Hello, with the new custom blocks or automation feature, is it possible to make a script that will automatically change a single-select field of all records (or records in a certain view) to a certain value? It serves the same purpose as the batch-update block, but the batch update block runs manually. I’m looking for something that runs automatically at a specified time (e.g. at 12 am every night) with the automation feature or through custom blocks Any help in this will be very much appreciated :slightly_smiling_face:

My base keeps track of where our films are licensed. I can filter and get a list of titles that are available in a specific territory. For example if I need a list of available titles for Italy I tell it to show we me things that don’t have Italy marked. What I want to do now is filter in such a way that I can tell where a film hasn’t been licensed yet in the whole world, to see where the holes are that we can still offer it. Any ideas how I might do this? Thank you!

hi guys! i’m trying to write a script that will check my google calendar for time availability without having to sinchronize my whole calendar. basically when the script input is the date and duration of a project, it fetches the data relative to the presence/duration for an available time slot (using “at work” events in my calendar) on the given date and then assigns a “first available date” to the project based on the presence and duration of said “at work” events any of you know if there is an easy way of implementing the ability for the script block to interface with google api or ical and retrieve the data (presence of an available “at work” event and its duration) ideally this would give me the freedom to move around time slots and the script only checks whenever it is run. the real problem has been making it possible for airtable to go and fetch the data from the calendar. thanks in advance S.

I’m having some trouble navigating in the grid when editing a long text field that has rich text turned on. In a normal long text field, tabbing will take me to the next field. With rich text on, it just inserts a tab. How do you go to the next field from a long text field with rich text enabled?

Hi all, I have been assigned to set up a table through AirTable for a mobile app team I am a part of. I do not have that many technical skills but have used Excel frequently. Unfortunately we are all still learning with AirTable and I have run into an issue that I cannot seem to figure out the answer to. We have a base that contains a table called “Users.” We have configured our API to automatically update this table every time a new user joins and add them to it. I am working on another table in the same base that only lists users and characteristics from specific ZIP codes. The goal is to have this table update in real time so that we can see users from these ZIP codes only instead of digging through the master Users table. I’ll refer to the other table as “ZIPs” for clarity purposes. Hi, I am attempting to add another table in addition to the “furniture” table, say one called “appliances” however I noticed it breaks the entire ordering and pricing section because you can only link one table per field/column. So, for example, it can only grab pricing from the Funiture section and you cannot have any other sections. Has anyone discovered a workaround or a different way yo set up my table? It really does have to have separate tables so my front-end API can pull each table by category.

I’m having a heck of a time trying to create a sort of CRM in Airtable. I have a table for contacts (faculty names) and another table for courses. I’m trying to link the courses table to the faculty table by using the faculty ids from our directory. The goal of this would be for the records to match up so that I can see “so and so is teaching this course and here is their faculty info”. When I “link to a record” and pair the primary key from the faculty table – it automatically creates them new instead of linking to existing. What the heck am I doing wrong here? No matter what order I try and do it in – it always seems to result in that.

Hi, in the screenshot below, i have a start date field and a formula field that give the number of seconds of the moment (an end date field exists but is hidden). I would like to get the duration by day (and/or year/month/week… you get the idea) but can’t find a way to do it automatically. What i tried so far (in the day case): Create a “Days” table with the primary field in the format “YYYY-MM-DD”. It can be populated quickly with auto number field and a formula primary field. Create a “Link to another record” field in the “Moments” table, linked to the “Days” table. Create a rollup field in the “Days” table based on the duration field of the “Moments” table with the sum aggregation function. I’ve got a Master Employee list and am sending out a survey that links to that list with the employee name field. They’ll choose their name from the list on the form, then fill out their information (shirt size, etc.) BUT, my issue comes with the responses. It’s adding them as another entry on my Master List - but I want to know if it’s possible to have their information fill in on the master list, rather than adding a new entry… Anyone have a workaround for this?

I’m considering creating a Wordpress site that would on some pages embed the iframe of an Airtable view, using the embed code that Airtable produces. I’ve testing the embedding and it’s slick–and fast. Love it. But I know that, at least in the past, Google’s ranking algorithms might penalize a site that has iframes in it. I know it may or may not index what is in the iframe, but that’s not really a concern for me. I just don’t want the site being penalized. Is there anyone here that knows much about SEO and the effect of iframes?

Is there any way to link a form response from an external user to an already existing entry in a base? I would want the new info to override the old information (so if someone has a new phone number, they can add it and the old one gets removed)? I would not want their name to be editable though, so that we can link to the correct record. I am managing a list of students for an after school music program. I’m using the “form” view to have students (external users) confirm enrollment for fall 2020 and provide updated contact information. I made the “first name” and “last name” column into single selects, thinking that it would link to their specific record, but the form creates a new entry.

At first, I was thinking of just linking the record, but doing that would make it so I have to fill out the field again. Instead, I would like to push the button, have it run a script that adds the text in column A in one table to column D in another. In addition, it should check a box on the first table that indicates that it’s been pushed over. Any help here would be immensely appreciated.

I have a list of sponsorships at various price points in one tab and I have them linked to my individual clients. I want to create various packages to include several different sponsorships. Is there a way to calculate the total of the individual sponsorships into a package amount total in my master sheet? For Example: Package A for Client Y has 4 sponsorship options. I’d like for it to be able to display the selected sponsorships AND the total of the combined levels. THANK YOU!

Just want to followup on my last post here There are three columns: If the data sits in Airtable is there a way to create an order form that would allow customers to query the database so that he/she is able to select the make, then the model and finally year? There would probably be roughly 4000 rows structured like that.

Hi, new user here. Trying to add a Long Text field with Rich Text enabled. I fill in the field, and everything looks great. But, as soon as I click off of the tab or change tabs, or exit the document… the field is empty when I return to it. Is there something I am missing which “saves” the text I have entered? Not sure what other information you need, but ask and if I can I will provide it. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

I can select a date for bar charts and group by month - great. But if a month has no entries (for example, none of the records has a date in July) then that month is missing in the chart. The chart goes 2020-05 2020-06 2020-08. I would like to show Zero here for 2020-07. Any ideas? Bug or feature?! :slightly_smiling_face:

I have a major problem that I hope is an easy fix. I created a gallery view of news items. I sorted on the primary key (date) with the newest items first. When I publish using the embed feature the gallery posts as expected using the proper sort with newest first. When I add an item, the gallery goes back to oldest first. This is not good for my site. It makes it seem like I have all old data because it starts at the oldest record at the bottom. The scroll bar is not easy to see so a lot of customers just go on their merry way. This is quite impactful. How do I get the sort to hold?

Is there a method for taking a column of information or parts of and by clicking a box moving over to a new Table? What I doing is building a Casting database. 1st Table has all the actors listed by Age, Sex, Ethnicity. This page has pictures and contact numbers. I want to be able to go in check the ones I want to consider for a job, then have the checked ones duplicate over to a new Table. (Table 2) From here I have the director rate A,B,C their choice. Once we have contracted one of their, we would click another box and move those ones alone over to a new table (Table 3) “Contracted”. Is this kind of linking or moving information possible in Airtable?

I can’t figure this out: It’s about a voting system to vote for songs a specific artist should play on a specific event/date. I need to gather and visualize a chart with these votes for each event/date. I can get record entries in a table “Votes”. A “Vote” has 10 columns for 10 questions that can be 0 or 1. It also contains a name, date and can be linked to an “Event” The other table is called “Events”. An “Event” is bound to a Date and typically only has one artist. I need to sum up all votes per event. In a 3rd table i have the “Artists”. Each artist has 10 values for the questions, which contain specific song_names for that artist. So voting for Event A with artist B will have different voting values (read = song titles) than voting for Event B with artist C. So i just get 1 or 0 values in a “Vote”-record. Most important is
