Base Design

I have all my Raw data going into one table, and then I'm syncing it to another table to customize it so it looks more ... understandable, with Dropdown and colour codes and such.  If I change the field types in the Second Table, will the syncing from the Raw table still populate?example: the status field in the second table will be a single select (New, Old, or blah), when a record is synced with a status of 'New' (or dare I dream 'new', will the status be the single select choice of New be selected?Also, what happens if there's an option that isn't in the list?

HiI would like to know how to save images into airtable field while saving data from a webapp UI (build using nocode tools like bubble). Unlike other data fields this image field is not getting saved by following standard approach of mapping table column to the webapp user interface's field's  value.Should scripting extension be used to achieve this (having an url and saving url to image?). Or Am I missing some thing. Please suggest.ThanksSri

Hello! I'm an artist using Airtable to keep track of each artwork that I create. I currently post some artworks on sites that allow me to promote them with affiliate links. Here's what I want to do - if I indicate in my multi-select status field that an artwork has been posted to an affiliate site, I'd like that artwork record added to a new "Affiliate Table" that includes a field for affiliate link. This way I can track individual artworks and larger page section affiliate links on the Affiliate Table. So... how can I do this?

I need to create a private table in a shared based where only select users can VIEW and EDIT. Is this possible? Any extension that could help do this? 

Hi! Wondering if anybody has an idea for this:I've set up a form for my company in which they can submit a contract request for a talent, and if that talent has an agent ; they can then submit the agency name, contact & info as well. The form entries are set up as a "single line text" because we're constantly working with new talent & agencies, so i don't want to limit managers to a "single select" option, if it means they can't input a new talent/agency.Now what I would like to do is create a tab of all of the agencies we've worked with across the organization, and be able to easily pull together their talent roster. I've tried syncs and linking to fields, but if we work with the same agency more than once - it just creates an all new record, instead of adding their talent to the original record. Has anyone worked out a problem like this before?

Original base primary field was not useful [Newbie design]. It is 312 records. The data will not change and no records will be added or deleted.I copied data from another field (same field type - single line text) which will also not be changed. I did a copy & paste from the second field to the primary field. The data copied from the second field has dependencies.Question: Can I change the dependencies from the second field to the primary field or should I just 'Hide" the second field?

Hi all,Wondering if any one has experience of syncing Airtable with JIRA Cloud, I've setup a sysnc'd table in Airtable to pul our service desk data so I can build a dashboard, however some of our custom fields have not been pulled though one example is Organisations, this is a key field I need to build a useful dashboard. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks in Advance Matt

Base A has two tables (table 1 &  table 2)table 1 has a "link to another record" field to table 2 is it possible to sync both tables to Base B and keep the "link to another record" fields intact so that data will continue to sync? or is this something that can only be done with the ability to 2-way sync in the enterprise plan? 

Hello, Our Marketing team uses Airtable to manage tasks and campaigns across functions. These bases sync to a single base that marketers can use to view all their tasks across different bases. My question is: can we manage and process these tasks from the consolidated synced base? Doesn't seem so...all we can create are views and if we want to update the task and/or import documents, we have to go into the source base from which the synced task originated from. Is there away around this? Can we open permissions to all updates to the task in the synced base that will carry over to the originating base?

@WilliamPorter thank you both for your answers. I guess my question here is pros and cons of email vs. Full name as Primary fields. At first i had emails, which is very useful as i tend to link my calendar instances using "attendees" field which then links with contact email address. But the cons was whenever i searched i want to search for a contact, i can't do so using their name. (in forms etc, linking manually in other tables etc). Now i switched the primary field to full name, but then i am unable to auto link my calendar instance using Attendees field. So my question here is: what is best practice? is there a way of keeping email, but being able to find contacts using their name rather when searching? alternatively, is there a way of linking record to table using a defined field than automatic? thanks 

Inherited this position.  Not getting much help from my predecessors.   I learn best If I can talk to you share my screen et.  al I am willing to compensate  My issue will be trite to you I am sure.Some of my questions:my predecessors created new tabs. How did she move the names to them from the main data base? We have a  column set up that when you type in the category the name moves to the designated section. I did it and it created a new section?I get multiple notifications of a new prospect. HiI have a list of business divisions (business divisions table) within an organization like, 'Large Projects', 'Innovation', 'Small Projects', 'Government Projects' etc.There is a employee master (employees table) where in each employee is mapped against a business division. One division can have multiple employees linkedThere is a need to create new project(projects table) for a division  and select an employee for the project. While selecting the employee (a linked field in projects table pointing to employees), is there any way to restrict the employees that are belonging to the business division selected (a linked field in projects table pointing to business divisions table)If there are any alternates please suggestThanksSri

Hello Community,I need to have an address table that deals with some people having different street and mail addresses and some having only a street address. Hi All -  I'm trying to get a better understanding of the Google Calendar Table Synch. Goal: Add attendees one by one to a Google calendar event as they RSVP through a front-end system that uses Airtable as the backend. Current setup: Events Table that is synched to our GCal, second RSVP table that connects 'Members' to 'Events' Every time I try to find a workaround I ended up running into another issue. I'm not able to edit Synched Tables directly and there isn't a two-way table synch, so I wouldn't be able to add Attendees directly in the Airtable.Automations worked almost perfectly, but you aren't able to add attendees, you can only replace all attendees. The problem here is that I would create so much email spam if every time someone new signed up for an event, we send all previously RSVPd guests another email.  Are there any Airtable native solutions? Is Make.com or Zapier the only way? A

Hello!We have a table that our team uses to keep track of tasks. I have another table in a different base where I keep track of our email newsletter schedule.  Base 1: Table = TasksBase 2: Table = Newsletter CalendarI want to be able to create a task for each newsletter and use the two-way sync to link the tasks back to the newsletter calendar. I've created a shared view in the newsletter calendar. What I'm stumped on is how do I add each of the newsletters as a task record in the task table. Is there not a way to import records from a synced base into an existing table?  

Amazing and wonderful Airtable support team: Please create separate section on the community here for the MOBILE apps. Currently there is no place to talk. I hope the reason why no board is created is because the mobile apps board would be the board where you see the most reports about bugs. There are so many bugs and issues in the mobile apps that listing of them would obscure everything else being discussed here. The mobile apps are so faulty, it’s a shame Airtable doesn’t work on fixing issues. While I was discussing with the support people they encoutaged me to switch to desktop because the mobile apps are designed for viewing only and not editing. Well that’s not the impression I’m getting from the apps description. There are bugs, constant crashes when editing records or adding attachments. Hi, A few days ago, the display of the timeline records has changed. While previously the details of the records were limited to the strip of the entry, now they go beyond that (see screenshots). The timeline thus loses a lot of clarity, which is essential for our work. Is it possible to change this back to the previous state, change the display or is there an update that restores the former state?

So, I'm trying to add a day to the columns, but I need it to add exponentially... if you know what I mean.  It would be nice if we could click and drag like in sheets with this stuff. 

Hi all, Guessing this is a popular question, yet when I am searching the existing questions I've not yet found the solution. There's gotta be an easy fix.... right???  We've a base listing our clients. Each client might have between 1-3 staff assigned to support that client. For example: Steve, Jill, Carl supporting Client ASteve supporting Client BJill supporting Client CCarl supporting Client DIf I group the sheet by 'Assigned Staff' I get a list that looks Similar to above, but I am trying to produce a sheet that looks more like: Steve Supporting Client A + BJill Supporting Client A + CCarl Supporting Client A + DWhats the easiest way to achieve this? I've run into a strange issue that I can't figure out. For one of my tables, when I right-click on a record and select "Duplicate" it doesn't do anything. On all the other tables, when I right-click and select "duplicate" it works just fine. Could it be possible that a certain field type stops records from being able to be duplicated?Has anyone run into a similar situation?
