Hi all! I need help in calculating the average value of a single select field. I tried the count(values) and it works. However, AVERAGE(values) gives me NaN. In the image 2, I’ve created a roll up field of the linked records An alternative to this is creating a field in the first table with the formula VALUE(Strategy - Top Ten Targets (Pitch 1)) and then using the roll up function on that field and works! But I want to know whether it can calculate the average just by changing the formula in the roll up field. Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to setup ‘is-a’ relationship among tables? ex: We have a Person table with atttributes like email, name etc. We want to setup Employee table that inherits all attributes of Person but has more attributes like salary etc. Is it possible to setup “Employee is a (Inherits from) Person” relationship?

I would like to know whether our team who are not full-time are able to view their respective project details outside of Airtable say via email. As our field leader would not want the team to see details of another team member’s information: Jack - Burundi , Daniel- Tanzania , and Ryan - Mozambique for example, each member should only have read capabilities of their respective projects? Is this possible outside of Airtable via the field manager sending them their project details via email from Airtable or would each team member need some sort of access to Airtable to view their respective projects only?

I have a table that is a list of people. Call it “People”. Say there are 5 people. Then I have a table that’s a list of deals. Call it “Deals”. Say there are 3 deals. Each Deal record has a “closing date”. Then I have a table that’s a list of investments made into Deals. Call it “Investments”. Each person can invest in each deal. So there are as many as 15 records in the Investments table – one for each intersection of Person and deal. I’m trying to come up with a way where, in the People table, I can see the date of the most recent investment each person made. And then I want to sort by that date. This way I can see who hasn’t invested in at least X months and I can reach out to them to try and reactivate them as an investor. I’ve noodled on this for some time but no solution has come to me. I have 4 plus events in my calendar and only 1 or 2 of them are visible in the week or day views. The afternoon appointments are not visible at all but the first appointment for the day is. Does anyone know why? If I switch to 2 week or month view I can see multiple appointments on each day.

I’ve started using Airtable to create an inventory for work, I’ve started working with creating multiple tables: Employees | Devices | SecondDevices | Other Devices | Monitors | Group1 | Group2 | Budget I need to sync all devices (Devices, SecondDevices, OtherDevices, Monitors) that have a tag within budget. The case being that budget has 2 types, internal and external budget. Goal 1: All external budgets should be exported or synced to Google Spreadsheet automatically. Goal 2: Entries in one table should be duplicated when added a tag. Question 1: What is the best (free) way to sync Airtable to spreadsheets automatically. We’re on a Pro plan and use one of our user accounts to log in to a handful of workshop floor devices. I appear to have hit a limit on the number of devices that can sign in using the same user account. Is there a maximum? What is it?

Hello dear Airtable community! :wave: Is it possible to add a fixed prefix with a randomly generated 4-digit number to a new entry? – So, a new entry is created with name and first name of a person in two columns. And in a previously created 3rd column called “CODE”, a 4-digit, randomly generated and unique number code is now automatically added (1234) to a previously defined prefix (#AB): for example #AB1234 or #AB9876. Hi, I am a total newbie to Airtable ! I just created a first basic form with email, phone, name, … And this data is directly outputted in my global database. Using Sendinblue (software to send mass email), I would like to share to my users (the one who filled my first form) a second more complete form on their needs, and also for them to upload files. How could I link the answer to my second form to my first database ? Without asking again for basic information such as email. Thanks a lot for your help ! Hi everyone - I’m new to Airtable and loving it but somehow can’t figure out the following: I want to make a simple staff schedule (max 10 employees in various roles) that ideally would show each shift in a colour with the name of the employee in it. We have several fixed shifts (daily day and night) and a few more irregular ones (ie cleaning staff with various start and end times). I then want staff members to be able to iCal their part of the calendar into whatever app they use themselves, and use data to calculate staff payouts and such later on. I know it’s a block in my own brain but can’t figure out how to structure this one, a little tip would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! D

Unless I’m mistaking, if you create a rollup/lookup field and thus get the name of the original field (if you don’t specify your own field name), that name isn’t updated when you change the field name of the original field your rollup/lookup field refers to. I would find it useful to see the rollup/lookup field update it’s field name in such cases.

I am sharing a view-only link to a base with others but the views they see are including views I have set as personal to me. I expected it would only share views set for “Collaboration” Is this expected behavior? Any way to hide those views from read-only people?

I am looking for a free software of sorts. I am not a big company, only an individual. Paying $300 for a month for any software is not feasible. I am looking for a form software that is able to use Airtables field linking. For example, a user can add variations to a product that already exists in the database by clicking on “+Add”. I considered Jotform because of its ability to have IMAGE CHOICES, as well as being able to better organize a form so its not a mile long. However, it lacks this functionality. :frowning: If anyone has any suggestions, I would be glad to hear them. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m setting up an Integromat integration to watch for Google Form responses and create new Airtable records accordingly. I’ve got pretty much everything working with the exception of one field… In my Google form it’s a multi-checkbox answer for the instruments people play, which (I believe) returns a comma-separated text string - or possibly it’s already treated as an array, I’m not sure. The values from that need to go into a Multi Select field in Airtable. The values in both the Google Form and the Airtable field are identical. From what I’ve found, I think this is going to involve some kind of array parsing, but I just cannot figure out what I should do in Integromat - their own documentation on this is not at all clear, so I was hoping someone here would be able to help me out.

Hi, I’ve been very interested to improve the efficiency of using Airtable. I wish we could use different bases for each department in the company but most of the work is getting done on one big (lots of tables) base. Hence, I am trying to find a good workaround. right after I saw the new ‘personal views’ section which is pretty cool, I started thinking about two things: being able to have the same feature for each department and being able to hide/show the tables. ex: we create a table in a separate base that holds the name of the collaborators and the departments they belong to. then we sync it with the main base. when we set up a department/group view, the views we added to the list will be shown by the people who work in that department only. In the meantime, if we can have (like edit permissions feature for the fields) ‘hide’ feature and we can select the departments which don’t need to see the selected table (when ‘select all’ is used, it’ll be hidden to everyone, when

Scenario 1 (Consolidating data across multiple bases) How can we combine common data from bases (assuming they have different number of columns and different information) into a single table that acts as the single source of truth? If not, what is the alternative for combining data from different bases into a single source of truth? Scenario 2 (Consolidating data within a base) How can we consolidate and merge data common information into a single table within the same base? Assuming I have to use “Linked Records” to merge data, is there a way to “mass populate” link records instead of manually selecting each record?

I’m about to bring on a couple of users for a base that I’ve developed for them. But I’m a little confused about how to manage this. I want these new users — let’s call them Ann and Ben — to have their own individual accounts. I want them to have to log in with separate passwords, so I can get the right values into the “Created By” and “Modified By” fields, and so that they can see each other as users when they’re writing targets ("@BenBenson", etc). If possible I would like to create the accounts for them, so that I can assign them passwords. (This is something I can do as a FileMaker developer. Is this even possible with Airtable? Is there any way to be sure that users have reasonably strong passwords protecting their accounts?) And I want to be responsible for paying for their accounts. #1 and #3

Hi Community!! I am trying to change a few fields to summarize the checked boxes that match a specific criterion (same campaign name). I have a table that shows the statistics of our campaigns (first screenshot). I am currently updating the MQL, discovery call booked, Demo booked, etc. fields manually on the “Stats” table according to the data on the “Contacts” table (second screenshot). I tried solving it using linked records, but with no success… Any ideas on how to solve this? Thank you!!!

Hi, I have a design request form for my coworkers to submit the dates they would like for their project to be designed. Is there a way they can select multiple dates that are not connected, like 8/3, 8/5 & 8/6? Right now I have them filled in as a single line, but ideally I can see it in the calendar view with the dates selected.

Hello everyone Is anyone else having issues displaying a calendar from Airtable within Outlook Exchange? I’m trying to to sync a calendar view with my work email, which is on outlook exchange server and I cannot get it to display properly at all. I took the “Sync to an External Calendar” link from the shared view tab for my calendar and followed all the proper steps to link it with my exchange account. When the calendar shows up it’s completely empty. This was working a few months ago but stopped working for me at the top of September. Has anyone else had similar issues?

Hi everyone - question here. I run a hostel that has different types of rooms. I have a table set up with a realtime feed of new bookings coming in. I have another table set up with room specs. I want to use the second table to analyse data in the first, for instance revenue per room type, which I can then combine with the SQM of the room for example, to see what room type works best. How do I filter and display revenue per room type (or avg stay, or whatever else) from one table into another?
