Is there a complete list of these options for record "names/terms"?
Hi, I have a few tables for different marketing teams, and each team has their own campaigns and dates. Some campaigns have more than one date. I created a master integrated marketing plan where i pull in information from each marketing teams table. The dates end up living across multiple columns in each record, making it impossible to create a timeline view. I've tried formulas, rolling up dates, flattening, but nothing has enabled me to create a timeline view based off one date field the way airtable requires. Any suggestions or workarounds out there?

Hi,Due to rebuilding a lot of our automation to accommodate segment/tag based filtering for e-mail, I need to change my TAG fields. The TAG is a segment or interest area (e.g. nature, sports, food etc), and until now I have used this as linked records from a master TAG table. The automations I built require however the TAG field to be a single select, so I need to transform all of my linked record TAG fields to single selects. If I just change the field from linked record to single select I nicely get the existing values converted into single select values, but it seems all automations where this variable has been used break. There are quite a few automations and it feels both very time consuming and risky to re-build all these by hand. Can you think of another way to "convert" the existing TAG field to the single select type without breaking the automations?Cheers,Björn
I've looked around and can't find a way. I'd like to create a condition group that holds several conditions. I'd like to save it to reuse later.
Hi! I use airtable for lots of things - but a primary use is data entry for a longitudinal study I'm conducting. Each row is a company I'm observing and the columns are observation dates. There are a series of measurements I do at each observation date (~11). Is there a way to bulk create/copy the eleven columns instead of individually duplicating them for each new timepoint?Perhaps I'm not thinking through the problem in a way that optimizes airtables strengths. To me, wide data is better for this use case than long data. I need the data to be exportable for table creation (the table tools in airtable are too rudimentary compared to excel) so this format makes the most sense to me. I also think new records for each time point is not as easy for people to follow for longitudinal data compared to new columns. This data is publicly available so being easy to understand by people not used to datasets is critical. Admittedly, this might be a unique use case. I checked th
Greetings,Is there a way to customize Airtable forms in the following way? I'm building a very basic template of a SignUp system for clients, and I want to build an Airtable-only solution for them that they can use without needing to use Zapier, Fillout, Wufoo, etc.I would like to update the "+" sign in the Airtable form question below so it says something like "+Select Your Session" or to make it a custom image, or something like that. Is there any way to do this through a script, CSS, etc.??? The form looks good overall, but the lone "+" sign really isnt' very user friendly, IMO.TIA,ML
Hello,I am having trouble syncing records across tables within a single base.Table A has a list of dates and times for appointments.Table B has a list of people who are scheduled for appointments in Table A.Table B, Column "Email Reminder Sent?" is a Checkbox field that indicates whether or not their Email Reminder has been sent.I have "Table B, Email Reminder Sent?" linked so it also shows up as a column in Table A. This way we can see the communications status for each appointment without going to the Table B.The problem is that when I'm in Table A, the Checkbox field is read-only and I'm not able to check/uncheck it. So i can "see" it in Table A, but I have to go to Table B to edit it.I assumed I needed to enable "Two Way Sync" to get around it, but it appears that this feature is intended for syncing between *different bases*. Based on that, I assume I'm missing something that's causing the problem above. What am I missing? How can I have two-way sync between two tables in the
IN a 2-Way Sync, what determines if a field is editable or not?The list Airtable offers seems very random, and in some cases is completely empty.Any suggestions to make a field editable? Some of the fields that are missing are simple text or date fields.
Hello, and thank you so much for reading my post. I have a table of products, variants, inventory, and orders. The reason of the separation of the variant table is because each product has unique variants names (some of the products are single products without variants)im trying to create a form to add a new order and facing a problem when its comes to add a new a specific product/variant.should I select product and then variant and then quantity? Is there a way to make it easier ? Kind of “invoice line” when you select product, quantity? please advise thank you so much 🙏
Hello,First of all, I apologize if I have duplicated this topic, but I couldn’t find the right answer.I’m trying to determine the best practice for organizing data and reporting for a workflow that I believe many others are dealing with.I have a table called PAYMENTS, where we store all payments our company has made. We also have a RECURRING PAYMENTS table, where we track recurring payments that are automatically added to the PAYMENTS table based on the period set up.However, we are struggling with reporting our payments for specific periods, such as a year, month, or quarter. Is there any way to solve this using only the Date field? I’ve tried creating a pivot table to sort payments by months for current year and categories. So far, I’ve created separate tables for Year, Month, and Quarter, each linked to the PAYMENTS table. Payments are then associated with a specific period. I believe some automation could assign these periods based on the Date field. This workflow also wor
Hi All,I am new to Airtable and I would like to set up a Project Management process based on our annual Strategic Realization (SR) OKRs. Each SR has its own project schedule, in some cases more than one schedule, depending on the KRs and deliverables. For reporting and tracking purposes, we plan to:Track project deliverables and milestones within the SR schedules and using a calendar view.Maintain a roadmap view for Leadership.Generate a report with custom PMO metrics.Use a form that, when completed, populates a weekly status report sent to all stakeholders across all SRs.My question is: In this scenario, should each SR project schedule be its own base that feeds into a single Calendar, Roadmap, PMO Metric Report, etc.?Thank you in advance, and I apologize for the basic nature of my question.
Wondering if it is possible to run the auto-number column, but conditional on another column. We are setting up a purchase order tracking log, and I would like things to autonumber based on the field for who is doing the ordering. So if Steve goes in to create 3 separate orders, he picks “Steve” from the single-select dropdown field “Ordered By” and then he gets a sequence of auto-numbers. For his 3 orders, he would get 1, 2, and 3 (I would have the key column by a formula that creates a unique ID based on “Ordered By” and the Autonumber, so it would probably be “Steve001”, Steve002", “Steve003”, etc etc). If Dave then goes in and enters an order for himself, what we would like is for the auto-numbering to restart for the new single-select entry “Dave” so that Dave’s first entry would get an autonumber “1” again, and the key field would be “Dave001”. If steve then goes to do another entry, he would get “Steve004”. So far, I am not seeing how to do this (or if it can be done). I realize
Hi, I have a Contest Definition Table that is capturing specific dates related to a contest. I have start and stop dates for about 5-7 different stages of a contest, so Nominations Open, Nominations Close, Voting Opens, Voting Closes, etc. I have a record template set to create a set of tasks in a separate Tasks table for each contest based on those dates. The tasks are linked to the Contest Definition Table, All of that works just fine. Each task has it's own Start and End date. There are actuals tasks for Open Nominations, and Open voting which is set based on dates designated in the Contest Definition Table. What I am having a hard time figuring out is how to update theTask dates when dates change in the Contest Definition Table. Thanks for any help you can provide.
I have a somewhat unique scenario I need help with. We are using Airtable as management software for a load securement operation we run. We secure loads for a customer at their location. The customer themselves has an older system they use and they don't allow us to directly integrate with their system to get the load information we need. So what we have is a Selenium process that will go to their site every 15 minutes , so we have as close to real-time updates as possible and pull a certain amount of days in the past and future and then export the load information to a CSV file. This then gets dropped on a server where we feed the information from the CSV file to airtable over API to a table. That information then goes from that table to another final one. We did this because, at certain times, users need to manually put a load into Airtable and because of the way we have to get the information into the system, we can't have the setting that would have Airtable delete the record
Hey. I have a gantt chart that shows when multiple items are hired and dates associated to them. Each record is one item and has fields for 'delivered', 'setup for use', 'deadline to be ready', and then 'collected'. This means each record is one item but has 4 dates / time periods attached to it. I dont want to split this into multiple records with steps for each date, as the overall specification of the hired items is dependent on one record per item (this is shared with the supplier as a list to cost up)However when I pull this into the gantt chart so I can get a full schedule, i can only use of the date two fields (start and end date) so I am not getting what I need from it. Does anyone know a workaround for this?
Hey,Can someone tell me where airtable gets the highlighted names from? I can't find any settings. The table is also named differently.BestMatthias
I’m managing service requests (tickets) for apartments using Airtable and need help creating a more advanced lookup field. Here’s how my base is set up:Tickets TableEach record represents a service request (ticket). Each ticket is linked to the apartment it is for, using a linked field to the Apartments table.Tickets have a Tags field (multi-select) where multiple tags can be assigned (e.g., Appliances, Plumbing, Internet, HVAC).Apartments TableEach apartment is a record in this table. It is linked to all tickets associated with that apartment.Current SetupIn the Tickets Table, I have a Lookup Field that retrieves all other tickets associated with the same apartment as the current ticket. For example:Apartment A has three tickets:Ticket 1 (Tags: Plumbing, HVAC)Ticket 2 (Tags: HVAC, Internet)Ticket 3 (Tags: Appliances)When viewing Ticket 1, I can see a list of all three tickets because they are all linked to Apartment A.What I Want to DoI want to create a field in the Tickets Table that o
Hi All!I am trying to change a single select field in my base to a linked field, with all the single select options populated as rows in a new table. I have a long list of single select options that I do not want to have to re-type manually if possible.I could have sworn this was possible in the past with a right-click action, but I can't find it anymore (or I don't remember right). Thanks,Jaco
Hi,So far we've been building a small CRM for internal use. Out of curiosity I started wondering if it would be possible to re-design it to support other companies. I've seen multi-company databases having an owner identifying prefix to fields, e.g.company1_projectcompany2_projectcompany1_e-mailcompany2_e-mail etc etcFor users there's the abstraction "current user" but haven't seen anything like "current organisation" as an access role qualifier. How would one build any access right system hard limiting any access to the user's own organisation.Would this be at all possible to design? Or would one need something like Bubble on top? Which then would take away the whole point of Airtable, and suggest doing everything from scratch within that environment, non?Rgds,Björn
Hi Airtable community,I’m seeking advice on the best way to structure a base that involves Tasks and Issues, which have overlapping fields but serve distinct purposes. Here’s the situation:Issues: These require detailed tracking and notes, including fields like changes made, follow-up steps, progress status field, open/closed field, inspection notes, and specific next actions. They are client-facing, often shared externally via reports or synced with external platforms.Tasks: These are broader, internal actions (e.g., conducting reviews, generating reports, collecting data) that help our team manage workflows. Tasks frequently lead to the creation of multiple Issues. Tasks need fields like progress tracking, notes, and assigneesShared Requirements:Quality Control (QC): Both Tasks and Issues require QC, and we need a single view or dashboard to easily track what requires QC across both types when they are ready.Active Assignment Restriction: Only one Task or Issue should be active for a
Right now we have a few different bases where contacts live and we're thinking of restructuring our workspace so there is one master contact list. Within the master contacts table we will have filtered views that can be synced to the relevant bases. The bases where our current contacts live have automations through Airtable and Zapier with 2 way syncs with our Salesforce and other apps. In theory it makes sense to have one master list so we can easily track all of the information for each contact in one place. My fear is that creating one master list for the whole org to use (~24 people) will cause issues if there are upload errors/mistakes or automation errors/mistakes that will impact the whole org all at once. Our organization has contacts for our members (10,000+), donors, prospective donors(5k+), press contacts, political contacts, and basically anyone else we interact with. I'm also wondering if the time commitment of this would be worth it right now. I imagine this is going to be
I have multiple lookup fields with similar data but from different sources that i would like to have merged into one lookup field. Is that possible and if so how?
I am tracking two kinds of activity related to a list of locations that I keep in a table called LOCATIONS. One kind of activity (programming) has very specific dates. The other kind of activity (development) is hard to pinpoint in time so I do not want to assign specific dates, but I do want to know what calendar and fiscal year activity is happening. My question is, should I create one table for all location activity, so I can see it all in one place for each location (when grouped by location), or should I create two tables and then look at my LOCATIONS table to see all linked activity? Or maybe just track development activity in the LOCATIONS table? Thanks!
I have a project management base. I use the in-built Time Tracker extension to track the time spent on each project. I have several ongoing projects, and I work on more than one project each day. It annoys me that I have to select the project from a relatively long list before starting the time tracker, so I am trying to figure out if there is a way to skip that step.I have a table with clients and another with projects (Project name, Authorized number of hours, Time spent, and Time left). Is it possible to use the button field in the projects table to start the time tracker for a specific project with one click on the button in that project's row? Or is there perhaps a better way of doing this? Please feel free to ask if my question is unclear. Thanks,Lene D. Kottal
