Base Design

I created a new base in preparation for moving some spreadsheet data. Column 'A' of the sheet is dates.I'm thinking I can set the primary field as a 'date' field and include 'time' in order to make each record unique. After import (copy & paste) I can change the default time (12:00am) to 12:01am, 12:02am, etc. if there are multiple spreadsheet rows (records) with the same date.QUESTION: Is there a potential issue with having a dates in the Primary Field?

Is there a way to wrap the text in these blocks in Timeline view, so that i can actually read these tasks when they fall on a single day, without having to widen them and end up with even more endless side scrolling?I tried switching that field from single line to long in the Grid view, but that didn't accomplish anything.

Hello AT Community, I'm a "newbie" and have really appreciated all the ideas and suggestions I have found here. I have been trying to do something that I think should be pretty straightforward because I know how to do it in Google Spreadsheets easily, but I can't figure out what the best way to do it in AT is. Is there a way to hide options for a field? We no longer want users to be able to select these options but still keep the past records intact. For example an the field Responsible Party has as an option Vendor. Our company is not longer using vendors and we do not want users to see Vendor as an option. If we delete Vendor as an option from the field Responsible Party, Airtable removes vendor from all the records. We then loose that history. Is there a solution to this issue beside creating a new copy of the base.

My company has thousands of different contacts that we want to make a communication log for. The idea is two linked tables, an address book and a communication log. The issue is I don’t know a smooth and quick method to add new communications to the log without running into instance where duplicate contacts are created in Address Book.  how should I build it where employees are first tasked to see if the caller or email person is already in our system, and then, if not, create a new contact. BUT, if they somehow bypass that, delete or merge and duplicate contacts as needed in automation.  

My filer is not working as expected.  I am filtering on formula field.The goal is to hide paid charges and only show unpaid charges.  My filter is filtering on NOT = $0.00.  Showing pictures of file, results and the formula for the field.

I created a base on my own account and then my boss asked to move it to his owns because he has a pro account. How can I do this? We wanna put that one I did into a specific base that he already shared with me.I tryed the sync funcion but doesn't work for us because I cannot create nothing new from there.Thank you.

Hello, first of all I do have a dev background, so I’m open to implement something my self. Anyway, I wanted to create a product roadmap with airtable and let my stakeholder vote/like on it. There are two open points with this: have a button so that you can click vote allow non collaborators to click this button (this is not done to avoid paying for the appropriate plan, it’s just because my stakeholders are not part of the team so it would not make sense to involve them as collaborator) I know I can use airtable API but that means creating a complete adhoc solution, my initial idea would be to just share the link to an Airtable that you cannot edit. I've tried searching this, but can only find where people link two tables, then manually add the relationships for each record.This is my situation.  I have two tables.  One is a list of addresses (123 main st, 234 main, 345 main, etc) and also has owner name (multiple addresses can have the same owner), the other table is owners and info like phone.  I wanted to just link the two tables by owner, so in the owner table, if I click the owner name, it will show all the properties they have.  When watching videos, it seems I have to do this manually by adding each building to the respective owner.  Is there a way that I just link the table and it happens by itself?  I have thousands of records so I can't do it one by one.

I run multiple different projects, each with different team members, so I set-up separate workspaces for each project and gave the respective team members access. Each workspace has a base called “action items” to help me keep track of the many tasks assigned to the various team members, including myself. This structure spreads my personal action items out over multiple projects/work spaces, however I’d like to be able to view all of my action items from all projects in one place. Is that possible? Hi all I am interested in creating a product aimed at early stage startups, where in Airtable, I build a template for helping them keep track of their equity, convertibles and stock options etc. I am specifically interested in a way, where it is possible to centrally to updates to the template which are then automatically deployed to the copies. E.g. if 100 startups use the template, and then I need to update something in the Airtable, it would be great to be able to deploy the changes at once. My understanding is that this is not currently supported by way of making a template (i.e. updates to the template cannot be deployed to the copies of the template in use), but a way of achieving this could be to have all the different users in the same base, and then governing by way of permissions and views that they can’t see or edit each others’ templates. Hi,I am struggling to find a good way to handle this de-dupe problem at the moment. Is there a fast and easy way to identify duplicate records (e.g. "Company Name") and merge them together so that two values are maintained (e.g. "Contact name"). 

Hi, I just started using airtable and I'm having one big problem with the page designer - I added it as my one free extension on the free plan but afterward I had to make changes to the data in my table. I found that when I tried to add new columns to a table, the new data did not appear and the available columns have the old names (new columns *do appear*, just not on Table Columns > Add Column dropdown menu). I tried deleting the extension and adding it again but nothing changes, I tried resetting the cache and logging in and out again but nothing changes. can anyone help? I'm really hoping I can sort it out as exporting invoices is central to my use-case for airtable

I have limited knowledge of AirTable and JIRA integration and I am trying to view each row in their own respective "Sprints," however, some issues within each sprint overlap. How can I separate the additional sprints from each row and have issues move over from one issue to the next if not completed in the current sprint? I can provide additional information if needed. Thanks!

I have a Payment Interface with a Form that creates a new record in my Payment table.  There is a field for Dues Amount and another for Donation Amount.  Both are define with a Currency data type, and with a Default Value of $0.00.  In most cases only one of these fields will be updated by the User.  The problem is that the default value is not being applied to the field the User fails to update.What am I missing?  It appears that the Default Value feature that is available when defining the field characteristics (e.g., name, data type, default value), doesn’t work properly.

I'm trying to create a list with 3 levels and nested records on level 1.Nested records in lists view are records that link to records in the same table.So, I assume they're supposed to work like child records.But, in lists view, they still show up in level 1, as well as in the nested record area. And, as far as I can tell, there's no way to filter out the child/nested records.Has anyone figured out a way around this?I want to filter out nested records so they only show below their parent record, but not in level 1 records.I realize that this might be hard to understand, so I attached a photo.I feel like nested records should work in reverse, somehow.Nested records should refer to their parents, not their children, if that makes sense. Maybe I'm just not understanding how this is supposed to work.

Is there any way to get more rows without upgrading to the Enterprise plan? We do not need any other features that come with Enterprise, and as a nonprofit, we can not afford the plan. Hi everyone, I have a table with a button field. Sometimes I need to click the button for one record, and sometimes I need to click it for multiple records. Is there a way to select all the buttons and have them activated. Sorry if my question doesn’t make sense. I’m just trying to save myself from hundreds of clicks.

I'll give an example to explain what I'm trying to do.  If I have employee x and I have 2 separate tables which schedules employees for a specific day, lets say 6 March 2023.  Is there a way to ensure employee x is not selectable as an employee in table 2 if they are scheduled in table 1 for 6 March 2023 already.  I already have 4 tables separating 4 different sets of instructors, which links to my schedules for my teams of students going through training.  At any given time I have 8 teams of students which all overlap each other on the same day.  So to make life easy for scheduling purposes, I want to ensure if employee x is scheduled on lets say Team 1, can I ensure employee x is not selectable on Team 2 schedule.  I hope I explained this well, and thank you for your time.

Hi,I have an airtable database that captures information from a tally form.One of the fields in the database is date created which is a formula and is the date when the form was filled in.Anyone can fill the form and I want to capture the time zone of who is filling in the form.Can airtable capture the time zone (of the person filling the form) together with the date and time of when the form was filled?I want to sent email reminders with automations based on the timezone of the specific user and creating different automations that work well with the different timezones will not work in my case.Thanks
