Hello everyone! I created a 2-way Google Calendar realtime sync Airtable app for myself and thought that this might be helpful for others as well. Let me know if you would be interested in using it - happy to share.
I would like to see added a new condition that would allow an automation to stop at a certain point if conditions are met. Currently, I feel like I need to create a script to do that. Unless there is another method that I don’t see?
When an automation kicks in and creates records in a linked table, it seems as if the linked records in the interface doesn’t get refreshed. Am I the only one seeing this happen?
Hi, tried to script “show size of all attachments in all base”, and after debugging with “check null”, “check empty array”…“check array of nulls” still get unexpected result. Investigation discovered rare bug ( I checked several huge tables with tens thousands of attachments, and that’s just in one record) I suppose it’s an interupted upload result, but I surprised it exists there. Can’t be downloaded, guided to other storage. Link is not working. No problem, just to inform. I discovered that script is useless. Airtable detects similar docs and store once, with linking the same. Btw, it’s an answer to @itoldusoandso post https://community.airtable.com/t/if-same-attached-document-image-in-two-tables-within-the-base-does-it-double-the-size-of-the-base/33770?u=alexey_gusev I’m gonna to rewrite my script using Map data type, with url as key, so it will display correct total size. Sadly, it can’t use recursion used in “sum” function In case someone interested, i can put the source here.
You no longer need to understand APIs to use the Data Fetcher app! Simply choose the application you want to import data from and select any options. You can install the latest Data Fetcher here. The following applications are available: Facebook Ads Google Analytics Google Search Console Webflow Adalo Binance Coingecko CoinMarketCap Alpha Vantage Clearbit Microlink (create screenshots, PDFs from URLs) ApiFlash (create screenshots from URLs) exchangerate.host Lots more applications will be added over the next few weeks. hey everyone! wanted to share a resource we put together. if anyone here’s thinking about using Airtable as a CMS - here’s how we did it. lmk if you have any questions! :slightly_smiling_face: https://www.whalesync.com/blog/using-airtable-as-a-cms
Does anyone have a super automated process for turning the data in a record into a formatted, multi-page document and then attaching it to the record? Using a button field in the flow would be fine, but I don’t want a new tab created. I don’t mind using Integromat, but want to avoid Google drive modules if possible.
Setting default values on fields has been a long-time request from Airtable users. Set defaults on fields Product Suggestions Simply the ability to set a default on fields other than numeric On a date, the obvious is Today On a string, just set a default value What are default values in fields? When you create new records (or update existing ones), you probably have multiple fields that need to have the same data every time. Default values allow you to add information to your field only 1 time. Then, each time a new record is created, that field automatically fills in with the data. You don’t have to go in and complete every single field that needs information. It’s done for you! :star: We created an easy way to set default values in your Airtable records with On2Air Amplify Here’s how: P.S. Amplify can also set defaults on previously created records! :star: Try it out by adding it to your Airtable base from the marketplace: A
So I’m a little bit “paranoid” and I wanted to backup my Airtable data into Google sheets, because… you never know :slightly_smiling_face: . I used Google Script Apps for this. The script allows you to define one or more tables and views to import along with possible attachments. The script is uploaded on GitHub: GitHub - robiningelbrecht/airtable-google-sheets-backup: This script allows you to backup your Airtable data to Google sheets.

Hi everyone, I have asked support for some guidance, perhaps some examples or white papers on how to deal with Purchase Orders, but so far, no response. So in the meantime, I am hoping to get information from the community. Besides of having couple (or more tables) to store the Purchase Orders and its PO Lines, I need to create the Input form to enter a PO and of course, a print out. I have played with Forms, but I don’t see how to display the master-slave tables so the user can enter as many items as they want. Is this possible in Airtable or does it need to done outside of the environment? Thanks in advance. Robert
Hello, An interesting use case for Airtable can be curating data for others and selling access to it. Curating data can save time for someone, and it might be valuable if the data serves a business goal such as lead generation. There are untapped niches in every kind of data that are still good ideas to pursue, if you make it focused on a specific audience. Airtable makes it very easy to curate and update such data with bases and views. An example to the above is this one, built with Airtable, and made specifically for agencies to find new clients. We’re not affiliated but found this to be a great example to the thesis. If you don’t have coding skills or access to developers, we’ve added a nocode embed capability to our tool SaaSBox, to launch such a curated data service as the above. Airtable does have some limitations for protecting data through a paywall, such that when you share an Airtable base, all the data in it are accessible. We solved this problem by creating views with diffe
Hey all  , we’re really thrilled to be able to share this with you - we’ve just raised our 1st funding round at Codemap! We want to say a huge THANK YOU to the Airtable community for all the support over the past year since our launch - what a journey this has been! Our story so far is just another proof of how game-changing no-code is - keep on building! :raised_hands: With 2021 soon coming to an end, we also wanted to share a helpful resource and a showcase of what our community on Codemap has been working on over the past year and beyond - last week we released the largest curated database of 800+ no-code projects built by experts & teams on Codemap. The builds are categorized by types, stacks, and many more others key parameters, so you can discover what others are building with Airtable and how! Check out the showcase here to get ideas for your current or next build! Don’t hesitate to share any thoughts or feedback with us. Wishing everyone a great remainder of the y
Hey Airtable community  It’s time for this weeks updates at Softr. We have rolled out a number of new updates this week we would love to share with you. :new: Improved Airtable Formatting We are always keeping a close eye on any new updates to Airtable’s API to bring Softr customers the best experience. Thankfully Airtable recently provided a number of formatting improvements so we jumped at the opportunity to bring you these changes asap. These improvements include: • Improved date and time formatting • Support for currency symbols and decimal places • Display of linked records without the need for lookup fields :page_facing_up: Reorder Pages Previously when adding new pages we stacked them in alphabetical order. However, over time, with larger applications, organising and navigating to your pages in the studio could become cumbersome. Starting from today you can now reorder your pages. It’s the small things in life that make a difference and this is no exception Simply gr

Hi all, As I’ve noticed on the community forum it’s a common issue so I decided to share with you our solution on “ How to add a card to a filtered Kanban view for staff member ”. We use Airtable as a project management tool that consolidates financial and operational data. It means we work project based and one or more people work on a project. For planning our work we use Kanban views to followup tasks. For management and time-tracking reasons we want to bundle all tasks from all staff in one database. This results in a filtered Kanban view per staff member. Unfortunately, when you simply filter on a staff member (linked to another table) and try to add a card to the Kanban view, the card will disappear because the staff member is not automagically linked to the card when you add it. Solution Instead of filtering on a linked value, filter on a “Created by” field. Because this is an automated field, the card will remain visible in the filtered Kanban view. Hope this helps! Any feedb
Hi all, As I’ve noticed on the community forum it’s a common issue so I decided to share with you our solution on “How to add a new record in a view filtered on a lookup value”. We use Airtable as a project management tool that consolidates financial and operational data. It means we work project based and one or more people work on a project. It results in big tables where for example financial data is filtered per project (which is a lookup value from another field). Because this filter is applied on a lookup value, the record disappears when you add a record because it fails to fill in the field automagically. Solution Thanks to the recently introduced nested filtering, we have found a solution which makes use of some kind of “timer”. By filtering on the timer and an automated “Created by” field, this record will stay visible for the user who inputs it. The following steps should be followed: Add a “Created by” field Add a “Created” field Add a “Last modified” field Add a formula w
I’m surprised I am the first to reference this comprehensive and noteworthy effort by the folks over at Sync Inc. blog.syncinc.so The Complete Developer's Guide to Airtable A deep dive into all the ways to build on Airtable. But even more impressive - the authors entirely resisted plugging their own SQL technology until a very brief mention of it at the end of this very lengthy and detailed blog post - true professionals who value and appreciate content over cash. Take a read - you’ll probably bookmark this and use it as a reference until they make it into a book.

Hey folks! I use Airtable for literally everything. I’m constantly making new apps and automating processes for everything I do, whether it’s business or even just tracking personal stuff like gym progress. One thing that I had always wanted for a long while has been to have the ability to create some really customized views of my Airtable data on a website. Specifically, to bring some more interactivity to my tables and connect some of them to the outside world more easily. I wanted a way of hooking Airtable up to the web where I could use HTML/CSS to creatively display the data and let users interact with it. Basically, I wanted to be able to quickly prototype simple web apps utilizing Airtable as a backend, without the fuss of having to do a whole bunch of programming and maintaining a server for each new project I started. I checked out a handful of existing solutions, but none of them did exactly what I wanted. So now almost 6 months later… introducing: SheetDream! Check it out at
Hey Airtable community  It’s time for this week’s updates at Softr. We have rolled out a number of new updates this week we would love to share with you. :new: Additional Sign-up Block Fields Starting from today you can now add additional fields to the Sign-up block. We have now created a powerful sign-up block that connects seamlessly with Airtable to fit all your needs. You can now capture additional fields, including: • Single line text • Long text • Dropdown • Phone number • URL • Files • Multi-select dropdown • Hidden Fields • Date • Date & Time • Checkbox But it doesn’t stop there. The next most anticipated feature which dovetails perfectly with this new functionality is waiting for you below  :bust_in_silhouette: Updated user Account Block This new functionality will allow you to create a richer user profile for users of your application. Better still, you can enable edit permissions and give your users the ability to add additional information to t
The question of how to extract the last name from a combined “first [middle][…] last [suffix]” name string – or the last word from a multi-word string – comes up from time to time. I offer a solution (with caveats) in a reply to a recent support post. My example is name-oriented but could easily be adapted to an arbitrary string. Hope this will save someone some time! Split First and Last Names That's a little more difficult… At heart, the formula would be something like this: REPLACE({Name},1,FIND("~",SUBSTITUTE({Name}," ","~",LEN({Name}) - LEN(SUBSTITUTE({Name}," ","")))),"") That's a little hard to suss out at first glance, so let me break it down, back to front: LEN({Name}) - LEN(SUBSTITUTE({Name}," ","")) gets the difference in length between {Name} and {Name} with all spaces stripped. This gives us the index of the last space in the name, which presumably prefaces the las…
Hello there, I discovered interfaces last week and I’ve been blown away by the opportunities they open. For months I’ve been frustrated by the lack of analytics in Stripe. When I saw Interfaces, I told myself that it could be a good solution to build relevant analytics. So, I’ve built a new database connected to Stripe and created an interface to display the metrics I need, the result is just great. I show it with test data in this video.
This base uses the Unsplash API to search for images and save them to your base for review. The base is published on the Airtable Universe here. To use this base, copy it from the Universe into your workspace. You will need an Airtable Pro account and access to the scripting block to make it work. To get going, go to the Unsplash Developer pages, create an account, then create an Unsplash application. This will create an access key and a secret key for the app (we only need the access key). Open the script block in Airtable, click on “Edit” and replace the access key default string with your access key: Close the script editor and run the script. You will be prompted to enter a search term: Enter your term and click on “Next”. The script will pull 10 images from Unsplash using their API based on your search term. These will be stored in the “Photos” table: For a nicer look, switch to the gallery view: The script saves the image, the image link, the photographer’s name and the searc
