is not working.I tired with multilple devices, Galaxy S devices, Iphone, Ipad...Logged out and re-logged in, but its not working at all.

I have a list of addresses and I already represented them through Map block using google Map API on the map. The queseion is how to get the coresponding geocode (latitude and longitude) for each address. eventhough I noteced that Map Block created text code for each address called Geocode cache is that may help or converted to coordinates. “Geocode cache This block stores additional information for each address. Create a new text field in your table and pick it below. Other map blocks can use the same field.” Thank you so much for your help in advance.

I have two emails showing up and the wrong one is one character off.  I don’t know how to reach help to fix this so I can get access to all my bases 

This is something that has been bothering me on both desktop and mobile…  When I have the app downloaded to a device, and I click on an email that is from a comment, there should be a function where the action takes me directly to the comment in the app. Not to a login page in my browser, not a new tab in the browser.  This would be a lot better than the current behavior because: 1) I downloaded the app. I’m here, I’m using the app, I’m the power user and I should be taken care of; 2) When opening a series of comments in my email, I now have to wait for each of the tabs to open. My base isn’t small, so it takes a while each time, and it’s a little frustrating. 

Hello, I’m trying to wrap the text in linked fields but I can’t figure out how to do so. In the example below, the Name and the Doc Gap Descriptions fields are linked. In the original field, where the field type is Long Text, the text wraps and is fully visible. In the linked field, the text is cut off rather than wrapped. How do I display wrapped text here? I tried seeing if wrapping would happen in a printout using the print option of “Wrap long text onto additional lines as needed,” but that doesn’t wrap the linked text either. Thanks, Erik
