Hey ATCF Community! If you want to securely connect your entire database / warehouse from Airtable, we built Bracket for exactly that (https://www.usebracket.com/)! With Bracket, any change in your backend data will be reflected in Airtable, and any change in Airtable will be reflected in your database (e.g. Postgres, Mongo, Snowflake) – or you can sync data in one direction Why did we build this? Because Airtable made databases accessible to non-technical people, but it can’t function as a true backend to a company. With Bracket, you can turn Airtable into a UI for your database to get the scalability of a database with the amazing user experience that Airtable offers. See how it works here p.s. Hello Everyone! I’ve been struggling to count the number of times a field is changed in airtable. For instance, I have a bug tracker table and wanted to control how many times the “status” field is set to “Missing Information”. This is important for process control and have a better SLA with our customers. I think my solution will work for your similars use cases. My solution is: Create a single line text field to receive strings. I named it "Missing Information Reg.; Create an automation that tracks when the “Status” field is changed to “Missing Information” Make the automation update the “Missing Information Reg.” 3.1 Configure in “Fields” as “Dynamic” and insert the field “Missing Information Reg” and then add a single character, like “1” or dash or whatever you like, as long it’s a single character. That Automation will then add 1 character every time the “status” field changes to “Missing Information” and it will go like this, as I chose “1” as my added character: 1 then 11 then

I have been working on an integration to automatically save important emails to airtable for further tracking and attaching emails to various tasks and projects. Hi there, I’m looking for help with the following problem: I have a database of People and a multi-select data field called Groups that people belong to. There are 3 groups that people can belong to, and we expect to add more over time. When I import new data via the Import CSV block, I’d like to merge data around emails (to prevent duplicate instances) and append new data in the Groups column. Here’s an example: If a person in my database belongs to Group A and Group B, and when I import the list that says the person belongs to Group A and Group C, then I’d like the field to say that the person belongs to Group A, Group B, and Group C (creating Group C, if it doesn’t already exist in the multi-select menu). However, currently the Import CSV option overwrites this data. Any thoughts on folks who could help write the script to do this? Hi, for a long time I thought about ‘what IF’ - display bases and workspaces as tables and fields displayed in base schema. I played a little with array transformations and did 2 model bases to use with base schema app. First, 2 levels up, Workspaces are ‘tables’ and bases are ‘fields’. Connections are manually created - I used these lines to display some data flow to my colleagues during knowledge transfer. In general, it’s not very useful. Maybe it can be updated to clickable form to serve as start page, before Airtable develop it’s customizable form, announced in ‘coming soon’. (by way, that’s a great move from Airtable managers - to share such plans with community. it saves time from developing custom solutions, that later may appear in Airtable as native functions). The next, 1 level up, bases as “tables” and tables as “fields”, connection lines are workspaces - I use it as a tool to oversee common picture and think how it can be developed and transformed. I have been in need of a Calendar view that does not compress items that exceed the max number of viewable items in a single day. The interface views all days by Month. There is no limit to the number of items that can be displayed in a single day cell. A form is included to create new calendar events. Hi Airtablers! This is a silly little thing that I though some others might find useful/funny. I find myself living in my ‘demo’ base most of the time. Users come to me with an Airtable question and I often open my demo base and recreate the issue to help them solve it. When I do this I often need to make a few tables and fields quickly, yet creating a new table, naming it, renaming the primary field and deleting Notes, Attachments and Status every time is a pain. Hello, I’d appreciate any guidance or offers on the following! Pro users currently have a couple of ways to restrict access to a view (email domain & password). What I would like to do is effectlively create a third option of “Restrict access to a list of email addresses in table X”. In this scanerio: the anonymous visitor hits the shared url and must enter their email address. System responds with a “Thanks, check your email for a magic link.” System checks table X for the presence of user’s email address in table X. If it is there, generate a magic url and note the time of generation, then send email containing the magic url. When visited, the magic url allows access to View. Magic url is accessed more than 10 minutes after generation, show user a “This magic link is expired. Try again?” message. Note: the email addresses would not be for Airtable user accounts. This would likely wrap around the “restrict access with a password” option(?) For my part, this would be lovel

NEED Airtable AUTOMATION SCRIPTING support: looking for someone to develop a script using my Google Maps static image API key (that works fine in an Airtable extension script) to run as an automation when a record enters a view, to create a map with a marker from an address field and place the map image in an attachment field. Most newsletter products, like Mailchimp, want to both store your customer data and send your newsletters. We’ve built something different. Something more flexible: we don’t want to store your data, we just want to help you use it. I have a table whose user entered fields are susceptible to errors arising from invalid conditions between two or more fields. For example: Start and end dates are optional but if both start and end date are filled out the end date must be AFTER the start date. If the value of the Type field is ‘Underwriting’ then the Underwriter field must be non blank. Depending on the value of a certain status field, the total count of linked record in another field should be just 1, or 0. I want the user to be alerted to a lot of error conditions as they enter data or view records, but I don’t want a whole bunch of formula fields alerting the user and cluttering up the users’ views or interfaces. To keep things simple for the user I created just one formula field to concatenate together all possible error checks. Each term in the concatenation returns a descriptive message if the error check logic detects a problem, or a zero-length string if the error check logic doesn’t find a problem. An extr

As developers, we get roped into codifying a vast and seemingly endless escalation of conditional processing to find and filter records and related tables. Where does it end? Apparently, it doesn’t because as soon as you create the perfect script that loops across many filtering constraints, the client (or management) is going ask for a “slight” modification or you will invariably discover an unanticipated case where you’re standing in a corner holding a paintbrush without egress. This and vastly many of our script projects are fundamentally based on two essential tasks - Filter out the data that we need Perform computations on the filtered data Typically, we use loops to achieve #1. #2 is easy if we get #1 right. But #1 is never simple and rarely performant given enough conditional complexity and records. What’s better than this approach? Feels weird to be writing from the other side again but I wanted to share last week’s stream with Airkit where we built a flow to let users update their information in Airtable with Airkit. The flow Ismaen showed off doesn’t use the usual trick of adding the record ID as a hidden parameter and instead passes it through the API on form submission. Additionally, I thought it was interesting that Airkit “remembers” the session letting the user start off where they left off when filling out the information and has fields like autocomplete addresses.
