Hello, I'm brand new here. Air Table was suggested as a good option for what I need to do, but I need some guidance. (I can do basic things on google sheets or excel.)We're creating a church directory. We've gathered info from families, and someone typed them up in a doc... (Kicking myself for not having made a digital form to begin with!)What I will need to end up with is a database of families with adults and children, mailing address, phone and email (sometimes both for 2 adults), and birthdays and anniversaries. Also, a place to check if they will have a photo in the book, and a place to check that we've verified their info to be correct before including it in the directory. I will need to output 3 different things:The names of the family members to go under their photo. (Family name and individuals with adults named first)The directory contact info listing (Family Name, individuals, contact info)A calendar list of birthdays and anniversaries by monthSide note: We do have some
I need to track what resources are needed for each area of a project. They are similar - ex. XXX at Y quantity or ZZZ cut to A' by B". I need to link the resources needed with each project area. Any ideas on how best to set this up? THANK YOU!
I am a project manager for a consulting company. We have a bank of questions we ask during our client interviews. I'd like to be able to create a process where our consultants can select specific questions from the master list based on the role of the person being interviewed and then be able to enter the specific answers to those questions for that interviewee. So, Consultant selects a subset of Interview Questions and enters the responses to those selected questions on the Interviewee record. Is there a way to do this in single base?
Hi,i have a database and with group and filter actions I came up with a list of items to print. How could I reach the goal of having the count of the items instead the count of the lines?Tnx in advice
I have a huge database of contacts. I would like to group and categorize these into households/families.My initial thoughts were to group by last name. However many contacts share the same last name yet aren't in the same household. Similarly, some households have different last names.I've currently got a separate "single select" field called "household/family". THis does a good job at seperating the records; I'm not able to count how many options are being used though. Is there a better way to do this?Much appreciated on any ideas! Thaaanks
Hi guys. I made a connection with Make, so I can transfer every incoming email from certain accounts to a new data row in Airtable. The problems are the attachments. I am showing you in the pictures below how I would like them to appear and how they actually appears. We need every attachment to be shown in a preview as a separate file.. The Make-support thinks it is Airtable-problem, so I am grateful for any suggestion.Regards, Imelda
Hi I am a newbie to Airtable so please bear with me.I have been using JotForm to collect timesheet data from employeesand one field contains team members i.e. could be more than one team member in a single field and appear to be space separated in Airtable - in the JotForm itself this is a multiple select for each team member present that dayHow can I view/split this to make individual timesheets for each member listed in that cell i.e. duplicate the view for each one of those team members please? This would then enable me to share each team members timesheet with them individually? The team member field looks like this:ThanksKalpesh
Forgive my ignorance! I have a column called Tickets. I ultimately want this column to tell me how many tickets to each event AND separately, the number of tickets for the attendee for each event. At the bottom of the table, I want a total number of tickets to a venue, despite there be multiple events at the venue.Do I have to create multiple columns to get this?
I have been tasked with developing a system for individuals to evaluate (with a rubric) a series of proposals related to a strategic plan coming in.Individuals are submitting ideas using a Form that feeds into an AirTable Base (Base 1). We are doing this because we also want to visualize the ideas. The idea is that once individuals submit their ideas, a group of people will be able to evaluate them using a scored rubric (Base 2). Initially, I figured I would create another Base and then Sync the Two Bases (One Way) While also adding a form that would input the scores into the New Base (Base 2). I would link them based on either the AirTable ID or the Title of the Proposal. I was then going to create a third base (Base 3) that scores and averages the results of the evaluation. The challenge I am running into is that MULTIPLE people will complete the evaluation – up to 15. I am trying to think of a way to use AirTable for the scoring phase, but there need to be MULTIPLE people evaluating i
HiWe have an Email Tracker table in our base with a lot of data rows, so I want to move that table to it's own base to avoid maxing out our limits too quickly. The Email Tracker table is fairly independent, with the exception of 2 data columns:1 linked records field (linking to the Campaigns table)1 look up field that is pulling in the "campaign owner" from that same Campaigns tableI'm not sure how to best maintain the 22,000 rows of data already linking to the Campaigns table in our primary base. The Email Tracker base will have a Campaigns table that is synced to the original one in our primary base. However, I'm not sure how to get the linked records fields that are currently looking to the primary Campaigns table to now look at the synced version of that campaigns table that I created in the new base, short of manually updating all 22,000 rows!I did a test, pulling in all the information of the Email Tracker. The linked Campaigns field and Campaign Owner field retained their data, bu
I'm using a Google Drive Sync integration with the intention of avoiding going over the storage limit in my base. On the FAQ's for this integration I found this information:Will the attachments in a synced table count toward the destination base’s attachment limits?Yes. Similar to record limits, attachments in a synced table will count against the attachment limit in that synced table's base.If I were to simply not sync the attachments field, will that avoid taking up storage space in my base? With this solution, I could simply rely on the urls provided by the Google Drive Sync integration to interact with my files. Thanks in advance,
Hi allI'm organising a straightforward, but extensive catalogue of books. My users are frustrated when they apply a filter, or do a Ctrl-F search for, say "Fried" and it returns all occurrences of that string, such as "Friedman", rather than the word on its own. Any ideas? I'm sure it's simple . . .ThanksEd
Hello there! I've built a Base to track "Vacation Requests" and 'balance vacation days' in two simple tables:1) Staff: where fields are name, email, role, hired date, accrued days (formula based on hired date), used days (roll up from the sum of all approved vacation requests), balance days (accrued-used).2) Vacation Request: where fields are req. id (formula), name (linked from staff table), email (linked from staff table), start-date, end-date, requested days (formula), status, duration (formula, only populate if status approved, this field is used on a roll up in the 'staff' table). Up to there, everything's perfect. Where I'm stuck is how to keep track once the 12 month period is reset for each team member. Picture below illustrates an example: Technically, for that team member that used 27 days already, now "his" calendar starts all over again, and he now should have 28 days available. Since all team members have different "hired dates" this is where I a
Hi Everyone,i am new to Airtable and try to build a small solution for our cycling club. We like to keep track of group rides, so i have three tables:Members (List of all Members)Routes with the fields:NameDistanceRecords with the fields:Member (multiple records, from Members table)Route (from Routes table)DateI have a form there a member can create a records and add a records for a group ride on a date and can select multiple members who joined the ride. A member can do the same route on multiple days. Now id like to create a view which shows a member list with the sum of the distance of the routes.Expected output:Marianne Westhoff, Distance 40Marcel Mertens, Distance 30Daniela Feuersträter, Distance 30Max Wievel, Distance 20Werner Heldt: Distance 20How can i do this?
Hello community! I am looking for assistance with the design of a table that involves records with a field linked to other records within the same table. I know how to include differed records in a field but I donk know how to see in the second ones that have been connected. Let's see an example: I have a table with a list of schools. I mark in a field of one of the records (school 1) that collaborates with 2 other schools (school 2, school 3) (I use a field linked to the base that permits multiple records). The question is: how can I see inside the records school 2 and school 3, that they have been linked to the record school 1? Is it a way to get this? Thank you very much Marta
I wanted my user records to have a field determining skills and proficiency for each skillsSay for exampleFull Name | Language ProficienciesElsa | English - Beginner, Dutch - Mid-Level, Japanese - FluentHow do I achieve that?
Hey team, I’m looking to create a form where our team members can submit updates on the Objectives / Steps they’re working on. Ideally I’d like to have the member select the Objective and based on that, the Steps option will filter to the steps within that Objective. Is that possible?
I have an interface that pulls data from our working base.We have recently begun to approach our max limits on that working base. I have duplicated the working base and called that duplicate "Archive01". I plan to delete all but a year's worth of data from our working base to free up space, leaving the "Archive01" base to contain past historical information.I have an interface that currently looks to the working base to import data and produce charts to assess the past 3 years worth of work. I now need to change that sync to have it pull the data from the "Archive01" base instead so I can maintain all the charts. However, when I go into the sync configurations to change it, I am only allowed to change what VIEW I want to pull data from. I am unable to change the BASE.Any idea how I can keep my interface connected to all that data so I don't have to redo all the charts??
HelloWe have 50,000 max record limit on our plan.On our settings page, it says we're up to 35,500+ records thus far. However, when I manually look at all our master tables of data, it only ads up to 28,000So I'm wondering where is that 7,500 record discrepancy is coming from?If I have ONE record in my master table that shows up in 10 other views, does that single record actually count as 11 records?? (in the master table + the 10 other views)I always assumed that views simply pull select filtered items from the master record set and didn't count toward the base record max, since they are just regurgitating data that already exists, and not adding more data rows. Is that incorrect thinking? Thanks.
Hello!I have 2 bases with a table that has two-way synchronization. In the destination base I have added many formulas to calculate prices and costs. Now I need to return the final result value to the source table.I tried using automations, but using "Update Rung" is not allowed in these syncs.I also tried with formulas, but it is not possible. Is there a way to do it within Airtable? The other option is to use third-party tools, such as Make or Zapier, but I prefer to avoid that for now.
Help! We are a Charity that trains Assistance Dogs for Autistic Families. I have a table with ALL the people that have ever had to do with thecontact/dealings with charity at some point... however, this is my dilemma:Mr X is currently a 'Volunteer' and a 'Subscriber' but he used to be a 'Fostererer' so his Contact Type is currently a multiple select field where all three are listed. BUT it doesn't tell me which Type is active and I have been asked to show who's doing what currently and not previously. What do I need to do to my base to identify that Mr X has 'Active' status on both Volunteer and Subscriber but 'Inactive' status for Fostererer.
Hello,We are one of many Homeshare programs in California, that operate out of different agencies with different tracking systems etc. but we try to collaborate across programs with the understanding that we all are working towards the same end goal.Another program showed us how they use Airtable to track their participants, and their workflow is very similar to ours. They built the database themselves, with much research, tutorials etc.Would it be possible to import the structure of their database to use it on our end, without any of their clients' info? How would that work?Thank you for any insights!Julie
I just imported an Excel Spreadsheet but one of my formulas did not come through – namely, =INDIRECT(SUBSTITUTE(fieldname," “,”_")) The value of the previous field determines the single select options for the subsequent field. I notice another user posted this request last year, but for some reason the topic was closed a short time later. Does anyone have a workaround? Dynamic dropdown options on forms Ask the community I am trying to create a mentor request form & table for our community and I haven’t been able to figure out the setup to meet our requirements. Here they are: There will be a mentor request form that is sent out to all users in our community asking them to select an available mentor from a dropdown list. available means that the mentor has less than 2 mentor requests in the current month We would then keep track of mentor requests and close them as they get done How would one go about setti… Dynamic Dropdown Re
Hi!I'm trying to design a database where products are made up of a number of different units. Let's say there are a maximum of 10 types of units, but the quantity differes from each product. For example:The product Box1 consists of 64 units of part X and 64 units of part YBox2 consists of 12 units of part XBox2 consists of 128 units of part X and 400 units of part Z.How do I design the database to make it easy to add a new product and enter information about the units?
Hello Airtable Community,I am currently facing a challenge with importing data into Airtable and properly linking it to existing lookup fields. I have a set of customer names that I've exported from a FileMaker database into a CSV file, and I'm trying to import these names into my Airtable base. My goal is to link these imported names to a lookup field that references customer names in another table. Here's a brief overview of my setup:I have a table (let's call it "Customers") that contains a list of customer names. There's another table where I'm importing my data (let's call it "Orders").In the "Orders" table, I have a lookup field that should display information from the "Customers" table, based on the customer names. The issue I'm encountering is that the imported customer names from FileMaker are not correctly linking to the existing customer names in the "Customers" table, hence not populating the lookup field as expected. The names in my CSV file match the names in the "Customers"
