Hello I need to collect answers from my clients, to 20 different questions each month. I then put a photo beside the clients answer and have Zapier send the photo and the corresponding answer, to the Instagram of the client, through Buffer. I’m assuming I will need a seperate table for each client and that it will look like this: CLIENT TABLE 1 |Q1|Response|Image|Date| |Q2|Response|Image|Date| |Q3|Response|Image|Date| My Airtable Form responses end up in a table like this though… Client 1 | Q1 Response | Q2 Response | Q3 Response etc Client 2 | Q1 Response | Q2 Response | Q3 Response etc Client 3 | Q1 Response | Q2 Response | Q3 Response etc Which is not really helpful for me, since I need to add the image etc… How can I rotate that data? Or is there a completely different way to do this that I’m missing! Thanks!
Is there a way to set up a single view of all my tasks that exist in multiple bases into a unified view so that I don’t have to open each base separately? I would like to be able to work within this unified view to have complete control of over what should get done first, second, etc. Once I do complete a task, then have it marked as complete in its’ source base.
Hello Airtablers, I had an idea in mind for a while now. I would like to create a “hub”, a repository of science-backed studies on a specific topic. If you’re familiar with this website, examine.com does exactly what I intend to do on a broader scale. While examine is not specific to one “niche” but rather gathered studies on specific supplements, I intend to do the same for diabetes and everything related to insulin resistance. Ideally, the project would contain a Home page with a search bar and illustrations all around, with part of the Homepage linking directly to subcategories like: studies repository for the tag « Cinnamon » studies repository for the tag « Metformin » studies repository for the tag « chromium » etc. I imagine I’ll have to create a database regrouping every study about the subject; Ideally, I’d crawl/scrape the URLs of the major databases publishing studies: Pubmed, ScienceDirect, Google scholar/NCBI, and the likes. I’m also looking for guidance regarding the best
Hello When building a simple base of entities (Let’s say Peter, Paul & Jack), i add a column to indicate there’s a link between two (or more) of them. Doing this, i use a Link to another Record in the same base. So when i’m linking Paul to Peter, i see Peter in the “link” column of Paul. But no link appears with Paul appearing in the Peter entry. Is there a way to link two entries in a simple bidirectional way ? It sounds so pretty simple, i can’t believe i have to do it twice for each link between entries. Or should i use a graph tool instead of Airtable maybe for this kind of analysis ? Regards, A
Hi all, Here’s where I’m trying to get: A business contacts CRM that is both a DB of all contacts, contact-specific files & links, and also has multiple “pipelines” for each contact. The core consideration is this: Contacts can originate from multiple sources: Instagram, Twitter, IRL, etc which will determine which FIRST unique identifier I acquire. Sometimes it will be insta’ handle, sometimes a name, sometimes an email. Then as said, I will have different pipelines (journeys/kanbans) for different products, etc. I need a way to link to a record (a unique identifier) without knowing WHICH identifier I’m going to get first. Does it make sense to create unique internal IDs that become my “common language” across all tables? I was init trying to create a sheet for each social platform, and then wanted any new entry on that table to auto-populate into the master contacts table where additional info can be entered as know. This was just for cleanliness and not having to side scroll TOO
Hi there! In the last 12 hours, the linked records in my base have suddenly and mysteriously changed! Please help! I run a diaper bank. We use AT to track requests for diapers by size. A text field tells us what size of diaper is being requested, and then, using a linked record field, we manually link it to another table that contains diaper sizes (diaper come in sizes Newborn, 1-7, and pullups). The text and links are easy to match. As of 12 hours ago, it looked like this: (*Note: in the image above, the record created on 9/3/2020 7:25am is wrong (5 and 7). I’m not sure if that was human error, or the beginning of my problems with AT linked records. Keep reading for the main problem.) However, this morning, the links for diaper sizes 5 and 6 went haywire. 5 turned into 6s, and 6s turned into pullups (which in the table we linked to, are called “T(Large)”. It now looks like this: As you can see, some of the 5s turned into 6s, and some of the 6s turned into T(Large) pullups. Can anyon
Hi everyone!, first question here. I have been checking this community frecuently and found lots of solutions to problems I have been encountering. My problem Its quite simple, I guess I am missing something obvious otherwise it would be a big limitation which would already be addressed… The situation: I have a base with many products, each product is linked to some clients. Example Product 1: Client A, B and C Product 2: Client B Pruduct 3: Client A and D Like this I have at the moment 200 products, but soon this will grow quite a lot. The problem is that when I have a new client, lets call it “Client E” and I want to link it with 50 records, I have to write his name in each record, I cannot just click on the small square and drag it all the way around. If I do so, it will just copy the value of the inital record (with all the initial linked values) in all the ones that have been draged. At the moment I am doing it manually, but I guess it shuold be possible t
I have a table structured liked this: The second column returns the “Click” count for some job postings. Knowing their record IDs (returned in the “lookup” column) how can I somehow mark the first two corresponding records in the other table without using Scripting or Zapier/Integromat?
Continuing the discussion from Auto removing a linked record when the record is removed from a view in the linked table?: We’ve tried the above solution in an automation - it’s resulting in an error. The error is received invalid inputs. Any ideas how we can remove linked records from our table using an automation? Thanks
Hi guys, I’m current tranform sheet to airtable. I wanna to use it as database tracking daily. But seem a little bit misunderstanding in building 1 base in my case In my case, Each product has ~ 1000 keywords research with some fields: {Avg search volume}, {Ranking}, {Cost} … each values changing every single day. I dont wanna dedupe 1000 keywords each day from importing Csv file. i just wanna tracking those 1000 keywords within those 1000 records
I have not started anything, I got an invite from a friend & I signed up, but when I open my account, it has my friends base (shared with me) and I have no place to start a new base from scratch. have looked all over, but can’t even get started, thanks for any help.
Thanks in advance for your help with this! I’ve searched through forums, watched YouTube videos and tried a number of example bases but still haven’t found the answer. I’ve set up an Airtable for my friend’s equestrian facility. It has the following tables: Master Schedule Riders Horses Trainers Wranglers We use the Master Schedule most often. Currently every new record concatenates rider name (pulled in from Riders) and date/time and then pulls in Horse, Trainer and Wrangler. This is fine entering each rider lesson manually, as it beats what my friend used to do, which is write down 60 items on a white board every day and then keep notes in pencil and paper in a massive binder to track lessons. But since there are about 60 lessons a day (each record is rider + date/time + horse + trainer + wrangler and most are in group lessons), we were wondering if we could set it up so that riders automatically appeared in the Master Schedule weekly, since most riders do the same lesson the same
Newbie here … I have a database that is relatively simple construction. I have list of names, ph numbers, addresses, and a few other fields. This list is used by a truck driver to pickup up donated items. Once they go do certain actions they need to record their time. I am looking to see how I can format the field to record the current time and lock it in. Any suggestions … open to whatever … Thanks in advance. Darlene
Hi - I came across a thread from a few years ago regarding Employee Onboarding and figured there may be new and improved ways to do this. I have many new employees starting, of slightly different types for the same team (for example, Project Manager, Product Designer, and Manager). Each of them have most of the same onboarding tasks, but there are several unique tasks that are specific to the role. I want to enable a central list of all onboarding tasks which are relevant to each position type. Some tasks would apply to all three types of roles, some to two, and some to only one of the types of roles. Then, when a new employee joins, I would select the role (position) of the employee on the team, and it would automatically show them all of the onboarding tasks that are associated to them. And they would be able to update each of those tasks’ statuses, specific to that particular employee. And it’s THAT point which I can’t figure out… is this possible to allow for per-user task status u
Hi I have a field “employee” where I have enabled multiple records. I have made a form where it now is possible to add more than one employee. Is it possible to change the behavior, so that instead of creating a single record with lets say three employees in “employee”, three identical records with different employees is created ?
Having a lot of fun setting up my table, but in setting it up I’ve needed to spread out info over several sets of linked cells (in order to help with what is essentially inventory). So on my main inventory page, for one item I have several columns that each essentially point to different projects the items are used in. I would like to have all of that combined in one cell, but of course the concatenate feature removes those links. Is there a way to concatenate the linked cells in such a way to keep them as expandable links?
We are using Airtable to track electrical construction projects (PROJECTS table), project clients and vendors (COMPANIES table), who worked on the project (PEOPLE table) and project photos (PHOTOS table). I have a junction table (PROJECT TICKETS) between PEOPLE and PROJECTS because this is many-to-many. PROJECT TICKETS also houses what the persons position was on the project, since this may change from project to project. The PEOPLE table also connects directly to the COMPANIES table since each person can only work for one company at a time. COMPANIES also links directly to PROJECT. The PROJECT table has separate fields for Client, Owner, General Contractor, Architect, Engineering Firm, each of which only hold one link to a record in the COMPANIES table. (Sorry for the long wind-up.) Here’s my questions: Should I be using a junction table to connect PROJECTS with COMPANIES and store the label of Client, Owner, General Contractor, Architect, Engineering Firm as a single select field ty
So I have a form for employees to fill out when they want to talk on a subject in a meeting Topic (single line text) Meeting Type (dropdown) Date (calendar) Their Name (dropdown) When it is filled out, it then creates separate meetings for each entry, which I DON’T want it to do! I Do want the entered TOPICs, from each form, to be listed in the field associated with that meeting, when the same meeting type and same meeting date are met. This is all within the same Table. What can I do for this? Do I need to use a separate Table and then link them in somehow? Or can it all be done on the same Table? I have stumped myself.
Is it possible to automatically link records that. match a condition? For example: i have a directory table in a base of all. the company employees and one of the fields is “team” and each employee has what. team he or she. belongs to. In. another table on the same base I have the things we need to buy, and those depend of the team you belong to. Is it possible to show in this second table all the people that. belong to a certain team from the directory table? Thanks!
Greetings, I’m fairly new to Airtable and not skilled in databases either. Also, I’ve looked thru the support forums for direction but all the relevant posts seem complicated/overkill. Hoping there’s a straightforward solution to what feels like a simple problem… We’ve got several Bases, for different purposes, but they all rely on the same data/list in one way or another. We’re trying to put this “universal” data in a separate Base, then link/import it to all the other Bases. Specifically, we’re a podcast network with a list of different shows we produce. The Show List is the “universal” data, needed in other bases for recruiting (which show is this role for?), interview questions (again, which show do these questions pertain to?), Advertisers (which shows are they advertising on?)…a dozen tables, all needing the Show List in some way. Currently we add a Table in each Base and paste the list of shows. But, each time we change the Show List, we have to update all the tables, which, of
I have parents registering their kids for my etiquette classes using a form. I need the student name to be the main field (column 1) along with some demographic info about the student. I also need to collect the parents’ name and contact info. The tricky part comes when one parent is registering multiple kids. Is there anyway for the parent to only have to input their name and contact info ONCE, but then be able to add multiple kids and the unique demographic info associated with each kid. Maybe it’s possible with Sync? or Link to another record? or Lookup? For confidentiality, I don’t really want parents to have to scroll through a list of other student/parent names if possible. Thank you!
Not that it doesn’t work but it’s kind of a limited solution seems to me… that file stack or file stacker i don’t remember. It’s showing as service connecting to my Dropbox google drive etc and airtable and It’s for attaching pics or files directly to airtable. Yeh, it works but here are two issues I have : Dropbox doesn’t work for any other folder than the public folder. I sent support request so I’ll update here once I see what they say. Google drive and others is ok. I know the topic of downloading attachments has been beaten to ground here already so I’m not going to repeat. But this is now related to that integration to google drive and Dropbox etc. It is only works one way - uploading attachments to Airtable from Dropbox etc… If downloading multiple attachments to the mobile device doesn’t work - I guess it not even possible, but uploading them to Dropbox or google drive etc would be just the solution to fix the problem. Perhaps (and I hope) Airtabke is working on adding
Hi, I would like to be able to have a field that is either my SKU number, PO number, Sales order number that escalates as entries increase. In Excel I’d just pull down the cell and it would sequence as I go along. I can do that it seems only with a number field. But the number field doesn’t allow me to start with 00001, 00002. I’d have to change to a txt field but then it seems Airtable only wants to copy the cells over and over, not sequence them. Is there a work around either as a number field or a text field to get what I want?
I have built and re-built this inventory base so many times and I’m beyond frustrated. I know there is a simple solution to this. Here is what I have Materials Dry Materials Liquid Materials Locations Warehouse A Warehouse B Warehouse C Trucks Truck A Truck B Truck C Events Pre-Orders Re-Stocking Orders Deliveries Daily Used (we spread & spray these materials as a service) Swaps (We need to swap material from truck to truck at times) Returns (Sometimes we need to return materials to the warehouse from the truck) Adjustments (Sometimes a few bags may be miscounted and we will need to make adjustments) Employees We need to keep track of how much was used each day by each truck/employee. Sometimes an employee will use a different truck. Trucks, Employees, Materials, Locations are all synced tables from other bases and that is important. I’ve been using Google Datastudio for many other reports. I’d like to report on the status of how much inventory is in what truck and or what locat
Looking for some help. We work with employers to provide company cars as an employee benefit. For each employer there are multiple employees For each employee there can be multiple cars For each car we charge a series of monthly payments I’m trying to setup AirTable so that when I select an employer and month, I can output an invoice with the relevant monthly payments. I’ve done the first steps: Set up an employers table that links multiple employees per employer Set up an employees table that links multiple cars per employee Set up a monthly payments table that links cars to a series of payments by month I’m struggling with the final step where I want to set the employer and month and output the total payments, so that I can create an invoice. Any advice would be appreciated.
