So, I'm trying to add a day to the columns, but I need it to add exponentially... if you know what I mean. It would be nice if we could click and drag like in sheets with this stuff.
Hi all, Guessing this is a popular question, yet when I am searching the existing questions I've not yet found the solution. There's gotta be an easy fix.... right??? We've a base listing our clients. Each client might have between 1-3 staff assigned to support that client. For example: Steve, Jill, Carl supporting Client ASteve supporting Client BJill supporting Client CCarl supporting Client DIf I group the sheet by 'Assigned Staff' I get a list that looks Similar to above, but I am trying to produce a sheet that looks more like: Steve Supporting Client A + BJill Supporting Client A + CCarl Supporting Client A + DWhats the easiest way to achieve this? Would LOVE it if there is a known video out there that can walk me through the steps. ❤️
I've run into a strange issue that I can't figure out. For one of my tables, when I right-click on a record and select "Duplicate" it doesn't do anything. On all the other tables, when I right-click and select "duplicate" it works just fine. Could it be possible that a certain field type stops records from being able to be duplicated?Has anyone run into a similar situation?
Okay - I've been going along and creating stuff for a while with Airtable. I was a master at Excel and could link cell information into other sheets and such from other records.I've gotten where I am using Lookup within in a base between tables, but I am puzzled by a result that makes it very hard to wrap my brain around it still after three years - I still don't get this. (And yes I have watched the videos, read the articles, searched the community, only to become even more confused.Base: PeopleTable A: Basic Fields includePrimary field - Function (Last Name, First name)Last Name (Single)First Name (Single)Email Address (Email) Table B: DetailsPrimary Field - (Still not sure what to do here)Field: FullName - Linked to Basics / Question 1: Why is the Lookup Field here? What real purpose does it serve/used for? I end up hiding the field anyway and the end of the field rows.Notice btw I have Allow linking to multiple records turned off here.&n
Hello,I'm trying to find a way to be able to export a view in a .txt file based on a template.Example view:Template would be like:Hello {Name} {Lastname}, you are a {Age} {Gender}So the .txt file would look like:Hello Martin Shelvi, you are a 22 MaleHello Lara Croft, you are a 29 Female
Hi, we are importing data with a CSV and have a few fields with currency. On the CSV, the amount reflects in the following example:397,00 €, but when we import it, Airtable changes it to; €39,7000,97 €, but when we import it, Airtable changes it to; €97.00Our field is set on Currency and €1.00.Please see the screenshot attached. Please, can you help rectify the fields so that the amounts are the same as in the CSV file? Thanks
Trying to do an airtable base for tracking lease contracts information. On one table I have the contracts data: Client, date of lease, term, area, price etc.On another table I have inflation data. (Either CPI or INPC), Monthly data. What I would like to do is to get the latest row on inflation table (let's say April 2023) and divide that value by the cpi data of the inicial term date. (I tried linking the contract table with the inflation table and instead of having the date of contract I would select the correct date from the inflation data).I did get the original cpi data with a simple lookup but I don't know how to get the latest row data so I can divide and get accumulated inflation since the lease was signed.
My first community post...In a table Results I have a structure like this:Category field selects from another tableProcess field also selects from another tablePressures field selects from a third tableEach row of Results has a unique combination of Category - Process - Pressures for which it provides numeric data (analysis results) in subsequent fields. How can I create a lookup with both Category and Process to identify the Pressures and numeric results? Another catch is that Process is also dependent on Category, as not all Processes are available to all Categories. So ideally the user would choose a Category and then see available Processes. After selecting a Process, they get a report of all the Pressures with the numeric data in a report.Possible in Airtable?
i’m creating a database where one of the tables is “people.” currently i have it set up so that the primary field concatenates the person’s first and last names to become a full name field. i also have this linked to another table in the base so that people in the table can register for events by finding their record in the people table to associate with their registration. however, it just occurred to me that i haven’t accounted for the fact that people in our database might have the same name, which would make the primary field not unique. i don’t really want to add their record ID to the primary field formula, which is the easiest solution i can think of, because then people would see that when they register for an event & find themselves in the list. i suppose i could create a more complicated way to handle RSVPs where it comes into another table & then matches with existing people somehow (i know this is possible, but haven’t learned how to do it yet). is there an easier w
Alright...I think I'm being super dense here, but I can't figure out how to do something that is probably super basic. In this base : https://airtable.com/shrKq03xsOCwHUmbLWhat we have:Projects table; a list of projectsPeople table; a list of people, with some links where I can assign them to a role, a team, and a project. Lifecycle table; here is where I want to be able to automatically assign task ownership, due and actual dates (although I haven't bothered putting the date fields here yet), etc. This is the table where I am struggling, as I will describe in a bit.Teams table; here is where I am creating project teams, assigning them to specific projects (via links to Projects), and putting people on those teams.Tasks table; this is a preset list of tasks and which role on the team owns the task. For example, Task 1 is always owned by whomever on the team is the Product Manager. Task 2 is always owned by whomever on the team is the Program Manager, etc. What I am tr
SituationI've got a base (with 2 script extensions) which I share publicly and with all sharing options (copy data & extensions) enabled. The base is also not over it's extension limit in the workspace.ProblemWhen another user accesses this shared link and copy it to his/her workspace, the 2 scripts are there but their code is overwritten/removed with the default 'hello world' script.I do see for example this shared (vlookup example) base where the scripts are working when you copy that base.Do you have an idea why it does not work for me?Do I need this deprecated beta to share extensions? Thanks in advance!
I have a base that contains an address table with the following 7 fields.Field: Address Season Value: Year Round. - Gets mail there all year round Value: Summer. - Get mail there online the summer Value: Winter. - Gets mail there only in the winterField: Address Type Value: Street - Street address and where they get their mail Value: Mail - If they get their mail at a P.O. BoxField: Address - Street Address or P.O. BoxField: Address 2 - Apt. #Field: CityField: StateField: ZipI need to filter in the following fashion:Where Address Season Is Exactly Year RoundOr Address Season Is Exactly SummerAnd Where Address Type IF (Mail, Mail, Street)Is there a way to do this? Thanks, Scott
I want to build out an employee database. What I'm starting to run into is having 5000 fields in a single table, based off of employee name. There's a lot of data that doesn't need to be together, so while I can create 20+ different views, it seems like I might be overcomplicating things. Basically, I'd love to be able to have my employees as a record, and have different tables perhaps that all organize around the employee record. For example:Employee->Personal InfoEmployee->Social InfoEmployee->Employment History InfoWhat are some good ways of trying to organize this data?
Hi to all.Happy to report that when I asked ChatGPT for an app that will display reactive table views that will adapt to the display size, it suggested AirTable. So I prepared a gallery view with info that I want to share with my co-workers ( i work in the location management department in film).Designing was quick and easy. But then... the character size is so small on my huge Note 20 display. And the web links were not clickable. Any way to address these issues? I mean... it must be 6 pts size.
I have a question about displaying more records at a time in calendar view. My company uses a variation of the Shipley method, which employs different colors to denote different stages in a project. I have my entries set to display with a project name, stage, and start/end times, with color formatting determined by certain fields in the record. As far as I can tell, you can only see a maximum of 8 entries at a time in a compact format, which is the 2-week view. This seems to be the same both in the interface and the regular view. Is there an alternate way to see entries with this type of coloring in a similar compact view? I am not happy with the Gantt, Timeline, or List views, which either spread things out too much or don't have the same coloring options. I would prefer to have a 2-week calendar format that simply has more rows, but I can't figure out if there is a way to do this within the calendar option or if there is something similar available in another feature t
We are setting up a Booking system with Airtable and trying to find a way to hide / disallow our customers from selecting weekends on the Form View. We want to be able to see weekends on our end in the calendar view, but the customer should not be able to select a weekend as a start or end date. Any ideas?
Hi!Is it possible to show on a public page some field of a row and ask the guest to fill some other fields? Thanks!
Hey all! Working on making Page Designer work hard to create the thing I need 🙂 A couple of limitations I have run into that I haven't found a workaround for yet:1) Flowthrough to another column. Currently I have this list of information:But I want to be able to run it over 2 columns like this (duplicated the field to illustrate what I want):The information would flow from the bottom of the first column to the top of the second in my perfect world.2) Grouping within the field in Page DesignerI love being able to do this in the regular tables, and this particular list I need to have grouped by Department in the same way:So the table above that I want in 2 columns...I also want sub-grouped by Department. The simple sort by department is ok, but not ideal because I need this form to look like what my film guys are used to seeing. Any thoughts? Thanks!!
Hi,I have a question and when it could be solved I will be a lot further in the development of my Airtable database.I have a database with 3 tables.Table1 with 1 field : Company.ShellBPEssoTable2 with 2 fields : DB (Text) and Company (link to another record)ShopDB ShellTRA ShellOil ShellTrack BPBounce BPEloy EssoYama EssoAOC EssoTable3 with 3 fields : Company (link to another record), Database (link to another record) and Amount (Currency).I select the Company : Shell (link to another record). Now, in the field DB (link to another record), I only want to see the DB’s that match the selected Company,so ShopDB, TRA and Oil and not the
Hi everyone,I am in commercial real estate and we own a bunch of properties. We have a leasing checklist we run through every time we are about to sign a new lease at any of the properties. I am trying to think about the best way to set up the checklists so that each time we enter a new lease, the checklist will be created for that tenant. I am new to Airtable and I am not sure if I should have a different table for every tenant and checklist, or create one table that has the checklist for each tenant (but then how would we view just one checklist at a time, etc.). Thanks!
Hi Airtable gurus,I'm working with a set of bases structured in the following logic:Partner base: list of partners and their metadata (e.g. legal status, primary contact, website etc.)Case base: list of cases and their metadata (e.g. region, industry, case manager etc.)Practice bases (multiple): combines where partners are impacting cases. (Yes ideally this would have been one master base, but for reasons outside of my control right now that is not something we can play with)Case x Partner rollup: base that rolls up all the individual practice base activityWe are now trying to build a single interface that can display the partner information and to display analytics for cases by partner (and for e.g. region and industry cuts of the case activity) but I'm finding it difficult to connect back the partner base to these transactional records of 'cases x partner' so that it can be displayed in a single interface. I have tried various hacks to aggregate and send case coun
Today I noticed that when adding records to the the bottom/Level 1 of a List view that is filtered on that bottom level, none of the filtered conditions pre-populate, so the new record is automatically filtered out. I tested this in several Base List views and Interface List views, and the behavior was consistent. This is easy to fix with as simple automation, but the thing is... I was working in the same base and interface yesterday, and I swear this wasn't happening then. Yesterday, adding records to a filtered view prepopulated the filtered fields with the filtered values, just like in a grid view.Is this a new bug, or am I just misremembering how the List view behavior was working previously?
The table column I work with is usually in the monitor screen's center. If I need to edit a description or a formula, I press the arrow on the right side of the field name and then press the "Edit field". The edit window appears in the center and to the left. It appears right below the main line with the field names. This window immediately overlaps the data in two or three fields. Often this is the important data I need for writing the formula. How can I move this window down for two or three rows?
I want certain fields in my table to auto-populate with the designated default values I've given them. While it is working as expected when I add records manually, it does not work when I import records. I am trying to avoid using automations as I want to keep my automation runs low, and this particular use case would cause them to run up rather quickly. Anyone else run into a similar issue? Thanks!
Good day y'all,I have an issue with my Base page freezing whenever filter is changed to find another item. Browser will then very often freeze and a window will appear asking me if I want to "wait" or kill page. Other tabs on the browser will work just fine (as long if it isn't this particular Base). Other notable mentioning: Used/test on Brave and Chrome browser and Airtable Windows Desktop App Desktop/laptop systems resources are not 100% (CPU or Memory) utilized48,284 / 50,000 Records utilized8 active Automations6 tabs (the majority of data) are synced from other BasesQuite a large amount of columns consisting of Formulas Is there any reasons particular this is happening? What issue would I need to address first to relief the system from the stress? This is pretty critical for the business the daily operations. Unfortunately the support team hasn't responded since yesterday. So here I am 😞
