My client has a team of several Creators and one Owner. They want to make an Interface that is only viewable to the Owner. When I create a new Interface and choose not to share with users (I click "Not Now" on the dialogue box shown below), then I go to Manage Permissions, it shows that all Creators have permissions to the new Interface. I can't figure out a way to remove access to Interfaces for Creators. Is this even possible? Or do they need to be downgraded to have permissions set for them?
My table has 3 fields:One field is country selection - e.g. USA, EU, Canada..One field is product - e.g. table, chair, cabinet...One field is supplier - e.g. supplier A, supplier B, supplier C. Does anyone know how to set rules/conditions in SAME field of airtable FORM INTERFACE at below scenarios? Scenario 1 - select USA and table, filtered option is supplier AScenario 2 - select EU and table, filtered options are supplier B and supplier C I am not familiar "add condition" or "add condition group" in form filtering. Pls. advise if you know how to do it. Thank you.
Hi, my interface was working fine before (like a couple of weeks ago).I created an interface where I can add a "payment" to a given "instalment".As you can see in the screenshot : allow users to create new records is activated. But in reality, I cannot... To me this is a bug... How do I report this for a (fast) fix please ?
Hi friends,I built a pretty robust Interface app for 4 types of users. I applied permissions so the Interface shows only records that are relevant to the current logged in user only. However, I can't get rid of the option for the users to view the Base data (they have the "View Data" option when clicking on the upper left icon in the Interface suite. This jeopardizes my whole Interface app, as users being able to see other users data is a business show stopper. Please advise!
Hi!I'm trying to remove whitespace on the sides of a full-screen expanded view of a record in my interface to make the expanded view of a record more condensed - is there any possible way to do this? I think it was a possibility in the old interface designer but I haven't figured out an intuitive way to do it in this one.
Dear all,I'm using the calendar in the interface; in the month view, if there are more items, accondingly to the zoom setting, only some items are visible, while others are not visible, even though the label "+ x more" is present.Even by clicking in the day the other items appear only for less than 1 sec, after the click. Are there some ways in order to see the title of the items withuot open the right summarize column? Thank you. Best regards. A. Borriero
In the Airtable interface it came to my attention today that Read Only users can see all other users who have access to the same interface. I simply assumed they couldn't share or see this information.Does anyone know how I disable sharing for read only users, or the ability to see who it is shared with? This is totally work stopping for me on my current project. In fact this is preventing me from wanting to use Airtable interfaces for any public facing work, even for people who have paid Airtable accounts.
Hi, I am trying to create a sprint base / interface. The base is most likely already done, but I am facing issues with the interface, since I can set up only 3 hierarchy level. My Goal is to have an interface as a list with following "grouping" or nestingSprint - <DATE>Category (e.g. Webinars, Product Launch, Marketing Events)Project (e.g. <Product Name> Webinar)Tasks (e.g. Create Webinar Slides)Every level shown above is a separate table in my base and they are linked to each other.I tried several ways to solve this, e.g. with Grouping, but grouping is always on the lowest hierarchy level (Tasks), but I would need it for the Projects. Then I could group by Category and my problem would be solved. Another way would be to have no Projects, but instead nested Tasks (only 2 levels required then (Sprint + Tasks). However, this is also not ideal.. because without an interface it is difficult to read the data. Another way would be to have again 2 levels (S
I have a data in airtable of clients. For each clients I want to create a dashboard and share with them so they can check-in daily and see the progress.Let's say I have 100 clients. But airtable interface has limit of 50. What should I do now?
I just found this article today: https://support.airtable.com/docs/mobile-interfaces-in-airtableLike many/everyone, we really, really need a mobile interface view for our Non-profit organization. We're looking at purchasing a cheap laptop to keep onsite, but it would be so much easier to have ONE iPad, which we can easily get donated. I was searching about whether we could use chrome to view our interface on a chromebook, and I came across the above article that was posted yesterday. I have messaged support, but though I'd check here as well. The airtable version in the app store is 2 weeks old, and I am still getting the "view on desktop" message. Looks like google play store was updated on 2/14...guess I need to wait and download it on my kid's android when she gets home from school 🙂
I am trying to figure out a way to generate a bar chart of our active customers. Each of our customer records have a "start date" and an "end date" when they were active. I can easily graph the "start dates" (see attachment) but this doesn't show our cumulative numbers including people who are still active customers. If someone stops being a customer, I still want them to be counted for the years they were active, but not from their cutoff date. The closest I have come to doing this is by linking to another table that has a list of years and basically manually adding customers to years they were active, but surely there is a better way to do this. We have hundreds and hundreds of people. Maybe there's a formula that can do something clever, dunno.Ideas?
Hi, this should be really simple but there doesn't seem to be a way of displaying percentage of a total (fields meeting certain conditions).Basically I have a list of leads. Each one is labelled as "converted to customer", "converted to partner" or has a blank field.Instead of just counting the number of records meeting the conditions above, I would like to know the percentage of conversions to customer and conversions to partner, and display this on an interface page.Thanks.
Without the option to select multiple records, we are required to set dependencies to move more than 1 record at a time. We need the option to click/drag to highlight the records we want directly on the timeline, and then grab and move them all at once. This is available in the non-interface Gantt view. Please make it available in the Interface Timelines too!
Today there was an update called Refreshed linked record picker in Interfaces which makes the record picker for linked fields more compact and consistent. I like the idea, but it breaks some important things in our workflow.Namely, it does not show images, and it truncates the record names. Here you can see a snippet of an interface which shows a linked field. There are a few records already linked (circled in green) with image thumbnails appearing on the right side of the card (red arrow). Clicking the "Add group" button opens the new record picker (circled in blue) which severely truncates the record name and does not show image thumbnails. To confirm the configuration of this field, here are the settings which show that "Part Image" is the first visible field. (Regardless of the position, it always shows up to the right on the cards, which is a handy feature. Here I put it first in line to try to force it to show up in the new record pick
Is there any mechanism which can be used to allow only some records within a list view to be editable? I would like my team to be able to edit records until they are marked as complete, after which editing should no longer be allowed. I'd also like to be able to show the completed records in the same view, so work arounds such as using different views (which is what we are doing currently) make our workflow less easy to follow.
Is there a way to track viewership, clicks, or engagement in general for an interface? I'm currently using Interfaces for a Project Status Update site, and it would be quite interesting to see how users are engaging with its content. I'd love to see a heatmap of sorts as to what pages or content is being viewed most, or where the drop-off is to inform if what I've created is providing value. I could otherwise solicit written or vebal feedback through an Airtable form, but figured data would be another compelling way to gain that feedback.
I make extensive use of the hierarchical list function, but there is one thing I can't work out how to do. I've made a minimal example here: I have three tables, projects, groups and records. Projects can have several groups, and groups contain several records. I would like to be able to filter the view based on which project a group is assigned to. I can add a lookup field inside the record (which is what is shown in my screenshot filtering for project Bob), but I would like to have groups A, B and C hidden in this view, because they are on project Alice. I can't use the 'hide sections with no additional rows' option, because I would like my users to be able to add new records to group F, which is a member of project Bob but empty. Are there any features which would allow me to achieve this goal?
Is it possible to consolidate a list of all forms (and links) to administer from one place?
Hello everyone,I can't find the old page where I could see my published interfaces, my unpublished ones, and create a new one. For a few days now, when I click on Interfaces, I'm redirected on the new interfaces page where I can see all my published interfaces on the left menu, but I don't have any option to create a new one.Has something changed?
Here's the system:Base A: Used for Project Management for an event in January.Interface A: Created on top of Base A for use by other members on the team where data access needs to be considered.Base B: Use for Project Management for an event in February. It is created by Duplicating Base A after the completion of January's event, so that the base undergoes an iterative design process, benefiting from the additions/improvements made to the base during the last event.❌ What I'd Like to Do: Upon creation of Base B by duplicating Base A, create Interface B that is a duplicate of Interface A.I am aware that Airtable does not support duplicating Interfaces to other bases for fear that the underlying data structure will be different (on Airtable's end, I imagine that at the least they should be able to offer the option to duplicate the interface associated with the base at the time that the base is duplicated).Has anyone else found a way to work around this? Re-creating the inter
Hi all, today we’re beginning to roll out some redesigns to the linked record picker in Interfaces. These redesigns should make it easier to identify the data you need to make a selection, reduce some unnecessary clutter, and bring a more flexible experience as you can now easily resize it to fit your screen real estate needs. This redesign unlocks some future features for linked records, so stay tuned for more soon!
Hello, this is my first post here, so I apologize in advance if I have chosen the wrong location or have too lame question.I am designing a database to track people's time on projects. I have three tables: People, Time, and Projects (which is synced from another base). In the Time table, there is a list of time entries. Alongside other fields, each entry is linked to one People record and one Projects record. What I would like to achieve is a List view of the Projects with the following structure:- Project (sum of all time - this I can accomplish with Rollup)--- People (with the sum of time spent on the particular project)------ Time entriesHowever, it's not working because there is no direct linked connection between People and Projects. I can create a Lookup field to show me this data, but that doesn't work in a hierarchical structure.Only solution I have so far is to manually add each person to specific project, but I don't like that workflow 🙂 I would like to know how many h
We are currently opening prefilled interface forms via url but have noticed since the forms upgrade if you open more than one form at a time it copies the partially filled form results. Our use case requires us to have more than one form being used at a time on the same browserIs this a Google Chrome issue or an Airtable issue? Is there anything I could add to the URL to clear any cached data every time a form opens?I know there is a clear form link at the bottom of the form page but didn't need to do this on the old interface form setup?Any help appreciated
I am trying to implement a button for each record in an interface that increments a field in the record. I can get this working in grid view with a button field and a script. But when I go to the interface, all the buttons are disabled.I can get this working in an Records Review or List layout interface with a interface button element and an automation with a script in it. But the user has to click on each record to open the record detail view to see the button. Is there a way to put an enabled button visible for each record in an interface?
I've been using Airtable forms for over a year and they were great. I noticed they changed the interface, which doesn't seem to add to functionality but complicated the process. Also, you can't add linked fields anymore. I had mobile browsers set up, and out of nowhere they became useless when they changed this function. I could be wrong but forms can now only be used for new data. Before, I could add a linked field where I could choose an existing record and add/edit data. The only reason I can think of for making this change is because it was easy for employees to interact with Airtable without having to pay the $12 per month but, what I don't understand is, why isn't available to employees who are on a monthly subscription. I'm really hoping I'm just not understanding the new form function because my use cases for Airtable have become irrelevant moving forward. Has anyone ran into an issue with the new form function? Or, can anyone suggest a workaround? Thanks!!
