Hi! Enjoying the automation features of Airtable. It would be great to be able to sort the records found via the “Find Records” automation before sending them to the next step. As of now, they are sorted by the time the records were created, which is logical but seldom what we’re looking for. Thanks!

My Customers book appointments through google calendars. When they book I want their info to be added as a new contact in my airtable base. The issue is that the info doesn't show up clear and their email, phone number, and name all show up as one massive gargle with page breaks and such. How can I tell airtable what info to pull for what column (name, email, phone number)? Also, Once this data get cleaned I want to set up an automation to add that contact to google contacts so that when someone calls their name shows up on my phone. Is there a way to link their airtable customer history to their google contact? 

Hello everyone,I have two tables. Table 1 contains campaigns and table 2 contains events. The events can then be linked to the campaigns with a linked data record. Now I would like a notification to be sent to the creator of the event if something changes in the campaign.I would also like to display both the campaigns from Table 1 and the events in a timeline overview. In AirTable, I have 3 Bases; ● One base that includes a table with all student records ● One base that includes testimonials ● One base that includes a record of all questions submitted when we do a Q&A How can we merge all these bases into one base and ensure that everything is linked?

Hi there.I am trying to create a voting system in airtable. Basically, I am hosting an awards show kind of thing (think oscars kinda structure) where people are nominated for awards, and judges vote on the nominees. There are 2 rounds: round 1, each judge in each award catagory individually rates each nominee by a set of 5 criteria; round 2, all the judges from every award get together and vote which of the top 3 from each award should win the award. I am currently finishing up round 1, and am running into a few issues. The issue that I would like to address here is about a "Power Point" or "Je Ne Sais Quoi" point that each judge is able to give 1 nominee per award (its basically there so that if a judge thinks one nominee deserves an extra point they can give it to them). The issue is that as my base is set up right now, a judge can add this Power Point to multiple nominees. Ideally I would like to make it so that if a judge decides to add the power point to anot

I'm trying to use this feature of passing the name of the user logged in to the record when a new record is created and it is just not working and for the life of me can not figure out why, clearly I'm missing something. 

How to create a checkbox inside a field Send Email. Need steps.

I have an automation set up that sends an email (through gmail) based off a row.I want to send this with an attachment where the attachment is the same for all users or it is provided as a lookup field based off a value.i.e Option 1: Send all users the same attachmentOption 2: Depending on the value of a field send one of 3 attachments However it seems that with the gmail automation we can only send attachments from an attachment field in the row. So I can't just choose the attachment or point it to a lookup field.Are there any workarounds for this? I've considered Zapier/SendGrid as alternatives but would prefer not to.

Hi allany ideas how to solve this problem?can this be doen with the automation or do i need someone to write me script?night shifts should be split per day, if the time span is over the midnight insert a new row with the working times (Hours) on the next day ... or something like that?  Thx!

I am working on two tables of independent data: Tables A and B. The common denominator for each table is that they have a date value that I and other team members need to track.I've been able to create an automation where every time a new value on Table A or B is created, a new record on Table C is also created -basically copied- with values from A or B that are relevant for all those accessing Table C.Where I'm getting stuck is when I update anything on Tables A and B, I'd also like to automatically update the data on Table C, specifically dates but every now and then other values. This would be a simple fix with link to record if I wasn't pulling data from two separate sources, and I can't seem to find how to set up the right automation I need. Having a strange issue where my automation script reports successful and appears correct, but doesn't actually do anything. I need to fill in the city and the person's name (approximately 15 dates per city and 30 names), but without manually filling in the data.I already have another table with all the dates and names per city in linked records, but couldn't find an easier way to organize and load this information into this new table.Any tips?Thanks!

Hello, does anyone know if it is possible within the use of Airtable with Zapier or even just Airtable to create an automation where the automation will search for a number of different pre-defined strings and count every record where it exists, then write to a table to record the count for various timeframes like day, week, month, year? If not exactly that, can be a more simplified version. As long as I can define certain strings I am searching for and have it count and record for a given time period - day, week, month, etc.Request Details contains large text and for any record , Request Details could contain one or more of the string matches I am looking for. Would it be better to create an automation which searches Request Details field for the string matches I am looking for then create a linked record for every string match before accomplishing the original ask?For example: I have a field called Request Details. I have created a form for team members to submit their "updates on contacts" in our Airtable Database. The field updating actually removes previous content from the field and then updates to the new field submission. What I would like to do is have the automation "add" the new submission to the content that is already in the field. How can I do that?For example, we have a Notes field with previous notes already entered. We would like to keep these old notes but add the new notes to the column when the team member submits the form.

Hi alli'm struggling with an automation and i have done my fare share of research before i decided to create this post. i have a table to track multiple account if the bank matches the books.  Here are my fields: Account, Date last matched, Status My goal is that when the date of the last matched is TODAY the status should be UP-TO-DATEIf the date of last matched is YESTERDAY the status should be UP TO YESTERDAYand so on, see attached screenshot.I have tried different automations but i couldn't find something that would work.Here are some of the stuff that i tried.

Hello, As the image uploaded in Airtable returns the URL of the image, I want to convert the contents of the URL(image) to base64, btoa() converts the URL to base64 but not the content of the URL (Actual Image), I want the uploaded Image in base64 format. Is there anyway to do this inside automation script? Thank you

Afternoon,I've had 2 ideas recently whilst building a lot of automations. Please do say if they already exist and I've missed them.When creating an, "Update record" action, please auto-fill the "Record ID" with Trigger item's record id if it's from the same table as you're updating.1. Every time I'm building an automation, if I'm updating a record on the same table as the trigger, the Record ID, is the trigger item's Record ID. Could AT autofill that Record ID token? Or maybe, a quick function link underneath the input box, "Use trigger record's Record ID" which fills the box when pressed.2. How to add SMTP inside AirTable as there is a checkbox Send Email?

I’m currently working on a fairly large base and I was wondering if there is any way I can link it to Tableau, reason being I would like to visualise the data while I’m cleaning/enhancing it. I know I can download a csv - but I’m wondering if there is any way I can link directly or automate this so when I add a new record or alter data I can see the impact in Tableau.

Hey, we are currently experiencing the issue that a automation changed the way it works. The Find Records Automation used to just fail if it searched for a empty field now it gives us back the maximum Amount of Records it can find(100).These are also not empty in the field that is searched for. Is this a intentional change or just a bug?

English is not my native language.I created an external form with Fillout, which is connected to my AirTable base.When I use the block ‘multiple choice questions’ in Fillout, I have 2 options I am aware of :-Connect it to a ‘single-line text’ field-Connect it to a ‘single-select’ field The first option works great, however the second one, which is the one I’d like to use to get the advantage of the colors, brings up the following problem :Whenever somebody fills out the ‘other’ option in the Fillout Form, it creates a new single-select option in my table, which is great, BUT, at the same time, the form is automatically updated and the new option is now available to new users looking at the Form, which in the end can be a problem if people write a lot of nonsense.On the

Hi all!Please tell me, is it possible to change the rights in the interface on a specific entry after the automation has been triggered?I want to do the following:1) I have a Kanban board - an interface in which, when opening one of the records, you can change the status, date, etc.Is it possible to prohibit changing the status or date of this record when a certain status is reached (for example, done) without restricting others?2) I would like certain fields in posts to be edited only by the record author (the record author creates the post via a form)?Thank you in advance and wish you a good productive week!
