I want to share a view with an external collaborator, so they can see a limited set of data from my base. I also want them to be able to update/edit only a single field in those records they can see in their view - ie they cannot create. anew record, then can only update existing records through editing a single field. Is that possible to achieve?

Hello there, newish to AT, i wonder is there a way to set the URL of the attachment field dynamically using code ? i have used the formula field to build a URL to an image, and i know wish to set the URL of the attachment field to that URL ? doable ? thanks in advance for any help you can offer. I’m new to Airtable. Is there a way to mark an ongoing due date so that it shows up in calendar view say every two weeks on the same day? For example, if I need to design and send out an email blast for a client every week on Wednesday, could I somehow mark the record to show up on the calendar every week? Thanks!

I would like to create a daily log to track how often I got up from my desk to take a brief walk. How would I go about counting the number of times I did it? Here’s what I did so far: Row A (“Date”) Column 1 (Checkbox) Column 2 (Checkbox) Column 3 (Checkbox) Column 4 (Inserted this Formula: SUM({Break1}+{Break1}+{Break1}) It seems like overkill, though, to have to create a new column to track each activity. Is there a simpler way I can do this?

I’d like to embed a view of a specific record on another web site. I’d like to specify the record id / view id on the URL so I don’t have to create a custom view for each record, which is a waste of time. Ideally, I’d like to just embed in an < iframe > the expanded view of a specific record in a view. I know I can filter within the view, but can I specify the filter options on the URL of the embedded url?

Hi all i have tried to “send a record” from a couple of my bases both in free workspaces and a pro plan and i never receive the email i get the pop up of the record enter the email and send and that is the last i see of it. is there something i need to set up? or am i not doing something ? I am using Airtable to collaborate with a group of people with varying permission levels. In some instances as we are working on updates to the Base content, we only want certain permission levels to see the updates being made whilst the rest of the Base should still be accessible to the team. Once these updates are complete, I would then want to publish them for all in the Base to see. Ie. is there an option to add things which only certain permission levels can see and which others (with reduced permission levels) who already have access to the Base can not see until it is ‘published’ for others in the Base to view? Hi all, I have one table in a base that I would like specific persons (not necessarily collaborators, but Airtable users) to be able to view (and ideally edit), without granting them any access to the rest of the base. I understand that this is not possible as collaborators have access to the whole base and not parts of it. Let’s call this table “Tasks”. I would like specific employees to be able to see, for example, what tasks they have been assigned, their deadlines and so on, without giving them access to other tables within the base nor all of the linked records in the “Tasks” table, which might contain confidential information. I thought of creating a different base that would be automatically populated only by the said table (“Tasks”) but again linking between bases is not supported (I will have to copy/paste records, which is not quite the idea for what I’m trying to achieve here). Any ideas on how to get around this? Thank you! Crisa

I want to use a project management base and then create reports for the executive team to show our progress. Can I create a report? Can I customize it to an in house standard template or a totally custom report with graphics without leaving Airtable? Thank you in advance for your comments and advise!

Hi there! I see that if you change the end date of a predecessor to end later than the start date of any of its successors, the start dates of those successors will change automatically. However, I’m curious if there’s a way to do two other things. Automatically compress the time between variables to start the next day. For instance, say I’m eager to make a cake and two of my variables are making the batter (which takes me 2 days) and baking the cake (which takes me 1 day). If currently taking the batter is on Monday and baking the cake is on Friday is there a way to shrink this time, so baking the cake would start as soon as making the batter wraps up. Or do I have to do that manually? Automatically have a successors move up in time when you move a predecessor up in time. So, once the two variables are happening the next day. So making my batter would start on Monday, it would take me two days, and then baking the cake would star

Imagine this scenario - I want to create an invoice line. I have a product table of product_code and sales_price. I have the product code and quantity in the invoice line table and want to lookup the sales_price and copy it into the invoice line table field sold_price_each. I can do it with a lookup but that has a problem. If the price of the item changes in future, then the invoice will change after it’s been issued, which is no good at all! I am new to Airtable and cant see a way forward on this one. Any help appreciated.

Hello! New to Airtable, and wanting to explore using the gallery view as a front end for an application catalog of tools available at my company. The gallery view is almost perfect, but I would like to be able to link directly from the gallery card without forcing the user to click on the card, then click on the URL. Is there any way possible to remove the second detail pop-up and have the card directly link to a detail page on our intranet? Can someone please share what formula I would use to update the day for holidays that change each year? For example, MLK Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, etc. all change each year. I’m using a social media calendar template and the current formula is not auto-updating the holiday dates for 2020.

Hey All! Here’s what I’d like to do, not sure HOW… Notify Teams of people at once when a new record is added. I have a list of team members, working on multiple projects. For example: Bob works on project 1 and 2 Bill works on project 1 and 3 Sally works on project 2 and 3 I want to assign people to these projects as a TEAM. For example: Project 1 - Team 1(multiple people linked) Project 2 - Team 2 (multiple people linked) Project 3 - Team 3 (multiple people linked) Then when I add a record - have a field that has TEAM as an option, and when I select Team 1, all people associated with Team 1 would get a notification. The same way as a collaborator field would do but with this Team group. I can see making the groups with people and linking the tables, but how do I get the Team selection to send out the notification. Thanks in advance for any/all help! Cheers

Hello I created already a few Airtable database, although I’m still a newbie :winking_face: Before I start a database and table design, I try to make a drawing on paper, with the different tables, and especially the fields that are linked to another record and those that lookup information in another table. If you get these right, you’re more than halfway :winking_face: Today I still use pen and paper to get the design roughly and with arrows drawn on paper, I can see the relationship between the fields in the tables, before I start programming. My question is : Is there a handy tool, cloud-based and free ;), that would make these drawings and the design of the database easier ? And if this simple tool would have an export to Airtable, so that you have already the database with the relational fields, that would be a great bonus :winking_face: Thanks for your suggestions, Michel
