I have a fairly niche-type issue that I've not been able to figure out; for context, I've created a check in base optimized for a team of supervisors to check in/out staff using the Airtable mobile app. I have 2 tables linked together, where one represents 1 record for every shift (named "All Shifts"), which is linked to a table (named "BA Data") that houses the staff info of whoever is scheduled for a shift. I would like for my Supervisors to be able to open the linked record (aka "BA Data") while looking at the "All Shifts" table and be able to modify a "Current Location" field and a "Lead Notes" field (both are housed in the "BA Data" table). The navigation to do so seems to work just fine, but when a user opens the linked record from the mobile app, it appears that the Sort is defaulted to newest to oldest fields, in the order they've been modified; I know this because when I converted the oldest field to "Current Location" in order to bump it up to the top, the oldest fi

I have a payroll base that tracks timesheets and commissionable transactions for our employees. It includes the following linked tables:EmployeesTimesheetsThe Employees table includes information for name, address, email, etc. Additionally, there is a Straight Time (ST) Hourly Rate field. We have thousands of records in the Timesheets table from daily entries submitted by employees. To calculate ST Gross Pay, a lookup field displays the ST Hourly Rate from the Employees table. For my small business, I have three levels of information I'm trying to manage. I have (a) the human client, (b) their pet, and (c) the services that they want for their pet. Each human can have multiple pets, and each pet can have multiple services. The projects themselves occur at the pet level, since one human might come back multiple times with different pets, and all the services for a pet occur at once. A pet will not come back for more services again in the future, so it makes sense that we could consider "pet" to be the main unit of analysis (sorry, I'm a social scientist by training, forgive my lingo). Hi everyone, a coworker and I are designing a new AT system to help our communications team manage content production, marketing campaigns, and individual tasks related to both content and campaigns. To solve for multiple needs and use cases, we're thinking of creating a standalone base for each one of those buckets (content, campaigns, tasks) and using two-way syncing to make sure they're all talking to each other. The issue: When our team leaders create a new campaign in base 1, they also want to create new pieces of content (stored in base 2) and assign that content to team members as part of that new campaign. They want to be able to fill all that information out in the same place. Is it possible to design an interface form (or just a form in the data layer) in base 1 that could be used to fill out both campaign info housed in base 1 *and* content info housed in base 2? And if so, could someone show me how? Thanks in advance for any help!

Very new user here.I have a simple base with one table and one form.  It is designed to add new people to a mailing list.  I created a form to add new records, and that seems to work fine.  Now I need to create a navigation.  I would like to see a sidebar which includes 2 items, the table and the form.  Is it possible to have the table and the form in the same sidebar?  I don't really need to see the buttons at the top (data, automations, interfaces).How can I add the 2 items to the sidebar, then reliably cause it to appear?  While playing with this, I saw a sidebar, but once I left it, I can't figure out how to bring it back.  Can anyone help?  Thanks...

Just have been pushing it further wiht scripts, automations, and integrations. Many springs ago (25) I used to be a developer and the database thinking runs still through my blood. So when I make an base with some use case in mind (probably not wherefore Airtable is intended for) I think of tables that have the flexibility of SQL. Imagine thisBase to keep scores me playing boardgames with friends (because we're nerds and we wnat to know who is the ultimate better player over the years etc.) ps. I have a screenshot above where the linked record displays Tags and Employee ONLY. I discovered that they normally pull the displayed fields from the primary view of the table. However, I already checked my Tasks table but I really cant find the view where this is being pulled from. It's not accurate at all. Can someone please help?

Hi,Every time I try to convert the multiple select field (automatic field from import) to Date (with time included), I get this message that some cell data may be cleared. And indeed, most of the cell data were cleared. I don't understand this as my data is clean it is a standard 03/05/2023 7:00:00, 10/05/2023 7:00:00, 17/05/2023 7:00:00, etc As you can see, the three rows show up blank after I try to convert to Date (with time) field.This is the original data after importing from Excel sheet. Would appreciate any advise on how I could convert all data successfully. Hi I am combining 2 fields (quantity and materials description) using the formula function (screenshot 1). I am then using the lookup field to display in one cell all the materials and quantities for one job in that one cell (screenshot 2). So far so good. I would like to be able to do a nice print out for the workshop staff but in order for it to look less cluttered, is there any way I could program it to display each (material & qty) to be displayed on a new line (new paragraph) within one cell? e.g. rather than 2 x 22mm MDF, 4 x 18 mm Birch plywood, 6 x inset hinges I would prefer it to look like this: 2 x 22mm MDF, 4 x 18 mm Birch plywood, 6 x inset hinges Any ideas gratefully received!

Is it possible when selecting "Link to another record" to be able to connect to multiple tables? I can only see the option to link to one table (multiple records, yes, but multiple tables, no)? Or any workarounds for this?I'm building out a content model and for some of the content types, the source content fields can come from multiple other locations, so I need to be able to reference this in my data model. Thanks!

Representatives'Representative' on table A (Meetings) is a 'Link to another record' leading to the items on table B (Representatives).I have a need to filter the Representatives table so that it'll show stats for a given period only, for example - show only the stats for these periods:The closest I got was filtering each calculation field separately:  But this is not good enough as1. It needs to be applied to each calculation field manually2. The filter cannot be saved to a viewI have also tried filtering the linked record column by using the 'Limit record selection to a view' option, but this doesn't really limit the record selection as expected - a known issue.What can be done to achieve a periodical filter for the Representatives table?

I usually use linked record for choice option instead of single select, just in case of use with other tables. As my records keep growing, I am worried about the record limit.Does number of choice in single select also count as record limit per table?

Hi there! I'm trying to design a base with a public facing form for camp registrations. I was planning to use multiple select as the camp selections field, so folks can sign up for Camp A, Camp C, and Camp D all through one form. Where I'm running into issues is designing an automation that disables selections when they reach a total. For ex. only 12 people can register for Camp A, so when 12 form submissions come in with that selected, it needs to be removed from the list of options. In a different setup, I've used lookups, views, and table links to create this utility, but that was date/time based, so I could use it as the primary field. I can't use multiple select as a primary though, so I'm a bit stuck.

Hello everyone. I have a link field with a one-to-many relationship. The linked records have over 100 fields. I need to customize the 3 visible fields in the preview Lightshot Screenshot Captured with Lightshot in order to make it usable. By customize, I mean that I want to be able to select which fields to display in the card preview Is this possible at all? If not, this would be a very important new product feature as otherwise, the power of linking records is very much diminished. Thanks for your help!

Hi, My team have being using the Airtable and the Kanban view for almost two years now. We have for a while lacked/cant set up a link between two tickets on the board. Just a simple link, so we don't forget an input or task.Is this possible? and how would i set this up?thanks! BestM 

I am creating a form for our website that I will need external users to fill out. I want to minimize user input error so I have created a table with state names/abbreviations to link to the form. When they start to fill out the state it populates options they can pick, but is there a way to make this look better by eliminaing showing where the data is going (it shows 'Leads' the table where it is going and I don't want customers to see that). Or is there a way to easily upload the state abbreviations that I have in the table without manually entering them all as a single select drop down option?Last question, I love the look of the interface form but from what I can tell this is not something you can share with outside airtable users via our website? Other than having them creative an airtable login, is this correct?

I have failed at several attempts to create a Standard Operating Procedure(SOP) in Airtable. I am looking to have Various Processes that an employee can choose from to create a series of tasks to complete based on that chosen SOP. I have searched in the templates and it doesn’t look like this has been done before. Any ideas how I could structure this? I would also like the ability to add and alter SOPs once they are created. I envision a main table with each employee and a list of the SOP’s they are in the process of and the tasks they need to do.
