Hi folks : )I'm trying to put a link in an automated email, and it keeps generating a sequence of characters at the end of the url that makes the link useless. Here's how I have it set up in the body of the email:Here's what the end of the url is supposed to look like:230526796288065/sign_document_d4deb6cd5dd95877_79e90063180a7cbf.pdfAnd here's what it looks like when the automation is done with it:This happens whether I set up the field as a URL or single line text, and the link opens fine from the data view; these extra characters only show up in the link generated by the automation email.Since the characters look like html encoding, I looked them up and found this, if it helps:%EF : ï%BB : »%BF : ¿How do I set it up so this doesn't happen? Or is it a bug that can be fixed?Thank you for your attention,Shawn
I have a table (Table #1) in which we keep upcoming events, along with their dates, topic, marketing content etc. I created a mirror table (Table #2) with the same fields. Table #2 has a form our staff uses when they need to update any of the events that are in Table #1 (existing records). I created an automation that when a form is submitted in table #2, it finds the records in table #1 that match the name of the program and then updates the existing record. Here's where I am stuck and wondering if there are solutions:1) Finding the records: My conditions are the name of the program and the date, but the issue is with the date. I'd like Airtable to only find it if it's the exact date in both tables and not a range of dates. Is there a way to do this?2) Updating the records: when staff submits a form, they may ask for the topic (field) to be updated, but will leave the content (another field) blank because that didnt change in their program. When the automation find the record
Hello,Currently, we use automations integrated with Slack, where we utilize the "actionable message" feature to allow users to approve or decline directly through Slack. We are now transitioning from Slack to Microsoft Teams and would like to know if the same functionality is supported in Teams. Specifically, can we enable actionable messages in Teams using automation?Looking forward to your guidance.Thank you.
I need the dollar amounts on our automated emails to be automatically rounded to the nearest cent. The automated email is pulling these figures from fields in airtable that have formulas associated already, and they are set to round to the nearest cent/hundredth, however when they come through on the automated email suddenly they include an extra place value "thousandth," and do not provide thousands comma markers or dollar signs. I do not know how to combine a ROUND formula on top of the formulas that are already on the fields. Can someone help?
I can't figure out why an automation is not performing as expected. You can view the test base here: https://airtable.com/appvus4mpIsM95P1S/shrcfwha5Sx1NEui9Please see the Content, Tasks and Task Templates table. The logic behind the automation is that when the podcast status on the Content Table is updated to "In Progress," the automation will generate a set of tasks for that episode. The automation looks for records in the Task Templates table under the Podcast View and duplicates those records in the Tasks table. The automation is creating extra records in the task table and I can't figure out why. There is no pattern to the extra records created. I've tested and tested and it's not the same duplicate records each time the automation runs. The extra records created in the task table break the date dependencies."Start Date", "Deadline", "Duration" and "Predecessor" work as expected in the Task Templates table, but when the automation creates the records in Tasks table, those same d
I am trying to get this to change the retention stage to month 2 when then 1st day in the field is one month ago?I have done this and whenever I am testing and changing the 1st day in the field to over a mo nth ago it does not even register the trigger on the automation history? Any ideas what I am doing wrong here?
Hi Community,I've created automation for sending an email using the 'send an email' action and it doesn't work for non collaborator's email addresses. It fails each time with the error: "invalid email address"I'm using a pro billing plan, so it's not supposed to be a problem.Does anyone know what might be the problem? Thanks.
Ok, This community has become my safe space and I appreciate all your help!Essentially, I have a list of content and I have multiple clients linked (with their emails) to each line item so a certain email can be sent to certain people on a scheduled date. My challenge? My automation keeps sending one email to ALL parties, thereby sharing email addresses. I need an email to go to each address. In the below pics you will see I have a 'repeat for each in List of records) and this is preceded by find records where Issue Date is today. The right records turn up, and the email works, but to my mind it is not actively 'repeating for each'.I feel I could drill down to the Client tab for that info, but I don't think I'm going about it the right way. Relevant Fields:Table 1 - Content - Send date, Lookup For Client (multiple records), Email (from Client)Table 2 - Clients - Customer ID, Email TIA,Chelsea
Hello there,I am very new to Airtable (just started two days ago) and I am finding that there are so many things that can be done here so I am very eager to learn. So TLDR, me and my friend has a small business where we need to find suppliers and ask for their quotations for bidding purposes. We have been very overwhelmed lately and want to leverage technology to help us automate some of the jobs. I have a problem with configuring the database right and would appreciate any insights from you guys. Working Process:Currently, our working process is quite redundant and consumes so much time. So first, the purchase request will be decided by us on what items to buy. Then my colleague will print out those items (Row) along with some potential suppliers (columns), then we will work together to pick which supplier we will ask for each item. Also it should be noted that in each box, there may or may not be past price (if we ask them for quotation before). After that, my colleague has to t
I am very new and only working on a free account and have run out of free ai chat credits. I am trying to follow a youtubers work flow to create blog articles and post to my wp site. workflow is as followsWebhook-->Airtable-->Claude-->claude-->JSON-->Cluade-->Tools-->OpenAI-->Openai-->markdown-->Google Doc-->Google doc-->Airtable-->wordpress.some of the double cluade and openai were create prompt then create article/image.Webhookhttps://hook.us2.make.com/134uosndzo3nh3oq497hxq0hbjfv8js3Airtable layoutBlogs Posts RecordID | Main Keyword | Generate | Outline | Complete Google Doc | Google doc image | StatusWebhook in Airtable ( generate tab )"https://hook.us2.make.com/134uosndzo3nh3oq497hxq0hbjfv8js3?RecordID={RecordID}" RecordID tab RIGHT("000000" & RECORD_ID(), 6) nothing in Main Keyword tab. so work flow is click new row in airtable = generates new RecordID and a "Generate" button I add in the "Main Keyword
Hi, i'm a total novice and really struggling with an automation, any help greatly appreciated pls 🙂My client hosts quarterly events, attendees register via airtable form. I am familiar with creating the form and the automated email reply. But thereafter the client would like to check the existing 'Contacts' tab to see if the attendee is an existing contact:If so, do nothingIf not, create a new contact in the 'Contacts' tab.I am stuck on the find records step, I'm not sure how to ask it to check the contacts table. When I look online it says to do find records, but I'm not sure of the conditions. Thanks in advance for any help
Hey Airtablers,I want my sales guys to be able to click on a button, and have it perform the following functions:- Update the 'last contacted' field- then create a linked record- then open that record into expanded view <-- This is the step I'm having issues with.I can't find a script or automation that opens records in expanded view. Right now they have to click the + in the linked record field, then click the + in the drop down menu to create the linked record. It 'works' but there's room for error and I want this to be as simple as possible for them while they're on the phone. This is what that looks like:Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!Paul
Hi,I have successfully set up automated emails via Gmail on Airtable. Everything runs perfectly except that I can't work out how to change my sender name. The screenshot below shows the problem, it needs to be capitalised and include my surname.Just to reiterate, this is when sending via Gmail not from Airtable's own service. Many thanks in advance!
Hello Airtable Community,I’m seeking advice on dynamically generating a table in Google Docs based on data from Airtable, using Make (formerly Integromat) for automation. Here’s the challenge:I have a fixed table structure with predefined columns (e.g., Product Name, Quantity, Price), but the rows need to be dynamically added based on the number of items in a purchase order.I’ve successfully mapped Airtable fields to a Google Docs template using Make, and it works well for a single row. However, I need the table to accommodate up to 15 entries (or more) dynamically. What I’ve tried so far:Using Make to automate the data transfer from Airtable to Google Docs.Outputting a single row in the table, which works fine, but I can’t figure out how to dynamically add rows for multiple entries.Exploring the Page Designer in Airtable, but it’s limited to a single page and doesn’t meet my needs. My ideal solution would:Allow dynamic addition of rows in the Google Docs table, depending on the dat
I'm having trouble at a couple of points, and there may be multiple ways to fix this. Firstly, I need this automation to happen once a week. Let's say I pick Thursday - I need it to run this automation on all records on a particular table that have the date as 8 and 9 days away. But I can't find how to make it a weekly repeating automation. Then, lets say that there are 6 records that fall on those dates. If I have that data sent to a google sheet, it puts all 6 rows from AT into just 1 row on GS. Is there no way to have it go to multiple rows? I have tried using a workaround of sending it to a Google Doc as a grid instead - but is there anyway to manipulate what order the columns are in? It looks like I can just select them or not, but the order I use them in for this purpose is different than the order we need them in for AT purposes.
We use AT to manage rental properties. Here is a scenario and then what I am looking to accomplish. We list each house as a record in a base. We have a filed for when a house goes vacant to track when the rental turn project start and another for when it ends. I don't want to lose historical data the next time this same house goes vacant and needs a turn project. I would like to keep track of each time these change and create a place where we notate the last time before update the new updates. This will allow us to have a history of how long vacancy lasted and over time and with multiple properties we can get a feel for how long they last on the whole portfolio.Thank you in advance for your help.
I have a sweet automation set up for a client that lists important dates in a grid format. The date includes "UTC" and I can't figure out how to get rid of UTC. As you can imagine with all employees in the same time zone, the addition of UTC is not only unnecessary, but unattractive. I appreciate any ideas you might have to remove this from the email auto.
Hi all, I have read a couple of posts on this question and tried the suggestions but I can’t seem to get it to work. I have a view that I am sharing via a view only link with various collaborators. In order to allow them to update certain fields of the records, I have an Edit Record button in the grid that opens a form where they can update the information, then an automation to update the form. One of the fields they can update is an attachment field. I want them to be able to add new documents without deleting the existing ones, as for certain records there are multiple documents that will be added over time. I would rather not create a separate field for each attachment and instead just add the new ones in with the existing ones. Is there a way to do this without using a script or an external program. I am on a free plan, and we have no budget for anything more. @Kamille_Parks I saw that you offered some solutions in the past. Below is a sceenshot of how the automation works at
Hi all,Hoping you can help me. Check spoiler tag for completely detailed explanation of my situation, just in case you can spy a base design issue that could easily be fixed: I have a table called "Products" and a table called "Definitions". I'm linking each product in my products table to the definitions table. The record in definitions is the classification/type of product, i.e., a wall mounted faucet. In the Definitions table there are internal instructions that our staff need to check off using rich text format before the product is considered ready. It would be instructions like "Wall mounted faucet is not located on an exterior wall".I'm using a Lookup in my Products table to retrieve these instructions and attach it to products based on the definition. Unfortunately when I use a lookup to retrieve these internal instructions field in the Products table, it loses all rich text format. Fair enough - as per this help article I get that this isn't supported right now:
I keep getting these "Something Went Wrong" emails from Airtable when my automation fails, but there's no information in the email. Is there any way to customize these emails to include more information? It's getting pretty convoluted to dig into the automation error, save the Record ID or other info, go back and find it in my base, etc, etc, etc.TIA,ML
Hello,I would like to create a Zapier automation to notify us when a client changes details of a field in our shared Airtable. As we use forms, it seems to set the "Last Modified Time" aswell as the "Created" time, so I cannot just create a simple view to show me only records that have a "Last Modified Time".Is there a workaround in Zapier? or is there a formula I could use to say "If last modified time is greater than created time etc etc" Thanks
Hi, I've created a simple email automation that sends volunteers a record of their contact info (people table), plus their assignments from previous years (assignments table). The assignment details appear fine as lookup or rollup fields in the people table, but when I try to run the automation the assignment details are blank.Does it have to do with the fact that it's a one-to-many relationship (one person, multiple assignments)?People table with rollup and lookup fields:Automation email fields:Automation preview (contact info not shown but appears correctly):Thanks for any insights; I've been struggling with this for hours!
I have two dates formatted the same way and displaying in the table consistently. When I add them to my email, I am getting two different formats. The data format in the table is US. One appears correctly (5/3/2024) and the other appears incorrectly (2024-05-17). I also have a date time field that is also US format with time 12 hrs. The data in that field shows up as 5/2/24 5:00pm in the table but appears in the email incorrectly (2024-05-03T00:00:00.000Z).The only additional piece of info is the dates are getting pulled in from another table with the key being the first date (5/3/24). All of them look right in both the original table and the linked table. I tried changing the two that were showing up wrong to Friendly to see if they would change but they didn't.
Hi,I am pretty new to AirTable, so not sure if this is possible. However, I currently have a table for all users of my website and then a separate table for customer reviews. Each review populates a new row, so the same company may have multiple reviews, each with its own row.I would like to input a formula to work out the average rating across all of the reviews for each company so I can then display this as an overall rating on their profile. Is this possible, if so if someone could help me with the formula that would be amazing.
I couldn’t find any updated information about this topic on the community forum.Currently, I am developing some email automation workflows, and I am aware that occasional failures may happen due to unexpected errors.I would like to create a solution to recover the failed runs, but from what I’ve observed, I can only view the execution history by accessing the web page directly.I searched the documentation for any reference to an API or endpoint that allows retrieving the automation run history so I can filter and manage it according to my needs, but I couldn’t find any relevant information.
