Base Design

Hi all, I currently struggle with how I should manage all team members. I would like to have them in a table called "People" (Person Name is just a single text field), with Birthdays, Joning Dates, Headshot image, title, which domain they belong to etc. Then other tables like tasks will have an assignee who is linked to the peoples table. So far so good. This would allow me to have nice overviews within Interfaces like in this template:No I noticed during Form creation for Tasks that I can't have a default value "current user", nor that automatic notifications are possible if someone got added to a field. Is there a way to solve this and bring this together?Like if I select a "User" in a task that they will get notifications and that the task will be then also linked in the "People"

I'm working on tracking progress for multiple offices and their checklists. Currently, I have two tables - 1 with the Checklist and 2 with the Progress Report. The Progress Report is setup where the first column is the office name and the linked record field/column needs to select multiple records. There are 22 offices with around 25+ checklist items. It has been super tedious going through each line and added the linked records one by one. Is there any way to select multiple records at once to add it to the linked record field?

Hi, just trying to get some advise on how to start creating an inventory managements base on airtable. We provide kits with have their own unique indentfying number - and each kit contains devices which we record the serial numbers of - they belong to each individual kit. Is there a way to build this out so that the Kit ID "contains" the unique devices? But still make them moveable and flexible ? We also will need to track stock that has not yet been built into a kit - but all with have unique serial numbers. Many thanks for any insights! 

I'm a new enough user that I don't really know if this is a Base Design, Automation, Sync, or Formula question - apologies.I use Airtable to manage a golf travel business and I have one Base that is a client list with 2 Tables (Names and Past Trips). The Names table has 20+ fields/columns. I also have lots of additional Bases that I use to manage the individual golf trips.I would really like to pull in information from the Client List Base to each of the Trip Bases. For example: I have a Roster table in each Trip Base where I list all of the travelers in the first column but I would also like Airtable to automatically pull in each client's Email, Phone Number, and Handicap Index from the Client List base (since they are all tracked in Fields in that Base).Is this possible with the free version of Airtable? And if not, is it even possible with one of the paid versions?Thanks very much for any suggestions.

Hey everyone,Really excited about the new dynamic filtering feature that was just released. I’m trying to implement it on one of my bases but I’ve hit a bit of a snag trying to make it work in my use case.Here’s the deal: I’m with a company that handles housing for employees on a certain project. The employees work in rotations, being on the project for three months and then off for a month, before coming back again. To keep track of apartments and maintenance, we have check-in and check-out forms. The catch is not everyone fills them out because there are just so many of them, and it’s tough to keep track.Right now, when filling out the forms, employees pick their name (which links to our Employee table) and their apartment (linked to an Apartment table). After they check in, their name gets linked to that apartment, and it gets unlinked when they check out. (This gives us a clear view of who's in which apartment at any point in time)What I want to do so

This is a basic hack to sort a simple list of pre-determined roll-up values (e.g. 12 months) without a script or 3rd party automation.In the example below, month values from the Sub-items table are rolled up in Items table / Unsorted column.  Columns 'M1', 'M2', 'M3' use a REGEX_MATCH formula to check 'Unsorted' for the corresponding values.  The column 'Sorted' uses a series of IF statements to to join these together in the right order.  

Hey amazing people 🙂 I have a rollup field puling in unique values, and I really would like it sorted (in this case by ascending date) but I can't figure out how to do that? Community Search didn't bring much up for me.Here are my settings:And here is my display result I would like to see "March 3rd, 2023" March 4th, 2023" "March 5th, 2023"It seems to pull in based on the order of my current Top view in the Table it is pulling from, but even swapping the View with the sort order I want didn't seem to change anything (And I don't want that view at the top anyway)Any ideas?

Hi,  I'd like to create a "Business Health Check" Dashboard, and I'm thinking Airtable might be a good way to do it,  but as a new user I'm not sure how to start. Basics:1. Dashboard view:   Show changes to each category over the past few months (line charts most likely)2. Form:    Owner would fill this out weekly with data for that week3. Data/Questions (this is where I'm not sure how to lay the data out for the questions, or to record it in a way that the charts could use it).  Question examples    - Time Period (Date 1 to Date 7 - usually a week - ie Mon-Sun)    - Booked for how many days out (likely do this as a number field:  1,2,3,4 .....     - How many new inquiries did you get from x source this week?  Number field    - How do you feel about business this week?  - Drop down selector - Not Good, Good, Indi

1. The Date Time Button in the filter when we select a date the data is not the same in the table where it is linked? When we select the past month, the value of the data is not match in the table when we filter it2. Can we do math operations in a table that is not in the same row but in different row?

Hi,I have a table named "Customer" whose field is "Address"I also have a table named "Invoice" where the associated fields are "Target Customer" where it is linked to "Customer" table and it can linked to many customers; and "Latest Address" which is a roll up field.In my case, i only want to retrieve the last address of the last linked customer. So if i have ["Customer1","Customer2"] in "Target Customer", the "Latest Address" must be Customer2's address only.How can i achieve this?Note: Customer1 and Customer2 are not related to any created time or updated time or any min max value. The sequence is totally random. Thank you

I have a base that is mostly photos, with reference numbers on each one. Because the photos are the "main event", I am trying to use gallery view to print and/or save as PDF.However, I find that cards often break across pages, and sometimes leave the photos invisible. See example, attached.Is there a way to make gallery view print so that cards do not break across 2 pages? I am looking to set up a base to manage client onboarding and success.I'm fairly experienced with Airtable and I've built project management bases in the past with linked records and lookups but what I want to build this time has some unusual features and I'm scratching my head how I accomplish this. The use case is something like this:Each new client we bring on goes through an identical series of steps/tasksThese series of steps/tasks can be broken into "modules" such as 1) onboarding, 2) mid year review, and 3) year end review. Each new client added to the base can be enrolled into a module and have a set of records created for their instances of the corresponding tasks. The tasks will be have statuses To Do, In Progress, Done. These roll up into the module. Hey guys, Really new to Airtable and not an excel expert either. I have been trying to create a Master Catalog / Master SKU table which contains fields like SKU variations, Amazon ASIN, Category, sub-categories, landed costs etc. I have also assigned a Master SKU code as the Primary and this may overlap for some SKU variations. I want to create another table where I can import the Sales data in excel format, which carries the Amazon ASINs (not all of them populated in the Master SKU) and Units Sold. The excel may also contain other data that is not relevant to this exercise. Similarly, I would like to create more tables to upload sales data from other marketplaces (each has their unique marketplace product ids) as well. How do i get Airtable to recognise these ASINs (or other unique marketplace ids) & match them with the Master so that I can link the records ? Or do i have to key in each line of Sales Data as a New record in a New table a

I developed a table that looks up records from other tables in a base. My colleagues all say that they have never touched this table, yet revision history of multiple records in the Linked column say that they were "edited by pasting." I have searched AirTable FAQ and can't find that phrase anywhere. Has anyone else seen that with Linked & Lookup fields? Perhaps my colleagues just don't remember that they did this? When I add a new record and see it show up in the Linked table, it just shows that I edited it, not "by pasting."

I have a table that was transferred to me over a year ago and now I am the owner. I recently upgraded to the Team plan. I can input data into the template but now matter how I change my field permissions, when I try to delete a row is says: "this table is configured so nobody can delete records". How do I change this? If I am the owner shouldn't I be able to change this. Thank you for your help!

The community's help is really needed. I need to figure out access to certain rows in the database.Scenario: Each row of the table has a "USER" field. In it I select users who have access to the table (screenshot #1). I want to make it so that "USER" see only those rows in which they are selected and can edit these rows. All other rows where they are not selected in the "USER" column, they either cannot edit or cannot see (it’s better if they don’t see it, but it’s not critical).  

I currently have a formula running for # of weeks someone has been enrolled in the program.  Is there a way to have a Kanban view with 52 columns (1 for each week of the year) and have the clients auto populate in those columns based on # of weeks enrolled?

Hello,I am building a Scheduling tool for my company and a feature we do for our clients is "Scheduling Optimization", where we map out their schedules and look for ways to cut down on headcount, merge shifts, etc.I was hoping to use the Timeline View to display the schedules with both date and time taken into consideration, but despite the "Day" view having an hourly breakdown, it still displays each shift as an "All Day" event: I am aware that the Calendar View does this properly, but the problem is the orientation; I'm often working with events that are 100+ staff per day, so the Calendar View is somewhat unusable:The Daily Calendar view is a little better, but I need to see these records from a weekly view in order to properly assess possibl

hi there!A newcomer to Airtable and really excited to explore and see how I can build a robust system for my use cases. I manage a construction company and am trying to build a robust PM interface to handle the various activities that happen during pre-construction, in-construction and post-construction. There's a lot there but one important aspect is the idea of automating a status report to share with the top management.Currently I build this manually in email and share with the team. This includes a genera summary of activities during the week, any red items (tasks that have been delayed) and then a list of open items and their last activity.Assuming all these items are logged in a table with their activity logs in comments (unless there's a better way), is there some way to automate this report to be generated and emailed end of each week?Thanks very much for your help and advice!

Hello guys,our client has this issue from a couple of days. He has (a lot, I know) of unread notifications but whenever he tries to click on the notifications' button he keeps getting en error which I've attached below.We've already tried to delete cache and cookies, nothing happened. Tried on a different pc, same error.Anybody can help us?Thanks

I have 2 different bases, extensions and 10 day. I want in the 10 day base to have a field that can check and see if that record also exsists in the extensions base. If it does it says exsists or doesn’t exsist. ‘is this at all possible?is there an easier way to achieve this?

Hi, I created a form in airtable so people could populate their information directly for me into my grid view. However when I sent the form, people had to ask for access - which access do I grant them? And they were asked to create an account - I did not select ' see who submitted a response to the form' at the bottom so not sure why this has happened. I have made everyone an editor but am now being told that I have too many editors for the free plan. Have been looking around but there seems to be no simple answer to this? Thanks, Lucy

When I remove all filters and show all fields, the "Download CSV" option is not available when I open options by clicking the view carrot. What am I doing wrong? - Thanks in advance.
