Hi - I’m trying to track spending for various entities by date, to allow the creation of a chart of spending by month. Our database has a list of Advertisers. And each of those Advertisers is linked to many Advertisements. Each Advertisement has already been assigned a dollar value and each record also has a date. How would I create a chart for each advertiser for what they’ve spent in a given date range — ideally by month and/or quarter? I’ve been able to create a cumulative sum of ad spending per Advertiser, but I’m stumped on breaking it down by month. Any help much appreciated! Thanks!
Feel like I’m missing something obvious…Trying to link records and for some reason my linked field is showing unnamed record…
Not sure if this will be possible but figured this is the group to ask. I’m attempting to automate delinquent account reminders for a dental lab. The auto email reminders will ideally have generic friendly text reminding offices of their past due balances along with our credit card authorization form and the invoice in question.
Hey everyone, I’m new to Airtable. I’m looking to create a form for an event. Each customer at the event will be given a unique card ID number. We’d like them to enter in their details (including the ID number) into a form. How do I create a form whereby if someone enters in ID number 0001, no one else can enter in 0001?
Hello all, I am a new user and working on a project to help people find what trees are native to their location. I am building a database to match plants to zipcodes, which are also mapped to growing zones, etc. My question is about working smartly with my zipcode base, which is over the 50,000 record limit for the plan I am on. I realize that I do not need all of these records, but really just the ones that relate to users on my app. Is there a good way for me to create a “just what I need” base on-the-fly as users add their location information? Other smart ideas are very very welcome. The answer can’t simply be to have an enormous database of zipcodes when it turns out I may only need 5 today, and 500 by the end of the year, can it? Again, many thanks for your help. Respectfully, Chris Robinson
Hi! I am totally stuck here, so maybe I can ask you guys where I went wrong. I have the following situation as in this demo base: Airtable Demo220708 - Airtable Explore the "Demo220708" base on Airtable. In the first table I have different investments as rows with their total values for different periods as columns: Everything is great and I can see the total sum of all investments in the bottom row. Now my question - how do I get the total of each column into the period summary? I.e. The problem is that I cannot use rollup - because that is linked to a specific column, hence I get the same sum for all periods. Thanks in advance…
Hey AT peeps! So the image shown is the multi select our attendees are going to select one or many. These represent real data in another “Training Calendar” base and table: So the question is, how can I, possibly an automation, “attach” the actual event from this second pic/table, based on their entry/selection? since the field is a multi select, I’d need to be able to have multiple “events” attached. Ideas?
Hi - I would like my employees to be able to use Airtable as a place to add their personal objectives and mark them off as complete etc. Permissions is where I am struggling. I would like Employees to only be able to see their own objectives Managers to be able to see objectives of their employees (and add and edit new ones if required) Directors (who have a handful of managers, who in turn manage people) to be able to see their managers objectives and those employees reporting into them. so it’s like a pyramid of who can see and edit what. I’m struggling to find the best way to get this to work thanks
Hello, I’m looking for advice on setting up an event registration portal. We have a series of 8 classes, each of which have a particular capacity. Each applicant is welcome to sign up for multiple classes. We’d like to also track waitlisted applicants - registrations that happen after a class is full - so they can be registered if a spot opens up. Internal needs: A way to view each a list of people registered for each class A way to view all people, with information on their registrations, a way to keep track of payments received (happening outside of Airtable). A way to see people who have waitlisted for a class by date added, so they can be registered if spots open up. External needs A signup form, where people can register with their personal information and choose from all open classes. We’d prefer to do this in one form, where they can choose from a multi-select field, but if that’s more difficult I think it would work to do this as one form submission per signup. I do have
I have a client that I am working with: has a content production company and they have their production timeline split in phases like Shooting , Pre production , post production and Delivery with start and End date like this: What I want to do is to break it through into separate unique records so I can group them together in a Gantt chart and able to see each phase inside the same project like this gird view : Gantt Chart view Is that something I can automate if I have all dates starts and ends in one record , that would be great to automate , because they still want to use the same structure and not to break it down to this as insertions .Thank you guys for your assistance . My Best
I’m planning to use a combination of baseID + recordID combined into a single string as a unique identifier that I want to share w/ end users to represent “ownership” of a document. Meaning, if they have the link, they can access the document. I want to ensure that these IDs are sufficiently random enough that this sharing model is sufficiently safe, and that attackers could not predict/guess future values by inspecting these values. Thoughts? Alternatives? Not sure if I can generate UUIDs, that would be another possible avenue I would trust for this particular use case.
I recently asked for help in this community and someone shared two example bases with me to try and help answer my question. I am now trying to delete them but I have no option to do so. How do I get rid of these bases?
Here’s what I’ve got: In Weekend Shift Tab when Status says Done then remove record from Weekend Shift Tab and place in the Done Tab like this: I’ve followed this tutorial: Airtable Automation - Move A Record To Another Table: No-Code Tutorial - YouTube I’ve made the automation work to pull the data in but: A) It doesn’t erase/hide the original data from the Weekend Shift tab. B) It pulls in every status not just the ones marked DONE. What am I doing wrong? Pictures for automation setup
New Airtable user, I feel I am swiftly adapting to working in this environment. However, one issue I am having trouble visualizing is how to lay out a series of tables to meet this particular goal; any suggestions as to the most organized way to approach this are welcome. What I am looking to do may be able to be tackled in numerous ways. However, I am curious to see what the best practice solution would be as someone new to Airtable. Existing tables: Clients (contains general customer information, such as Company Name, Status, Start Date, End Date, etc.) Client Payments (a small table containing form responses. Values include Company Name, Service Period (month/year), and Payment Date. When a client bill has been processed, the form is completed, and a row containing the company name, service period, and the payment date is captured on the Client Payments table) Billing Periods (contains a list of Service Periods, which are monthly periods stored as dates (i.e., 1/1/2020) starting on
I have created a database to collect information about students focusing on social emotional support. In one tab, I am connecting to my students table from where I am importing all the data concerning my students. In one tab, I am collecting information about incidents where the student has been responsible of misbehaviors, harmer by someone else or witness of misbehaviors. Each entry is one incident. In one tab, I am collecting specific concerns requiring follow up, concern related to one specific students. In one tab, I am collecting notes about students (note related to a specific concern or incident bu simple.ibsrrvations by the counselors that could help o understand dynamic see pattern, and start a process of support if necessary. I have then created an application with Softr from where we can see the data or add data to the database: we can see the data for incidents in one page, the data for concerns in another one and the notes on a third one. On AIRTABLE, when looking at the
Hello again, need to finish this and looking for the best and robust (and easiest) way to do it: there is table product, which contains column price there is table invoices, which contains invoice nr, shipping note nr, product (linked from the tlable product), quantity and the invoice price there is table shipping notes, which contains shipping note nr, product (linked from table product), quantity there is table incoming, which conains shipping note nr, product and quantity is 1 what i want to complete is his scenario. i write values from invoice to invoice table (1 row = 1 product) i write values from shipping note to shipping note table (1 row = 1 product) wait for the items… product come to warehouse. i write into table incoming: number of shipping note, than scan ean (its part of product in table product), and then i want airtable to compare those things: quantity of product on invoice with the quantity of same product on shipping note belong to this invoice with quantity of same
Hello all, my Friday afternoon brain just can’t get my head around this. I have a large database set up for our members and need to add new functionality to it. I have duplicated the base to try and nut it out. I need a column that is for ‘past groups’, of which people could have been in several. I then need another column that relates to current or non current member based on these groups. So Member 1 was in group 1, group 2, group 3 Member 2 was in group 2, group 3, group 4 Member 3 was in group 4 if group 1 ended 2016, group 2 ended 2020, group 3 ends 2022 and group 4 ends 2023 So the current member should only be showing yes if the member is in either group 3 or 4 I am not even sure if that makes sense. I need to set up a view for current members but don’t want to manually change each, I need a way to automate it based on the group they are in. I have tried looking at classroom-type databases, but just can’t work out how to automate that current & past option based on a group d
Hi all, Hoping to get some ideas on the best way to structure my base to achieve the concept below. I work with property development projects, and use one row for each project (as in the first pic below). Some projects will have more than one dwelling built on it. Each dwelling on a site might have different characteristics (ie. number of bedrooms). Therefore also being able to separate each project into individual dwellings would also be helpful. I’ve set up this second pic manually to demonstrate the sort of thing I’m after, but I’m looking for a way of achieving this automatically. Is there a way to achieve this? I don’t mind if it’s all within one table, or kept in a second table. Any solutions are appreciated. Many thanks in advance! Regards, AC
Hey there Airtable community, newbie here. Literally day 1! I am trying to figure out how to calculate the sum of how many times each option (Easy to use, I lose weight, etc) of both columns (Product benefits, Product features) appears. So basically I want to see the following: Product benefits: Gives me energy: 4 Easy to use: 2 I lose weight: 2 I don’t have anxiety anymore: 2 Product Features: I like the colour: 2 It’s tasty: 2 It comes from South America 1 Can anybody help?
Each class is 15 minutes long and is limited to 10 people.
I have to create a form for reception in order to record people’s attendance, like a checklist. Previously I created a base which consider the following fields: name, last name, school, email, cellphone… any suggestions?
I’ve been searching for a solution and it seems like a simple issue but I cannot get it resolved. I am desperately seeking some help! When I scan a UPC barcode, the 12 digits appear in my barcode field. I want my table to automatically populate in another field the product that is associated with that barcode. We use barcodes internally for inventory management so none of them are registered. So, essentially, I just want AirTable to know that X series of 12 digits is X product. I tried using automations as my solution but that doesn’t work because I can only have 50 automations in my Pro plan and I need this to work on thousands of products. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you!
I have a table where my primary field is a URL. I have a similar table where the URL is not the primary field. When I click on the non-primary URL field in an unexpanded record, it turns blue and then a second click brings up the url in a new tab. When I click on the primary URL field in an unexpanded record, it turns blue. But then clicking on a it a second time expands the record and the mouse is positioned at the end of the url and the link is shown as regular text again. Clicking outside of the field turns it blue again and then I can click on it to bring up the url in a new tab. Is there any way to get the primary URL field to behave the same way as the non-primary field?
