Hi, I have a small business selling my own embroidery kits. I want to produce a detailed list of the contents of each kit, so when i need to make up more kits, I know exactly what goes into each one. Each kits has multiple thread colours of differing amounts. I want to include the thread number and the amount of thread for that number, for example, colour 386, 2m, colour 000, 1m and so on. At the moment the kits have limited numbers of threads and so I could just add multiple columns (thread 1, thread 2 etc), but once I get past 5 or so colours this may become onerous and unwieldy. Is there an alternative anyone can suggest?

Hey Guys, I want to plot submission on a map. It is all working fine, however when you click ‘expand record’ it displays all the information from the record. We don’t want this. We have hidden fields and made a new view - and the set the block up from this view but we still get ALL the record info. Any thoughts on how best to get around this as we can t have customer info displaying?

I have added a formula IF({Töö sisu} = “Hooldus”, “17”,IF({Töö sisu} = “Transport”, “7”, “”)) and the result is not a number so I cant format it nor can I use sum function. I need the 7 to be 7€ so I can count the sum.

I love the idea behind editing field permissions but I think I’m missing the concept. I hope someone can answer a few questions or give me an example of how they are using this new feature. Thanks in advance. Is there a way to allow someone to fill in the “blocked” field? Preferably without using forms. I see potential in the field restriction for an issue we currently have. When a team member inputs project details to send to a 3rd party vendor to price - they are going back and editing these details AFTER they submit the form to the vendor. This is a huge no, as it could cause problems later since the quote will not match the original details. The only way I can think to avoid this and use the field editing restrictions is by using a form to write up the initial project details then prevent a change on the actual table. Ideas or suggestions? If a field is restricted what keeps a blocked user from deleting the record? Am I missing something here? I would love to see how others are

Hey there, I’m currently using Excel to manage my family budget and forecast, I’m wondering if Airtable might be a good solution do use instead to help me find insights and manage the updates. Hi Airtable! I created an iOS shortcut to have Notes sent to Mail and GMail as emails snd then added to my Airtable base. I have most of it setup. I just have a few questions. When I run the shortcut I keep getting previews, for each Note and email message and I have to tap “okay” each time, for both. Is there a way that I could eliminate these previews? I am trying to get the first line of each Note to also appear in the Subject line for each email. Is there a way to have all new Notes automatically get sent to Mail and Gmail, a day or so after the Note has been created? Thank you, Mary Kay

Hi All, In my base there are several fields which I’d like to appear in the form but not be editable. Whichever combination I use to secure these Field’s permissions results in the information in these fields blank when the form is sent out. The only way to display the Field’s content is to set the permissions either to Editors and above or Creators and above. If the field is set to specific users or nobody, then the field is blank in the form. How can this be fixed? Important caveat: the form is sent out using miniExtensions’ “Edit Existing Records with Airtable Form” so I can insert information in a specific record and send out a link to a form to other people in my organization to insert data (in only specific fields that I’d like, while the others are restricted to them). I’m dismayed that Airtable doesn’t yet have the option to Send Record… As Form Link. Thanks, all suggestions are highly welcome.

I have a list of projects (~25) and a list of mentors (~5). Each project has a couple mentors on it who meet with the team for mentor sessions and want to track notes. Is there an easy way to include a field that associates notes with a specific mentor for that project? To be clear, one mentor can be the mentor for multiple projects.

I’m struggling with working out a few thinks with the Gantt block. The problem I’m having with the Gantt is that it runs off a start date and an end date, which so far are manual entry. So the current plan is laid out roughly right, but it’s based on my own working out, which is going to be full of human error type issues. The next step is to automatically generate the end date based on the epic estimates, which is what I’m trying to figure out now but would appreciate some pointers and help from the community. Then I want to cross reference the launch date of my product on the Gantt with the date in the “releases” sheet to ensure they’re the same. At the moment they are not. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I’m trying to figure out if I can create x number of new records based on input from a numerical field of another record. So for example, if a customer fills in a form for 7 cakes, this will trigger the creation of 7 new cake records in another table. I’ve been trying to figure this out with Paths on Zapier, but to no avail. I have a feeling this might be doable using Code by Zapier, but coding is very much outside of my current skill level (although willing to learn if someone can point me in the right direction!). And apologies in advance if I’m incorrectly using this forum. I am relatively new to Airtable as well as the community. Thank you!

Hi guys, I upgraded to the pro account so I could send my customers to a custom URL after they complete my form. However, in every browser I try, the re-direct isn’t working and the page is being blocked. Obviously I am not happy with this as it was the main reason I upgraded and it is important that the re-direct works correctly, so the customer gets the closing information required. I’ve seen this question asked for 4 years. Has it been addressed? Is there a way to restrict editors from seeing certain business sensitive columns … e.g. employees don’t need to see profit and loss columns but do need to edit other data.

Hello. I am new to Airtable and am trying to “convert” an existing capacity planning & forecast spreadsheet into the Airtable platform. At this time, I have two main data sets that I must integrate. First: I have an employee work capacity (hrs/day) that I need to have the capability to dynamically update with expected attrition, holidays, new hires, reductions in hours due to school schedules, etc. with an outlook over the next year. Second: I also have a large database of projects that contains the expected work requirement (hrs/project) for each project with defined delivery dates. Separately, each of these seem to be possible to create and manage in Airtable. However, my challenge starts with the integration. I need the capability to start at Day X (let’s say it is June 1st), pull the projects that are due around that time, pull the daily work capacity around that time, work back from the delivery date of the project to determine the start date based on the available capac

I would like to use a form to get information from external users to my table, the form as a field that connects to another table and gets information from that table to this one by some lookup fields, by i need to show the lookup fields in the form, is this possible? like an example, i have a field in the form that shows a list of cars, when the user selects the car i would like to have a read only field visible in the form with for instance the cars licence number. thanks!

Hello, I am developing a dock check-in and punchlist combination tool for some of our employees. The gist is that of the primary tables, one (let’s call it Dock Check) is to be a list of each item, summarizing their quantities and listing every room in which the specific item is to be placed. The second of the primary tables (let’s call it Punch List) is organized by room, and lists each item in the room. I want a field in Dock List to return every room in which the item is listed on the Punch List. I can’t determine if I’m just having trouble with the logic or if this isn’t a possibility in Airtable. The only supplemental table presently is a rooms table, which just lists the room #, room name, and department. Thank you in advance for your help!

Our team relies on slack notification for updated records in an Airtable base. However some updates are preceded by "**skipping 1 record Update in 1 table ** even though we aren’t updating the table too frequently (perhaps one or two edits every minute.) How could I find out which updates have been skipped?

New to airtable, but feel like I’m missing a key feature, hope someone can help. I have a simple two-table one:many relationship, call it customers and orders, where each order is linked to a customer. When I’m browsing the customer table using a Grid View, I have an ‘orders’ column which contains links to all their orders, and I can expand the cell to see a list of those records, and drill into them. But that expanded view is in a fixed format, and I already have several nicely configured Views for looking at orders. So I’d rather be able to switch to one of those Views, filtered to the orders linked by the customer. The best I seem to be able to do now is copy the customer id, manually switch to an order view and filter for that customer id, which seems kind of painful. Similarly vice-versa when I’m browsing orders and have a ‘customer’ column which links to the owning customer, i’d like to be able to jump into a specific customer View showing that customer, or scrolling to them

Is it possible to create a better live experience (ex. Google Docx) where my colleagues and I could see in real time the changes done in a record?

On iPad Pro running Safari with Airtable Desktop, one cannot scroll the screen to see additional records or additional fields beyond the initial screen.

Hi all, have a few bits of Airtable am trying to get to grips with. Am trying to use Airtable as part of a Fitness studio data tracking system form everything from timetable, member base payroll etc. and have a few Qs I’m struggling with! I’m trying to make a system of understanding whether a membership is active or expired in the database (either because all classes are used up or because they have expired). I have a transactions table where all transactions are recorded (i.e. a member comes to buy a package we choose them from the database, record payment, mode of payment etc.) I then have a member database table ( airtable com/shrNoMjaaw9wc3QH9 ) that records all members, and associated data (purchases, attendance etc.) but I’m having a bunch of issues with formulae e.g. Once a package is purchased an expiry date is calculated via formulae (note all in European format - see transactions table [transaction table view example]( airtable com/shr0N872Rkq5NcQVh )) as package pur

Completely new to the application… I have been added as a Team Member in several Bases and been assigned tasks in each base. How do produce a task list for myself of assigned tasks in multiple Bases without having to go into each Base and look for them? Thanks
