So, I’m wanting to make an automation where when a new record is added, a custom ID is automatically assigned to that record that is prepended with a tag. So for instance, when a new record is created, it will automatically get assigned an ID like “FR-[date][number]”. So if multiple records were created today, it would look like: “FR-2022042601” “FR-2022042602” “FR-2022042603” and so on. not sure if this is possible, but any help would be immensely appreciated

Hi guys, I have set up an update automation to add a collaborator via a form. (Employees should be able to assign themselves to a project independently via a form) Unfortunately, the previous collaborators are removed. Is there any way to add new collaborators without deleting the previous ones? best regards

Hi, I have simple automation that gets triggered once a record is updated. it populates 4 fields with data. Simple stuff, However, the execution time is more than 5 seconds! which is noticeable I can’t tell what causes the automation to take that much time to execute such a simple task. there is no computation or equation or loop. It just simply fills 4 fields with data. in contrast to apps. where I have a script app that gets executed instantly. if someone could please tell me if there’s something wrong on my end. I need to change a single select record based on a separate date record. The single select has multiple options with the same name but different colours, so how I can using automation specify which option to select as well as which colour As can be seen in the image Confirmed has blue, orange and pink. With automation I need to select a specific Confirmed colour based on the date. I don’t know how to do this.

I’m trying to create an Airtable/Slack automation that sends a status change notification in a channel with options for the Slack user to respond. Example of Slack message: Hi [Slack User]! A request has been submitted with the following information: [Record Information] Please let us know if you approve/reject the request. Thank you! [Approve/Reject Buttons connected to record] I’m hoping that once they select Approve/Reject inside the slack message it will update the Status field of this record in Airtable. I know we can embed forms in Slack messages that they can click and select these options, but I’m hoping to reduce clicks by placing the options inside the message itself (if it’s possible).

Hello, I have an automation composed of 4 “update records”, 4 “scripts” and 1 “create record” modules. Each time I update the scripts, the page freezes for a few seconds as if a static analyzer was analyzing the whole code. My scripts are 40, 500, 40 and 20 lines long. I also have about 20 parameters in total. There are also conditional actions If someone has a clue about the origin of these slowness and advices to reduce them, I’m interested :slightly_smiling_face:

I want to create an Automation that uses a Number Field (field name - Quantity) and a Single Select Field (field name - Can I Make It?). The Single select field only has two options YES and NO Trigger - When Quantity is 0 Action - Update Record Can I Make It to NO I’ve also tried the trigger: When Quantity is 0 and Can I Make It is YES (I’m trying to build a meal prep table where if the quantity of an item in my pantry is 0, it will show that NO I cannot make that recipe.) I’m able to set up the “when record matches conditions” trigger (both with just number field and single select field) but I can’t seem to get the Action set up. I’m not sure what to choose for Record ID or Fields, as the only dropdown option seems to be the trigger I set up. I’ve messed around with several options, but no matter what I choose, the only options seem to be things I can do to the word YES (capitalizing, trim, lowercase) but nothing leads me to ad option where I can choose the second single select option

I have data from two sources. In source A, each record is an Instagram posts with columns for various characteristics (including the date it was posted). In source B, each record is a specific date with columns for various Instagram performance information (new followers, engagements, etc). I want to “connect” the two sources of data to draw new insights. Example: How did each post impact the performance on a specific date? Airtable seems like it should be a great place to do this. I am an intermediate airtable user with a decent understanding of databases. However, I can’t quite conceptualize how to “connect” the data from these two different streams to gain new insights. The various searches that I’ve done only seem to bring up very simple entry level concepts (like manually linking tables). Can someone point me in some possible directions?

Hi, I’m using Airtable for an basic internal CRM database, and i’m looking to automate my unsubscribe process (Currently manual). To do so, I tought about using the new automation Webhook trigger, since SendGrid offer to send POST event to webhooks. But the problem is, Airtable never detect it even if from my documentation reading it should be able to detect it. The event from SendGrid work perfectly with https://webhook.site/ but not with Airtable. Is there a way to ; make it work? communicate the issue to the Alpha feature team so they can improve it?

Hello, I’m a bit new to Airtable and have recently been struggling with setting an automation between two separate tables. There are duplicate Unique Identifiers in each table and I was trying to configure a way that when one item in “Table A” was checked off as ‘received’ it would auto fill the checkbox for the same item in “Table B”. Currently I’m running into issues from being told “unable to render field referenced in this action’s output because they no longer exist in the selected table” but what is being listed is still in my table. I’m at a loss right now as I’ve tried to create an automation for When a record matches conditions, When record created, and When record updated. Thank you for any help!

we have a client who has hired us to manage multiple IT equipment installations (the client provides all the equipment). We have to just focus on providing the manpower. So in order to do that We identify subcontractors/vendors. Once subcontractors/vendors are selected by client, they are assigned projects at sites. At this point a work order needs to be produced with various details - location, schedule, man hours and proposed BOM. This needs to be confirmed by us FIRST from our client and then we forward our work to our sub/vendor. We are responsible for tracking all (budgeted vs actual) man hours, material, equipment and reimbursements. The most important component is collecting the daily work hours and reimbursables for that day for EACH person. we must invoice weekly for EACH site. Batch invoicing at this point is unacceptable for our client (We’re still working this out). What is Batch Invoicing and How can I Do it. Is this Possible in Airtable.

Hello community, I am wondering if anyone has any experience setting up table like this: I am a realtor. The workspace would consist of a table for buyers I work with, their buying criteria filled out in the fields (ie. Min. $200k investment; Min. 2 bed 1 ba, etc). I would like a corresponding table/sheet with property data that corresponds with those buy box fields. If a $150,000 2 bed 1 ba house is inputted into the system, how do I create it so that it automatically emails to the corresponding appropriate buyers? Also would this count as a run per email (buyer) with regards to my automation run limit?

How can I send via SendGrid when a record enters a view? My goal is to send HTML emails - I believe that I’d need to use SendGrid for this as Airtable’s email tool doesn’t allow for HTML.

I am using AirTable to organize my personal consulting business. I would like to sync my Google calendar with Airtable, so anytime a meeting is added I have the duration, my rate, and then the total cost. I’ve tried to sync the meetings, but it only tracks start and end time. How do I automatically calculate duration?

Dear community, someone asked a similar question but the topic has been archived with no replies. My problem is that I have made a table with 10K records made of 4 letters coupons (promo codes) in the primary field. Another column is made of emails linked to another table with my users (Master table). I’d need for unused coupons/records to be picked and assigned to one user each time they join us with a certain status. I am wondering if I would need an automation (from Zapier or Airtable) or a script to achieve this. Thanks in advance!

Hi! I’m trying to tackle an old unsolved problem with Linked Records in Synced Bases, from another approach IMHO. The problem: Linked Records in Synced tables, are shown as a concatenation separated by commas of each Linked Record title. This makes impossible inside an automation to use the “Find records” action, since it won’t match. Solution proposal Inside the automation, have an script action that splits the linked-record-text-field by comma and produces an array or a summary that can actually be used at a next step of the automation. Inside a “Find records” action, search by a dynamic condition where it looks for all the values in the array or summary produced in the previous action. Inside an “Update records” action, link all previous found records in a Linked Record field. Happy to brainstorm it! Thanks!

:wave: Hey there! What’s the best way to identify when an Airtable Automation hits an error? I have some bases with lots of animations running, and it’s pretty crucial that we catch when errors or thrown or an automation doesn’t fully run. What’s the best way to catalog or oddities? Can I run an automation with Zapier to catch these and push them into a Google sheet? Can I set up something with my Gmail account and have errors reported there, and then sent to slack? Hi AT Community! Need a bit of automation help for product management. So I one base called “Product Selection”. In this base, each of my ten territory teams has their own table where they manage their various workstreams, reporting, etc. for their territory. Within each territory’s table, they have a view where they can see all products being released for a season. Each territory marks which products they are going to sell in their territory for the season. However for production, I have one production team serving all territories and they work out of a base called Product Production. I need to sync my Product Selection territory tables into one table in the Product Production base, that shows the name of the product in one field, and the names of all territories that have opted-in as an array in another field. Ideally, this would be an automated process shared by one-way sync. Is this possible?

Hello, I have a table of people and a table of emails. I want to send email from the people base by simply checking a box. Is there a simple automation process to do it ? I would like to have only one automation for all the emails and not to have one automation process per email. Is-it what conditional automation is for? Thanks for your help.

I am looking for a way to check items off the list. Once checked they are no longer on my list. When they are checked wait 3 months and automatically uncheck them. Now they show up in my list again after the 3 month time period. The closest thing I found was a question from 2 years ago and the answer wasn’t helpful. I am hoping after 2 years someone has figured out a way to do this.

However, despite the test History say the Test was a Success, I’m no longer receiving the emails. I haven’t changed any of my conditions or email. Do you stop receiving test emails after a certain amount is sent?
