can i add a table to “long text” field? i want to add table that include colums " code - description - price" and then in another table at “long text” i want to wrote the code and it automaticly add the row example: table 1 code - description - price “1167 - bike tire - 75” teble 2: i put the code 1167 and it write me the all row(“1167 - bike tire - 75”)

Hello guys. I am working on a data which consists of some groups. At my base, there are many spreadsheets as in the excel. However, when i share that link as a “share view” it just creates link for the first spreadsheet. I want to see that sheets/groups horizontally grouped at shared view. As you see in the secreenshot, I want to show my groups horizontally, not vertically. Thank you very much.

I have a big file in excel and I like a template how can I combine and use the template?

I’ve scanned the forum and I do not see a way to share JUST the view to a specific user in the same way a base or workspace is shared. Am I missing it?

While using a form on mobile, if the screen rotates, it resets the form and all entered data is lost. Totally unacceptable if you want to use the form as a facility to capture a walk around audit / taking photos, moving the phone around a lot, putting it in your pocket, etc… Can this please be fixed? The fear of losing your hard entered data is a BIG consideration as to whether or not you use mobile forms to capture your data AND restricts the use cases for data collection within a business. I think the web version is fine, but the app version causes this issue. Difficulty being that you NEED to use the app on the mobile for everything else, which actually works. And when opening a link to an airtable form it defaults to the app that you have installed instead of directly to the browser. Please HELP!

Let’s say I have a Base with 2 tables “people” and “countries”. The people table contains a “country” column that links to the “country name” column in the countries table. Now I want to sync the grid view in BOTH tables to a new base (so that the new base also contains 2 tables). At the moment, I do this 1 table/view at a time, and in the process I lose the links between the tables (so that the “country” column in the people table ceases to be a linked record and becomes plain text). Is there any way to sync multiple/linked tables without losing the links?

I understand two-way sync won’t work currently, maybe never. But is there a way that I can re-link data? For example… Base A is a Product Catalog for Sales, and shares project data to Base B Base B is a Product Catalog for Designers, and shares product updates back to Base A the product updates appear in Base A, but they are not linked to their original Products. IS there a way to VLookup or automate the re-linking? The idea is that Base A adds items that Sales needs. Base B collects the limited info that is needed for Design to work on projects, and shares limited design updates back to Base A. I currently have this all done in a single Base that gets messy, and gives access to too many eyes on information that is not needed. Since there is no way to block views to tables based on user groups, the idea of Sync has me interested in seeing how to setup this via separate bases.

I have a column of Attachment type. I want to create a formula based on the number of uploaded/attached files. How can I count the number of uploaded/attached files in that column?

I’m not sure if this is an irrational question or not, but is there a way to set up some kind of button (one) that will issue a command to run an entire base/all it’s rows ‘at the same time’? The reason I am asking this is in relation to connecting to automation software like n8n, zapier etc and reducing the number of api calls (they’re not an issue now but could be in the future). In my usage case, I have a table that sends and receives sms via n8n and Twilio. I only want to send messages in bulk on a manual basis. At the moment, I have a Checkbox Table that when checked sends the message to the user, and if I need to send to a 1000+ people I would copy and paste down the whole Checkbox select. The issue in my mind with this is that - particularly as the row count increases with more people in the future - there will become milliseconds delays between the first select and the last select, thereby firing off automations (which activate on select) at different times. Hi Everyone Assuming I have the a ‘location address’ for each user (where the full address is contained in one cell and not separated out in the form of Address 1, Address 2, Region, Country Etc across multiple cells assigned to that specific user), does anyone know of a methodology to return the number of users within a ‘X’ radius? Someone mentioned I could do this via the Google Maps API but would appreciate any instruction on how to do this. :slightly_smiling_face: ? For example. Of 1k users, I require a list of users who live within 5kms of a particular zip/post code. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Stephen

Hi I have a very basic base with a list of locations and their details. I would like to know if there is a way once the address is ‘clicked’ in a record it can take me to a maps product such as Google maps, etc. that will allow directions/location information? Thanks

I don’t think I have come across this before… Activity shows ‘records were linked’ = ‘contacts’, but there are no records linked (at least not anymore) and the activity doesn’t show they were removed? Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi All, at the moment i am looking for a tip regarding previews from Google Drive folders. In my table i have a field where i place links from Google Drive folders - and i wonder if there is a way i can have a small preview of this image (file) in another field in the same table. Actually i can only see the https://… link but its pretty unhandy having to click on every link provided to check the image, the link is leading to. Is there a way. Thanks in advance Best Martin

Is my first time with this tool and I’m not sure that is a DataBase but I need something that is commonly used in excel with function lookv or filter. For example, I have so many records in the DB but I need to fill (I think in a grid) show me the coincident results for example: I have pipes and connectors and so many things in a store but I need when I put pip… the airtable show me the different pipes to choose for example 1/2" pvc, 1/2"iron, 1"steel, 1 1/2"pvc to add to the inventory or if I know the reference the same I put the initials and airtable show me all references that begin with this letters to add or discount the quantity I don’t know if I was clear.

I’ve synced two bases - we will call them Base 1 and Base 2. Base 1 now shows cells A,B,C from Base 2, but I also want Base 2 to show cells D, E, F from Base 1. Is this possible?

Hi everyone, I love the new syncing features but has anyone managed to work around the 1-way syncing? You can’t edit cells that are in the synced database even if it’s a dropdown list.

We are starting to use Airtable forms for most of our registration forms but whenever we share a link through text or on social media, the link preview is a design that says Airtable, and does not actually look like it’s the right link before folks click on it. Is there a way to change this to a custom image? I saw a topic on this in 2020 but it went unanswered—wondering if there has been development since then.

Besides Base Schema, what options do I have to take a pre-built Airtable base and create a visual map/visual workflow to see how everything is connecting, and if a field is a single/multi select, what those options are? As you see in the screenshot, there is a lot going on, and I would like to get this cleaned up!

We use airtable for managing our contacts. So we were updating some of the names in our Airtable database. We tried to paste in the new title for one contact, and somehow it pasted that text into every single field in the entire database! The undo function doesn’t work, and there are no “snapshots” of the dabs we can roll back to, even though they are supposed to be taken automatically form time to time. We can see in the expanded records that the history is still there, but we can’t find any way to restore the data… Can anyone help?

I’ve read through a number of posts on how to set up attendance tracking, and I haven’t found exactly the solution I’m hoping I can build. What seems to make sense to me is something like this: Student Table: Unique Student ID# | Student Name | Sessions Attended Course Sessions Table: Date of each class meeting | Topic | Assignment | Students who attend Attendance Table: Date/time stamp (collected on student entering class) | Student ID Eventually, I’d like to be able to have them scan a QR code as they enter, but I don’t mind working manually for a while. I mention that just so you won’t think I’m too obsessive for collecting the date/time. I need to be able to record whether each student was On Time (including early), Late, or Absent. It seems to me like I could setup a calculation in the Session table that would check the attendance timestamps and record every student as on time, late, or absent for that session.

Hey All! I’ve been using Timeline View to look at our Project Managers project assignments over time and also use the resource allocation summary to see how their workload is. In the past, when scrolling horizontally through the dates, if a records start date went offscreen, there was an arrow indicator that the record extended beyond the window, and the record text would remain on screen and visible. A couple months ago, something changed and when scrolling the record text doesn’t stick to the left of the window making it really difficult to see what projects I’m looking at in this view depending on the timing. Is this a bug or a setting that I accidentally touched that I can revert? Any help is appreciated as we use this view a lot at our company and it’s been a thorn in our side for some time.

Hi So I have a formula: SET_TIMEZONE(NOW(),‘Europe/London’) This should return the current time in London. However it is out by 1 hour. Currently it is 15:28 but the formula returns 14:28. Is this because airtable is not aware of British Summer Time? Can this be fixed?

Hello hive mind, Do you hate it when someone knows just enough Airtable to want to do something complicated, but not enough Airtable to build it without asking for help? Sorry, I’m about to do this exact annoying thing. :grimacing: I have a zillion bases for grouping/sorting at will, but calculations/rollups/etc are my weak spot, and I haven’t learned interfaces yet. I admit this base is out of my wheelhouse, but I’m determined to learn in order to help this charity. I am happy to do my own homework once I know what terms I need to look up in order to learn the relevant features. Here’s my context: I am building an inventory base for a pregnancy center non-profit. Everything has to be on the free plan because they have a very slim margin. Each entry will be a category, not individual items, so we can keep it under 1200 entries. I can do whatever is necessary in the base itself, but what the end user (the director) will see is only a form for inventory item

Hello, I’ve used Airpower to import all my product, customer and order information into Airtable. Now I would like to create a form for my wholesale reps to key in new wholesale orders. I see a way to add multiple products from the variant tab. But I don’t see a way in the forms view to allow them to choose products and associate units with those line items. For example, they would order: product 1 - 3 units product 2 - 7 units etc. I’m hoping to create a new order workflow where we can approve these and have them added to our order tab as a draft order, then trigger an invoice sent to the customer and rep.
