Hi all, we had developed a nice data base application, but sometime users have limited access to internet, I’m trying to work around this challenge, so one of the Ideas are: Question:Can the final users in the field download the Airtable application on their Tablets and work on the database offline since there is poor or no connectivity at the sites. Then, when they are back in the office can they sync it to the main cloud-based database Ideas: Download the portion of the DB into CSV to the local PC, then updates offline and then upload it back to the DB, however and afraid the users enter wrong information or get confused by the layout. Install or add an extension to the DB but I don’t know which could be to let the users work offline. I will appreciate your ideas and thoughts …
Hi all,I see that publicly shared interface show record detail pages as sidesheets but not at full width or full screen (even when set to show as full width). Upon closer inspection it looks like airtable have it hardcoded in this class as a style, which is within the overall element, and not at the main embed level so the width for the record details when expanded is always 680px no matter what. Has anyone encountered a similar issue and found a workaround? I also see record link button in the embeds on our website although it is not shown in the interface or in the preview, is there any way through which we can hide that? Appreciate any suggestions if you have faced similar situation. Thank you.
Hi all,Longtime lurker, infrequent poster. This might be a very simple issue, but it’s causing me grief & I can’t find any other posts about it.I have a table with my org’s class schedule (& all associated data) for multiple campuses. This is shared with the org in an interface. I’ve made a few different specific views, but mostly I have our users filter/sort/group the data in a way that suits their various workflows & bookmark the newly generated URL for future use. The customization option works great, and saves me from having to create a million views for all our teams. However, I can’t figure out how to allow users to show/hide fields, like they can in shared views of tables. Examples:Shared table view (with Hide Field option) Shared interface page (no Hide Field option) Is this feature hidden somewhere I’ve yet to find, or is it missing from interfaces? We’re on the Enterprise plan, by the way! Thanks :)
Hey everyoneMaybe I dreamed this, but I thought I could copy\transfer the layout of one existing Record Detail to another Record Detail.I know I can duplicate an existing Record Detail layout to a new Record Detail layout. That creates a new layout which I want to avoid since I would have to reference the new layout to replace a depreciated layout. And I have a lot of those that I need to clean up. Updating an existing Record Layout by using a different record layout is pretty useful. Is that possible? Was it ever possible? Thanks everyone!
Not sure what to title this.In a record detail interface page, there is the option to add a button and perform an action. (Yes, love it!) But it doesn’t seem like the option exists here to add a new record in a different base via a form—the dropdown on the right doesn’t seem to allow it. And unfortunately, “Interface Forms” for some reason still don’t count as “Interface Pages”, so I can’t click on “Go to interface page” and click on my form. The best current option seems to be “Go to external URL”, and put in the URL of the form. But that seems to only open my desired form inconsistently:open external URL in same tab = overwriting my current page, and there’s no way to complete that form, then hit a “back” button to get back to my record detail open external form URL in new tab = often it just doesn’t open.My ideal would be to click on the button, open another modal with the form, which I could complete, then close, and still have the record detail at-the-ready.Does that make sense? A
I am new to Airtable and created my first form a few days ago using the new Form Builder interface. After the fact, I realized there was a field I hadn't included that I'd like to prefill. I read through all the various instructions on prefilling by altering the URL - all makes sense to me - but I can't figure or WHERE to do the URL edit in the Form Builder interface? I can copy the form URL to the clipboard, but WHERE to I put it where the alteration to the URL will be pulished and saved?Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The amount of bugs and lack of feature parity between Android and iOS is astounding. Is this something that Airtable is working on actively? For example linked records on a mobile interface. There are totally different views for Android and iOS, and the functionality between the two is completely different. iPhones can only add linked records from the "pill" view (which is a bug with the card view for iPhones only), but the pill view has an android bug that doesn't let them add new records through a form from pill view! It feels like I can't win.Android also currently crashes when opening any attached files, or attempting to add any attachments (easily replicable, try for yourself). Android also has no ability to click interface detail view buttons. This is some very critical functionality that has been promised to clients and is not working how intended. These issues are more or less brushed off when I reach out to support. I am posting here so that others can see that you are not
Hello, I have a table with only 2 columns (Name and Creation Date) now I need to send a form from that table but that contains 5 Name fields so that the client can register 5 people at a time and each of them will be a different record.
I have it set so that users can change the sort order in a grid view interface, but how can I set the default sort order that is displayed when the view is accessed? The interface is embedded into a website for public viewing, and I can’t figure out how to set the default order to be a logical one for most viewers. Suggestions?
Hi there - I am building some interfaces for my team that collects data in one table that is linked back to another table and I’d like the team to be able to update both in 1 page. Here’s a hypothetical scenario: I have a table of Owners who are all in my dog training class. The Owner table lists all of the things about the owner. I also have a table that has a list of every Dog in my class with information about them. Many Owners have multiple Dogs and I want to associate the Dogs to the Owner. My real-world example is a lot more complicated with hundreds of records. I want to keep my team from bouncing around multiple tables and manually linking records so am hoping to be able to design an interface page that allows them to add new data to another, linked table. I have a script running right now that essentially asks “enter # of dogs” then “create that many blank records in the Dog table” and then “Link those blank records to the Owner Table.” I feel like there’s an easier way… A but
Does anyone know if you can add Airtable extensions/apps to interface designer?
I want to make it simple for my users to copy a URL or long text field in an interface. I can add a button and it can copy the link to the record, or open the url in the record, but not “copy to clipboard”. What am I missing? This seems like a simple function that could be done?
Hey guys, I have been seeing this “field color” option on list and grid elements in interfaces. Was wondering if anyone knows how it works? The pop out asks for field configurations, but I have yet to have a field that matches whatever configuration it’s looking for. Is this something up coming or am I just using it wrong? Let me know. Thanks!
How do I choose a specific color for a specific field on a bar chart? For example, Medical should be Blue and Industrial should be Green:
Hi - I’m building a project and resource management AirTable for an agency. As a part of this I’d like to be able to show scoped hours against actual worked hours per person per project. As an agency that frequently has a variety of different people working on a variety of projects there has to be some flexibility built into this. Setting up a scoped hour table per project is simple. Having actual hours that the team enter in rollup filter by project is easy. Having actual hours filter by person is easy. The issue is filtering by both teammate and project. Thank you for any help!
The new feature shown here is not working for my interfaces. Is it not yet released to all?
Hi there!I've been playing with the Utilization summary grouped by Assignee in the Project Management template and am trying to figure out if there is a task that is assigned to multiple users show up in each users field and have the time spilt evenly.I see that you can have the time split evenly in the properties settings but when a task has multiple users it shows as a task in whatever the combination of users is because I've grouped by User. I'd rather see the task in both users individual grouping with time split equal.Any one run into this and have a solution?
The persistent comments panel on the right side of the Interface Designer can be distracting and takes up valuable screen space—especially when working with detailed layouts or limited screen real estate. It would be great to have the option to collapse or hide this panel to improve focus and design flexibility without needing to disable the feature.Would love to see this added to enhance the usability of the interface builder. Thanks!
I would love to see the overview interface be able to be shared publicly. I have a base with multiple tables. I use the data to share different information with clients in a read only format. Currently I have to create an interface for each table and share that each one individually. I would love to use the overview interface be available for public sharing so I can link each tables interface page to that and just share that one page.
I have created a gallery style interface with research data I share with read-only collaborators. The base includes a URL field with links to source information. This link is included in the interface, but is not visible to my collaborators. I’ve tried converting it to a single line text and to a formula and removed the https:\\ so it is no longer a link. I’m using the free plan. Any help greatly appreciated.
Hi, I am creating an interface and I Airtable just dropped me into a view of the interface designer where I could easily duplicate and rearrange user filters. However, now I can’t find that particular view anymore. Where can I easily duplicate user filters. Reason why I want this is because I want to add a tab for every month. And otherwise I have to manually add each tab with 2 filters in it.
I have an interface with a list layout. I was under the impression that when you searched the list it would search every visible column? However when I search for fx “1073” it says there is nothing despite it being in my list?Is this a bug, or is it me who is getting it the wrong way? Search says there is no recordsRecords are there
I’m trying to make a button in my interface that will update a date field to today, but it looks like buttons can only update fields to be a specific, pre-determined date. I wish the function was there to add relative dates like today, yesterday, a week from now, etc.
I’m working with a list layout interface. I’ve toggled the option on for users to filter, but the dropdown is not offering me all fields, only a (unknown what) selection. (Sorry for huge images, I still can’t figure out how to resize.) The field I’m looking for is called © Email. It’s a single line text field and it is the primary field in table. Instead I can only some other fields with email in the name. Is this an Airtable limitation or am I don’t something wrong? I can’t find documentation on it. Thanks.
