To many, script development comes easily and it’s very much like speaking another language because that’s exactly what it involves. Imagine someone asked you to lecture about something but didn’t give you a clear indication of the topic or objective. Don’t force your consultant to read your mind. “Requirements” is a big fancy word that helps developers avoid mind-reading.

Is there an easy way to show all “your” records across a base? No, not really. Which is why I’m developing a custom app do help do just that. Problem Say you have a table of [Projects], which has collaborator fields for {Project Lead} and {Project Team}, and another table for [Tasks] with a collaborator field for {Assignee}. If you wanted to look at all records which have “Kamille” in those field values, you could easily make a a filtered view in each table to do so. However, you’d need to repeat this for each collaborator in your base, and there isn’t an easy way to look at both filtered lists of projects and tasks in one place. Solution “My Records” allows you to select all or a subset of Collaborator-type fields (Single Collaborator, Multiple Collaborators, Created By, and Last Modified By) and filters records from Views of your choosing which have the currently selected collaborator included in those field values. By default, the selected collaborator will be the current user, b
Deleting empty records Sometimes a base ends up with empty records - records with no values in any fields. Here is a utility to delete them from a table. A table with several empty records Using the script The script asks for confirmation before deleting. Because there is no data in any of the fields, the record ids are shown. The table with no empty records: Here is the code: gist.github.com https://gist.github.com/kuovonne/8837d4c153ee1d1e4214412763b5c58e deleteBlankRecords.js /******************************************************************************* Title: Delete Blank Records for Airtable scripting block Author: Kuovonne Vorderbruggen Website: kuovonne.com Date Created: March 4, 2020 Version: 1.0 Copyright (c) 2020 by Kuovonne Vorderbruggen Usage License: MIT License ## Description This file has been truncated. show original
I’ve been using Airtable for about 8 months now, I quite like it. I’ve watched a bunch of the webinars, but I’m far, far from being an expert. I’m hoping to chat with someone one on one to help me brainstorm and implement a database / work process for a small assessment database.
We have a relational database built in Access that I would like to make available online. I have used Airtable in the past and would like to investigate if we could use it for this project. It seems to me that it should be possible. I also have another project to handle the workflow of nominating members for a Club and the submission of documents from different people relating to that one nomination.
Hi everyone - announcing the upcoming launch of my new project - Airguides Airguides offers step-by-step guides to building Airtable bases for common use cases - a CRM/sales pipeline base or a holiday/vacation “request and approval” base for your business for example. The aim with these guides is to get relative newcomers to Airtable from a basic app to one that is humming along :slightly_smiling_face: The first guide - Build a Sales Pipeline App with Airtable - will be released later this week. I’ll post again here when it is launched or sign up here to get a notification for this and other guides. Thanks!

So I absolutely LOVE using Airtable… but I’m finding that using the browser is a huge CPU + RAM sink. So I’ve been working with a small team of developers on a totally new way to get around this problem. We’re calling it “Fractal”, an it’s a streaming web browser. It looks and feels exactly like Chrome, but it runs on a private CPU in the cloud. Think of it as Netflix for web browsing — your computer is just receiving pixels and doing none of the work. It’s a super lightweight way to browse, and it also takes advantage of the fast internet speeds of cloud data centers. Now that Fractal is in its “beta” phase, I’d love to give out some demos to all the Airtable users who need their RAM back. Feel free to message me if you want to give it a try or chat about how it works.
Non-profit seeks Web developer with experience in Airtable API’s to help improve the look of two pages on our website that use Airtable databases to populate. Currently the site is hosted on Wordpress and ideally we would not change that, but if we need to switch in order to improve the functionality and design, I’m open to hearing about it. Please PM or comment below with a link to your portfolio of pages that display Airtable databases in some way. Thank you.
I’m creating a base for many manufacturers and their products and would like to have a consultant guide me along the way. Would like to see some user interfaces that I can model. My first thought is that I’d like buttons that take one to a category. Once in that category, a user should be able to filer on critera. They should then be able to filter across other categories and keep on filtering. Once done they can go to a kanban view. I am looking to get advice to proceed the right way from the start. The users will need to pay to have to this base, so I’ll need them to have a UN and PW. But I’m not sure how these passwords are managed. Do I need to manually assign them a PW? Do I just need to authorized their email address and they then go to a page and create their own password? What is the best way to manage user access with passwords? I will create a form for each manufacturer to fill out and would like their data to automatically get populated in airtable. I see the
We’re looking for a developer to improve our existing sales/royalty reporting airtable and build out a robust inventory management system. We’re small publishing company with 2 different imprints. We deal with physical products, B2B, B2C, many different sales channels, and several inventory locations. We also run our own warehousing and logistics so tying everything together with inventory management infrastructure is key. Our company has been quickly growing for several years so we’re also interested in long term partnerships with a developer to maintain growth and address new obstacles. Feel free to shoot me a PM or drop your contact info here. Best, Nolan
We’ve built a Project Management & Project Tracker Airtable database and maxed out our knowledge from the webinars and tutorials. Looking for expertise to review our work, find and implement efficiencies through scripting as we’ve maxed out our bases’ automation threshold. High level scope of work: 1 central intake base that acts as the ‘source of truth’ for collaboration projects/defined work packages External clients fill out the form to create records and trigger section leads for review Divides up work tasks and distributes amongst 6 different work area/sectional bases Bases and records need to talk back and forth to each other - eliminate manual PMing of records We have the defined workflow processes and triggers mapped. Approx. 30 collaborators across the bases
Hi Airtable Community  I’m Engjell, I’m working on https://nocodechart.xyz/ to create an easier way for no-coders to create and export charts to their websites. An airtable user reached out to me and asked to build an airtable integration and now it’s live on my website. You can create charts and export them to your website with real time data from your airtable database. You paste some data in the required columns and the chart will be generated. You copy a link and paste it to your website and you’ll have the chart on your website. When you change data in airtable database it will automatically update on your website. Hey awesome Airtable curators! I’ve spent the last 6 weeks working super hard to build my new tool - Curateable, which turns Airtable databases into products in seconds. I was struggling to find a platform to monetise databases securely, without having to custom build an integration with stripe, so I built one. You can now sell secure access to your databases with single payments or subscriptions and get total control of who and for who long customers can access your base. How does it work? 1) Connect your database 2) Customise your landing page 2) Set a price and promote It takes less than 10 seconds to auto-generate a secure landing page and you can start selling right away. We’re currently in public beta and offering free plans on all revenue up-to $150 then it’s $15 p/m to use ongoing. Here’s a detailed guide which explains how our product works and why we created this purpose built tool to help you sell secure access and monetise your databases. Thanks, any questions, we’re pret
I am a busy guy. We probably all are. If I share a dedicated workspace with just one table in it that is silo’d off from my real AT workspace, no one can see my other AT stuff, right? AT has PGP? I am asking here If there is a link in that table to a dedicated google sheet, no creator in the AT table can see the rest of my google sheets [or account], right? Cause I had to give permission for the google account. Of course I don’t think so, but it was bothering me. I tried to check by approaching it with a private window as a public view. Last question: is there anyway a creator in an AT base could install any malware into my Airtable? Like a bot that sends the data after the job is done I like Airtable. I really need a tutor. But I have an application to do now. I would like to improve a Google Form by syncing it to a new Airtable CRM. The sync would either happen w integromat or, I could move the form to Airtable. So I hire an Uphold programmer. First problem with using Airt
Here is my solution for tracking time in my job. Scenario - I’m an owner/field service technician. I use Airtable 90% of the time on an iPhone or iPad and need a way to track time per job and/or the same job with multiple visits. Obstacles - Airtable mobile app for IOS cannot run apps or scripts. Solution - Two check boxes (START JOB & STOP JOB) to trigger two ‘last modified’ columns(Start Time & Stop Time). Then a datetime_diff formula in TIME(MINS) to calculate the onsite job time in minutes. - DATETIME_DIFF({Stop Time},{Start Time},‘m’) There is an Automation for every time the STOP JOB is checked. It creates a new record in the TIME table and links it back to the original TASK #(job). Back on the TASKS table, I have TOTAL TIME rollup the sum of all the minutes. Finally the calculation of hours and minutes is completed in the TASK #, but only if the STOP JOB is checked.
Formulas in Airtable can be as simple or as complex as you need them to be. When writing a formula with many conditions it can get particularly difficult. You may have run into the case yourself where you have written a complex formula and somewhere in that formula a part of it isn’t working as expected. It can be hard to find that part. For example, I had in mind an Event Planning formula that could: Give me the number of days, based on {Start} and {End} dates, that an event is occurring (returned as the value “x days”) If the event is only one day, give me the number of hours instead (returned as the value “x hours”) If the event is only for 1 hour, I don’t want the value to read “1 hours” - I want “1 hour”. This is the formula I ended up writing: IF(DATETIME_DIFF(End,Start,'days')+1 > "1", "📅 "&SUM(DATETIME_DIFF(End,Start,'days')+1)&' days', IF(AND(DATETIME_DIFF(End,Start,'days')+1 = "1",DATETIME_DIFF(End,Start,'hours') = "1"), "🕒 "&DATETIME_DIFF(End,Star
I am using airtable to store research data and am needing help getting my records to talk with each other. I’m sure the solution is relatively simple, as some of them are already set up correctly, but I can’t seem to replicate the settings properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am looking for someone who can help me customize or create a project manager that can handle multiple projects and contributors. Looking to be able to create up to date listing of projects by contributor and status among other things.
Hi, I’m part of a health system that is helping lead COVID-19 vaccinations for the state of Illinois. We use Airtable as a waitlist/notification system when vaccinations are available. We can text and email with the system but would like to add the ability to send a simple robocall using Twilio, also. We have the Twilio licensing in place and can handle the Twilio setup and scripting. We need assistance creating the app within Airtable. The app would be almost identical to the existing Send SMS and SendGrid apps with similar inputs. Thanks, Jeff Carroll

Hi, We have an existing Airtable CRM that is based upon last catchup template…Mostly it has developed as we gained customers. Problems: Inventory Management sucks Budget and revenue generated is absent Can someone help by being available? Thank You, Arsalan
Hi community, we’re in our project management suite, we need asistance inmediatly.
We are shifting from Salesforce to a much simpler and easier system on Airtable. We have 75 member companies in our small association. I want to have a way to add a member company (with a key contact) Then, let that person add up to 100 or so more contacts - with a password or unique url. And, let the key contact look at their list of contacts - at any time - and add or delete names. Can someone point me to resources to help?
