Interface Designer

Hi everyone,In an interface form, I have this field that is linked to another source.When clinking the "+ Add record", my end user will have the possibility to link a record from another table.Unfortunately, when I click on the "+ Add record" button, a new form open, with nothing but just the autonumber of the record, and no other details.As you can see on the picture above, just the autonumber, which is somewhat really tricky to know which record to select...Details for the form's parameters here :Can someone please explain how to show all the details from the other table on that form?Thank you a lot,Elie

I have a lot of different clients who are using internal data entry with customized forms through the interface designer.It's such a waste of space now.  And I'm stuck looking like it's external form when I just want a clean internal entry form for my clients for whatever they want to do.PLEASE bring back the internal form maker so I can position and resize the entry fields for internal forms. 

Hey guys,I am looking for a way to add records form a linked field using a form.Heres what I what I have right now:GFX Request Form to create a new dated request in the Requests table, I have a linked field to "Individual GFX"  to track the individual GFX for each request. Obviously on the interface forms that linked field shows up as a dropdown to choose existing records of individual GFX, I need to be able to make new records. I've seen some posts about this pointing to outside forms and I'd like to avoid using that unless you have a reliable secure form site.Let me know if there's some scripting or automation you know of to do this. OR! Is this something that can be implemented in the future oh airtable overlords? 

Hey guys,I am trying to figure out how to use the Timeline Summarize to count the number of tasks with an end date field instead of the start field field from the timeline date settings. I use the timeline to lay out projects phases and milestones and have both displaying with milestones being tasks/records with only "due dates". Currently the count only counts the main date field for the timeline (start date field) when i need it to count the end date. I'm trying to figure out a way to maybe use a formula and sum to count the number of tasks for each day but can't seem to figure out a good way to do that. If anyone has any ideas let me know!Thanks!

Hi there--I'm trying to setup a three-tiered list in the interface builder. Some of the tiers also leverage linked records. I have enabled click into linked record and even designed the card that should fly out when the record is double clicked, but it is not behaving as expected. Instead, it just reopens (click 1) and closes (click 2) the record when I double click on it. I'm experienced setting up interfaces with openable linked fields in general, but have not worked in the multi-tiered list format before. Does it behave differently here?Thank you 🙂

I am trying to replicate something that I know I did previously, but cannot find the right options to do it now.I've created an Interface with a page layout that is designed exactly as it needs to be.  (Record Review, but I don't think that matters.)  It is drawing from Table X, with a filter for only records that match Y.I want to duplicate that page exactly, and then change the underlying filter.  So, this page should be identical except that it's drawing from Table X, and filtering for only records that match Z.  (I do not want to add a filtering element that can be toggled by the user of the Interface.)I did this easily about 9 months ago, but cannot figure out how to do it now.  I can duplicate a page, but cannot find where I change anything about the underlying data or filtering.  Anyone know how?  Thanks! 

I've been scratching my head to why this is not possible, and I still have a feeling I'm doing something wrong but I can't figure out what.I have a bunch of time logs that has been logged over multiple years. Every log has an item linked to them which has a rollup that assign every time log into a category based on the item.My data looks like this: In the interface designer I want a bar chart that summarises all this data.The X-axis should be the years, then the Y-axis should be the amount of time spent.Each bar should be a total of time spend in that year. Then each bar should further be divide into the rollup categories. 

Hi all,I'm using a line graph in an Interface to show number of virtual vs in-person attendees at events each semester, but it's not catching when there are 0 in-person attendees at our virtual-only events. I have the semester in the X-axis, and count of records in the Y, grouped by the "In person / virtual" single-select field, as shown here:This works, except it doesn't 0-count semesters that were virtual-only (no records with "In person" in that field). I underlined the months where we actually had in-person attendees. 2019 Winter had 120 in person attendees, 2020 Spring was virtual-only, and 2020 Winter had 33 in-person, but because there is no 2020 Spring data the graph makes it look like there were 76 rather than dropping down to 0 and coming back up.It's so hard to tell which semesters there is actual data. Hello,Is there a way to hide te starting hour and ending hour in calandar view ? It's a information that I can already see due to his position in the time grid and I would love to remplace it with another field more usefull like notes.Best regards,Simon

How can I make my record list in an interface narrower?  It takes up too much horizontal space and is much wider than the longest record name.

I have created a dashboard with the Record Review Layout in my interface.On that i have used a specific filter for a view, including that a specific checkbox has to be unchecked.Now after the user has checked the record and adjusted some single select fields he should check the checkbox and the record should dissaper from the current view.This is working properly as of right now, BUT it is always showing this error messae:"Your chagnes will hide this record (called progam in my case). This record no longer matches your filters. It will be hidden when you select another record."Is there a way to remove or hide this warning message.Or is there another smooth way to remove the record out of this Filter view.

Hi All,I am trying to restrict which people can be chosen from a dropdown list of people for a user signin/out system. The way the system is designed is such that each group leader can view everyone in their group and none of the other users in the system. A medic can view everyone with limited information and an organizer can view all information for all people.I have created a signin/out table to allow each user to sign in a person, however when selecting a person from the drop down list they are able to see all people, not just the people in their group. Is it possible to restrict which users they are able to select from to be limited to their group. An example can be seen belowI would like to make it so that the user can only see the entries shown below, limited to their group

I’m wondering if there’s a way to open an edit record page within an Interface for a linked record field using a URL. We have several linked records fields for different resource types that get attached to our tasks, so that we can get further info about the resources associated with those tasks, but we’d prefer not to have to display on the edit page all the various linked record fields for every resource type since only one per task is actually linked. We’d used a synced table to unify the different resource types coming from different tables, but we have more than the allotted sync amount. Any idea or suggestions greatly appreciated!

Hello, I want to know if a button in a field in a base can open up an interface page (in list form) with pre-defined conditions? Like for example it shows only those results that satisfy certain criteria. Further any changes done on the interface should also be reflected back to the base through the click of a button. Is this possible through the script extension?

Dear All, for facilitating a workflow, I'd like to integrate an Calendar element in a form interface. From my understanding the new form editor is based on the interface designer, but when you are in the form builder, there is no option to add any other element. Does anyone had an Idea on how can I do that? Many thanks, Claudio

Hi, I've been struggling with this for an hour and I'm hoping someone might be able to help.I have a Timeline Interface that displays a series of tasks, and I want my users to be able to edit the task fields - changing the assignee or the status for instance. I would either like to be able to add additional fields here to the initial small modal that appears when you click a task:Or, I would like to make the fields in the sidesheet editable. Based on what it says on this documentation page that should be possible, i.e. Click into record details - This setting allows end users to expand a record to see more details. You can choose to

Hi all, I have a tracking base for our student organization.  It keeps records of each student involved as well as their involvement (ie attendance, rsvp's, even leases).I'm working to create Interfaces so the other staff members can have a more visually appealing way to view the information.  They are very overwhelmed by the data side of the base haha.  Here's what I'm hoping to do:I have a List Interface page for the students.  Each student record can be clicked into.  In the Record Detail screen, I want to include the fields that link to the various attendance, rsvp, etc records - these will be view-only, just for reference.  But some of these will have a LOT of records linked in them (for our more active members) and that would be overwhelming.  Is there a way to limit the number of records to, say, the last 5 attendances with a little button to load more if they want to?So far, I have tried viewing that field as a List whi

Hello, this morning I noticed a change within a few of my interfaces. Certain elements aren't auto resizing, and I can't manually resize them either. This was a recent change. I tried deleting these elements and adding them back, but they seem to keep word wrapping on the value instead of the heading.    

The interface designer has an update button and delete record button. I wanted to create a button to duplicate record so some of the data need not be reentered. Any way to do it through the automation. I could not seem to get the automation to recognise the current field

Hello Airtable community,I've been working on a project where users input data through a form, and the results are recorded in the base. I have set up a rollup field for each question to calculate the average of the results per field. Now, I want to create a graph in Interface Designer that displays all the columns along with their averages in a single graph and sorts them from highest to lowest average.I'm currently having a hard time achieving this, and I'm wondering if I'm approaching it the wrong way. Is it possible to create a custom view type based on an existing view type but modified?I would like to add columns with labels to the calendar single day view.  Is this possible?  

Hi folks, I am trying to create a calendar view (interface), where it would show events from my connected Google calendar but also events from the table of events I have created in my base, so essentially two sources of information. I found a way how to do it, but I do not find it ideal / satisfactory. I created a table with events in "base A", then I created second "base B" where I synced google calendar events. Then I synced table from base A into the table in Base B and created a calendar interface on top of base B. But this means I have two based with my events and I would like to have them in one. What it means is that I have:BASE A with calendar where I can add / edit events from airtable baseBASE B where I have calendar view with google calendar and also events from BASE A, but cannot edit them or add new because that is only in enteprise package, which I do not have  Is there any way how to show/sync 2 tab

I have two tables. Organisations and Investors connected through common tags.In the first page of my interface I can choose the list of investors from a dropdown. Once I select one investor, I get to see a list of tags connected to the investor on the same page. When I click on the tag, I see the list of organisations connected to that tag on the next page. I go through the list and choose one organisation for the investor using a checkbox field. As soon as I click the checkbox field, I want a column next to it updated with the name of the investor that I selected from the dropdown. Is there a way to pass the name of the investor selected from the dropdown from the first page to the second page?
