Hello , i need help please I didn’t find exactly what I was looking for in airtable support. I want to put a superscript in my words in my products, what type of field should I choose (i think Long text is more appropriate that Single line text) and how should I display it? e.g. “John” and the symbol of trademark i want to put in superscript on “John”, the name of product). Hi there, We have a schedule of all our training dates (Schedule) in one tab and then a separate list of all of our trainers in another. In the schedule tab, we have a lookup field that we use to input which trainer(s) are delivering which training. Oddly it won’t let me create a filtered view in the schedule that says When trainer IS ANY OF Serena, Joanna, or David. We only see contains, does not contain, is empty, is not empty. Am I missing an option here or is there a way of using commas to separate the values?

Hi everyone, I would like count the number of records form another table. For example, I have created a table with all the payments that the company receives, and they are linked to the customer master record. But I would like to add a control in the customer table of the number of payments made by this customer (the number of records, because a payment is represented by a line). Hi everyone, I’m new to this. I have created a table to collect student grades. I collect the data on a form and populate the Student and Score fields by use of a form. Thus, I have many different names in my Student field. When I filter the names, I easily separate out any specific student’s scores over the previous 20 tests. But, I cannot figure out how to AVERAGE these scores for each student. Can this be done, or is my data collection method fundamentally flawed and I should start over again? Happily accept everything but blows. :slightly_smiling_face:

We have a difficult time updating records that become “lost” within the database if a change is needed during the workflow process. I’m going to do my best to explain the situation in hopes someone can take my blinders off and help see another way around this. Current set-up: We have multiple views set up that are based on our workflow. Each view is filtered to only show records that fit the criteria for that stage in the process. As the process continues, certain fields (criteria) are marked which moves this record to another view, creating the next stage in the workflow. Problem: If the project requires an update mid-project that particular view might not have the appropriate field available for this new information. Just wondered has anyone used Airtable to Organise their company manual? I am quite new to Airtable and getting a little over-excited - at the moment our company manual drives me crazy as it frequently needs updating (or at least small sections do) just wondered if anyone else had popped there’s into here and if so what it looked like and how successful its been

Is there a way I can add the same record twice in a linked record field? I’m building a product sales database. When I have 2 of the same item in a customer order, I can’t figure out how to add the same item twice in the order record. I’d rather not have to track each order item individually on it’s own row because it becomes difficult to calculate the shipping costs for each item in the same order. How do I delete “unnamed record” across the gallery view or how do I fill it in? I can’t figure out either.

Main behavior (see screen capture for reference): 1.user download a new record under “Film purchases” tab which includes a country name. 2.the country name is not properly spelled as in the masterdata list (i.e: official list of countries that is used to harmonize data management) 3.if a new record is uploaded with the wrong country spelling, it creates junk data in the masterdata list and therefore requires a constant manual clean-up Goals: we don’t want to limit field permission we want to bring users attention to specific look-up columns so they can validate/quality control the data once a new record is uploaded is there an automated way to help bring users’ attention to these specific columns ? I thought about a pop-window that specifies as follows “the country information has not been uploaded properly, please verify data with corresponding masterdata list” but I understand airtable can not provide this tool. anythin

Hello, I am a new user- I created an Airtable base that is updated via Zapier from a Google sheet. The records seem to be populating from the Google sheet correctly, but when I try to Group by Client name, not all the records are grouped. I will have some records with the same name in it’s own group. This has happened a number of times so manually dragging those records to the other grouped records of the same Client name has become cumbersome. Has anyone else experienced this and know of a fix or what I may possibly be doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help on this topic.

Hello Airtable Community! I have a question about creating an EQ reservation/checkout system in airtable. My nonprofit already uses airtable for keeping track of our film production equipment but lately we have started checking out filmmaking equipment to our youth participants. I was able to look at various templates and create a rudimentary checkout-checkin system in our eq base, but as of right now it doesn’t allow us to create EQ reservations for future dates. I would like to be able to make EQ reservations (with multiple EQ items) for the future and see what EQ is “available” during a specific date range. So I would need these future reservations to be able to look and see what else is reserved or checked out in any given date range… Im looking for ideas on how this could be possible, I have done a bit of research but haven’t found examples of what I am trying to do. Hello If anyone has advice on best practice for setting up the following I’d really appreciate some tips… I’m creating a list of materials that has many columns detailing each materials qualities and uses. Each material will have multiple suppliers and I’m trying to find the best way of not overloading the user with information until they need it. I could add multiple columns in a single sheet for each supplier but wondered if there is a neater way of organising this? Is having a separate sheet that lists material name and then the various suppliers each in a separate column a better way? And link through to this? Many thanks for any suggestions you can give. Hi, I’m looking to create a set of nested questions on the submissions form view. For instance, the headline question on the form would ask ‘add contact’. When the user of the form clicks on this, a set of sub-questions appear, such as name, address etc. Once the sub-questions have been filled, I would like the user to be able to click ‘add contact’ again, and multiple times on the one form, as there may be more than one contact required for a single entry. I also would like the answers to the sub-questions to be collected on a separate tab in the grid view. I’m not sure if all of this is possible. Any advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

I have a few different AirTables, I would love them to link to another Airtable, or just a section of info. Is there a way to do that? Do I even make sense? Thanks

Say I have a whole table with various flowers listed, with bloom seasons, color, and whether or not they’re deer resistant. I want to be able to see JUST the records that are tagged “bloom season” in a new table. What’s the easiest way to do this? Thanks!

Hard to explain globally, but theorically the formula would look like this: IF (Cell 1) is empty OR (Cell 2) is empty OR (Cell 3) is empty… THEN display :white_check_mark: How can I achieve this on Airtable? Hi, I want to create a list grouped by date for me to keep track of email followups. Some of the dates will have the same email addresses as I do follow-ups. For example, if the single select drop-down options are: 1st contact, 1st follow up, 2nd follow-up, and submitted. I would like to have it, when I am dealing with a repeated email address in another date group certain options won’t pop up since they were already selected for that email address. For instance, if 1st follow up is selected, the next time I enter that email address only 2nd follow and submitted will show as options. Is this possible? Thank you!

Hi there, I just got started with Airtable and have imported a couple of records that make up a many-to-many relationship. The base structure is fairly simple: User (user_id = 5) <–> join table (join_id = 124 with user_id = 5 & group_id = 33) <–> Groups (group_id = 33) So users & groups each carry a primary ID / key and are connected via the foreign keys / IDs in the join table. I linked the records together fine and can add lookup fields like “user name” in the group table but those are merely text fields and not clickable – instead the ID field that ties the records together is the clickable one. How can I choose which field is used for switching between tables / triggering the popups and pulling in the data from other records? Hello, I am using masterdata tabs in my table to harmonise data. My problem is that every time a user enters data manunally or automatically in specific columns linked with the masterdata, this may create junk data if not recognised by the masterdata list; thus requiring constant clean-up. Is there any way I can block/limit the data entry for those specific columns linked to the masterdata ? if YES, can you please provide a step by step Thank you Cloé

Scenario: I’ve got a membership product where orders get added to a Google sheet. When a new row is added, I can use Integromat or Zapier to add a new customer record in Airtable. I’m struggling to find out how to do the following If a customer cancels their subscription, I have a cancelled field and date which gets updated. However, if the customer buys it again in a few months, I want the same record to be updated but with the cancellation fields cleared. So in effect, if a new row is added to Google sheets, I want it to check whether the customer record already exists then just update it, otherwise add a new customer. Is this possible? I’m probably suffering from baby brain but integromat only seems to have a either add or update. I want to combine the two. There was something about smart links on there. Do I need to create an Orders table and somehow link the two then somehow use that to do updates if needed? Thanks

Hi all! pretty familiar with Airtable however having some issues figuring out best way to accomplish my goal: build an on call sheet for my maintenance team. ever week of the year a different tech is assigned to be “on call”. For example: 1st week of Jan: Darius 2nd week of Jan: Steve 3rd week of Jan: Al 4th week of Jan: Martin 1st week of Feb: Al 2nd week of Feb: steve 3rd week of Feb: Darius 4th week of Feb: Martin and so on and so forth for the entire year. Goal would be to have a base that i could easily sort/group by Tech AND month. Additionally, show a calendar view that could show each tech listed for each week. make sense? can Airtable accomplish this? thanks!

Is there a way to turn off when you click on an empty row that a new Row is automatically created? I want to just be able to click the + and I get a new row. I keep getting empty rows.

First of all I would like to say thank you for everyone contributing to the Airtable Community, I have been saved hundreds of time by the ideas and solutions posted here. Now, I would like to pose a problem I’ve been dealing with: I’m creating a data base to keep record of project ideas pitched by a team. I want to be able to prioritize ideas from people who have already suggested something before AND had their idea chosen for further development. I managed to indicate all people that already submitted an idea thanks to this: Can I find unique values and put them in a column? Now I would like to have a field indicating if that person has had an idea picked for developement before, but I’m stuck and can’t find a solution. I have an array with all the people who have submitted an idea before, now I need to know the status of these ideas

I’m an old Oracle DBA. My first day using Airtable and I like it already. Here’s my issue. I’ve been building my base creating tables and demo data to test my design. When linking tables I included the fields that would provide context in helping me select the right record to link. Looking back, I should have included a few more link fields to give my grids/views better context as well. How can I add these now without dropping/recreating these links and all my data? Any help would be much appreciated. Mike P.
