Hi all, Been experimenting if airtable can speed up my workflow for inspection reporting by using some forms and drop down fields. Right now I take photos on my phone and create a google doc report from a template then pdf and send to customer. Kind of stuck how to set-up the relationships across the tables and how to build the form or interface. Any resources or guidance y'all can offer?

Hello, I obeserved a significant slowdown of the Undo actions in the past weeks/months. I was hoping this would be resolved over time but it reached a state where it can take minutes for an Undo action to take effect. Suffice to say this leads to inefficiencies and confusion as of whether an undo action took place or not. Am I the only one observing this problem?

Hey!I have this "project management base" that I use for all my projects as a freelancer. in one of the fields I have Fee/budget. For some projects I invoice in parts, so maybe 1/3 on signing the contract, 1/3 on first delivery and 1/3 on completion.I my "main" grid view I have all my projects sorted on completion status. But I also have a Kanban view for tracking invoices which is built on the single select field "invoice status"; not ready, sent, paid etc.Does anyone have a suggestion for a convenient way of "splitting" the budget field so that it appears as 3 separate "invoices" in my invoice view, but is still attached to only one project in the main view if you understand what I mean? (i.e. I don't want to have to create a "separate project" in the grid for each of the invoice parts)

Hi All,I have been trying to create a base to manage our project purchasing and accounts payable process. We are a residential building company and run around 12 projects at once, with detailed and extensive project budgets.  These budgets are broken into categories relevant to the building stage, including materials, consultant services, accepted trade quotations, etc. Most of these line items are products from supply agreements, contract rates from contractor agreements, etc. These agreements are valid for approximately 12 months, and the items within the agreement form a catalogue (inventory), I guess. The line items for materials are the actual product per the supplier's catalogue, enabling us to order the products from our budgets accurately.I want to be able to select several rows within a budget to all be included on a purchase order generated in Airtable or, in some way, on a branded PO PDF template. Hi All,I'm trying to create a simple base that allows me to track items in boxes. An item can only be in one box so a one-to-many relationship seems like the right thing here. I added the link field to my Items table and made sure that "Allow linking to multiple records" is off in the settings. This works when I'm adding items and putting them into boxes. However, when I open the Boxes view and add an existing item to a box, it does not get removed from the previous box. Instead it ends up being in multiple boxes at the same time, exactly as if it was a many-to-many relationship.This looks like a bug to me. Is there any way to move an item without having to remove it manually from the old box?Thanks for your help, P

Dear friends, I need again your help.I am creating a database in which I will add information about patients with a specific disease. In a main table, I will summarise the most relevant information about each patient, and each row will correspond to a patient (record) with a specific ID number. In another table called "visits" I will add data about all the outpatients visits (each per row with a specific date). Each patient on the first table can have more than 1 visit but each visit can be associated only with 1 specific patient. I correctly linked the 2 tables, and now in the main table, I can see all the visits for each patient. What I need to do now is to visualise in a field of the main table specific information contained in a specific field of the "visits" table. I'm using a Calendar view, the "Customize labels" option, and the "Sync to an external calendar" option. The customized labels show up fine in Airtable's calendar, but when I sync the Calendar view to my Google Calendar, the name of the event is just the Date. I can't see the customized labels from Google Calendar. I've tried reconfiguring and re-sharing the calendar, but nothing seems to update it.See screenshots.Thank you for any help you can offer!–Ben

Hi Friends, I need help from somebody. I am trying to build a database to enter data of some patients with a specific disease. I created a 1st table di patients' unique IDs and some demographics. What I need is to add "events" related to each patient, which could be operations and follow-up visits. Each event includes info like date, type of surgery, patient status and so on. Each patient can have multiple events, but each event can be related just to one patient. Can someone help me and suggest how to proceed? Thanks a lot 🙂

Hi, Let's say I build a form on top of a table with fieldsClassroom | Student name | Favorite classmateI'd like the form to allow each student (indexed by Student name) to pick their favorite classmate from a dropdown list that contains only the students in their classroom (ie. the Student names pertaining to a group defined by the field Classroom). I'd like this to be able to scale to a few thousand classrooms, so creating new fields is not an option. I'm an Airtable noob but experienced engineer. Thanks in advance! 

I am creating a database to follow-up on some patients. Some patients have been operated on, others not and I created a field "single select" (yes/no). I need to make visible for the user some fields (columns) only if the answer to the "single select" is yes. Is this possible?Thanks you

Hello, I am still getting used to Airtable and am having trouble designing my tables and views. I am looking for some help from the community. Here's the scenario:I am trying to create a gallery view of approved real estate properties that I can share with my clients.Clients should be able to sort and filter the gallery view to help them find properties.The card view will show a couple fields but clients can click on the card to expand the record, to see all fields (with exceptions mentioned below).I have 2 people helping me search for real estate properties to add, so I want to create 2 forms for each of them to submit their properties for approval. I have a "Task" Table with a Timeline View to track my employees’ resource utilization. So far I love the tool!  BUT... I am running into a major limitation when I try to enter multiple “Days Off”.  To my knowledge, the “Days Off” Date field can contain only one Date. Is that true?Multiple days off must be entered individually in my “People” table, then linked to a Lookup Field in my “Tasks Table” which populates a date field with all days off as comma separated dates.  The problem with this approach is that most employees take multiple, consecutive days off, not individual days.  I don't want to have them enter each day one-at-a-time for a 5 day vacation.  Ideally I would use a form with a date range (Vacation Start—Vacation End) and let the system do the calculation for the Utilization.Am I making sense? If so, does anyone know if there is a solution to this issue?

I am new to Airtable and I am trying to recreate something I have done in Excel (see attached image)I have a uniclass 2015 system list of Codes that cascade down and have a relationship with each other, as shown in the image you have a group that has a sub-group which then has a section and then objects.what I am trying to do is group each of the groups, subgroups, sections, and objects, so I can minimize the group level or expand down to the sub-group, section, or all the way down to the object levels as shown in the Excel image.Ive tried using the group function but it doesn't seem to give me the desired result, if anyone could help i would be very greatfulKind Regard

Is it possible to make a rollup field where the output is a list of user records (linked records, not just flattened names)? Hi!  We are trying to use record templates to build out our Airtable environment.  We've looked through the help pages but cannot figure out how to build out the record template to accomplish what we want.  Are there any experts or consultants that could help us work through the challenges we're experiencing?  

I have a table of collaborators where one of the columns is Line of Business (LOB), which is also a column in a couple of other tables. I want to create (shared) views of those other tables that is automatically filtered on the LOB of the logged in user. Is that possible?

I manage an organization which hosts various events and we'd like to use Airtable to track RSVPs and attendance at these vents.  Some of our events are open to the local community while others are for members only.  I have created an Events table which includes a checkbox to indicate which events are open to the community.Now I'd like to create a form for RSVPs that conditionally shows a field for respondents to indicate the number of guests a person is bringing (think +1s) ONLY when the event chosen in the form is open to the public?Does anyone know a way to make this work???  Thanks so much!

Hello, I'm looking to make a table in Airtable that can sum a column based on the unique combination of other columns. Below is a sample of how I would do this in Excel using a pivot table.  The use-case is we are trying to create a labor tracking system for our manufacturing floor. Team members come in and work on different assemblies, parts and operations. Generally, there can be two records for the same combination of columns (a real example would be someone spends 4 hours on Thursday working an assy/part/operation, they submit their time tracking form for the day and then return on Friday and spends another 2 hours on that assy/part/operation to complete the job). How can I achieve this? I thought I could do it with the Uniquearray function but unforunately cannot seem to get the solution working properly. Thanks in advance!&n

Hi All, I've been building out a base on Airtable and am running into some issues with the linking. I've linked two tables together. I'll try to explain here what I'm experiencing. Table 1: Action Items and Column 1: Item Name; Column 2: Pillar OwnerTable 2: ProjectsI've linked my Action Items table to my Projects table. I brought in both the action item name and the pillar owner name into the projects table via the Action Items table. I then decided I didn't want these tables linked in this way. I removed the Item Name and Pillar Owner columns from the Projects table. I think found a more appropriate way to link the tables, so I re-linked the Action Items table to the Projects table, but brought in different columns. Now, via my dropdowns (specifically when I'm attempting to create a Lookup column - this doesn't happen when I'm attempting to Link to another record), I have two Action Ite

Hello All, Essentially, is there a way to set the column widths in a view other than clicking and dragging each separate one? I have to change the width of something like 10 fields across 50 views, and I’d rather not have to click and drag 500 fields individually. Especially since they all should be a standard width. I’ve looked around online and haven’t found anything - but if you know of a solution, you’d save me a lot of time. Thanks!

Hi, When I try to upload any images or files on desktop, I receive an 'error uploading file' message. Uploading off my phone works fine. Is something on my end not working, or is this feature down? Thanks.
