I’m curious: WHEN did field-level permissions arrive? I’ve tried dated-limited internet searches and can’t find anything before 2021.

Newbie question here! I searched the forum and couldn’t find what I needed. Wondering if it’s possible to share a read only link to a view with a URL parameter that filters to only show the records that match the parameter value? Specifically, we have a field called “Group ID” that serves as a parent/master identifier that we use to group records together. I would like to share a read-only link with the Group ID value added on the end as a parameter. The viewer would then only be able to view records that had that particular Group ID. I’m able to dynamically generate the URL and send each time with a different Group ID and only want the viewer to see the records for that Group ID referenced in the URL they received. The general idea is: www.airtable.com/viewid/?groupid=123456 would only show records that had a value of “123456” for the Group ID field. I’m not sure how to

Hello, I’m testing Airtable as our potential new tool in our agency, but couldn’t find a very important fuction, to sort these tables by collaborators to see only records connected to them. Let’s say we have a main table where every project is we are currently working on in our agency. For each record there is a collaborator pinned by his account who is responsible for this specific project. But as we have few employees, we want to create a main table where all the project will be visible for everyone, but also create a seperate tables or views, so a specific person will see only his records. If it’s going to be a table, obviously it would have to be somehow automated, so whenever someone create a new record with him as a collaborator, then it should copy this record into his personal table in the same time. Is it possible? It seems to be such important fuction yet I cannot find it…

I’m reposting this request because my original was closed 15 days after a single reply by a Mac user who suggested a solution that is Mac specific (thanks for the suggestion, though) that didn’t translate to Windows because as speculated, it maps to the Switch Applications hot key combination (). So let’s try this again and hope that some with Windows experience replies within 15 days. I’m on Chrome (latest) on Windows 10 (21H1). I cannot find a key combination that will move the cursor out of a Long Text field. The usual suspects including Esc, “Tab” in various combinations with Alt, Shift and Ctrl don’t do it! I hate having to take my hands off the keyboard to use the mouse just to move to the next cell and then try to find the “home row” on my keyboard accurately with barely perceptible index finger markers. I want to have a form question that is single select. I want the answers to be a long sentence. However, when the form is shown, the sentence is cropped after about 4 words. I think I have a “chicken and the egg” problem. I have created a task list table for freelancers I am working with. I would like them to only see their own tasks and not tasks I have assigned to other freelancers. I can create a view for each freelancer by having it grouped around them as a collaborator. But, in order to add them to a collaborator field, I have to invite them to the base first. So I can’t create the personal view until they are a collaborator. But I can’t invite them until I can restrict them to the personal view unless they are already a collaborator. Am I missing something? Thanks.

I would like to create a Table to check the number of items in stock by date and time. ■Order └ Product Name (Link Table) └ Unit Date ■Production Product Name (LInk Table) └ Unit └Date At this time, the same Product name and Date are used in Order and Production. I want to send an SMS reminder to staff to submit their lesson plans if they haven’t yet submitted it for that week. What formula can I use to look at the most recently submitted lesson plan for that teacher and if it was after a specific date then include/exclude from the sms reminder?

I have a table with ~5k records which I filter to show a subset of, then I create a PDF report of the filtered records including the images in the attachments field. This has been working perfectly until last night, when the images started to output as solid black boxes, but the preview of the PDF in the Apps sidebar was fine. Nothing has changed in my base, except that I hit the 20GB attachment limit which prompted a warning about the base exceeding limits and needing to be upgraded. I modified the structure to avoid this in the short term (but will need to upgrade to Enterprise ASAP anyway), reducing my total attachment storage to 16GB and removing the warning. But the problem with Page Designer still exists even though i’m now well within the limits of my Pro plan (50k records, 20GB attachments). Images attached with private content blurred.

I’m trying to make a column show different currencies. I’ve got a column for price and a column for € price and formula field that is controlled by a 'currency switch' which determines if the price in the formula field is shown in or €. My problem is I need to multiply the formula field with another field but it’s now a string as it has either a $ or a € attached to it. Is it possible to take and convert the numbers in the string back into a decimal?

I am using WPForms → Zapier → Airtable. The situation: In WPForms I have a Form to upload 1-5 Files (Pictures). With Zapier I pass the data from the form to Airtable. The Pictures seems to get into Airtable as a link. The field in Airtable which receives the Link is an Attachment so I get an Image in Airtable. Which is perfect. The Problem: I only get the first url as an image. I want all the urls as an image in the attachment field (up to 5) Any ideas?

We need customers to enter an address, typeform doesn’t have this and neither does airtable, using jotform which is poorly designed. Does anyone have a solution? I mean the maps block uses google api? Why can’t a field?

Integrating Airtable with external calendar applications – Airtable Support However, in Google Calendar the generated events don’t have an end date. Most events in my Airtable last more than 1 day, so that’s a big problem for me. Anyone else had this problem?

I am currently Syncing a Calendar from Google Calendar. In the same base, I have a calendar view of upcoming projects. How can I see both calendars at the same time??

Hi - Thank you in advance for any support or help you can provide. I am not sure which side is the issue but I have filed the very same question on Dropbox Support to see if we can get an answer. I have connected my AirTable Base to my Dropbox to be able to link from my ONLY Drop box account. When I go into my Attachment field -and Select Dropbox - I am only shown two Dropbox folders (I have many folders synced and stored in Dropbox. - I am not seeing all my folders. I have a DropboxPlus with extra storage. I have a Airtable Pro 1 collaborator (aka me) plan. We know that the two folders that are showing are - folders in the cloud only that have been stored up in Airtable but not on my computer. Non of my computer folders are showing when I select Dropbox in Attachment field. The Airtable and Dropbox system both acknowledge they are indeed connected. Hello all! Really glad I discovered Airtable! I was experimenting with the filters tonight, and noticed that it doesn’t look like I can combine “And” searches with “Or” searches. Am I over looking something obvious, or is there another way around this? Example: I have a list of job descriptions, and my client sometimes uses abbreviations. … this is my first time with online database work. I am have a table listing the 50 States, with each having a unique URL field in the record. On a web page, I want to display a drop list of the 50 States. The web visitor will select one State from the list which will then will display the unique URL to the visitor. Hello, I’m using Integromat to look at the Airtable Record Last Modified Time Field as the trigger, then it goes to GMAPS and gets some mileages and comes back and updates the record. Does anyone know how to keep it from recalculating all the mileages and updating all the records, only the ones that have been modified? I have the scenario set to 'Choose Where To Start ’ “From Now On” Its running up a lot of “Operations” in Integromat. Thanks!

Hi guys! So, I’m trying to do something that feels WAY more complicated than it should be. I have a view which groups records by week, then by type, then by status, and we use this as a dashboard to measure activity. However, we’d like a static report every Monday that summarises the counts in each of these dropdowns, otherwise we’ll need to manually ensure we check it every week and scrape the data on a Monday. I’ve tried roll-ups and count fields, but the way the base is set up means having a linked field just for this adds an otherwise redundant step into our users’ day. Even just the ability to do a rollup of things tagged as “content type x” within the last week would be better than nothing, but it’s seemingly not possible. It’s a long-term bug-bear of mine that it’s so weirdly hard to get record counts out of Airtable in an easy way, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Josie

Hi, We have a base that lists our staff calendar and we have approx 20 employees. When we duplicate the data for the next week, it is very cumbersome to keep the hours the same but change the date for each employee as they all work different hours. Is there a way that we can duplicate a previous working week and get the new dates populated in a more efficient manner?
