I’m currently working on a setup where I need to reference data from the previous record in my Airtable base. Specifically, I want to pull data from fields in the previous entry to use in calculations for the current record.Here’s what I’m trying to achieve:I have a field called Current Tank Level in each record.I want to automatically populate a field called Previous Tank Level in the current record with the value from Current Tank Level of the previous record.I’ve tried setting up linked records and using rollup fields, but I'm facing challenges with automating the process to ensure the Previous Tank Level field always reflects the correct value from the previous record. How am I able to grab the previous record entry "Tank Level value" and automatically add it to my "Previous Tank Level" record?

Hello, I have a table with reference fields from another table. I want to lock the values in those reference fields if a record has a certain value in a selected column and not have them updated even if those values are updated in the referenced table. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? Thank you!

Hi all,Wondering if there's a filter or formula solution (not sorting) to filter all results down to only the "Soonest one" ranked according to date field. I have a form in one table linked to a view in another table, ideally so people can only sign up for one linked choice (it's a monthly event registration). Currently I have the filter set for Date within the next month which mostly works, but a day or two before the event, both the current and next month's start displaying (because it's only 28 days away, etc.) Perhaps my logic brain isn't on today, but I can't think of good filter terms to only include the soonest event. The other thought I had was a formula which would assign numbers or filters to the nearest date (-1 for past, 1 for soonest, 2 for next, etc.) and then I could make that the operative filter, but I don't see an obvious example of that in the Formula Reference Base or guidance. Any advice? 

I am trying to get smarter with base designs and newer feature offerings, however im having trouble balancing risk vs reward.Moving a teams workflow to another base makes great strides in decluttering and simplifying bases for teams. However i am seeing that if i want Source and Target editing in two-way synced tables, i can only do so if the permissions are a generic "editors and above" or "creators and above". For example ... i have a field in source table where i am a creator, and i have set this field to allow edits from specific users and i am selected. I then jump over to the target table and try to edit field, and it will not let me. But if i change the source field permissions to all creators or all editors, then the editing works. I am the admin and builder/creator of this workspace, both bases are within this workspace, and i am logged in.Similarly if i choose table permissions to only allow myself to create records and/or delete records. i want t

I’m using AT as an Applicant Tracking System for recruiting. For records in AT, we use the Comment function to provide long-form notes on our candidates. We know the Comments automatically time-stamp the post, but we’re wondering if it’s possible to have the comment also update the ‘Date Modified’ field. This will help us run reports on the last date/time we’ve had an interaction with a candidate in our system.

Hi all, I was wondering if you could help me create a formula that would output an alphanumeric ID based on variables in other cells in the row. I'd like to create an ID that include:First, if Cell A = xYx then add "Z" to start. If Cell A = YxY then add "ZD" to start.Then, take first letter from name and surname, and then add these. So John Smith becomes JSThen, add first 4 digits from date field (DOB). So, 14/11/1980 becomes 1411So, as an example, ZDJS1411.Thanks so much community!

This month I was charged 304.5 USD, currently I have the "team" plan of 24 USD. In the details of this month's invoice there are multiple charges with the concept "Remaining time". Hi Airtable Community,I have a base with different automations with the same trigger. I would like to set an order by with these automations are triggered.For example, I would like Automation one to be triggered first. After automation 1, the automation 2 should start immediately.the easiest would be, to just add another “Find records” and another Repeating Group in this automation. Unfortunately, its not possible to add anything behind a repeating group.I Want specific phases and tasks for projects to be generated. Both needs to be linked to the project and the tasks should be linked to the phases. To do so, I need the phases to be created first (trigger=new project meets condition). After that, I need the tasks to be created and linked to the phases. When both automations start at the same time, some of the tasks are not properly linked because the phase was not created yet. (see Screenshot). 

I'm trying to set up an automation in Airtable and could use some help. Hi awesome Airtable users, Recenlty came across an issue where existing button fields in Interface designer (legacy one) stopped recognizing existing automations in the Automations list. Doesn't recognize any. It was working fine until today morning. Has any come across the same issue? 

I'm really hoping this can be accomplished without needing to create yet another formula field, so I'll give details below and see where I get. 🙂I have fields for start and end dates and then a formula that calculates the duration between them, including when the end date is blank and then it just keeps counting from the start. I want to have a chart show this data on an interface, but I don't want every single value showing uniquely on the chart if possible.Instead, I'd like to have it group them into buckets for things like 0-30 Days, 31-90 days, 90+ days, but I can't see any way to do that intelligently within the interface. My fear is that I'm going to need a formula field that gathers this at the table level and then point the pie chart to that field instead of the duration field.Anyone have a suggestion for the best way to accomplish this kind

Hi Airtable Community, I have a base that I’m using for personal lifelogging which has three tables: activities (“Dinner with friends”), location (“Sal’s Pizza”) and people, (“Nancy,” “Jonathan,” etc.). Those tables all link to each other. However, within the “people” table, I want to show relationships: parents, children, siblings, spouses, etc. Unlike when I link to another table, using a linked record here doesn’t seem to auto populate—so choosing one person as another’s spouse does not automatically fill in the other one. Any suggestions from users or mods out there on how to accomplish what I’m trying to do? Thanks!

I have a base "Inventory and Catalog" to keep track of seed received and varieties. This is the sourceI sync a catalog table to a base "Trials" where data lives about projects. I sync the variety catalog to this base so that users can link varieties into trials and say how much seed they'll use per trial.So i've added a linked record field in the synced catalog table for "trials" and then a field that rolls up how much trialing seed is used per variety. I want the seed used roll up field to then appear back in the inventory and catalog base but can't seem to figure out how to make that happenFor security reasons, I cannot put trials and varieties in the same base because varieties are entered with an external form, and our IT doesn't want that third party to access our trialing information.

Can't seem to find this on the community board, but if it has already been answered - I'd appreciate a link. I have Projects and Subprojects. The latter being the child. So there are a few Subprojects for every Project. On the other hand, I have Project managers. I want to have a "Tasks" table with all the tasks assigned to Project managers. My issue is that I want tasks to be EITHER created related to the Subproject, OR related to the main Project. The same exact relationship issue I encounter is when I have "Payments". A payment can be to a subcontractor - and therefor related to a Subproject. OR a payment can be to a Sales agent who brought the Project - and then it would be to the project. If I create two tables for these (i.e. "Project Tasks" and "Subproject Tasks" or "Project Payments" and "Subproject Payments") then it really just duplicates a lot and it also makes it im

Hi there - I keep getting hung up on lookups and links and it's driving me bananas so it's time to phone a friend! To generalize, I have a "Counterparty" table that lists all of the counterparties our organization has a contract with that includes their state and county (these are also lookups from another table which might be complicating matters). I have a second, "Local Office" table that is synced from an external base that lists every local county office by state that counterparties need to meet with as part of their contract. Each row is a different office and the columns are "state, county, office name, phone, address." Each state is naturally different, so, for example, New York has 10 rows/county offices and New Mexico 4. Super basic, right?I want to link the two tables so that we can create an automation that will automatically inform the counterparty the name and contact information for their local county office from the sync'd Local Office

Earlier today, I deleted some value options from one of my single-select fields (Team Type) in one of my tables - I did not do anything else like delete the field, change its type, or change any field permissions. Now in the Interface builder, a Grid element linked to that table is grayed out with the error message "Field "Team Type" was changed and can no longer be selected". I have hidden and unhidden Team Type from the grid Fields list, and gone into Edit it and then Saved it without making further changes, but nothing I've tried is working. I made this change a while ago, so it is impossible to go back and literally undo the actual option deletion action I did, and the change is necessary for our data so I don't want to return the data to its previous state anyway. Does anyone know what is happening here and how I can restore my grid? Thank you for anything you can offer!

Hey there, I have a automation setup in a client database that is triggered by me changing the status and then sending a calculation to a customer with a link to a reference check interface form, because there are so many people who need their references checked with this form we need to put in the name of the candidate and the reference prefilled in the form. (due to privacy issues we cant have them searching up their name btw)I created a claculation that has the form link and then the url prefilled instructions for the names for the ref and candidate. It brings up the candidate most of the time but the reference not really, Im not sure if its because the reference is in a different table but Ive used the 'prefill_Reference%20Name=Reference Name' and ' prefill_Reference%20Name=Reference RECORD ID' (In the appropriate code ofc) and it works some of the time. Hi there, I'm having issues with an Automation that I've set up anytime a record is updated between Airtables that are all within the same Workspace and have been granted the same permissions at a Workspace level. I'm getting a message that says the update failed due to insufficient permissions.  However, each Airtable belongs to the space workspace and has the same group permissions. Anyone know how I get support on troubleshooting this complex issue?

I have created an interface in Airtable. I want to disable the inline edit option and enable the add/delete record inline. Are there any possibilities to do this?I must enable inline edit records when a table value field is "Yes". Otherwise, it should be disabled. But I found that is not possible. Then When expanding the record from the interface edit form appears on the right side, hiding/showing the visibility of some fields based on condition.But disabling edit inline records in interface settings Add/delete inline option is automatically disabled. Hi there, This question is for the Airtable team. I see that you are using browserify to bundle the block code, would love to also be able to bundle external css files with the block, instead of loading them asynchronously using loadCSSFromURLAsync (which also makes development and deployment more complex). There are quite a few browserify transformation packages that can make that happen, but I haven’t been able to make them work so far, when trying to control browserify transformations from the package.json file. Here are the packages I tried / found so far: brfs - doesn’t work with es6 modules brfs-babel - doesn’t do the transform, for some reason, even when i add {"browserify": {"transform": ["brfs-babel"] } } to package.json
