Hello all,I have a table with 3 fields (columns). First is for names,Second for passwords, and the 3rd one is a concatenation of the 2 first ones. This table is filled up from a form. (this step is working)On the next table, I have 2 fields, the first one (primary one) is empty, and I want to have in the 2nd field the information from the 3rd field of the FIRST TABLE. (still following? )But no matter if I use 'link to' or 'look up', nothing happen in the 2nd column of the 2nd Table.
HelloI have a table that is effectively a Risk Register Which has been scored by probability (1-5) and Impact (1-5). What I want to be able to see how many risks score 5 and 5, how many score 4 and 3, show on a typical risk matrix/heatmap like the attached jpg. I'm sure it must be possible but I can't figure a way. Thanks!Andrew
Sorry if this has been previously addressed, but I can’t find the information. Is there a simple way to separate a base into multiple, small bases? Thanks.
I have a zip code field and only want 6 different zip codes from over 20 different ones I have in my data source.I have successfully pulled those with the condition field use 'or' but I also only want the ones that have an active customer check marked. when I place this as the 'or' field it then pulls all the other zip codes I do not want. I am unable to place an 'and' condition successfullyI have resorted to grouping the active and inactive customers of each selected zip code but I want the inactive and active to be on separate reports (spreed sheet results) not oneWhat am I doing wrong with my condition codes? In this view, show records WhereZip code = orZip code = orZip code = orZip code = orZip code = orZip code = orZip code = orZip code =
I'd like to be able to link records together in the same table, and view connections easily! In my test base, I have a table that lists different talks. Some of them reference others, so I made a "Link To Another Table" field called "MENTIONED REFERENCES". This allows for linking a record to any possible children records. But not vice versa.I want to be able to see this link when opening a child record, to check what parents records it may have.e.g. based on the above pic, if I opened Talk E, the new field should say that it is linked to - Talk D- Talk FIdeally it'd be a field that lets you click on any Linked Records too, not just text.I don't know if this is possible in Airtable. Is it possible to use a "LookUp" field? Or resort to Automation or scripting? Haven't had a successful result yet. Here's a mock-up of what I'd like to have. (done in Microsoft Paint :P)Any advice would be appreciated!
I have a lookup field that brings a rich text field from other table, but I need to retain the links inside of that original rich text field. Can I do that? A lookup field into a URL field does preserve the link, but a link inside a rich text is not brought across...can I achieve that? Thanks
Hi allI hope I can explain my question clearly enough. I have three tables - Job List, Candidate List, ApplicationsFrom Job List, I want to select a job and create a new Application record which will inherit the selected job title into the job title field on the Application record. This would also be a parent-child relationship. Can anyone tell me if this is possible to do?
HeyI want to build a "lessons" table with all the lessons that I have with my students.I want to recursively schedule an event each week with part of my students (like I can in Google Calendar)Is there any option to do it?thanks
I want to sync PDF files via Google Drive however this method renders a low res PDF and the important copy that I need the reviewer to approve is not readable. Is there a way to stop this or is loading the attachments manually the only option? Thanks!
Hello everyone,I'm trying to use the filterContains URL parameter in a shared view with linked records. The issue I'm encountering is that this parameter only displays records when they exactly match the value provided in the URL, but I'd like it to function more like the filters in Airtable. For example, the Primary Field contains numbers, and I want to use the URL filter to display all the records containing one number (let's say 1...).That's what my URL looks like right now:https://airtable.com/appFS2avSSJRUpu7Z/shryOSrtr0WQfI3FQ/tblhf3jVTnogU7Yyz?filterContains_Table+2=1
Is there a way to search for records based on historical data, specifically transitional statuses? Say a record was in Status A, went to B, went to C, went to D. Is there a way to see all records that ever entered status B
Hello community,I am using Airtable to process data coming from an architectural model to summarize information about parts. Currently I am using a base as a template and duplicating this base each time I want to import a new list, as the lists are sometimes up to 10,000 rows long and I feel like it's not workable to just keep importing new lists into the same base.I have found the CSV Import extension to be far superior to the standard csv import functionality, and especially like that for the same csv column heading structure, the extension remembers my field assignments. However, when I duplicate the base, the CSV extension disappears and along with it, the field assignment memory. Does someone know if it's possible to somehow duplicate the extension along with the duplication of the base? My csv has around 300 columns and probably 20 have custom column names that the CSV import extension doesn't automatically recognize, so they need to be assigned
I get it - really I do, if you want all your records in a table to be referred to as something else. But I want to just fix mine to go back to being 'records' instead of 'events'
BASE 1Project RecordsPrimary Field is a formula from (2) other fields BASE 2Issues ListEach linked to projects (synced tab into the base) ISSUEWant to see a list of records from Base 2 within Base 1 when looking at the linked recordSynced issues tab is appearing, but linked PROJECT is appearing as single line text no the linked field Question #1: Would dual-sync solve my problem?Question #2: Any other ideas?
Hi all,I can't keep my work partner from accidentally adding options to our single select fields. He forgets they are single select fields and just types in his value—often misspelling them. Is there a way to prevent this? One that doesn't depend on me somehow managing to finally get him to remember? I sure hope so. TIA for your thoughts!
Last year I designed a School Newsletter system. One of the columns is the Newsletter Banner which changes for every campaign. It's a png image. I am using Airtable, Softr and MAkeLast school year, I was able to get the image URL. The output from MAke was giving me all I needed including the direct URL. Here the info I got for an image for example:Cover ImageArrayid attRZ6NuuEIBthpMQwidth 1380height 690url https://v5.airtableusercontent.com/v1/20/20/1693879200000/MVzlf5EfMgHm1KCztb4uiA/YQ-c86PccvtHjdv9VUR1v49KxX4BS5xJD4iXuZcVSV25PY2uq3dNQfs0_2sRsLsEQZqZ1r9gbLwfp4lzTPWcE83i19ubgZCM-zkXqbZZWe62Kj4to6smie7OgNoCYtR1/R2GSVwMl15JtAUZwwkiFZtojS7v9k5mNoXtyjNzTPe8filename Screen Shot 2023-09-04 at 1.28.37 PM.pngsize 1823578type image/pngthumbnailsCollectionCover URL: https://dl.airtable.com/.attachments/17e18deee342553e8fc829a4c1bd564b/10bf5441/ScreenShot2023-09-04at1.28.37PM.pngThe COVER URL was all I needed and using Make I was able to create an HTML email including the banner using the Cover
Hi all,How can I take the first attachment from a list of attachments and place it in another attachment field? Is there any solution that does not require scripting or integrating Zapier/Make? Cheers
HelloMy company builds complex machines with many parts. A lot of these parts, I need to buy and keep track of delivery dates and whether or not the item has been deliverd. What is the best way to set up an airtable to show all the delivery dates for all items across all my projects? If possible in one interface?Lets say I have three projects running. I need to be able to quickly manually add products to any of these projects and see all delivery dates in one calender so I have an overview. But I also need to see each project seperatly Do I create seperate tables for all these projects? (this may lead to many tables)Best practises here?
As part of my workflow, I have a view in my base where I put in all my tasks for the day, which the populates my calendar. To make this work, I have "Date Start" and a "Date End" fields with the date and the start/end time of the record so that it'll be placed correctly on my calendar. This works great but has caused an issue with creating another view that I need, a daily summary.I want to have a view that groups my records by date so that I can see how much I earned that day, how much I worked, and other stats. I can filter my records to show me this information for a single date without any issue. But I'd like to have a view that shows all my days work grouped together to be able to build a few extensions around the resulting data. The problem is that AT will group based on the entire field information, so including the time, and not just the date (see attached screenshot). The only "workaround" I can think of is to have a third date field with just the date, but this feels redundant
I am aware there is no way to "overwrite" data but I'm trying to figure out how else I might accomplish what I need.I have a very basic 2-table base. Table 1 is "Call Log" and Table 2 is "Users". I want to set up a default set of fields (location, type, job) that apply to specific people. For example, "Bob" might default to Ohio, Office, Data Entry, whereas "Linda" might default to Kentucky, Warehouse, Stocking. But as I do the weekly logs, their job scopes and locations might change. If everything is added to the Call Log table from lookups (pulling the defaults) I know I can't directly edit them. What would be a best-approach (I'm not against some scripting or automations either!) on handling when I maybe want to track that Bob is in Indiana and Linda is in Ohio. Thanks!
My end goal is to associate the Slack ID of the user that submitted each record in my primary base.I currently have a 'User' column in my primary base that associates each record with an "owner". I'd like to be able for the record to automatically pull the Slack user ID for each User from a "Team Roster" table that holds the User and Slack information for each team member (or maybe there's a better way). The only way I have found to do it so far is to use a 'Lookup' column in the primary base that references the "Team Roster" instead of using a 'User' column which ties the record to their Airtable account. This is not my preferred method as the lookup column selection is not as clean as a User selection when team members are choosing the owner of a record.Primary Base: Team Roster Base:
Hello,I'm just curious to know if Airtable plans to create a list view for calendars. We have Lists and we have Calendars but I'm looking for a schedule or list type view within the calendar. Or maybe there is a way to create such a view? Thanks!
Hi there,To use data for a list Softr you have to have the data in the same column. How would I be able to put two look up fields (one displaying a percentage and the other displaying a $ amount) into the same column while maintaining their exact values (not making them into just normal numbers and keeping 1 as a % and the other as a $).Any help would be greatly appreciated,Bart
I have a fairly complex set up that I may need to hire someone to help us complete, but I'm hoping to answer a few basic questions before putting in all of that time and money. We design and manage renovation projects for 5-15 clients at one time. We collect records for various products and materials, present them to our clients (option 1, option 2, etc.), get approvals and create a final list of the approved products and materials to accompany our construction documents. Sometimes we use the same products and materials on several projects, but each project requires different quantities, colors, pricing, tax rates, etc. I've tried creating one "master catalog" base that has tables for products, vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, categories, etc. and a separate base for each project. Each project can have a list of 100-400+ required items and we might collect 2-3 options for each item on the list. I've also created a web clipper extension for each project bas
Hi all,We have an AirTable base for our marketing team that has multiple "sub-bases" leading into one "master base". The thought of this is to have everyone keep their work flow in their base and have all the information on the team in one place with the master base. We do have an enterprise account which is why this question pop's up, why can't we edit fields in the master base. At first we were able to but it switched and now the master base has little to no use. Thanks,Will
