I have a table with a column that links to another record. This column allows linking multiple records. Is it possible to create a form where people can select records and add a comment on them? I want to be able to link a record with a comment.
Hi Airtable Community! I’d love to create an automation from Table A, so that when I click “Send Invoice,” it will update all the records of Table B by changing the “Sent Invoice to Client” from “No” to “Yes”. I believe I’m stuck because I’m trying to pull a string of Record IDs from Table A’s lookup field and then update the Record IDs as individual rows in Table B. Is there a way to do this? Thanks so much for all your help!!! Cameron!!! Screen Shot 2021-02-12 at 3.06.51 PM|700x283
Now that I’m on a Pro plan with more tools available to me, I’m trying to eliminate a spreadsheet from my workflow because all the data in it stems from AT. Surely, AT must have the ability to summarize all of this for me. I have a table in my base where I track what I’m working on each day. I can have multiple records with the same date. I then use views to get a summary for a specific date or for a whole month. I can see my total earnings and time worked for that view at the bottom. Is there a way to link to those numbers in another table so that I can then use those numbers to do some calculations? The only way I’ve figured out how to get to what I want to do is a combo of a linked field and a roll-up, but the linked field can have dozens of records I have to add manually, so I could miss one. It would be so much easier if that record field could immediately link to the summary of a view in another table.
Hi - I’ve created a shared view of a table but it doesn’t seem like the shared view gives access to linked field data (linking to another table in the base). I suppose this makes sense. Is there a setting I can use to change that?
I am unable to find way to view all the collaborators for the workspace where I am the owner. When I go to permissions using share and selecting “Add or Manage Collaborators” it only show me as “owner” simply says “there are 7 collaborators not shown above” with no apparent way to show them.
Is there a way to show a dotted line relationship in the org chart app?
Hello, I am not sure how to word this and did not find any topics that matched what I wanted to achieve, so I wanted to ask if this is possible. We track all of our orders within one table. Each order has a unique name. That name comes from a ticketing system. (Example REQ0000001) We have a team of about five people who pick these orders to ship off to customers. I am often asked what is on the order because sometimes all the fields don’t populate correctly on the ticketing system. What I am trying to achieve is a self-serve user portal, where the team can type the request number and they are shown the line items of the order. I guess like the opposite of a form entry, but instead a record lookup. Any ideas would be appreciated. I am guessing, I might have to use a third-party app to achieve this.
How would you set up a database to show the latest and historical use of resources? I run a monthly photo competition. We have one to four judges score the images submitted. I’d like to be able to enter the month and year each judge participates. When I look at my list of judges, I’d like to be able to see when the last time was they participated. I’d also like to be able to see the history of how often they’ve participated over at least a few years. I don’t want to have the same judges participating too often, but I also want to be able to see who has been available if I need to replace someone in a hurry. What kind of field or fields would I need to set up in my database of judges to be able to quickly see this information? Is there a field type where I can enter a list of participation dates? Thanks for your help! Vicki
New user. Just started exploring my base and looking at the community for best practices, but unable to find a simple way to do the following: I have 5 tables in my base, and of course I can see all records in each table. I need for a user to have a similar base as mine, with the 5 tables, but only view/edit their assigned records in each table. One solution I’ve seen is to filter, but it looks like the user can just unfilter and view/edit all records if they so choose. Is this not possible? Still trying to decide if this application with be a viable solution for our company. Cheers
I have an embedded sheet on a page on my Carrd.co site (http://database.hoobastonks.com/). It is password protected. The flow to unlock it works great on desktop (Chrome browser). But on mobile (iPhone - both Chrome and Safari) it is broken. I click the link to enter password and the page kinda freaks out and reloads. Help?
Hi there, I have two plugins in my Wordpress WooCommerce installation and some product attributes which I like to pass on to AirTable. I’m struggling to find a good way to do this. Delivery or Collection Date (generated by “Order Delivery Date Pro for Woocommerce” plugin) gift-message (generated by WooCommerce Checkout Field Editor) And also product attributes (not sure if they appear or not in the field mappings as default) I am looking at Integromat and Zapier as possible connections at the moment but not sure whether they support these fields. I’d love to hear any experience or comments you have :slightly_smiling_face:
Hi there ! I have 3 tables : CONTACT LEADS ADMINISTRATIVE FOLLOW If the customer pick one service in the table contact, I have multiple field checkbox set up to check to follow the process for this specific service (in the administrative follow table). Then i have a SUM formula that counts the number of checkbox checked to see task completion. This part works well and is perfect for me. Service 1 : needs to get 10 checkbox checked to be completed Service 2 : needs to get 14 different checkbok checked to be completed Service 3 : needs to get 20 differents checkbox checked to be completed Question is : How would you set up when a customer select let’s say 2 services (or 3) to affect the necessary checkboxs to show ? and then add a global task completion ? Any clue ? thanks !
How can I fix it?
Hi, I’ve got the form embedded in my website and that has been absolutely fantastic, but i find the load time absolutely astounding-- its at something like seven seconds. I wonder if this is because we get so many form fills-- there are 1000 responses-- or whether it’s inherent to the form being embedded in auto-sized height view. I’ll just link the responses to another base if that’s the case, i just don’t want to flaff around if it ends up being Wordpress, my OceanWP theme or the Elementor page builder. Thanks!
We use airtable to keep track of our clients and their projects. The clients place an order, and all the information appears in our airtable. We would love to have a way for our employees to update specific jobs without having access to the airtable. Ideally, if they could fill out a form and put a specific job # in that it would match the existing job and change the status of the job and assign their name to the job, that would be ideal. The goal is instead of giving them entire access to the airtable, they are only able to view and make specific requests. We want them to only have the ability to assign themselves and change the status of a job.
Hi there, How can I cancel the free trial that is automatically implimented when signing up for Airtable? I want to try the unpaid version first to get used to it and see if it is something I want, then if it is, go to the trial, and then to the purchase. Do I have to just wait for the 14 days for the trial to end? Thanks in advance.
HI All I am wanting to have a trigger set for a reminder to follow up on a job/task, eg; when something is urgent i want it flag me every day, important every 3 days, general every 7 days, once i have followed up and changed the dates of last follow up. I can’t seem to get the trigger to work when i’m trying to set up in automations.
Hey all, can anyone say if it is possible to export to excel sheet and have the links for the photos made clickable inside the excel sheet. For now, I understand that the links comes as a text and if you take more than one photos for each line item it comes as a single text. Can I make this split into two columns or at least make it clickable? Thanks in advance.
I’m looking to write a formula that notifies me if there are duplicates of a certain field. There are other unique values in the spreadsheet, so I’m not looking to merge or delete them, but I want to be notified if a certain cell is not unique. I do this in Excel with: =COUNTIF($B$2:$B2, B2)>1 Is there any manner to do this in AirTable? From what I’m seeing, lookup and rollup options that have been suggested in the community require an additional table and I’m looking to do this from the same table. Thanks
The Situation: I want to have a single form with multiple task options and the questions to change in the form accordingly. For ex- If X chooses task Y then the questions in the form should be related to task Y. Similarly if X chooses task A, then questions should change based on the task picked. Having multiple forms/tabs for these tasks is not helping much. I know I can have different task options when I choose “multiple select” but the changing of questions is my need.
Hello, is it possible to create a script that automates an application I already have? Essentially I have an application that will convert a URL to an attachment, but would like to have it run on a script instead of having to click the button multiple times a day to get it to run. Code for the application currently is: let settings = input.config({ title: "Convert URLs to attachments", description: `This script will download all attachments from a URL into an attachment field. The source field can be a URL field or any text field containing a URL. Each cell should only contain a single URL.`, items: [ input.config.table("table", { label: "Table" }), input.config.field("urlField", { parentTable: "table", label: "URL field", }), input.config.field("attachmentField", { parentTable: "table", label: "Attachment field", description: "URLs will be downloaded into this field", }), ], }); async function convertURLsToAtta
Hello there, Thanks in advance for your time reading this. We do have a database where we integrated the app Kuovonne which provides a formula for a pre-filled feedback form. We can use a specific link/URL that we send to the person who should provide their feedback related to a specific record. Unfortunately the feedbacks show up in the same database, so we have lot of duplicates. Do you have an idea how we can collect them in a different sheet in the same database? Thanks a lot for your help! Reg. Sabine
I want to use AirTable for Workflow (Quotation > Process > Archive) + to get Product list from same base. Because of Record limitation per Base (we use ~ 4000 records per year) - the only way is Pro Plan (50.000 per base)? Or I can go with Plus Plan (5000 records per base) using multiple Bases for collecting data from many years? In example one Base could be for Processing, other Bases for Archive (each for specific year). And for each product type - own Base. Is there any way to automatically extract just records with product type “Book” to Base “Book”?
I feel like this question has been asked by multiple users, but I still find myself confused. Here’s what I’m trying to accomplish: A content calendar where the first table is sort of an “overview” with status, series, episode number, etc. linked to multiple other tables which include different types of content. I say multiple tables because different types of content have different fields. For example, a blog post in classic list format is going to have an intro, list items, and conclusion. Whereas a detailed case study blog post will have vastly different fields. So - I have multiple different tables, each containing a unique set of fields for that type of content. I would like to be able to pick records from any of those tables for my linked record on the overview table (which is the table where I order episodes and update the status of content).
Hi Airtable community, formula specialists! How can I use: A fixed start date (e.g. 07/15/2019) A #-of-days to execute estimate (e.g. 7) WORKDAYS_DIFF()… to generate an “Est. Delivery Date” that adds a number of days to the start date, treating weekends as “unavailable”? The acceptance criteria here would be that the forumla returns “07/23/2019” or “07/23/2019 12:00” is fine. Bonus if the formula can take a decimal rather than an integer for “# Days” for the purpose of supporting half-days. (I’d never get more granular than half-days.) I’m going to be trying to create this formula myself, but thought the community may want a crack at it, too. Thanks!
