Hi everyone, I hope you’ve been well! I’m Jade, a Product Manager here at Airtable. We’ve got an exciting new feature that is live in Airtable today - you can now deep-link to a specific cell! Prior to this feature being released, users were only able to copy & share the record URL - this wasn’t ideal for bases with a high volume of fields per record. Imagine you want to share a single field with your colleague, but your only option was to copy an entire record with every field! Now with our new feature, you will be able to copy and share links to a specific cell. This simplifies the link sharing experience, as well as make it easier to navigate in a base. Using this feature is simple - right click on the cell you want to share, and click “Copy cell URL”. Now when you navigate to the base using that link, you’ll be brought directly to that specific cell. This feature works in the grid view, as well as the expanded record. We are excited to announce that as of today, the Interface Designer beta is open to everyone, which means you will now be able to create interfaces right from your bases, no code required. What is Interface Designer exactly? Interface Designer lets you build visual and interactive interfaces using your base’s underlying data. By creating custom interfaces for your stakeholders, you can isolate the information that’s critical to them and none of the other details. Piloting a networking program for the month of January! Hi everyone! We are piloting a networking program for the month of January. This is an opportunity for you to connect with like-minded individuals and have meaningful conversations about Airtable. This pilot is limited to the first 100 people who sign-up using this link. You will fill out a questionnaire about the types of professionals you are looking to connect with. Right now the types are Marketing Professionals, Product Ops Professionals, IT Professionals, Developers and/or General Networking.  You will be matched based on compatibility with another member of the community for a 30 minute conversation.  Once you receive your match via email, you'll be prompted to choose a meeting time that works for you. Happy February! We’re excited to announce that our new remoteFetchAsync function is now live within the Scripting App. One of the most common issues we see users run into when writing scripts is in trying to use the fetch API to communicate with an external service. Because Scripting App scripts run directly in the user’s browser, fetch requests will be blocked by the browser if the target server doesn’t support Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS). The new remoteFetchAsync method transmits the request from Airtable’s own servers rather from the user’s browser, thereby getting around CORS issues. remoteFetchAsync works very similarly to fetch and expects the same inputs, except for a handful of “gotchas” stemming from the fact that this is run from a backend. Hi all - I hope you’re doing well and for those who celebrate, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I’m excited to share that on December 1, 2022, the Airtable Community is moving to a new platform! Upgrading this experience is a huge step forward for the community, and I can’t wait for you to see it. Here’s what you need to know: In order to finalize the migration to our new platform, the Airtable Community Forums will be down from November 28 to November 30, 2022. Please note that all forums will be inaccessible during that time in a ‘read-only’ state. All of your content, leaderboard points, and login information will be automatically carried over, so no action is needed on your end. On December 1st (hopefully by 10 am PT at the latest), you’ll be able to use your existing login information to sign in at community.airtable.com. With Outlook Calendar Sync, you can sync all of the events within a given date range from an Outlook Calendar into Airtable. From there, you can use all of Airtable’s core functionality to work with the data: views (I recommend Calendar view), filters, sorts, automations, and more. Hi all, My name is Don and I’m a product marketing manager here at Airtable (for those of you I’ve had the opportunity to connect with already, hi again!). I wanted to share that we’ve published a blog post today outlining many improvements and iterations we’ve made over the past months to make it easier to create and collaborate in Airtable. For context, much of this work came from a desire to make our product simpler: A team of engineers, designers, product managers, writers, and well, marketers like me, have been spending time talking to our users about what frustrates or confuses them in Airtable. From there, we built a list of improvements we wanted to roll out to our customers. Hi everyone! I’m Rotimi Iziduh and I’m the product manager working on various Core Surfaces here at Airtable. I’m super excited to share a set of upcoming updates that make the in-base experience easier to navigate, and improve the discoverability of the automations and interfaces features. Specifically, we are introducing a new top navigational structure that contains the below three tabs: Data: This is the default starting point of the old experience. As before, it is where you will review and edit the various tables and views that contain your data Automations: This provides easier access to automations that trigger various actions based on your underlying data Interfaces: This gives quick access to a visual layer to turn your underlying data and automations into apps that are tailored to your unique workflows To illustrate this, here’s a quick before and after snapshot: Before: After: We’re excited to launch these improvements and please keep an eye out for more exciting updates

New formatting options for long text fields are now available to everyone! That means you’ll be able to use block quotes Headers ordered lists, unordered lists (bullet points), and checkboxes bold, italic, strikethrough, and code formattingand more! Please note that in order to use the new formatting options, you’ll need to do the following: Open up the field customization menu Select the “Customize field type” option Pick the long text field type (if the field isn’t already long text) Switch on the toggle that says “Enable rich text formatting” Save changes (notice that the field icon changes as well) There are a couple of interesting new use cases that these new features open up that you might not have expected (for example, did you know that you can now input formatted text in forms?), and you can read more about them in this blog post: For The Record – 26 Mar 20 4 workflows that take advantage of rich text formatting Here's four of our favorite use cases for the new form
