I have two bases and two tables. Base 2 Table 2 table has initiative name , objectives, key results, earliest date (based on all projects in base 1 table 1) and latest data (based on all projects in base1 table 1) and list of all program that have the initiatives. Base 1 Table 1 contains program name, program description, type, priority, start date and release date, status, initiative name. Base 2 Table 2 is synced to Base 1 table 1 so I can have the product manager can select the appropriate initiative in their program. In base 2 table 2, I want a field to automatically add projects that have the initiative specified.. Right now, base 1 table 2 (which is synced copy of the initiatives) has the correct project names listed. However in base 2 table 2 the field of the project's name are blank. I am not sure why.
Hi everyone. I'm new to Airtable and getting used to the automations and tools. I'm hoping there's a way to do what I'm trying to accomplish, even if it's not the way I'm thinking...First, a little context:We teach different types of classes (at least 😎 and have a list of students we contact to offer classes and enrollments. Some students may take only one class, some may take 3 or more. What we have doneWe want to be able to store our students' information, assign them to the groups they are interested in (for example, if they are interested in class A, B, and D), and perform the registration process(es) for each of them.To do this, I created 2 tables: one for the classes and all the information related to them (price, dates, location, etc.), and one for the students, where I store the students' information and track their stage as a lead (if they are new, if they need to be contacted to understand more about their interests, etc.). Then I linked both tables in a list view and
I need to create a base that will allow a user to add a new item (a change in operations, ie: we now date all produce boxes upon arrival, or Host to open all doors for guests arriving and leaving)then each item is assign to a department (Kitchen, Host, etc)Then each team member is to sign off on new process I can create the first part, however, how do I build the base to allow for staff to initial/sign any changes for their assigned departments? (without logging into airtable - this would be liked to Glide apps)I need to be able to view the change, department and all signatures (plus who has not signed for that department)
Question on best practice. As an automation consultant, I'm building a CRM for my client which will integrate with Typeform, Make etc.Eventually I'd like to transfer ownership to the client while keeping enough access for any maintenance, but I am foreshadowing changes to credentials/access tokens etc resulting in broken links on integrated apps. How does everyone else do it with the least amount of moving pieces in the transfer? Do you start a new workspace and get the client to sign up for a paid Airtable account?
I have a fields called Due date and I am looking to highlight/color the value of this field. ( this is a date field not a single select or multiple select)Is there are way to only color the value of that fields ( not the row )
HiThis must be possible!?So I want to populate an Airtable from a Softr.io front end? I want users to be able to create records. As part of the user sign up process, I will capture their address/location.When they create a record, I want airtable to populate a field with location. This location should be pulled from the user record.Does that make sense?
Hello!Have a bit of a challenge and wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation / need, and how they may have addressed it.Scenario(1) Simplified case: Say I have a Projects table that specifies a StartDate, EndDate, and EstimatedHours. I have one record (Project#1) that starts in JAN and ends in AUG with 800 hours. Assuming a simple linear average, how [would we get Airtable to tell me how] many hours should I expect to spend in MAY?(2) The first complication: There are many projects (of course), each with their own overlapping StartDate, EndDate, and EstimatedHours. How I can get Airtable to report what our total monthly commitment is for MAY? JUN? etc?(3) The second complication: Say there is also a Resources table (i.e. the labour that will be working down the commitments). Each of these records has their own StartDate, EndDate, and AvailableHours (not actually, but simplified for our purposes here). How would I see [and use in other calculations] the result of (2) alo
I have created a base to track various components of our commercial kitchen operation.I have bases for Menu Items, Prep Items and Ingredients.I have created various columns for the quantity of ingredients for each dish and need to roll them up into the quantity of ingredients in total for a given period, using sales data.Because there may be multiple meats involved in a dish, I have created separate groups of columns with Qty Meat 1, Single Select Meat 1 and a formula column that multiplies Qty by average weekly sales. I need to roll this up into the meat table so that we can calculate the total quantity of each meat we use per week using a formula to sum the four columns for each meat. This all works fine for the first meat, and works fine for the initial calculations for the remaining columns (to Meat 4).However, when I roll up these columns to calculate the total, the second, third and fourth columns are grabbing the Meat single-select from Meat 1. The total quantities for those colu
Hi there,I'm trying to find out if there's a way to share a view link for an entire workspace (i.e., not just a base). Thank you.
As you can see in the attached file, I want to Create a link between anchor campaigns and other campaigns from the same column. Anchor campaigns are the “major” campaigns happening throughout the year and all other campaign types are “subcampaigns”. I want to link all the subcampaigns according to their start and end date with the Major Anchor campaigns. Please let me know how I can achieve this?
Curious if this has happened to anyone else? ... and why? In one table, filter options now require that I click apply for them to take effect. See pic below. This is new. This table/view is one of our most regularly viewed tables and never required that. Changes to the sheet would happen live vs requiring clicking a button. The weird thing is too, on other tables, it's not required. We can still edit the filter options and the changes happen live. Curious what might have changed and if I can change it back?
Hi!I have a system to record the working hours of employees. Through the form in table "timestamp", each employee reports the time of arrival and departure (and lunch break). Each entry is in a new line. Then, in table "Presence at work", I combined these rows for each employee to have all check-ins/check-outs for one day in one row. In this way, I then calculate lunch break and work time. If I group the rows by name and date, I can get a monthly attendance statement. In a completely different table ("holidays leave"), vacation requests are submitted via a form, where vacation days are added up.Now, in the table "Presence at work" (or in some extra table), I would like to have a monthly display for each employee of how many hours he worked, how many hours he used vacation and sick leave, and how many hours of holiday there were.Any ideas on how to make it as easy and automated as possible? So that I don't have to connect the tables manually. So how to add those missing information
Hi there Airtable Gurus,We have four bases in our Airtable workspace:Base A: This is a new base connected to our legacy software, which automatically adds order numbers into Base A. We want to link this base to our existing Bases B, C, and D using the primary field (order number) from Base A.We would like the primary field (order number) from Base A to be selectable + within Bases B, C, and D within Airtable and via forms to ensure clear linkage and consistency to orders. These separate bases (B, C, and D) need to connect and relate back to Base A.Currently, I have tried having Base A synced with tabs in Bases B, C, and D. We want the connected information from Bases B, C, and D to be integrated into Base A through linked fields. While I have this information working through my synced table tabs within Base A, these extra linked fields are not appearing in the original Bases B, C, and D.Having this integration will allow our legacy system to update accordingly.Alternatively, my other s
Hello,We're an edtech startup for high school students. In addition to the in-app exams and quizzes, we also run offline exams in Telegram groups to mimic school exams (around 3 times a week). We send out a pdf to a group chat, and then each student solves the exam by hand, and then takes a picture and sends it back to us. Our teachers then give each student a grade and reply to that student. This is important because we want to see the steps in their solutions. These offline test scores need to saved so we can achieve the following:- Keep track of each student's scores over the school year- We send out report cards based on these scores- Check if a student doesn't have a score recorded, so we can check if they didn't do the assignment (assuming it wasn't an error on our side)- Keep track of when our teachers submit a score (to ensure timely responses)Right now this is all done on sheets. We were thinking of using Airtable.Do you think this is something that can be achieved? I didn't find
Hi!I have formula field for duration of a lunch break (datetime difference between lunch strat and lunch end). It gives me duration in minutes. Now I'm wondering if there is a way to sum this time? Thanks
Odd one, but I've noticed it a couple of times in the last week, so I wonder if it's a quirk of a new update.Basically I have a Status dropdown with a default option applied, called PlannedOne view that has some filters, including "If {dropdown} = ARCHIVE: Amendment"There is no grouping for the dropdown options in this view.Yet, when I create a new record it defaults to ARCHIVE: Amendment. This is how the filters are setup. Anyone know why this is? It's very frustrating. Is this a bug?
I want to link specific words (like "Click here") in one of my tables to a cell in another table in the same database. "Copying the Cell URL" does work... for those who have an Airtable account. I need "the public" to be able to follow that link from the webpage where I have this table embedded.I've been researching this for hours and can't find anything. What am I missing?
Hello all, this may be one of those things where I am trying to think too complicated 😉I have a base for my finances -I just need to list my recurring bills, my paydates, and have an output showing a running total of how much $$ needs to be in my account to cover those things. So Table 1 has the ExpenseTable 2 has Income datesTable 3 Budget then has a record for every payment, linking to the Expense and the PayDate. I manually create each record and link the PayDate to the one most appropriate (so the date of the next PayDate). I then Group based on that next paydate. Once the payment clears my account I check it off as complete. So the goal is that here for the "current" bill cycle May 17th I still need to keep $295.14 in the relevant bank account. For the next bill cycle I will need $2783.67; but since that IS the paydate and I know the $$ coming in will cover that, I don't need to worry about it yet.So I'm not budgeting in the traditional sense, just tracking how much $$
I have a base set up to log participant feedback after people attend a program. Respondents fill out a form and give ratings to questions related to different dimensions (belongingness, context, etc.); I currently have responses linked to activities and program profiles, which determine the specific dimensions that are presented in the survey.I want to make a Likert chart for each program that shows the distribution of ratings for each dimension. To do that, the response data needs to be arranged as below, where the cells are counts of the number of people giving each response for each dimension:I've played with creating different views, experimented with rollups and formulas, but I haven't found an approach that gives me the output I need without requiring me to transcribe counts manually into the correct table format.Any help or insight (ideally without requiring the purchase of additional extensions) is greatly appreciated!!
Hello all!At the moment we are organizing our purchase orders in Airtable. We do this through two tables. In table 1 we put the separate products, each product has its own row. Then we link each product to a Purchase Order Number, which is portrayed in table 2. So in this table each row is a Purchase Order (containing multiple products). We want to organize this further, which makes it a bit more complicated. Each product in the Purchase Order will need to be split up further for the shipping process. This is because for each product we can use different labels (for different warehouses). So basically in the current situation it looks like table 1 and 2.Table 1:Product 1 (PO-01)Product 2 (PO-01)Product 3 (PO-02)Table 2:PO-01 (containing Product 1, and Product 2)PO-02 (containing Product 3)Do we need to create a third table to split each product into different products? Let's say:Product 1 - label 1Product 1 - label 2Product 2 - label 1Product 3 - label 1Also good to note: right now we
HiI am busy making an airtable for a logistics business. I think the user interface (with nested lists) and overall simplicity is really great and we can see ourself using this as our primary toolHowever I am worried about the record limits. We estimate to have around 500-1000 orders per month when we are fully up and running. Each order contains several shipments (on average 1,5) and each shipment contains at least 2 shipment jobs (pickup and delivery). So we will have to plan to add around 6000-8000 records per month. After a couple of years we will reach our limits. My idea to handle this is to mirror the airtable base to an sql database or possibly firebase (but I am not a developer and have no experience with object databases. Have some basic knowledge about SQL though). So then we will have customer portals and an admin for looking long back in history directly linked to the SQL base and the internal app for operations within Airtable inte
Hello,I'm trying to design a database that can accomplish the following:Aggregate data across several different entities (for example, cities).Aggregate data for each entity across different time periods (for example, years).Aggregate data for each entity and time period across multiple metrics (for example, (a) population; (b) property taxes collected; (c) median home value).I want to be able to use the Interface feature to design a table to review city-level metrics (rows = population, taxes, home value, etc., columns = 2020, 2021, 2022, etc.) with a drop-down chooser for selecting the appropriate city (New York, San Francisco, Chicago, etc.)Is this possible with Airtable? It's the time series element that I'm having trouble figuring out when constructing my base. Any help much appreciated. Thanks
I am designing a base for tracking participation in a weekly Food Box.I am trying to organize the data in such a way that I can track the number of people who've selected a certain type of produce for any given Food Box Day. Ultimately, I'd like to be able to create a pivot table in my dashboard interface along the following lines:Produce5/1/245/10/24Basil20Cilantro11Cucumbers11Celery01I have a table for Food Box Days which includes a record for each date. Separately, I have a Food Box Participation table, which includes a record for each person signed up for each day. In the Food Box Participation table, I am using a multi-select to record each person's produce preferences for each Food Box Day. The table looks like this:IDPerson NameFood Box Day (linked)Produce Preferences (Multiselect)1Bob5/1/24Basil; Cilantro; Cucumbers2Judy5/1/24Basil3Jane5/10/24Cilantro; Cucumbers4David5/10/24CeleryI've tried creating an intermediary Produce Preferences Table, which h
I am trying to set up a basic template for managing about 20 small construction projects. I have a table with records for each project and a separate table for all the various tasks that could apply to each project. I can't figure out how to link the various tasks to MULTIPLE projects while also tracking the status of the task within each separate project. Below is a simple example (in reality I have a list of ~50 tasks) of the way I'd like to be able to track tasks in EACH project. Project A tasks:-solicit bids (complete)-draft contract (in process)-hire sub (on hold)Project B tasks: -solicit bids (in process)-draft contract (on hold)-hire sub (on hold)Thanks in advance!
