Base Design

I am designing a base for tracking participation in a weekly Food Box.I am trying to organize the data in such a way that I can track the number of people who've selected a certain type of produce for any given Food Box Day.  Ultimately, I'd like to be able to create a pivot table in my dashboard interface along the following lines:Produce5/1/245/10/24Basil20Cilantro11

I am trying to set up a basic template for managing about 20 small construction projects. I have a table with records for each project and a separate table for all the various tasks that could apply to each project. I can't figure out how to link the various tasks to MULTIPLE projects while also tracking the status of the task within each separate project. Below is a simple example (in reality I have a list of ~50 tasks) of the way I'd like to be able to track tasks in EACH project. Project A tasks:-solicit bids (complete)-draft contract (in process)-hire sub (on hold)Project B tasks: -solicit bids (in process)-draft contract (on hold)-hire sub (on hold)Thanks in advance!

Hello there, I’ve created a pretty nice base that tracks almost everything necessary about thousands of trees planted on a farm. The base has lots of info from the date of acquisition to genus, species, notes, tons of photos, etc. But the one thing I’m stuck on is this: Since they’re 1000s of trees spread across 20 acres, I need to figure out how to Geo locate each tree or auto tag the geolocation of each tree so I know where it is on the farm. I would like this to be automatically created on a map, something like Google maps with a pin drop that shows me where I can find a plant. Spent some time googling and everything seems to be over my head in understanding how to do this. I’ve read many opinions including having to purchase some map tool from Google clouds and I’m just like “I thought this would be simple but maybe it’s not?” And this is a personal project so not any $ to spend. Does anyone have some help where they can guide me just add that one field so we can have it pin dro

i have a linked record field that links to another table. the linked field in Table A does NOT have the "allow linking to multiple records" toggled on. The corresponding field in Table B also does NOT have the "allow linking to multiple records" toggled on. and yet, i can link to multiple records. In Table B, i can select a record in Table A that already has a different record linked from Table B. Then when i go over to Table A, i have two records linked in a field that is clearly not supposed to allow this. is this a known issue? is there a way to prevent it? if it is a known bug/"feature", are there standard suggestions for ways to work around it? i don't want to try and work around it, if i can just prevent it. but if it can't be prevented, what is the point of offering that toggle option at all?!

Primary field 'Total' pick list choices at the bottom is blocked by the '+' sign for add records.When I hover over the area to the right of the total 312 records number in this base an area behind the '+' sign is also displayed or highlighted, but I can't see what is there. Any suggestions?Thank you. 

Hi there, We have a questionnaire for our clients to fill out where they deposit links to their corporate materials (decks, etc). These are hyperlinks in the table where we collect them, but we would like to be able to reference these on another table (via a linked record). Problem is... when we link those records, they appear on the second table as plain text, without hyperlinks. Am I screwed? Or is there a workaround that someone knows and can share? 

I have a tasks table with a self-linking field that I use to define task predecessors. Is there a way when adding a predecessor to filter the options to show only those that relate to the relevant project/grouping?The problem I am trying to solve is that there may be many tasks with the same name so sorting through them to find the correct one takes time. For example, in my task table I may have the following:Project 1:Task 1Task 2Project 2:Task 1Task 2When selecting a predecessor for task 2 I have to wade through and find which Task 1 is the correct one for the project. May be helpful to know: my tasks table has another linked record field that links to a projects table, therefore each task is tied to a project. 

Hi there!As I am fine tuning the AT bases for our team, I seem to be missing something rather important here and thought I would ask the community about it as it seems to be rather significant.As we create tasks and assign to our team members, we would like the team members to login to AT and view those tasks. They can go into the various views but here they see all the tasks. This is fine as an overall project log. But if they then filter this list to show only those assigned to themselves, it seems to run the filter across ALL OTHER USERS viewing this page!If that's the normal behaviour, how does an editor/team member see only their assigned tasks without impacting the rest of the teams' views? Almost all other PM tools I have tested with (Monday, Asana etc.) have a dashboard page of sorts that shows their open items etc. But a personalization filter on the existing views may be enough for our needs.Please let me know as this is a rather important funct

I have a table of Contacts where one column is the Companies where these contacts have worked. The Companies column is a lookup column to a table of companies. Contacts might have more than one company that they've worked for. I want to be able to attach a year range in some way to the company information, so that I can see that John Smith has worked at Company X between 2021-2022 and Company Y between 2022-2024. What are some ways I can think about doing this?

Hello all!  I need some help please.  I can work spreadsheets all day long but database creations is not my forte, far from it.  I started using AT a few years ago to track my business whole goods by serial number.  Thankfully, someone helped me here and re-designed the mess I had created.  It has been working great so far, but I would like to change the way I enter the data.Currently, I just use a main grid and enter all the information, it then populates to combine all the same parts together.  From there I have managed (with some help) to create 3 other tables, one for each manufacturer so I know what is in stock. The reason I want to change the design is I am much more busier with the business transactions and I'd like to reduce the redundancy that I find the current design has.  When I set this up, it was basic and understandable to me. The main table currently has model, brand, part #, serial no., accessory, ven

I have a CSV file delivered weekly with information about grant opportunities. I've been importing this file into Airtable, however, many of these grants include multiple submission deadlines throughout the year so I'm struggling to find the best way to be able to use the submission deadline as a true date field for sortability.The CSV file has a text-formatted column for dates. The cells also include "Submission: " before each date. I was planning on find/replacing out the "Submission: " text and then formatting the text as a date, but some of these cells actually contain multiple entries. I am mapping out the content in an academic program with the following levels:Program ObjectivesCourse ObjectivesModule ObjectivesAssessmentsI have a separate table for each of these levels.Starting at the bottom, an assessment in one of the courses is connected up to one more Module Objectives. Each MO is linked up to one or more Course Objectives. Each CO is linked up to one or more Program Objectives.I'd like to visualize these connections. It seems the flowchart extension is what I need, except it only works with self-linked records. In other words, I would need to combine all 4 levels into a single table. This is problematic because I need the levels on separate Tables. I considered copying/pasting the primary fields and the fields that link each to the other level over into a new Table that I could use for flowchart purposes. I want to display my attendance record when it gets marked.My current set-up:I have two tables; One with a record of all my lessons, and one with a record of all my students. These tables are linked twice. One link shows students scheduled for the lesson, and the other shows students who attended. I have automations that let me add students from my scheduled link to the attended link with a click of a button in an interface.I'd love some thoughts on how to display the attended students. Hello!We have former users with Creator permissions that we would like to move to non-billable to save funds for a nonprofit.When we disabled a former "Creator" user, other users were no longer able to manage rows through a particular view or interface.How can we locate (and bulk move!) all created/permissioned collateral like automation, views and interfaces from one user to another?I could do this with a regular SQL database, however the nonprofit prefers for data entry using Airtable and thus I need some assistance to work within existing management tools provided 🙂Thank you!

Hi,I find myself needing to change at least single select values, and would like to know if there's a way to do that without breaking automations and interfaces?I e.g. have names of event types that I need to change, for example from "Discovery" to "Discovery call" or status kind of values like "Ready" to "Ready for invoicing". Any of these are used in interfaces and automations as discriminating variables to either activate automations or filter what is shown.When attempting to edit one, I get a warning of dependencies, but I can't understand whether the update would actually break the listed dependencies.Thankful for any help how to do this safely. I am looking at a way to deplete inventory of items when adding a kit to inventory. For example:I have 1 kit that contains 2 A's 4 B's, and 1 C. SO when I add a kit to my inventory, it removes 2 A's, 4 B's, and 1 C. How would I make this work? Thank you for any help.

I have a script that I'm having difficulties with. The script is part of an automation block which is triggered by a new record being added to a table called Projects. This record in the projects field has some info about it, (how many episodes, series number, etc) but crucially, has a multi-select field. The automation is supposed to look at the trigger record, which has a field for how many 'episode' records it should create, and then makes the episode records and links them back to the project. It is supposed to also copy the multi-select entries that are in the triggering record and make them the same in the newly created 'episode' records. But it seems to be failing at that, and I'm getting an error: Error: Field "fldYr1BVOeRj2DLLz" cannot accept the provided value. at main on line 43 Can anyone see from the script what might be the issue. I have created a timeline that summarizes the data. Different ranges are colour coded based on conditions like less then 50 is light blue, between 100 and 200 is orange and anything above 200 is red. This means that values between 50 and 100 are not coloured.  The values are based on calculations in the grid view and sometimes they produce Infinity. This is desired as we want them to show as infinity instead of blank when people miss doing the data entry and we find the infinity makes this very obvious in the timeline view. Is there a way to define a condition that when the value is equal to infinity is become purple? 

I have an unusual filter requirement. So how I need this to work is: I only need to go into the view on Mondays and Tuesdays. The data will be imported in every Tuesday. Once that data is imported I need to see data from the previous week, For example I import the data on April 23, 2024. Then I need to only see this data between April 16th - April 22nd Then when I look at the view on April 22nd I still need to see the 16th-22nd of April. So if I import the data on April 30th I will need to see records between April 23rd - April 29th. If I look at the view on May 29th I see the 23rd - 29th. Is this even possible? Or what is the best way to achieve this?

I am trying to find a way to update my current record review layouts to use this new feature but can't seem to find a way. Is there a way to convert the old layouts? I have a student financial table named OTA Financial where the OTA number and other information is manually added. That is synced with the Financial workspace tab in the student table. Then the students are connected through the OTA number in the main student table to import information from the OTA Financial.  I have spent several hours setting this up and connecting the OTA's.  They were working. Then the next time I go into the table it is not updating the financial workspace tab with the information that is listed in the OTA financial.  It is not letting me just sync the tables and I can't keep going over this and resetting it up every time I add a new person.  What the heck is going on and why does it not work over a period of days?

Hi there,I tried to empty the data in a certain view however that deleted all the information from the original base also. I am unable to undo the action, and when I look in the trash the information is not there either. The base still recognises that are 87 applicants from my application form, however there is no information in the base. I have also created a snapshot from yesterday, however since then more people have submitted an application form and so there is some data missing stillThanks in advance for any helpThanks in advance
