Hello,I am assessing Airtable as a method to store data that will be used to control a contact centre system. This system will use REST API calls to retrieve data in JSON format. This works ok but I am a bit confused about the Checkbox record type, which seems to be a boolean type, does not act as such for API queries. If the Checkbox is ticked the JSON response contains the filed name and a value of true. If the Checkbox is not ticked the JSON response does not contain the field name. My expectation would be that the JSON response should contain the field name and a value of false. Not having this will cause the parsing of the JSON response to be more complex than I would like. I will have to code for the key:value pair being missing rather than a simple true/false situation. Is there any reason for this working the way it does? How have others coped with this design quirk?
For the last couple of weeks, we've been running into an issue when attempting to scroll down stacks in Kanban views. The view will not scroll when using the mouse scroll wheel or when clicking the scrollbar. It happens at random times, too, with no noticeable pattern. This is happening with multiple users and multiple Kanban views so it doesn't appear to be an isolated issue. On a related note — at the same time that this issue started, we also noticed another issue where it takes much longer to scroll down stacks that are of considerable length (i.e. hundreds of records). This was never an issue up until a couple of weeks ago.Is this a known bug that is being fixed?
Hi, I wonder about how to setup my base for the following?I have a simple Table with a series of records, and each record has a 'SPECIFICATION' field (basically a "YES" / "NO") indicating if we have the spec. for this item:I would just like to somehow summarize if *ANY* of the records there have a "NO" in them? I don't need a count or anything like that, just a flag or note or something to say if ANY items are incomplete? Is this possible somehow? Can I show this another 'Summary' Table in some manner?thanks for any suggestions!@Ed12_p_may
I have a list of elements in a single table I want to be able to demonstrate many-to-many relationships between them. I created a linked record to select elements, but it doesn't update in the record for the selected elements. How do I get it to appear in both places? In the screenshot below, when I link "Element A" to "Element B" and "Element C", I want "Element A" to populate in "Element B" and "Element C" records too.But "Element C" also needs to link to "Element A" and "Element D" and "Element D" needs to link to "Element E".How do I set up this kind of relationship within a single table?
I guess this related to an integration, but it's not an integration-specific question. We have records that typically accompany a unique number. Sometimes, we will have a record that doesn't have a number. To identify them as records where we've thoughtfully considered them to be records associated with no number, we want to use 0000 as the default, where a single 0 might mean we just forgot to enter the appropriate number. I'm using a Number field currently -- and I think the field needs to be a number field for the integration. Is there a way to get a Number field to display 0000 instead of 0?
Hi everyone, I’m a big fan of Airtable, but its lack of a spelling/grammar checker is causing me some grief. Grammarly (Chrome extension) would seem to be the perfect answer. However, it doesn’t work. At all. This is weird because it works well on other sites with text input fields - including, incidentally this community site (I can see Grammarly flagging errors in this as I type :slightly_smiling_face: ). Does anyone know a way of getting Grammarly to work on Airtable Grid view fields or indeed another solution? Thanks!
Hi all,I am using a Matix extension. How would a user search for a value in the matrix?Using Control F only shows (and highlights) matching values that are visible on the screen (even if the value exists, but not visible on screen).Any ideas? I recall a chrome extension that may help but have to search. Thanks,Paul
How do I change the part of my bio that says "5 - Automation Enthusiast"? I may have selected that option when I signed up as to the Community but that description is no longer accurate. Thanks!
When sharing the interface and a user requests access, the email with the access request link is not being delivered. The user is not receiving the email containing the necessary link for their access request. Could you please look into this issue and assist in resolving it? Swift resolution is essential for our workflow.
Hi there,I have an AirTable base that has been used for over 3 years. The original creator (owner) has not accessed it for over 2 years and now is no longer with the organization. How can I move the permissions, so someone else has owner designation? Thanks in advance,-Robert
I have a collaborator that I successfully down graded to read only. They have left the organization and I want to remove them. I am also planning on going from free to team and I do not want to pay for this person. I believe they are a workspace collaborator. How do I remove them to not have any access to my Airtable workspaces and bases and not get billed for them after upgrading? Thanks, Scott
Hi,I am new to Airtable, so finding my way...We are developing a simple CRM in Airtable which will include contact information for individuals. We intend this to be the single repository of contact details for our small team of <10 people. We would like the basic contact details (name, company, email, phone) to be synced out (one way) from Airtable to each team member's Microsoft 365 account so the contact details are available in Outlook and also then on their iPhone etc.I've tried setting something up with Make.com, but (a) it seems quite cumbersome for what I imagine is a very common desire for anyone building a CRM; and (b) it seems hard to make it work across multiple users, as it relies on creating an entire Make.com workflow for each user, which is not really practical.Am I missing anything?!Thanks,James
Hello everyone, I had created a form ( application) in Airtable to take register vendors for a farmers market. I am at full capacity and need to temporarily pause the application ( form link) that has been widely circulated. I want to start a waitlist of some sort that will be stored in a separate base. any suggestions will be helpful. thank you,
Hello everybody,I am trying to create my first table on Airtbale and I cannot create a table which includes the names of my clients and for each of them, the dates of the declarations to be made each month. I want a calendar view that tells me, for example, that on the 23rd of each month of the year, VAT returns must be made. And when it's done, I'd like to be able to rate it in Airtable. Can you help me ?ps: sorry if I write badly in English, I am French
Is there a reason why you don't need to verify your email address to access Airtable? I was shocked to discover this isn't a requirement. I have an interface set up so that only the current user can view sets of information, but I found that it's possible for someone to create an Airtable account with someone else's email and view the information associated with that email address. Email verification is not required to access the interface and see data that should only be seen by the actual user. Are there plans to address this? Is anyone using a workaround to make this more secure? Is it related to being on the Team plan?
Looking to export our base to import into Amazon. Can't find any such how to's or instructions. Thank you,~TCT_TTO
Team, I know in Project/program management “Gantt Chart” is often thought as the best tool to show and manage dependencies, but was curious if there are any other methods that are more useful. Most of our projects are related to Digital and Business transformation. I have seen some examples of network diagram, dependency maps etc. Wanted to see if some one has used it effectively and share best practices? Thanks
Hi Is there a way to filter records by the current user? E.g. I have 100 users, and a tasks table. I’d like to have one kanban view that show’s to each user their own tasks. I know I can filter by particular user, but that means I need to maintain 100 views, one for each user.
I have 3500 STATUS options (added by a mistaken cut/paste.)How do I delete them (without clicking the X 3500 times?Thank you
I started with help from this support topic: Formula help for an IF(logical, value1, value2) Formulas So I’m using a formula in a column to pull data for another table. This is my formula: IF({Test Type} = “CAT 1”, {Date Only}) Which is basically: If the test type is CAT 1, then display the date from the ‘date only’ column. My problem is this… sometimes tests are both CAT 1 AND CAT 5, but I still need it to pull the data. So what I really need is IF test type CONTAINS CAT 1, then display the date from the ‘date only’ column. I used Fieldbook before Airtable and in that instance I was told t… But I need some help matching a partial string. In my example: Students have a set of “awarded units”, which is a lookup field with multiple values. Those values are matched on a second table to return the “current equivalent” unit, this result is returned in a string. I then want a set of fields, each dedicated to single unit, to test whether or not that unit e
Hi. I'm not sure if this it the right place to ask. At the moment, I handle all the Airtable development, base design, formulas, etc.I would like to start looking into delegating this to a third-party, in order to be able to focus on other aspects of the business. My concern is how to do this in a way which safe-guards both my data, and as well the functionality of the existing base. How can one control if any third-party knowingly/unknowingly breaks down part of the base? I assume any such third party would need Creator access, which would give them full access to everything. My concern is not access to data, but making sure that nothing breaks.Apart from Airtable, we also use heavily Make (ex-Integromat) as well as Softr for an internal portal. While I know that Airtable has snapshots, which one can recover to - one of the issues is that Airtable recovers into a new seperate base. Hence, any scenarios of Make would not be linked to the recovered base, and it would be quite a nig
So, I'm pretty new to no code apps and have unsuccessfully tested several other products for this feature. Can Airtable perform this feature? I've poked around the community but couldn't find anything, feel free to describe it like I'm 5. Any help is appreciated...I'm trying to build a calculator app off of an existing excel model where a user can populate months worth of records into the app and then the app runs through the calculations to find a forecast of the data and gives some output, values, chart etc. The ideal method is that a user would copy and paste from XLS, website or TXT files and just paste into an "input form" or grid/table and then the app would calculate. Here is a basic version of the setup...Date (user input) Widget Production (user Input) ------> Calculations and Output3/1/2010
I have a small team plan with 3 accounts users and pay on one credit card. However, there is a base where I need to collaborate externally. If we have a paid plan, can our external partner collaborate/edit our base for free? If not, can they create their own separate account and pay but still be able to collaborate/edit our base?I am trying to avoid the need to put them on my payment plan? Please recommend the best course of action for external partners.
Hi there,Just wanted to see and confirm, that after duplicating a database, if you delete any records in the duplicate, it doesn't impact the original database, i.e. that you don't delete records in the original. I feel they are both separate entities, but wanted to make sure.Thanks,-Robert
Hi all, I need to build a form to collect a person’s name and email address but when they sign up a small application fee is also collected. I am thinking of using Stripe or Braintree for payment processing. The key question here is where will the backend database be hosted? On Stripe/Braintree or on Airtable or on both? Another angle w.r.t the same question: how to go about making a form that accepts a payment? Have you done this before? If so, how did you do it? Thank you so very much, Freedom.
