Forgive my ignorance but I am new to using automations and cannot for the life of me figure out what's going wrong.I am trying to set up an automation to do 2 things:send an emailupdate a recordThe trigger and email portions test fine, but I can't get the Update a Record action to work.It seems to me that it must be something within the Field I want to update - I am trying to have it mark a checkbox once an email has been sent.Any advice appreciated!

I have created a form for team members to submit their "updates on contacts" in our Airtable Database. The field updating actually removes previous content from the field and then updates to the new field submission. What I would like to do is have the automation "add" the new submission to the content that is already in the field. How can I do that?For example, we have a Notes field with previous notes already entered. We would like to keep these old notes but add the new notes to the column when the team member submits the form.

Hi alli'm struggling with an automation and i have done my fare share of research before i decided to create this post. i have a table to track multiple account if the bank matches the books.  Here are my fields: Account, Date last matched, Status My goal is that when the date of the last matched is TODAY the status should be UP-TO-DATEIf the date of last matched is YESTERDAY the status should be UP TO YESTERDAYand so on, see attached screenshot.I have tried different automations but i couldn't find something that would work.Here are some of the stuff that i tried.

Hello, As the image uploaded in Airtable returns the URL of the image, I want to convert the contents of the URL(image) to base64, btoa() converts the URL to base64 but not the content of the URL (Actual Image), I want the uploaded Image in base64 format. Is there anyway to do this inside automation script? Thank you

Afternoon,I've had 2 ideas recently whilst building a lot of automations. Please do say if they already exist and I've missed them.When creating an, "Update record" action, please auto-fill the "Record ID" with Trigger item's record id if it's from the same table as you're updating.1. Every time I'm building an automation, if I'm updating a record on the same table as the trigger, the Record ID, is the trigger item's Record ID. Could AT autofill that Record ID token? Or maybe, a quick function link underneath the input box, "Use trigger record's Record ID" which fills the box when pressed.2. Is there a shortcut key to access the dynamic variables in a field, please? Often I'm filling in a Field in the automation type some words, but have to move to my mouse to press the plus button and access the data key explorer.Instead, maybe like how a

I’m currently working on a fairly large base and I was wondering if there is any way I can link it to Tableau, reason being I would like to visualise the data while I’m cleaning/enhancing it. I know I can download a csv - but I’m wondering if there is any way I can link directly or automate this so when I add a new record or alter data I can see the impact in Tableau.

Hey, we are currently experiencing the issue that a automation changed the way it works. The Find Records Automation used to just fail if it searched for a empty field now it gives us back the maximum Amount of Records it can find(100).These are also not empty in the field that is searched for. Is this a intentional change or just a bug?

English is not my native language.I created an external form with Fillout, which is connected to my AirTable base.When I use the block ‘multiple choice questions’ in Fillout, I have 2 options I am aware of :-Connect it to a ‘single-line text’ field-Connect it to a ‘single-select’ field The first option works great, however the second one, which is the one I’d like to use to get the advantage of the colors, brings up the following problem :Whenever somebody fills out the ‘other’ option in the Fillout Form, it creates a new single-select option in my table, which is great, BUT, at the same time, the form is automatically updated and the new option is now available to new users looking at the Form, which in the end can be a problem if people write a lot of nonsense.On the

Hi all!Please tell me, is it possible to change the rights in the interface on a specific entry after the automation has been triggered?I want to do the following:1) I have a Kanban board - an interface in which, when opening one of the records, you can change the status, date, etc.Is it possible to prohibit changing the status or date of this record when a certain status is reached (for example, done) without restricting others?2) I would like certain fields in posts to be edited only by the record author (the record author creates the post via a form)?Thank you in advance and wish you a good productive week!

I have a tab within a table, the tab is called PTO. the PTO tab has two different views I am working between for this automation. The PTO tab as a whole is populated from forms that are submitted containing requests for time off from employees. This form contains fields for [start date] and [end date] and is intended to capture both single and mult-day requests off. The first automation sends an actionable slack message for approval, which is working correctly. The second automation I am trying to set-up is intended to send a message to a slack channel each day that there is an employee out of office, listing which employee is out of office. (Bonus points for this only running Monday-Friday, even if the dates fall on the weekend).My first attempt at the automation was setting up the second view of the same tab, which would be filtered to only show records based on conditions, but I wasn't able to find a way for the records to populate if the request required more dyn

Hello,I have a Database that includes a table of Users and a Table of inventory (Computers , Monitors, Docking stations and so on).All of our inventory is mapped by serial number.When I give the user a device I assign it to the Air table.I want to have the option to see the assigned history by user or by device.That means if I have a user name Tom, and I gave him on 01/12/2023 a laptop: Lenovo Thinkpad , S/N:ABCD123, and I took it back on 15/01/2024.Let's say I have the record of this computer. Through that record I want to be able to view the computer assigned History- that means when it was assigned and when it was unassigned. And also the opposite way, through the user record to be able to see which devices were assigned or unassigned to the user.

Hello and thanks in advance.  I have form submissions coming into Airtable via a Zap from Gravity Forms.  The problematic field is Location which contains lat, lng, and address. I need lat and lng in separate fields in airtable.  This is an example of the imported data: {"location":{"lng":-122.38418565202375,"lat":47.653449368341484},"address":"Magnolia Connector Trail, Seattle, WA 98199, United States"}I need to wind up with 122.38418565202375 and 47.653449368341484 in separate fields. I've created 2 new columns in my table with the names lng and lat and installed the scripting extension. What do I do next?  Also I would like to process all the existing records at once and then process all new entries one by one manually when they come in.Thank you so much!

I have a base full of contractor information (Name, contact info, addresses, etc.) these fields are concatenated into one field.I sync this contractor info base across our project bases so that the information is readily available. When I select a contractor from a dropdown list on a project base I want it to use the corresponding concatenated contractor info field from the sync'd contractor information base into a 'contractor info' field on the project base so my users don't have to copy and paste the info in every time. I've been trying to use automation? Is this possible? What is the best way to achieve this? Shouldn't be too hard to select an option then autofill info based on that selection right? What am I missing? 

Hi! I am teaching myself through online videos, and I stumbled across one that showed me how to create a form and automate an alert in a Team Channel. I did that and it is working great. Next, I wanted to see if I could insert a link so anyone that sees that alert, can be taken directly into the table/grid. I found a video that shows me how to do a custom message, and I can get the name added, but when I add the Base URL, it will not work. At first, it was adding a long ugly code but now nothing. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, and appreciate any assistance. 

Hi all, I'm trying to set up an automation using a trigger using a linked record field. What I want is to trigger an email whenever a record has two or more linked records in a field (but not one). Is this possible to set up?For example, let's say the records are individual baseball players, and the field "Teams played for" links to a "teams" table. In Babe Ruth's record, the field would link to "Red Sox", "Yankees", and "Braves". In Mickey Mantle's record, the field would only link to "Yankees". In Jackie Robinson's record, the field would only link to "Dodgers". How can I set the trigger to email for Babe Ruth's record and not Mickey Mantle or Jackie Robinson?

I have a base that acts as a sales pipe line of sorts with each stage having its own table (Bid Board, Pre-Approval, Live, Shipping, and Completion). I have it set up through multiple If-status > Create record automations to move a job along the tables once it reaches a specific stage. This has been working great for me but there is one issue. If I notice there is a mistake or I need to update some information on an existing record (for example "client name") I would need to manually do it across each table.I tried to set up an automation using the following -Trigger - When Record is UpdatedActions - Find Records > Update RecordWith the intention of having it detect that a record was updated, and then reflect that update on the second table. I'm new to Airtable and looking to see if this will be a good platform to use.I created an Excel file that has a lot of information, so, based on the rows selected by a user, I want it to export out separate word documents based on those rows only and the word document would include the information from each column and that word document would be company branded. Hopefully, my question makes sense,Is that possible?

Hi there, I’m trying to set up an automation that sends an email every day at 12:15am notifying security about who wants to come onto site today, and if they are “not approved”. The email includes a grid of all records that match the conditions “date of entry is today” and approval status is “not approved” I would like to include that day’s date in the subject line and the body of the email. I’ve set up a formula field to give me today’s date, and another field to format how I want it to look in the email, purely for the purposes of this automation. My automation is set up as follows: Send email at 12:15am every day Find records where date of entry is today, and approval status is not approved Send email To insert today’s date into the email subject and body, I was inserting the field ‘todays date formatted’ from the find record step. But if I have say 3 records, it gives me the date 3 times. Is there any

Hello,I have a table. In the table there is a column named "Status" (single select field) with different selection possibilities. ("Property1", Property2",...).In the table is another date/time field.I want that when the status in "Property1" is changed, record the time of this change in the date field.How do I do this?Thanks!

I have a pretty basic automation that grabs a few records in a grid and sends them in an email. The issue is that it seems that in between finding the record and sending the email two different fields go blank. I've attached screenshot examples. The first is the result of "Find Records" and the second is the Grid emdedded in the email (with information censored). Note how in the second image, Product Type and 2024 Rate Availability are both empty. This is actually happening on two different automations that are set up to run on different cadences, but I haven't been able to find issue within the automations or within the records themselves.Can anyone help me troubleshoot this issue?
