Base Design

Hello everybody, thanks in advance for your attention. I work in a TV series, and I have to send scripts for different episodes to some people (crew, cast, etc) and track which revision I sent to whom. I have two tables, one with all the revision sets for each episode, linked to another table with all the people’s contacts. They are currently all linked to a single field in the people’s table. I managed to filter the revisions that I sent to each person in different columns (one column for each episode), but the cell shows me all the revisions that I have sent for that specific episode, while I’d like to show only the latest. Could you please explain me how to do that?

Hey everyone, At the top of my airtable app on my computer is a collection of the bases that I have recently opened in a section called “Recently Opened Bases” and was wondering if there is a way to get rid of this. It has added a lot of confusion in my workflow so anyway to like maybe move it or toggle it off would be awesome. Thank you for any help!

Good Day I want to add the extension that allows me to generate QR codes that give anyone scanning that code to the particular rows details. I would like to see if there is a method where with a password someone can view all the details in that row and then with another password can only view specific information. The information is for viewing only and can only be edited by admin or editors.

Hi, I configured a field to only display information related to a particular view. It does not work !! However, everything seems correctly configured. Could you tell me how to fix this bug? Thank you in advance for your precious help

Hi we use Airtable to manage marketing campaigns for external partners. Many of the partners will run several campaigns through the year. I’m currently using a form to collect invoice details which is updating my campaign table based on campaign ID. However I can’t keep asking partners to complete the form every time we run a campaign. Each partner has a unique number. I have set up a contacts table where partner details are saved against this number. When creating a new campaign I’d like to be able to add the partner number to the campaign table and trigger automatic population of customer records by looking up the partner number in the contacts table. I’ve tried a few ways but can’t work out how to get this to work thanks Clare this is where I’ve got to: 2 x tables linked by Partner No field Contacts table = customer records Test = campaign table Trigger: when record is created in Test Action: find record in Contacts Update

Is there any way to change the background color of sorted fields? I do not like the default color.

Hello Airtable community! I founded an all-volunteer project to help street cats on the island of Vis, in Croatia, and design a calendar every year to raise money for the project. Last year was my first year dealing with calendar orders via Airtable, and I thought I had a clever set-up where people could fill out a form to order. It DID work for that one year, but I don’t think I designed the base correctly, because it’s not sustainable year-to-year. The base is called CALENDARS+ (in case we start to sell any other fundraising items in the future) and all the data I collected lives in a table called 2022 calendar. Each name entered via the form becomes a record, with the person’s preferred language, email address, postal address and the number of calendars they want. If I do this again for the 2023 calendar, there will be lots of duplicate records, so it’s obviously wrong. I need the people’s data to live in one place so that in following years when they come ba

What is the difference between “one month ago” vs “one month from now”?

The name of the grouping fields are not updated to reflect the new name of the base The screenshot attached shows that the Table names are: Live Inventory, Inventory In (+), Inventory Out (-), Suppliers, Installs. However, the field options to group by are Supplier, Usage, Stocking (Old names). Anyone have any idea how to get these to update? I’ve tried refreshing airtable etc.

Hey all, thanks for bearing with me on this one. I offer referral rewards to clients who refer new clients my way. I’d like to track a) who referred a client and b) who a client has referred. See the screenshot for what I’d like to achieve. I’d like to make the process a bit simpler by just selecting the “referred by” field, and have the “has referred” field auto-populate with the relationship. So basically, when John tells me that Carl referred him, I want to fill out John’s “referred by” field, and have Carl’s “has referred” field automatically say “John”. I’ve been fiddling around with this for hours and can’t figure it out even though it seems like it should be simple as dirt. Any clues?

Hey all, thanks for the help in advance. I want to maintain a waiting list in Airtable and can’t figure out how. I have a client list with a single-select: “active” and “waiting” are the two relevant options here. I’d like each client with the “waiting” option selected to be assigned a number, each one integer larger than the last. Then I could use that number in formulas to estimate the waiting time for each person given their spot on the waiting list. If I use the autonumber option I can’t exclude “active” clients, so the waiting list formula would skip numbers. For example, John - active - 1 (shouldn’t have a number, but autonumber gives him one, anyway) Mary - waiting - 2 (should be number 1 on the waiting list) Frodo - active - 3 (shouldn’t have a number) Sam - waiting - 4 (should be number 2 on the waiting list) Does anybody know of a workaround for this, such that my list would read like this? Hey all, I have a rollup field, separated by commas, yes, but what I need is a count of said field, so that I can have the actual number of items represented by said rollup. A simple COUNT won’t work as the field is a rollup. I’ve tried formulas with arrays, etc. COUNTALL(ARRAYUNIQUE({Kaltura PlaylistIds - done})) for example, but to no avail. It’s weird, it was working one day, and now it just reports 1 for everything. Thanks!

Actually, I want a portal where I can add my all data at once and secure it with a strong password. Is there a way to achieve this kind of view or similar where I can easily track the release status of my Product? I have two types of releases I need to track, a “Beta Release” and a “Final Release”. Each release consists of many different type of tasks. The tasks are predefined and I would like to enter them at once and be able to glance at them just like the picture here to be able to tell what I need to focus on. Hi. Just started exploring Airbase. I want to try using it to build monthly financial projections for my service business. Coming from Excel, I’m used to the convention of using columns/fields for months and rows/records for categories. But most of the templates and examples I’ve seen do the opposite creating a field/column for months and then doing a variety of lookup, rollups, etc to put things together. Is this because Airbase favours using fields for formulas? Should I just change my preferences and get used to it? Or am I missing something? I want to build my own base from scratch, because I’ve learned from experience that it’s really difficult to understand a model you haven’t built yourself, and because it seems like a good way to learn Airbase. But I would appreciate it if anyone can point me to good examples of best practice or any other resources for this. Thanks, Paul

Hello, I have a fairly simple question, but I’m not sure how to do it in Airtable: I have a group of students that are completing book reports. I have the “Students” table with a list of all students, and I’m creating a “Book Report” form for them to fill out when they finish a book. When completing their form, I want them to be able to select their name from a Multiple Select list of students in the “Students” table so that their Book Report will be automatically linked to their record. The form is located in the same “Students” table. How can I create a Multiple Select field on the “Book Report” form which is populated using the Primary ID (student name) on the “Students” table? You know in Excel when you double click the bottom left corner of a cell it auto populates all the way down to the bottom row? Yeh… there’s nothing like that in AirTable is there?

Hi, Is there some mechanism whereby I can record when a button (which fetches informatoin from a url) is pressed (and by which user)? I’ve tried the date modified but this doesn’t work with buttons. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks Huw

I have a table that is basically a homework submission table. I made a form for it. Say a record lists the assignment (Homework #1) and I have 3 records for this. One each for Peter, Paul, and Mary. My idea was that they would submit the form, pick Homework #1 and their name from the dropdown, and that when they finished submitting it, that record would go into the record that was waiting. Instead, it maks a new record. How could I have that information go into the existing record?

Hi, I am trying to get the Gallery URL for each record not the URL of Gallery. I want to share Gallery View of each record to my user. I don’t want to share entire Gallery View, just for single record. I don’t want to do it manually for each record by giving condition for each record. Even that so that will not work as gallery view will be always be same, as Gallery View URL remains same. How to achieve this in Airtable?

Just created a “Stages” drop down in my Accounts table… in the CRM base… and… well… anyone that gets added there is… at a minimum a ‘Suspect’ (lowest stage of the funnel) - any way to setup a creation rule that every new account created automatically gets labelled with the 'Suspect stage? Thanks!

I’ll do my best to describe this. Description I have a base with two tables. Table 1 is an import of course records in a csv file. Table two is linked to a sanitized view of this data. Each course has a unique identifying number. Some of these courses are what we call “cross listed” which means that several different majors are in the same class. Example: The same class might be BIO100 and CHEM100. When this happens, the registrar puts a code to connect all the classes that are cross listed. What am I trying to do? I only need to see one of these classes for what we are trying to do. Is there a way to return or filter a “sanitized” list that could do that? I can try to provide screenshots or a sample base, but I can’t share the actual data. What I have tried I feel like I am dancing around the solution. Tried several filters and such. I made Table 3 and linked the course records with cross list codes

Hi All, I am creating a new base however, I am struggling with the setup. I have a large amount of people imam keeping track off and their daily rates plus contract start and end dates. I need to track then and also the rates and provide reminders once contracts ends. How can I automate this table to be easy to navigate and have all this info in one place.
