Base Design

Hi all, Hoping to get some ideas on the best way to structure my base to achieve the concept below. I work with property development projects, and use one row for each project (as in the first pic below). Some projects will have more than one dwelling built on it. Each dwelling on a site might have different characteristics (ie. number of bedrooms). Therefore also being able to separate each project into individual dwellings would also be helpful. I’ve set up this second pic manually to demonstrate the sort of thing I’m after, but I’m looking for a way of achieving this automatically. Is there a way to achieve this? I don’t mind if it’s all within one table, or kept in a second table. Any solutions are appreciated. Many thanks in advance! Regards, AC

I am trying to figure out how to calculate the sum of how many times each option (Easy to use, I lose weight, etc) of both columns (Product benefits, Product features) appears. So basically I want to see the following: Product benefits: Gives me energy: 4 Easy to use: 2 I lose weight: 2 I don’t have anxiety anymore: 2 Product Features: I like the colour: 2 It’s tasty: 2 It comes from South America 1 Can anybody help?

Each class is 15 minutes long and is limited to 10 people.

I have to create a form for reception in order to record people’s attendance, like a checklist. Previously I created a base which consider the following fields: name, last name, school, email, cellphone… any suggestions?

I’ve been searching for a solution and it seems like a simple issue but I cannot get it resolved. I am desperately seeking some help! When I scan a UPC barcode, the 12 digits appear in my barcode field. I want my table to automatically populate in another field the product that is associated with that barcode. We use barcodes internally for inventory management so none of them are registered. So, essentially, I just want AirTable to know that X series of 12 digits is X product. I tried using automations as my solution but that doesn’t work because I can only have 50 automations in my Pro plan and I need this to work on thousands of products. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you!

I have a table where my primary field is a URL. I have a similar table where the URL is not the primary field. When I click on the non-primary URL field in an unexpanded record, it turns blue and then a second click brings up the url in a new tab. When I click on the primary URL field in an unexpanded record, it turns blue. But then clicking on a it a second time expands the record and the mouse is positioned at the end of the url and the link is shown as regular text again. Clicking outside of the field turns it blue again and then I can click on it to bring up the url in a new tab. Is there any way to get the primary URL field to behave the same way as the non-primary field?

I manage a team as they each work on their own independent projects. I already have created a base to track their work but I am not confident it is the best way to go about it. I need the best way to show the progress they are making. Each project has an estimate of how many hours it would take to complete, broken down by task. This is the current setup: One base contains tables for each project A project has its own table that contains an outline of the multiple tasks required to complete the project. It is a very simple table where each task is in its own record. A project table has columns including % completion, completed checkbox, estimated hours, actual hours, start date, due date, and end date The team member assigned to the project has to fill in the % completion, completed checkbox, actual hours, start date, and end date for each task The estimated hours and due dates are set by me One table within this base shows a summary of the progress made on each project Summary table m

This is a pretty complicated framework/workflow question and I wouldn’t be surprised that it would make things pretty tricky. My company has a base with three tables used to track our clients. One for regular recertifications, one for interim recertifications, and one for new clients/moving clients. Clients that fail to meet the needs by the deadline to complete any one of the 3 tables uses have a single selection field where the staff person may mark the “Finalization” status as “Termination” with an accompanying date field with the sent date marking when the “Termination” letter was sent. Another team in my company handles the termination appeals and/or Termination “ends” (fully deleting a client’s record from the program. There are also several other Termination reasons that are processed that fall outside of the 3 tables in my base. It would be great if when staff mark termination in any of the three tables, that in another base or table, a record would be created synced to this

Is there a way to mark a linked record field as mandatory? I have 3 tables like this: Client (which is made up of people who belong to Branches) Branch (which has people in it and has a link to the Company whose Branch it is) Company (which contains Branches) I want to ensure that if someone creates a new Client, they must assign them to a Branch, and that Branch must be assigned to a Company. Can this be done in the tables directly? Can this be done in an entry Form? Can this be done in an Interface? Thanks.

OK, I feel like an ‘Airtable Idiot’ for asking this, but I can not figure out how to use one table to populate the lists that are in each of the other tables in this base. I tried ‘Views’, but I can’t seem to get past the “Primary key” road block! I mean, HOW can I get to the 2nd and 3rd columns in that table??? And you can see the Table Structure base here. I have a table that each record has an effective date that contains data that changes weekly. Is it possible somehow to have the data tied to those records to be view as historical data? My first thought would to be copy the table and date it, but I’ll end with with mulitple tables dated weekly. Essentially what I’m trying to do when item prices change to see the current values and then be able to refence the price of the item in the past. Thanks

Hello, I am trying to set up an Airtable base for all of our company’s employees, along with a list of the software that they have given to them when they start. We want to monitor how we distribute our software licenses so we make sure there aren’t any “dead” licenses given to people who already departed the company. We already have Google Sheets filled with information for current employees and software, but we want to use Airtable’s automation to help us make that process easier to audit. However, this is how the data was transferred from the sheets in a column: Miguel Perez 7/15/20 Created Created Created Created Created Created Created Is there a way to customize the field type for each cell in the column to be different from other cells in the column? This is my Kanban View for Production Workflow. Once a video is reached at the status uploaded, I want to moved to another Kanban view in the same table. How to do that? Hey everyone, Just wanted to check in to see if anyone has heard of an upcoming update to be able to toggle off the “recently opened bases” section in airtable. I still haven’t gotten used to it and find it makes my work flow feel really dispersed and clunky. If anyone knows of an update hopefully coming to toggle this off, let me know, thank you!

Hi, I have created a database to help manage my clients. One table holds the main client info (name, birth date, email, phone, etc.) and I have other tables for the info that varies over time (weight, waist circumference, hip circumference, etc.) Is there a way to create a form where I can view/add data in all those other tables at once?

I community, I need your help. Actually i sell subscription plant. The customer choose 3 or 6 month. I create an automation on Airtable which duplicate the record (by month choose by the customer) and the automation associate product to delivery : for example : order 201821222 The customer choose 3 month, the automation duplicate : M1- 201821222 M2 - 201821222 M3 - 201821222 On these records, i have a column with the plants we have to send. My needs : i want to display on interface the plant send on the previous month. My employee could choose the plant depending on what has already been sent. In my base , I have contract end date column and status column which many values such as active, progress, inactive, done, started, not started yet. when status changed from only these active, progress, started to done contract date should fill-up automatically. Is this possible. If so, please help me.

Hi everyone ! Here is my problem: I have a table that consists of two columns → 1: Company // 2: Company logo. On another table, I upload company information like name, location, revenue, etc (about 1000 records for each upload). The thing I would like to do is tell Airtable to upload a logo to the 2nd table opposite the company name as I could have done in Excel with a Vlookup function. The problem is that on Airtable, before doing a Vlookup function, I have to link to another record, which takes a lot of time as I have to do it for each record… Can someone help me? :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi, I’m designing a database to help manage my client base. I created a main table (let’s call it Table A), for the clients and other tables (table B, table C) for data that I measure over time. I need to make calculations (result = table B/Table C), but only with the last data entered in those tables (B and C). Is there a way to get only the last data entered for a given client?

Hello, I am using Airtable to organize my research project. I have 20 participants, with 19 questionnaires. I will have staff completing these questionnaires at 7 different time points. (Pre op, surgery, 6 month f/u, 12 month, 15, 18, and 24. For each questionnaire, I am keeping track of if the data was collected and if the data was then uploaded in the data base, and if we verified the data after uploading. How would you recommend I do this? Thank you.

if it is possible to post an attachment (.txt file) to an Airtable record (base / table / record / field) directly via API or do we need to post URL and let Airtable download from URL, and if so, what hosting / URL services to people generally use… such as box or google drive… is there a simple / temp host for URL for Airtable? Another question: Can we send a .txt directly to Airtable, or can you only send a URL for Airtable to download the file from?

I’m using Airtable records for individual jobs in my business. I’d like to incorporate timesheets into Airtable and have the timesheet data link to the job records. I’m imagining a separate table for employees and their various pay rates which links to the main jobs table and calculates the cost of the job vs the budgeted amount, but I don’t want the pay rates and job costs to be visible to non-management employees. Is this possible in Airtable? Is there perhaps another way of approaching this problem to achieve the same outcome? I’d love to hear any feedback!
