I am running an entire business out of an Airtable base. I want to change a primary field from a text field to a formula field. However, if any IDs were also to change, it would be devastating for my automations managed by Zapier. I was hoping someone here could help with the answer before I move forward with the change. Thanks so much in advance!
I am building a base of vendor records. Each record has a first name, last name, and vendor ID. Ideally, the unique ID would be the primary field. However, when using the "linked records" field in other tables, I have to enter the Vendor ID, which I don't know off the top of my head -- I have to flip over to the other record, look up the ID, flip back and input the ID to get the correct association. Is there a way to use the Last Name in a different table to associate with a record that has a primary field of the Vendor ID?My current work around is to use =concatenate(first name, last name), which is perfect for the above scenario. However, when I import bills from my accounting software, it imports using the Vendor ID number -- so it's the same problem the other way around. If using the concatenated primary field, I need to know how to associate the vendor ID with the correct record when it imports from my financial software.I hope this makes sense and thank you in advance for the ass
I have a base that measures how many consultations our firm has booked in a given day. We have all inquiries logged onto a sheet called "Consultations." The Consultations sheet has details of each inquiry including which rep took the call and the result of the call (i.e. consult booked, may call back, etc.) amount other things. We have two other tables, one for the list of all of the results(i.e. consult booked, may call back, etc.) and the other that lists all of the sales reps that is linked to the consultations table. What I am trying to do is create a view for the sales reps that shows their closing rate (inquires / consults booked = closing rate) however, I want to be able to specify a date range to see if they are improving or declining not just all time. The problem is that I can't filter by the date of the records on the consultation table on the sales rep table. Is there a way to do this?
How do I auto sync fields with another tab in the same workplace? I need to ensure the fields are all the same so that info can be moved over from one to another when the automation I have made is triggered.
How can I set local to the date that every country uses, and not the America only one?
Hello everyoneI am currently setting up the following (I am using the PRO Plan):Talent Database (with all Talent Details) = mother baseMaster Project Base (=Template) each Project will get a new base, as for security reasons and different clients we can not include them all in one baseI included a synced Tab (=Talent Database), so one can see all available talents and select the ones for this project. two criteria are relevant: proposed, acceptedMY CHALLENGE:In the end we want the following information visible next to each talent in the Talent Database (mother base): what where the projects this talent was proposed or accepted for. We want to have an automation for this, based on the information within each Project Base. So we know what projects the talent was proposed or even accepted for in the past.As the talents are taken from the Talent Database and synced to the individual project bases I don't know how then feed some information for these talents back to the "mother ba
I'm new to Airtable with some background in relational databases but I need advice.I have built base for our nonprofit to manage volunteers. The Volunteer table has names, skills, availability, etc and the Personal References table holds several references for each volunteer. The 2 tables are linked with a Volunteer ID field - one-to-many relationship (volunteer-to-references) Typically, I would like potential volunteers to submit their applications via a form on our website.I have tried using 3rd party tools to build forms to add records to these tables but these tools only allow using one table per form. Is there another way to collect this information, populate both tables, and maintain the links? Either within Airtable or elsewhere? Thanks!
Hello!I have 2 slightly different views which I want to sync / share at the same time...one has info for sending mail, and the other will be for receiving responses. We will use one single select field / column that has statuses, so when we send the mails, we will mark it 'sent' and then when we receive the responses, we will use the same field/column, but arranged in a different view which should live beneath the sending view in one single table, but change the status to whatever the responses is which will be a single select drop down menu with responses such as 'interested' or 'maybe another time' etc... all good so far?now, I want to set this up in one main template, and then sync/share the 2 views, multiple times, over and over again, each time I start a new project which follows the same process, right? Then when I update the data in the template, which is the start point 'master contact data' - it gets updated across all the various projects...Sync seems to be really robust
We've just upgraded to Enterprise and we are looking to take advantage of the new "apps by airtable" for marketing. The site says "Preconfigured apps get your teams driving to results faster than ever. Now available on Airtable Enterprise plans." The video is slick.I can't seem to figure out where these are located or how to activate them. Can anyone direct me to them?
I'm setting up a new base and have been thinking through different ways to get to my end goal but I'm afraid I'm making it too complicated. I've searched but I'm not finding exactly what I'm trying to do. Here's my scenarioI have a table with a set of client addresses. I need to use this list as "options" on a form to include in the current months mail run. But I also need to be able to add new addresses. Currently I was planning on having a "base customers", "new customers" and then a "monthly" that pulls the information together by linking the records. My problem with that is I want one column that is street address but with linked records from two different tables they would be in two separate columns. Could I create a formula to combine table 1 street with table 2 street since there won't be addresses in both anyway? Or should I setup an automation that when a record matches certain criteria it makes a new record in the monthly table with the correct information? Thanks!
Hi there amazing community! I am working on a full setup for indy film to be able to do most tasks in AirTable. I have several documents that are required and not sure how to accomplish them.In this case it is a sheet called the "1 Liner" that details out the basic schedule for upcoming filming days. It can encompass multiple days. Currently I have a table/view that contains specifics: Not a problem so far, I can easily print this directly or create a Designer for it. My problem is that it needs to eventually look similar to this with the added brown and black lines with details (note the colors are not what is important, the specific details are): Each of these lines is specific to that "spot" and unique to the situation. I can set up another table with fields that are, say, specific to a date and time but I don't know how to make that all work together for print purposes. Will I need ANOTHER table that somehow merges everything? Or...? I've been mulling this over for quite
i'm trying to create a List view using the list feature that was rolled out earlier this year. i have three linked tables: Events, People, and Tasks. Events is the top level. There will be a number of People associated with each event. Each event will have Tasks and each task will be assigned to one person. The task record is linked to both the assignee and the event. The task record can be linked to only one person and only one project.I expected that the list view would then show me a summary of each event, with the people who are associated with the event, and the tasks that are assigned to each person. My organization runs many events, and some of our people are associated with many of those events. If i assign a task for one event to one person, and ALSO assign a task for a different event to that same person, then in the list view, it is showing tasks that aren't connected to the event under that event. here are some screenshots that i hope will help. Thanks for any help
Hi!I have three different fields which are three different language versions. But the records are the same (the only difference is language). I have this because I have to include these fields in three different language Forms (because it's multiple select type). But I want to connect all these records - I only want to translate them.Is there a better way to do this? I'm new to Air Table 🙂Thanks a lot!
Hi all,I am new to AirtableI am currently trying to create an internal fit out tracker for a construction project for a block of apartments, i am looking at tracking and reporting the completion of each trade completing their task within each apartment.I've currently set up a base with 3 tables in, the first table (see image) lists the apartment number (270 in total)The second table has Fitout Tasks (See Image), which consists of 1st fix, 2nd fix, and final fixThe Third table (See image) is the Fitout subtasks that are the children of each of the above fixes, i.e the 1st fix has 9 sub task that need to be completed so that we can move on to the second fix, the second fix has 14 sub tasks that again need to be completed so that you can then move on to the final fix which has 16 tasks.I've linked each of the sub-tasks(Third table) to the Tasks (Second table) and then linked both the tasks and subtasks to each of the apartment blocks. The problem I am having is that when i mark one of the
Is there a way to group values by only a select number of groups? I have a cell title "groups" where we dump in all records the various groups that we have in our base. i.e. Accelerator, Incubator, Advisory Board, Faculty, etc.. This means when I go to group one section, in this case the advisory board, the group gets split into multiple groups. Those with just "Advisory Board," those with "Advisory Board and Incubator" etc.Is it possible to just group these by "Advisory Board" and "Faculty" and ignore all the other "Groups" that are present?TIA!
Hello,I'm new to Airtable, and I had a question about how I can go about the following process:I have a table in my base that has a research participant's name for each row, and each name has 4 CSV files of measurements attached to it. All 4 of these CSV files have the same types of measurements for each participant. Ideally, I would like to compile all of these CSV files into a table (either in the same table or a different one) where there is a participant name for each row, followed by all of their measurements. That way, I will be able to run statistics based on this data. Does anyone know of a good way to go about this? I've tried some things with the CSV Import Extension, but it seems that importing CSV files from the original table into a new one isn't supported.Thank you!
We maintain an Airtable base for each of our clients, as a central knowledgebase for the work we complete with them. The challenge we have is that we are always finding ways to improve the base/interface design, and there's no easy way of pushing these updates to every existing customer, resulting in inconsistent implementations. The more obvious answer is for all customers to be on the same base. Still, we use multiple interfaces on top for each customer, which then isn't very scaleable or user-friendly for admins having to navigate to the right interface. The other issue here is that we consider this an asset we can hand back to the client when parting ways, so having to unpick just their data when this happens is another potential hurdle. We could build our own custom software to replace interfaces, but we love the Interface design and feature set and don't want to have to invest unnecessarily. Our current update process involves waiting to make a bunch of updates on one cus
We are a nonprofit and have been using Airtable for a few months now to manage 60 grantee teams and all of their data and requirements, and are loving it.We are dumping our organizational database (which is an Association Management System that also powers the website) and getting a WordPress Site with various modules (Event Management, etc.) But it doesn't have a built-in CRM. The CEO came to me and asked if Airtable would work as our organizational CRM on the back-end, and I immediately said yes. But now I'm thinking of all the reasons it may not be a good idea. I have only tried the CRM Lite template so I don't have a full picture. How do any of the Airtable CRM templates handle people with multiple email addresses? (I've seen a log of matching via email)Identification of duplicates? Can the user have a login to update their own info? How could it integrate with a bulk email tool like Constant Contact, MailChimp, etc.?ETA: We currently have 20,000 records in our database.&nb
I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right location, but...I'm creating an inventory checkout base, modeled off of a template created in answer to a question posted in the Community about a year ago. It includes several tables (Equipment, Checkouts, Users, etc.) One of the many great features is that the equipment table includes fields that link to the Checkouts table. There are two linked fields, one for "Check Outs" and one for "Check Ins." They're both linked fields, linked to the Checkouts table, with no distinction between them, but it seems that records created in the Checkouts table will alternate between each linked field. So, for instance, if I create a record in the Checkouts table checking out equipment item A, it will automatically go to the Check Outs linked field in the Equipment table in the record for equipment item A. Then, the next record I create that involves equipment item A (which will have to be a check in, due to the table design) will automatically go to the
We are working with different clients on different Airtable bases. Also internally not everyone is working on every base. We do not want to change this (and include all client data in one base) also for security reasons. But for Management I am trying to do a Base/View/Interface where the Management Team can access e.g. all upcoming campaigns for all clients, without clicking through multiple bases or tabs. Meaning this base should be feeding from all existing client bases. Being able to make changes in this base is not prio 1 (but would be a nice to have though). All bases would have the same setup/columns based on the same templateIf I would sync all client bases to e new tab within my "management view base", would Interfaces allow me to show everything at one glance? Is this possible and if so, how would I do it?
Dual sync question!Base 1 has a list of projects. The project PRIMARY FIELD is a formula combining two other fields.Base 2 has a list of issues. Base 1 is synced to Base 2, user select a project to associate with each issue. (This part is working!)Where I'm stuck....I would like Base 1 to contain a field looking up all of the issues related to that project.Have tried syncing Base 2 to Base 1 then linking the tables but the project association isn't carrying up, nor is the rollup of open issues.
I added a page designer extension where I dropped some checkbox and rating type fields.Previously there were displaying well and now they do not show. Text, single select and formula fields display normally.I have tried redesigning the page and dropping the field a second time, it does not work. Is there a known issue regarding checkbox and rating type fields on the page designer extension ?
Hey there, I own/operate a wholesale industrial supply company and built and Airtable base that helps us track and manage all of our upcoming deliveries (ship to address; jobsite contact; sales order number; etc). As a part of our process, our team logs in Airtable when the sales order has been "picked" from inventory and is ready for shipment. I want to add a way for our team to log how many parcels are on the order (i.e. 1 pallet, 2 boxes) and think a button would be the best way to do that. The desired workflow would be Click Button --> Picking status moves to "Ready" --> form pops up that user inputs # of boxes, # of pallets, and # of bundles, then closes form. Once the form closes, that would then send a print session to our label maker that prints off the delivery information and includes the number of parcels it has (i.e. "1 of 3"). Does anybody have experience setting something like this up? The button to form component is the part that is stumping me
I'm developing a complex reimbursement database and need help:There are 7 divisions, each division has 3 credit cards and each card has 3 reimbursable categories (for example: food, travel, leisure), each division has 8 employees. Each employee has a budget set from the credit cards their division is assigned, For example, Mark from division #1 has $1000 in food funds, $1000 in travel funds & $1000 in leisure funds. What is the simplest way to do the following:When Mark fills out a reimbursement form detailing the transaction(1) He can detail how much of his transaction goes to travel, food, and/or leisure (one transaction can go to multiple categories.)(2) When I go in to verify his transaction I need to be able to see how much money he has left in each of these categories (if he spent more that his remaining budget) (3) Track how much each division, category, and employee is spending/spent.**Note that budget, credit cards, and categories differ between each divisio
I am looking for someone to help me create a team performance board.I have started the process and have mapped out performance indicators using the following fields and so forth. What I want to do now though is actually make the overall performance field update dynamically based on the data I enter in all the other fields. And I also ant to be able keep this as a record every week, when my team leaders complete this document.ie: So they fill it out on friday and it keeps a log and it shows a graph or something on people who arent performing and those who are amazing.I guess I am also looking for someone who can help me build this and really make it into something awesome.I want each of my team members to be able to view their own ratings too.If anyone thinks I've messed anything, please feel free to comment!.
