Hi all, I have set up an auxiliary table that has values in columns based on condition (the column name). I have a main table in which I am trying to pull data for items based on the condition of that item. So, I am trying to get Airtable to go to the auxiliary table, look up the requisite item from the main table, and find the value based on the condition that is noted in a field in the main table (please see screenshot attached). There is a field on the Inventory tab that notates the condition and a bunch of columns on the DB tab that have values for each condition. I need to write an automation or formula that tells Airtable to look up the condition of the item on the Inventory table, go to the DB table find the appropriate item, and look up the value based on the condition in the Inventory table.  Thanks for any assistance you can give me.

I want to create rent payment schedule to send to someone after they sign leases for an apartment using the data that I have in airtable. The rent payable is typically the same price every month but sometime if they start not on the 1st of the month the 2nd month is pro-rated. Also a few times are free month rent is given so that month no rent is due. Always paid at lease signing is 1st month rent and one month security deposit. The 1st Month they will always pay the entire amount even if the lease doesn't start on the 1st. The 2nd month is always pro-rated if there is pro-rated rent. I was things about having each month as a column (Sept 2024, Oct 2024, nov 2024 etc) then we can use ai and formula to look up the start date, end date, rent amount to put the data below in a table to send out in an email in automation or I can set up via Zapier. In Zapier I can probably also set up this type of automation but

hi Airtable users!I have a question regarding custom selection of Lookup Field Values in Linked Records.I have 2 tables (A and B). I setup a Linked Field and then 2 lookup fields in table A. This pulls in a Group name Category names from B.Now in Table A, I'd like to manually choose a specific Categories (based on categories from the lookup field).  The steps I'm trying: I choose a group (in the linked field), and then choose categories manually... but I can only see how to show ALL categories in the lookup field OR categories that meet certain conditions. But this is not what I want... I want to choose only specific categories, which vary for each record. There are no conditions for this.How would I do this? Maybe there is a formula?  Please help!How can I choose specific values based on a lookup field?Thank you

Is this something that is possible? I’m feeling limited by only being able to group by 3 criteria.

Oh, this one has me stuck!I have a table of 'Individuals' with an email address and a unique ID on one table, and on another 'Audit' table, I have audit line items with the linked ID. I would like to use a checkbox of 'publish' in the Individual tab to trigger an email that sends a table of relevant data to the right individual. Right now, I have a trigger or 'when records match' showing a few conditions including publish. then Find Records, then Repeat for each List of records, with a send email and appropriate grid in the email. Problem is, I can't convince the automation to sort these, so person A only get their results ,and Person B get theirs. It's a mash of results, not getting split per individual. Because the list of individuals will continue to grow, I can't create a view per individual.Can anyone see what I am missing here?

Hi! I'm trying to set up a conditional automation and the "Otherwise" condition is giving me an error.Trigger: A record enters a view. The view relies on the field {1 week} not being empty. The two possible values are "1 week late" and "2 weeks late" First condition:If {1 week} contains 1Condition 2 should be either:Otherwise, or1 week contains 2 (or equals "2 weeks late")I get success after the first condition but the second condition failsIt feels like i'm missing something obvious! Hello, With the API custom with a filterbyformula, I would like to collect all record, corresponding to my needs, from two differents fields. “Conversation?filterByFormula=%7Bexpediteur%7D%20%3D%20%27${user.email}%27” Like, in this case i would like to get all records into “expediteur” field where {user.email} corresponding. But now in my case, I would like the same but into two fields. (expediteur & destinataire) is it possible ? And how to write that ? Thanks you

Are the record's previous values available in the "when record is updated" trigger?  I'd like to be able to compare the previous values with the current values and act accordingly.  Does this require a code step instead?

I have a database with ages, I have grouped the ages into views and I want to shuffle each members a particular age into a group of five. For example: Ages 18-24, I want the members to be grouped by five members each and at the end of each month, the automation shuffle the members so the members are different for each month.

In many other systems you have an "Edit" button. Until you click the "edit" button, the data is read only. Adding this basic feature would solve A LOT of problems using Airtable. Each and every grid (and maybe other views) should have the now famous Airtable slide switch: Locked or Unlocked. (A nice touch would be a green border around the entire page for unlocked, red for locked.) This would allowing sorting, grouping, filtering etc. and working with the data w/o accidentally changing  the data, something that has happened to us more than once.   

Hello there smart folks! I am building a base for small film productions, and the industry has some odd practices I have to work around. One of those is tracking scenes on scripts in page length in fractions - specifically 8ths.For my personal tracking I have a column that just holds the size in the total number of 8ths (so instead of showing 1/8 page it is 1, 1 and 3/8 pages is 11) which I can then total into total number of 8ths.I now need to convert that back into pages in fraction form to display on one of my reports. So say I have 10 scenes over 5 3/8 pages (so my total is 43). How do I create that 5 3/8 to display?I hope this makes sense!

I have a column of Job Names and would like to indicate which Job Names are unique in that column. Has anyone successfully done this? Essentially I want to do the opposite of checking for duplicates and returning duplicate values in a new column.

Hi,I am working with a list of contacts in my main spreadsheet. I am trying to update a specific information of many contacts simoutaneously. So I created a second table, where I want to input the name of the person, and this information (books received). I want to be able to add a list of people and books on this second table and add these books to the already received books on the main table.I was able to do part of the way, but I am having a problem with the Record ID after the Find record step. For some reason I only see the option of 'List of Airtable Record ID', which I think is why it is not working. It seems like a simple automation, but I can't go around it. Any suggestions?Thank you!

I attended the advanced app building webinar this week (shoutout to the excellent host, Jen Johnson!!) and noticed this new visualization option in interfaces: swimlanes. Is this something that is coming soon? I don't see this option available on my end as an enterprise user. Super excited if it is coming, as it looked awesome in the demo!

I'm trying to set up a paypal scenario in Make.com that adds new paypal transactions into my airtable table. When I try to set up the airtable connection, I use OAUTH type, and it asks for a a URI Redirect URL. I don't have a clue what to use here. When I google, it asks what site I want people to redirect to, but that doesn't help me much.Anyone able to advise?Thanks. 

Hi all!Clicking an URL link in 'list view' does not open the URL in a new tab in the web browser. Instead it 'highlights' the URL in goes into edit mode.I want a click to 'follow the link'. How/is it possible to do that?Thanks for any suggestions!/Jonas

Does Airtable provide the access control, if we want to control read and write access at screen and components level?Means if there are 10 fields on one screen and we want to give edit access for only one field to one person and give edit access for all fields on the same screen to another person

I must be missing something very fundamental.  I converted Airtable's sample extension into my own, and it's running beautifully over localhost:9000, displaying as an extension in my sample base, as you can see below.  Everything functions when I check "simulate marketplace extension"But when I try submitting it for review, running "block submit" from the root (same place I run "block run" from) I got this:What permissions is it talking about?!  What is the "requested model"?  It's my own Airtable account, own workspace/base etc--and the code runs locally.  What am I missing?Thanks!  

I'm trying to use an automation in a base, but there's something wrong with my flow. And it may be that what I'd ultimately like to accomplish isn't possible. In Base 1, I have a single-select field named "Status" with various color-coded options as variables to select from. In Base 2, I have a duplicate of the fields in Base 1, but none of the data. My goal: When the single-select field Status is changed to a particular option (in this case, "Delivered"), the record is copied from Base 1 (Active) and duplicated in Base 2 (Archive). But the flow I have is definitely not correct. So, one, is this possible? And, two, does anyone know what I need to adjust in the automation flow? Thanks so much for your time!

Background: Source table has no records, but fields have been configured. This is a blank copy from another base.Issue:  When in EDIT mode and with Creator access, Interface Layout "Record Review" does not show any page elements (page is blank) and does not allow me to add or remove elements.  I am unable to configure the interface page. I am only able to configure the "Record List".Request: Is there another way to add elements to a Record Review when the source table has no records? 

Hi all,I'm wondering if it's possible to add an option for users viewing an interface (who have access to the base too) to sort/group/reorganise fields in a grid, without having to go to the interface editor.This article seems to think so - https://support.airtable.com/docs/getting-started-with-airtable-interface-designer - but I don't seem to have those permissions on my interface editor.Thanks!
