I have a table that has two fields. We’ll call the table Table One and the two fields Name and Diameters (note the plural form). The name field is a simple string. The Diameters field is a list (or array) of values. As a simple example: Name: “Widget”; Diameters: “1, 2, 3, 4”. Now, I want to create another table – we’ll call it Table Two. Table Two also has two fields: Name and Diameter (note the singular form). What I want to do is create a unique entry for each diameter in the Diameters field in Table One. So, Table Two would look like this: Name: "Widget; Diameter: “1” Name: "Widget; Diameter: “2” Name: "Widget; Diameter: “3” Name: "Widget; Diameter: “4” In other words, I want to loop over each value inn the Diameters field in Table One and use that value to create a new entry in Table Two. Hello, I am trying to link records in a single table to each other to manage a referral program. Here’s what I’m trying to achieve: Jim refers Beth, Bill, Jane. In Beth, Bill, Jane’s records - you can see that they were referred by Jim. In Jim’s record - you can see that he referred Beth, Bill, Jane. Right now, I can only figure out how to reflect this relationship one way. So, Beth, Bill and Jane’s records reflect that they were referred by Jim. But, I am not able to figure out how to get it to show up in Jim’s record that he referred 3 people. Thanks!

HI all, For work, we support a lot of clients and do the same work for them on a yearly basis. We are managing all of this in one base. In the base I have the following tables A table that lists all of our clients A table that tracks our contracts for each of these clients (contracts are renewed annually) A workplan table that has the template for the work tasks that we do each year. While I have my workplan template, I want to be able to automate this list of records for each new contract that is added. Example: For client A’s 2020 contract I need to do tasks A-Z For client A’s 2021 contract I need to do tasks A-Z For client B’s 2020 contract I need to do tasks A-Z etc. I am getting stuck on how to best set this up to automate or script so that I anytime a new contract is created in table 2, I get the automation of the template tasks created in Table 3. I have 2 tables: Review, Config. I want to break the Review table to more view with filter. I expect another user only to view a part of the table. How can I do that? I have research about the permission of base. I can add a view, add a filter, and block the view or change permission for anyone. But this user can remove filter by way duplicate the view and remove filter to see all records. I wonder this is a huge bug with permission. Besides, I have a Config table includes some keys and API endpoint. I expect only me can see the table. Hope somebody can help me. Thank you very much !!!

How I can delete a user without losing data they have entered in certain bases? I am new to Airtable so this may be a simple question! Thanks!

Does anyone see why we there couldn’t be an option to group Kanban stacks by a lookup field from another table (possibly synced), when the multi-select option for linking to the table is turned off? I believe this should satisfy the requirement that each item on the Kanban can appear in only one stack, but also allow stacks based on lookups from other tables. Thoughts and comments before I make an official suggestion. Cheers, Steve A.

Is there a way to restrict a field to X characters, especially in Form view?

I know this is probably a difficult question and is case by case, but with the addition of sync I am debating on what to do. I am trying to decide if I should rebuild my base into separate bases from scratch or try to clean up/restructure my current base? Or maybe even just wait a bit to see how the new sync evolves? My current base has many tables that link together (Jobs, Contacts “employee & customer”, Customers, Cities with various tax rates, Holidays, etc.). I have probably 20 different tables in the base. When I built my current base, I was learning a lot as I was building it and now feel I can build a more efficient base if I were to start from scratch. My current base has one table (jobs) with close to 25k records and over 300 fields, which won’t open on iOS app and causes it to crash (spoke with Airtable and nothing can really be done to make work as is due to size). Hello, I am new to Airtable. Is it possible to display an image/embedded it in Airtable forms? I am not talking about the standard logo/header image. What I would like to do is display images based on if a field was filled or not. Thanks for a your response in advance :grinning:

We have a field called Brands and we’d like to filter out several brands from showing going forward. Instead of adding each brand name as a filter itself in the View, we tried playing around on filtering out by creating a new formula field, and add more brands as we go into that field formula, to no avail. Hey - I have a somewhat specific question for a project management tool I’m trying to build (and I’m pretty new to Airtable, so this is evading me!). (1) On my Overview Tab, I have a list of Projects my team is working on (2) On a Second Tab, I detail out clients that each project pertains to and where they are in the process of onboarding (Step 1, 2 or 3, which are mutually exclusive and represent a work flow through our process). For example, Client A is part of Project X and is at Step 2 of the process. (3) Back on the Overview Tab, I want 3 columns to represent Steps 1, 2, and 3, linking back to the Second Tab to which clients are in each Is there a way to do this? Hi there, has anyone found how to limit the length of a single line text? I need my users to enter a few words as a description, but would like to prevent them from entering a roman (say more than 100 chars) in there. Any idea?

Hi! Newbie here! Loving AT to far. I want to automatically notify my sales team 2 days before a trial is set to expire, so I have a TRIAL START DATE date field, and a DAYS LEFT IN TRIAL formula that does a DATEADD and DATEDIFF to get a days count, that counts from 30 down to zero. That is, your 30-day trial starts today, and every day when I log in to Airtable, I expect the DAYS LEFT IN TRIAL to decrement by one. This all works fine. My question is, can I create an Automation trigger, based on this DAYS LEFT IN TRIAL, checking for when it reaches 0, and initiates the automation? Note that no actual “update event” happens anywhere in the DB. This is just day by day passage of time. I am worried that the developers of AT would require some kind of database update / change for triggers to get calculated. Thanks! : )

Hi I am trying to enter the lead source of every lead to my table. I created on my cards a dropdown list field, named “lead source” with options like Website, Facebook, Email campaign, Phone call, etc… Now on Zapier, I would like to choose from those sources on the zap but I have no option to use those sources I created on Airtable (i can use a single field but not to dropdown) Maybe someone had this issue? Thanks! all other fields working fine because they are not a ready answer but single fields or numbers.

So I was recommended airtable to manage my office staff task. So seems promising. I get the demo, got busy and never used it. Today i jump to pro all because i can color code things and mostly will be used for simple task management and minor project collaboration. So i delete the workspace that was originally their and create and label new ones that now say free. So now I am assuming you pay by workspace and not to just use the program. So the one i deleted is the pro on and is now gone. Airtable has no phone support and i am assuming they rely on their community of paying users to provide their support. How do I get my money back, remove my credit card info and delete my account?

Currently I can only synch one table into the output table. How can i make it work for multiple data tables into one table ? I have a Base where I keep track of all of the feedback I’ve been getting on my product from User Tests. In this Base, I have multiple different tables for each of the tests I run. Each table has all of the data from my tests such as the question being asked, the different answer choices, the number of responses to that answer, and the percentage of people that chose that response. I want to create a chart for each of the questions I’m asking but it seems like the Chart app only creates charts based on ALL of the data in the table. So the end result I am getting is this: A giant clump of all the different answer choices all grouped together.

If I change the table structure in one view, How do i force replicate the same table structure on other views within the same table ?

Look like I am either lucky winner … or all if you are already winners and I have been living in a cave. Seems random accounts not get the Creator plan. The account I am posting now was created 2 months ago intended for community and nothing else and it got the creator plan (I didn’t even know that, otherwise I would have used this for my bases). Yet, today I created another Airtable account (different username) and it also got the Creator plan. So that’s fantastic. I have 2 older accounts they are normal Free accounts. I am planning to move the bases to this creator account. There is little information about these Creator plans so I wanted to share my findings. The screenshot below shows what it includes. When inserting an image to attachment field, is there a way to link a url reference? I am creating a base that features mythological creatures. One field has images. I need to be able to credit an artist or website for the images used. I considered adding a record to the table, but many of the attachment fields will have more than 1 image. Creating 3 or 4 fields to add a reference to each of the images in the record seems daunting. I had poor luck searching for this answer as the word “reference” in my meaning (to credit the original location item was found) is different then the common airtable usages. I hope I used correct terminology with records/fields ect. I’m not confident in speaking this subject.

I duplicated a table. All of my field headers are aligned. I am using the CSV app to import 89 new records in the duplicated table. It processes and says ‘success’, but the fields are not populating. No filters, no grouping, etc are on. I’m so stumped! Anyone have ideas what is going?
