Base Design

I have created a form view for each employee (5) that is personalized to them, with their name and a fun image for them at the top. It is used to track their billable time per client. In the grid view, however, I’d like to see which form (or person) submitted each line so that I know who completed the work. Is this possible? Thanks so much!

Heya ! I’m having trouble with this one ! It is not a problem specific to AirTable : it would be the same with any other relational database, and it is an open one… What I’m aware of : the most consistent solution would be to have a single ‘Ledger’ table containing both income and expenses. Reason why I would prefer separate tables : the ‘Income’ table is deeply related to the already complicated CRM part of my base the ‘Expenses’ table is related to the Providers part of my base there is no correlation between those parts of the base, and I like it that way ! #K.I.S.S. the data in those two tables are of completely different natures My need : I simply want to compute a monthly net revenue bar chart in a block ! I have a table of classes I want to use that almost always start at, say, 10am. I want to be able to add these into the timetable on a semi ad hoc basis as I get a booking without having to change the start time every time. I can’t see a straightforward way of doing it. Can you help?

Hi there AirTable newbie trying to work out how achieve something. Scenario: I have a table of Video Clips from different countries and containing different languages. I have a table of footage Loggers that will review the clips and be assigned based on the languages they speak. In the Video Clip table, I wanted to display a list of Loggers that speak that clips language. To that end I created a Languages table, linked both the Video Clip and Logger tables and using a look up field can now see the names of suitable loggers. I can then just their name into the Logger field in the Video Clip and consider them assigned. Brilliant. EXCEPT If a clip features multiple languages (ie English and Spanish), my lookup field displays all the loggers that speak English or Spanish. NOT loggers that speak English & Spanish (which would be the best solution). Is there a solution to this? I can’t see an obvious way of using the conditional Lookup

Hi there! I am looking for a way to compare two fields and then remove certain parts of one of the strings in those fields if it is already present in the other field. We have customers in the Primary field, then another field that is a rollup aggregation of all of their reviews and then another field that is a rollup aggregation of all the products they are received. I then want to create a formula that means I can have another field where it is just the products they have received but not reviewed yet separated in a similar way. For example Item 15was amazing#Item 23not as good. Item 1#Item 2#Item 3#Item 4#Item 9#Item 2 I have attached a link to a dummy base.

Hi Guys, I am completely new to this type of database, only experience comes from excel/sheets, so forgive me for my basic question but none of the videos shows a true step by step for a simple lookup, and it is quite unclear what to link with what, I do not get results… What I’d like to do is simple: Create a table with dfferent client Types with different unit prices. eg. Small Medium Large and in a parallel column: 5 10 20 for unit prices. Creatw another table where client Types are listed ( not entered, but they are calculated based on an IF formula, that I managed to do based on their employee count) Assign unit prices to those client Types based on the first table. Third one is my problem, no matter how I am trying to link stuff, no results appear, sometimes empty additional columns are added to either of the tables… Quite lost here, thank you for

I need to create a summary table that counts the number of times an individual product shows up in a list of linked records. For example, I have a table called “Assortments” and a table called “Fruits” that are linked. Assortment 1 has 2 apples and 2 pomegranates, while Assortment 2 has 1 apple and 2 pineapples. A third table, “Orders”, lists the assortments ordered. How can I summarize the data from the “Orders” table into how many of each individual fruit has been ordered (X apples, X pomegranates, X pineapples)?

Hi ! What I’m trying to do is a basic relational DB behavior, but I can’t find my way in AirTable. Here is the idea… I have 3 tables interacting for this problem : table “Clients” table “Appointments” table “Invoices” Relationships through “Link to” fields : Appointments <— many-to-one —> Client Appointments <— many-to-one —> Invoice Invoices <— many-to-one —> Client In the Appointments table, when I link to an invoice, I obviously want to see only the invoices linked to the correct client. (The incomplete invoices are created beforehand) Therefore, in the Appointments table, I want to filter the Invoice choices only to the invoices linked to the client of that appointment. As I understand it, a filtering based on a view won’t be of help, since I can’t create a view for every client in my base… Ideas ? Tips ? Help ? Is it even possible in AirTable ?

I am very new to AirTable. Here’s what I would like to accomplish. An email is sent to AirTable, which is then triggered/processed because it contains a specific subject of “Inventory”. AirTable then looks at the body of the email and looks for fields with thier values. For example, the email could look like: Body: Batch = 000012 User = Mary Jane Usage Type = Discarded I would then have a table in my database which contains columns named: “Batch”, “User” and “Usage Type”. I would like the values (after the equal sign) to be added into their matching columns as a new record in the table. I have a method for creating the emails, and I can have them formatted in anyway to get this to work correctly. I looked into Zapier which appeared to be my only solution, but even that I struggled with setting up. Any kind of advice, tips, articles, videos, would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! I’m creating a database, where I’m trying to analyze the results of my advertising campaign. I push the data to my main table via Airtable API. Among other things, my data contains the ad id and user name, who was clicked on this ad. One ad may be clicked by many users, one user may click only one ad (one-to-many relation). How can I automatically create a table, where I will have all unique ids of ads in one field, in the second field - all user names, who clicked on the ad with the number from the first field, in third - number of such users? Also, I have the ad budget and I need to divide it on the number of users who clicked this ad

Hi I’ve experienced trouble receiving forms from others. It’s happened twice - someone submits a form and receives the post-submission message, but then the record doesn’t show up in the base. Nor do I receive an email notification. It doesn’t happen all the time though. Most of the time it’s working alright. I was wondering what went wrong? I’m based in China and I use VPN, but those submitting the forms probably don’t. Don’t know if that’s relevant or not. Thanks in advance for your answer!

Hi there! I am a public speaker, and I would like to use Airtable to track my “gigs”, from point of interest until they are complete. This will help me track documents and vital things I forget due to the long time frames this involves. One thing I am struggling with is that Gig start days and times are inconsistent. Meaning, I may do a full-day workshop for an organization, and that’s easy. But sometimes they want me to do two workshops, or smaller trainings split into multiple days but they are all part of a series. Currently, I have to add each day/time in as a separate Gig, which makes me cringe because they are NOT separate, but rather nested as part of the overall gig. I would like to not have to use multiple tables for this–is that even possible? Any ideas on how I can lay this out?

I have a table with a date and numeric field. It tracks a water meter reading. Is there any way that I can calculate usage by taking the current record meter reading and comparing the difference between that and the previous records meter reading then calculating the number of days difference between the current and previous record to come up with a litres usage per day? I tried searching the forum but could not find what I am attempting to do. My objective is to create a Case Study and Employee Resume master database. My goal is to be able to select an employee, select a project that the employee worked on, and then receive an output that shows that employees resume description for that project. I am a new Airtable user. I set up the account on a browser, logging in with google. When asked for access to my contacts, I of course rejected that and was going to create the account with an e-mail only but when I clicked back I was offered the option of proceeding without giving access to my contacts. Happy, I selected that option, registered and created a project. Now I would like to see what it looks like on mobile but I cannot log in to the mobile airtable app without granting access to contacts. How can I proceed? Note: The contacts are not needed for this application, so they are not appropriate data for Airtable to have.

Hello, I am using AirTable for my plumbing company workflow. My base is currently set up with a table for Jobs (each record is a single job with info like data requested, job status, plumber, revenue, etc) and a linked table for Plumbers. I would like to be able to produce summary reports by week & month. For example, I would like to calculate the revenue generated by plumber for each week into a new record. This way I can summarize with a bar chart showing totally weekly revenue over time with a breakdown by plumber. In Excel, I would do this by creating a new Summary tab. It would have a table with Plumber Name across the columns and Week Of across the rows. I would SumIf with two arguments (date within a range and plumber name). It would have a final column totally revenue across all plumbers for each week. I could use this data to create various graphs. How can I recreate this summary in AirTable?

Hi there! I’m new to Airtable and trying to find the most efficient way to group individual freelance talent by discipline (Editors, Animators, Directors, Etc.) in GRID view within my base design. I’m finding the “group” or “filter” features to be confusing and sensitive - I’m not able to clearly find a solve for this & greatly appreciate any help!

I have a base listing all services made for my clients, in which i put data like the material used, date of service, price, invoice number, etc. There are 12 tables in this base, one for each month. What i want to do is create a 13rd table linked to all the others, grouped by clients in kanban view. So, let’s say i’ve installed a CCTV câmera for Mr. X in january and switched this camera to a modern one in december, those 2 services will be in the specifc tables (Jan/20 and Dec/20) but i want see all services i’ve made for Mr. X in the 13rd table. Might be an easy one but i’m really struggling with this now. Thanks for the patience with the bad english, by the way.

Hi, Just trying out Airtable as an alternative to Notion. So far so good, however there is an issue for me in Safari (v13.1.1, on macOS) in that I cannot scroll my table at all (horizontally or vertically). The same table works perfectly in Chrome on the same machine. Let me know how I can provide more details (i.e. a private link to the table if it helps support) Thanks - Ian.

Now, “Topic” is a linked to a list of records in the Topic table: This is pretty straightforward. And you can see that the Topic table links to a Subtopic table, with subtopics for each topic. When creating Sessions, I’d like to: Create a new Session record and specify the name (e.g. Making Software) Then select one of the Topics for that record (e.g. Computers) And then when I go to Subtopic for the Session … only subtopics for the topic are displayed and selectable (i.e. Apple & Windows

Dear Friends, I have a Sales Table: Which provides data such as the start date of an Installment, Commission Rates, and “Invoices Table” calculates the Commission Invoice Amount Payable at the time the Invoices are Created MINUS any Previous Invoices Paid. When the status of the Invoice changes to Paid, the Revenue field in the Invoices Table gets updated to reflect the Commission Invoice Amount, which gets “ROLL’ed UP” in the Sales Table that adds all the Invoices paid till date against the Sales ID linked to Invoices in Total Revenue Generated. The “Sales Tables” than minuses the Total Revenue Generated from the Total Invoices Cycles Run To date (Expected Revenue) to give the “Amount to Invoice for the next Invoice”. This Amount to Invoice is LOOKED up in the Invoices Table to give an indication as to when the new invoices can be generated. Hello! I have 2 tables - “product” and “supplier” These tables are related: in the table “product” I see the supplier, in the table “supplier” I see what goods he has. When I am in the “supplier” table and click delete product, only the relationship between the tables is deleted. There are no changes to the “product” table. How to make it possible to remove goods from the table “supplier”? To remove not only the relationship between the tables, but also goods from the “product” table.

I have a pro table where I’ve built a form. I’ll be having people outside of my organization fill out the form for an approval. I’ll need to provide feedback to the information in the form. What is the best way to provide feedback to folks that aren’t in the organization if I have a pro-base?
