Interface Designer

I've build out an Airtable database that's working well but I'm getting stuck on what to use as a frontend. It's an internal lease management tool that needs to have a client login.We need the ability to have user permissions, an easy to read dashboard that looks nice, the ability to update records and export data.It also ideally should be a tool that does not have a steep learning curve.I started using Softr but then saw that the dashboard elements are only available on the professional plan ($139 a month) which is more than we want to pay right now. I tried Noloco which was great but the dashboard elements didn't present the information the way we needed it and the aesthetics weren't what we wanted.I would be so grateful for any ideas on what is the way to go.Thanks!

I have some items pulling into an interface.  I have 3 three fields.  Priority , User, and a description.  Is there a way to increase size of the user field to show full name versus truncating? I have hidden name but you can see that top one truncated and if there are two leads you only see the first one unless to expand to see all details?

Hi everyone,We're building a decision-making tool. This tool has tables for Topics, Participants, and Positions – each participant takes a position ('Go', 'No-go', or 'I don't know') on a topic. Each position type is matched with a numerical value: 1 for 'Go', -1 for 'No-go', 0 for 'I don't know'.In the pivot table below, we'd like to display the participant's position in each cell instead of his/her position's numerical value. Do you guys have an idea of how to get this done?Thanks!

HiI'm really, really trying to love interface forms and the design is much improved but is it really the case that you cannot prefill linked record in the form? I've tried with Recordid and with the name and it doesn't work. Other fields are fine (that I have tried) but not linked records. I believe its also the case that users need access to the base to submit if its being used as an internal form. Can anyone confirm these, are there work arounds. I'm having to abandon them for now and build with old forms 😞  Cheers Jason    

Hey all! I'm running into an issue when building a form. I am trying to build a publicly accessible form through Interfaces that also includes population through record linking. For context, this is a form that clients can use to order supplies from an organization. My ideal workflow for this would be; the client selects their Record ID in a linking field, and once they do, an automation pre-fills the form with their usual order. They can then edit it if there's something they would like to add or remove.  I've built the automation, and I've built the form - but now how do I get them to work together? Is this feature not possible? Looking for straightforward solutions before I go down a rabbithole! Thank you in advance for your time and help!

Hello, I have the need for a "staging" environment for interfaces. By that, I mean it would be valuable for me if I could "disconnect" the interface from the underlying data when needed. The idea is to avoid having users see intermediate states of the database while it is being updated. While the read-only interface is "disconnected", users can only see the data just before the disconnection and would see the new state once the interface owner re-engage the connection.

I have an order table which contains all of the records of an order. I want to get order confirmation from my customers for their order.I am creating their order by using another form in my order table. Then, I want to visulize these datas, put a button under it (which is confirmation button) then send the link to my customer to see order details, order summary and to get their confirmation via that button.Is that possible? Or how can i do it?

In our Interfaces, we rely a lot on our 'Record Detail' layouts, as this is where we display everything about a project, as I'm sure most users do.We have our data in groups, but it would be great (and seems fairly universal) if there was a clean way to be able to collapse and expand these Groups like an accordion in order to clean up the overall layout, especially when we are displaying lists of tasks, project milesotnes, etc. on one page.Thoughts / Workarounds?Note: We do have conditional groups depending on project types, things hide and show, but I mean a physical way to click to collapse groups into stacks or similar.Cheers!

In attempting to learn how to use this new Beta feature, I’ve created a bunch of test interfaces that I’d now like to get rid of, but how? For the likes of me, I just cannot find where it’s possible to delete an interface. Thanks in advance to anyone who might help. If it’s not possible yet, then please consider this to be a bug or feature request instead.

HI folks, trying to create a record review and dash board in interfaces. I am in editable mode. However I cannot add, change, move or colour elements. The '+' sign at the bottom left corner of the screen does not appear so I cannot even create new elements.  I am an 'owner' of the base so I should be able design and edit interfaces. Any signposts or advice would be greatly appreciated. 

Hello! On the grid view, users are normally able to add new options to a multiple select field. However, when I try to do this on a form, I can only select from existing options. Is there any way to get around this?  

Hi there, I'm on a business plan using interfaces as a ticketing system with multiple external parties. Each external party has an interface with a unique filter condition and are given read-only access. I want them to be able to view the comments too - is there any way I can do this? I've enabled record-level details such that when they click on each row, the individual record shows. however, it doesnt allow me to configure this record-level view with Comments/Activity feed element. All I'm seeing are the Fields, and two other options: Chart and Number. 

I am setting up a KPI tracking sheet for our business but I'm stuck on how to create the layout for data input. Situation: I have KPI's I want to track on a yearly /quarterly / monthly / weekly base --> so each KPI has need of different columns for data input (months / weeks / ...), how can I make a clear overview? Or should i make different tabs depending on the date range for input?Also some KPI's are numbers, some are percentages,.. so i cannot make 1 column for data input. Should i make different columns fe 'KPI number' , 'KPI percentage' and then leave open some columns which are not relevant? I feel there are better options but I just recently started using Airtable so would love to hear from some more experienced users 🙂

Hello, I have an interface that generates data based on individual users' data. When I share this, the link looks like:https://airtable.com/(appID)/(interfaceID)I want to use URL filtering to display the data for a specific user in the Airtable based on their email. The user's email can be found in a list of users called "Students," the field for their email is called "Email." Hello All!New to Airtable but loving it so far!I created a CRM for my company, and also created several interfaces for employees to use the CRM. Everyone uses the interfaces on the Airtable mobile app on their iphone.One of the interfaces is a Referral Log, that allows users to add client referrals, comment, and keep track of them. Every employee has full access to this Referral Log interface, and can edit, create, etc.I have built everything to be seamless, and it is perfect so far - save for one issue:When a user comments on a Referral, or uses the @ symbol to add someone to the thread - they receive a notification that someone commented or mentioned them. This notification exists in the "notifications" menu in the apps base menus. However when you click into the notification a message appears "This page is not supported on mobile. Go to Desktop view." - the annoying part is you can easily just go to the record you were mentioned in and view the

Hi - looking for some assistance with an interface where I am looking to achieve filtering according to a selection. The example is as follows, I have a timeline view which we will filter by a 'Customer' field, which we would then subsequently want a field which we have called 'Deals' that only relating to the specific customer. The currently 'Deal' filter is a look up field which comes from a separate base.  

When I use the user search in my list interface, it displays "4 results" in the search field but no items show in the list. What am I missing?

Hi,I am trying to understand how interfaces and users interact. I have a series of interfaces that I intend to have users edit the information for certain fields.I have set up the interface pages to have the correct fields editable and I set up a user (different from the owner) so that I could check that it is working properly. When I go into it with the test user though set as an Editor, I am unable to edit the fields that I should be able to. Can anyone please explain how this work, or how I should have the interfaces so that they can be edited by users? Thanks in advance for anyone's help. S

Hi, I'm currently trying to display my teams averages in an interface. In my table, I have a user field where records are assigned to a team member, a date completed field and a status field where the team marks "Complete" when finished.In my interface, I would like to display the average count completed per day. I know this can be accomplished through lookup/rollup fields but I'm struggling to get it to work properly and would really appreciate some assistance.

Is it possible to change the position of the menu in Interface so that it appears at the top? Or maybe on the right side?I would be happy to helpthanks! 

At roughly 4pm EST 8/19/24 none of my users, including myself (admin) could no longer click linked records to see the detail screen for the latest (non-legacy) interfaces I have built.  The legacy interfaces still allow for linked records to be clicked into detail screens.It was working fine one minute, no changes to the interface were made, then the links simply stopped showing the flyout windows when the records were clicked.  When editing the interface and selecting the link destination it gives you the icon to test the flyout of the link and that does not work either.  Nothing at all happens when clicking the records.  No settings were updated or changed.  When I dug into it I did find that I could update my layout I was trying to click into and "Upgrade it out of legacy", however, when I attempted to do that it froze the page up and never was able to accomplish the upgrade.It feels like an update went out that accidentally caused this issu

Hi guys! I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or something has recently changed? Long story short, I'm not able any longer to nest the records through the interface. Currently, I'm working on the new base and I wanted to nest records to organise them in some logical order. For example, if I look at one of the bases I already created, you can see the option to nest the records. Now, I'd like repeat the same process in another base and the option to nest the records is missing?Any idea if something has changed? Thanks!

In my base, I changed content type to multiple sections from single and now when I try to view the calendar view, "content pieces" it gives me a "Field “Content Type” was changed and can no longer be selected" Any suggestions on how to remedy this?
