Hello, I set up an automation rule to get a message sent to slack every time a certain record is updated. I use the CSV import app to update this same record weekly and the slack message doesn’t seem to be triggered when the record is updated through the CSV import app. However, it works when I update it manually. Anybody faced this before and knows how to fix it? In the screenshot: the record has been updated properly but the message was not triggered. Thanks

Hello, I am building a service that lets users hire experts to answer industry-specific questions. And this is how the workflow would look like: I have two tables called User and Expert. User fills in an Airtable form that asks the following questions: Name (Single Line Text) Question (Long Text) Industry/Topic (Multiple Select) Location (Multiple Select) Airtable automation finds an expert meeting the criteria by matching the Industry/Topic column along with the Location column and sends them an email requesting them to answer the question. Here is the problem I am facing, How do I devise the automation in such a way that it matches the right expert with the user based on the Industry and Location? I have a base, and I’m not sure if I’ve designed it in the right way, but I’ve made a table for all the purchases, and I have another table for the customers, so I thought it would be easy to link them … but I don’t really know what I’m doing. I created a linked field type … but maybe it should be a formula … ? Anyone have any insights on this for me? I’ve also played around with the ‘count’ field type … but I don’t know how to make the email a variable. Is that what I would need to do?

Ok, asking about a functionality that I hope exists and I just haven’t figured out just yet. Here’s my situation: I am scheduling vaccine clinics for first dose and second dose. I have a formula set up already so if Vaccine Clinic A for the Moderna Vaccine is scheduled for March 1st, I have a field that tells me the second dose needs to be scheduled for 4 weeks later (i.e. March 29). That field is labeled Second Dose Target Date Now what I would like to do is this: When that Second Dose Target Date field is populated, I would love for it to automatically create a new record with a Clinic Date indicating March 29th (using the example above), and carrying over additional information. For example, If Vaccine Clinic A administered 505 First Dose Moderna vaccines on March 1st, is there a way to use automations to auto-create a record for 505 Second Dose Moderna Vaccines on March 29th? Hi :slightly_smiling_face: I have automation set to run when an record is updated. Thank I have “Find record” action to find records which should be updated. Last step is “Update record”, but I can not select record from “Find record” step. Anything I select it gives me error. :frowning: Does any one know how to do this? Thank you, Pjero

Is there a limit to the number of data elements I can put into the body of an email for my email automation? This works: But this doesn’t: All of the fields are populated. I’m on the free plan. Do I have to upgrade to get this to work? Thanks, Simone

Hello. Complete noob to Airtable. Currenty I have an Excel file that handles incoming jobs, 90% of these jobs are based on a recurring schedule of weekly, 1-4 weekly, monthly, yearly and so on. Not time dependant, only date. In excel I use VBA to copy a new recurring job entry record x amount of times based on the frequency calculated by the frequency between the start date and end date and the schedule (end date max 2 years to eliminate forever). So example: Start Date 27/3/21 End Date 27/3/23 Schedule every 1 week . 7 days Total number records to be copied is 104 with the Start date of each record to be previous Start date + 7 days. Each job record will have a unique ID number, and each recurring job record will also have a Recurring Job ID. Recurring ID for one off jobs will be 0. I would like to know if anything like this is possible in Airtable. Thank you.

Hi! I’m trying to create an automation that will send out a reminder email if a record has not been created on the previous day: My team members each fill out an air table form every weekday. One of the fields is a dropdown with their name. I’d like to make an automation for each team member that will send out an email to them if the previous day does not have a record with their name. The automations don’t really seem to be set up for If/Thens based on records that HAVE NOT been created, but I’m pretty new to the whole thing. I have gone down a few rabbit holes on methods but I can’t seem to figure out what I imagine shouldn’t be a terribly complicated solution.

I am running an automation to create a new record when another record enters a view. The new record a date formula field and use that as the date for the new record. The data test runs fine and the automation runs, but the data field never gets filled in with the information. Any help?

Im trying to use a single automation to look for records with a bunch of basic filters, then below that in 2 individual “FIND RECORDS” steps, I am adding a filter to the triggered record by using the find records where a secondary key = the secondary key from the trigger, + a bunch of extra filters, followed by individual “update records” steps for each of the individual “find records” steps. This works, and works perfectly well when I test each step, but for some reason its just not working LIVE and I have a theory and would like to know if my theory is correct. my theory: If the first “find records” filter is a miss, I think the entire automaton stops there and doesnt bother moving on to the next “find records” filter step. Is that the case? Im doing all this becasue othewise I need lots and lots of automatons to produce a fairly basic automation updating one singel field, which airtable wants extrra $$$$ for which is unreasonable.

Hi my master records are properties and I cold call the owners. Multiple properties have the same owner so when I update my notes on an owner I want all of the records with the same “owner’s name” to be updated as well. Please help

When I try to add a field to my automation or to add an attachment the whole automation pane blanks out and I have to close and start again - I’ve tried clicking on the + to add a field and also just to start a ( to prompt field generation but nothing seems to work PS. I’m on free version if that’s a factor

Hi, I’m trying to add an automation to a “Team” table (each person is a record) that is linked to a “Tasks” table. The tasks are manually linked to each person in the Team table and the automation I’m trying to add is one that should send a customized weekly email to each person in the team with a count of how many tasks they have assigned to them a personalized link showing their tasks. The messages aren’t a problem, but when I add the automation, create the trigger, add the send an email action, and then click the little blue “+” to insert the dynamic information of each person’s email with their customized message, there is no option to select data/fields from the table, the only options are time related from the weekly email trigger. I am trying to build a Project Plan and Gantt Chart and I am entering a duration for each record + a start date. How can the end date be automatically calculated? Also, If I change the duration time for a record, the end date needs to reflect that change. Thank you

Hello, I have an issue which I will try to explain through the following screenshots: THE SET UP I have have a 3 Field (Column) Table with the following fields: (Name, Company and Re-Orientation Status) The AUTOMATION - Trigger Condition The trigger: When Re-Orientation Status is Overdue The PROBLEM When I test the trigger, only 1 record is found; however, the table above clearly shows that more than 1 record meets the trigger condition. Please advise on why this happens. Is there any way to fix this?

Hi, New user to Airtable here, so any help would be appreciated… What I’d like to do is every 12 hours have an external API call to update my base; is this possible using the ‘Automations’ feature of Airtable, or do I have to use something Zapier?

Hey there, We are planning to import through the airtable api, to trigger different automations. We are considering to import into one main table for any new orders with details like email, order_date, phone_number, etc. Since we also want to filter automations for certain updates (eg. order cancelled), we were planning to have separate tables for important updates. Between each table order_id will be the primary key. We would like to have a new table where we join the data of select columns on order_id similar to a join in sql. Is this possible with airtable? If not are there any zapier automations for this? I tried the lookup function, but we will be working with largish sums of data and require absolute precision, so manually updating is not an option for this use case. I wrote about another option we are considering of importing relevant data like a csv, which might provide more context:

I have a client database that automates emails when certain conditions are met. Occasionally, I am manually entering data that would trigger an email automation unnecessarily. I would like an option to suppress that instance of the automation. I thought adding a “suppress email” checkbox field, along with a condition “suppress email is ‘true’” in the automation would do it, but it seems that as soon as the box is unchecked, conditions will be met and the email will send. I wonder if there is some way to trigger the automation without actually sending the email, but would then reset the checkbox to “false/unchecked” Does that even make sense?

It works well … but ! If on the forst table I change the "product of interest, i will get a duplicate on the CRM table … ;( is there any way i can fix this ? I was thinking of creating a new automation for update record but i’m not sure it will work … thanks !!

I think there may be a few ways to accomplish this: Can I connect the two apps to do this? Hello there, I’m trying to create an automatic process in air table, let me explain to you and find out if you’ve got solutions for me :slightly_smiling_face: I’ve created a Typeform, in this type form people can subscribe to some events, each person have to write down is e-mail in it. I linked this typeform to airtable, like that i have a database of their responses. So in it we’ve got several informations, including their e-mail and which event they want to go. What I try to do, is send them an e-mail with the link of the zoom event they subscribed. One mail right after the subscribing and one mail one day before the zoom event takes places. Do you know how I can make process automatic, send automatic e-mail with the right zoom link depends on what event they subscribe. Thanks if you can help me, that could save me a lot of work !!
