Base Design

I manage an organization which hosts various events and we'd like to use Airtable to track RSVPs and attendance at these vents.  Some of our events are open to the local community while others are for members only.  I have created an Events table which includes a checkbox to indicate which events are open to the community.Now I'd like to create a form for RSVPs that conditionally shows a field for respondents to indicate the number of guests a person is bringing (think +1s) ONLY when the event chosen in the form is open to the public?Does anyone know a way to make this work???  Thanks so much!

Hello, I'm looking to make a table in Airtable that can sum a column based on the unique combination of other columns. Below is a sample of how I would do this in Excel using a pivot table.  The use-case is we are trying to create a labor tracking system for our manufacturing floor. Team members come in and work on different assemblies, parts and operations. Generally, there can be two records for the same combination of columns (a real example would be someone spends 4 hours on Thursday working an assy/part/operation, they submit their time tracking form for the day and then return on Friday and spends another 2 hours on that assy/part/operation to complete the job). How can I achieve this? I thought I could do it with the Uniquearray function but unforunately cannot seem to get the solution working properly. Thanks in advance!&n

Hi All, I've been building out a base on Airtable and am running into some issues with the linking. I've linked two tables together. I'll try to explain here what I'm experiencing. Table 1: Action Items and Column 1: Item Name; Column 2: Pillar OwnerTable 2: ProjectsI've linked my Action Items table to my Projects table. I brought in both the action item name and the pillar owner name into the projects table via the Action Items table. I then decided I didn't want these tables linked in this way. I removed the Item Name and Pillar Owner columns from the Projects table. I think found a more appropriate way to link the tables, so I re-linked the Action Items table to the Projects table, but brought in different columns. Now, via my dropdowns (specifically when I'm attempting to create a Lookup column - this doesn't happen when I'm attempting to Link to another record), I have two Action Ite

Hello All, Essentially, is there a way to set the column widths in a view other than clicking and dragging each separate one? I have to change the width of something like 10 fields across 50 views, and I’d rather not have to click and drag 500 fields individually. Especially since they all should be a standard width. I’ve looked around online and haven’t found anything - but if you know of a solution, you’d save me a lot of time. Thanks!

Hi, When I try to upload any images or files on desktop, I receive an 'error uploading file' message. Uploading off my phone works fine. Is something on my end not working, or is this feature down? Thanks.

I have a budget tracker where an item needs to be allocated with multiple budget IDs in one column and the other column should specify the amounts that each of the budget IDs are been allocated which will give me the sum of total allocated amount in a column separately.  Lets say the below Opex Amount should be for the Budget IDs OP23_310_ProdEng_SW_001 and OP23_310_ProdEng_SW_002 for 300,000 USD and 250,000 USD each. I should be able to identify these separately as well as a total. Why I need them separately is I am doing a roll up function in another tracker which has the total approved amount, spent amount(which is rolled up from the above details) and remaining amount.  

I have a base with 2 tables - Teams and Projects (as shown below). Every 3 months the leader changes. Now if I update the leader name in Teams table, it updates the leader names in the previous records too in the Project table (because of Lookup). How can I prevent updating the lookup values in the previous records?Please try to provide a detail solution.

I know that, according to this support article that "Multiple records can [only] be selected one at a time from the list of linked records (there isn't a way to link multiple records at one time).I have a base with records for items to photograph. Each of those records has a Checkbox field for marking whether the item has been photographed or not. Hello, I'm just learning so I apologize for the ignorance.I'm trying to collect game statistics for my son's hs lacrosse team.I have a data table with fields of Statistics (like shots made, shots missed, etc.) and Player.I have a form that lets me enter statistic (e.g. forced a turnover), Player (6 Jimmy) and submit.From that, I have a pivot table that collects the stats for each player.I want to make a field for Quarter that doesn't have to be entered each time I create a new record.  I tried creating a table with game information and doing a lookup but I don't think that works.Is there a way to have a record keep the Quarter the same until I have it changed at the end of each quarter?  The goal is to be able to have a summary of stats for each quarter and the overall game.Thank you!Mike

I have created a custom URL for a survey using the prefilled forms extention but when the results come back they are anonymus. The URL has the name missing and am at a loss at to why this is or what to do to try and fix it…

I have an one base with about 30 tables. Majority of these tables are all surveys we have to send out regularly but the questions are all slightly different. Any ideas for consolidating all these forms? Having all 100+ questions from all of them combined into one table might just make it super cumbersome anytime we need to make a new form won’t it? Not sure the best and most efficient way to tackle this one

If you have a table, Table B, which is linked to Table A which has Project Name. Is there a way to update Table B with any new project specified in Table A?  

I have a base with three tables, Clients, Cases, and Case Approval. So far I have it set up so that as soon as a case in the "Cases" table has it's status changed to "Pending Approval" it will create a record in the "Case Approval" table. At this point I was hoping I could send an automated email to the client with the Airtable Record URL so they could open it and approve or reject the design. 1. Is this the best way to automate approvals? 2. Is there a way to accomplish approvals without the client needing an Airtable account? 

For me, something is broken with image attachments. I tried different browsers ,some browsers no possible to attach image, whether URL or copy past, and even the button to add image doesn't work. The other browser it works, but when I copy the URL, it will split into 2 attachments, one being non-descript "image.jpg" attachment (although I am copying from another field so it has already airtable specific string name) and another file which is basically the name of the attachment but the 2nd file is zero bytes so it shows error uploading. When copying the whole image, the copied image name gets a strange name "convert.jpg". So all copied images regardless of how many I copy are called in the new attachment field same name "convert.jpg" or "image.jpg" depending on whether I copy past the image or the url.

I have a base for my Dispatching business and i deal with brokerages that have different reps. I got a Brokerage Table and Contacts table for each individual rep and i link them to their particular Brokerage. I have another table where i keep Trips table but i want to know is their a way to bring in a field where i can search inside the linked records of the individual Brokerage?

Hello, Is anyone else experiencing this? I have been paying close attention to the new updates to airtable as I waiting a promised feature to be implemented. However, I've noticed for the past few months that what is being advertised as new implemented features are not actually available on my app or even online? Understandably, this is becoming quite frustrating there are features I have been trying to implement but they just don't seem to exist on my end. Is there something I am missing? Do I have to hit an "Update Airtable" button? if so, where is it??I am missing all features from March, April and a few from February. I am using the Pro plan on both app and online. Thank You.  

I am looking at a way to move from excel and found airtable.  I am wanting to make a table that has my clients and their information and then a table that has amount due amount paid and a balance.  I made these to tables but need a way to add the amount due ongoing weekly.  Like week of April 3rd and week of April 10th and so on and then an amount for each week.  Then when they make their payment, I can put it in and it will give a balance for that client.  I also want it to where I can give them a printout of what they owe and what they have paid. Thanks in advance am doing this in excel but feel like a database will be better option moving forward is this idea possible?

Hello. i would like to see where i can get some templates for a business directory. Once i choose a template and set it up, i would like to post a link to it in a group im in and have other members of the group be able to add themselves to this directory. What plan do i need to have to make this happen and how do i go about setting it up and does the person doing the inputing to my directory need to have a airtable account? Thanks

I have two tables - Table - 1 and Table - 2. Table - 2 fetches (lookup) values from Table - 1 based on the selection.Table - 1 has manager details for various teams, and Table - 2 has multiple projects. Now the managers keep changing for teams over the years (but the team remains constant), and in Table - 2, I want to select the team name, and it should fetch (lookup) the manager details. But when I update the manager name in Table 1, it automatically changes the above records' lookup values to the current manager name. How can I keep the old manager details associated with the old project name?

I created a grid and then wanted to use that but to modify so I didn't had to retype. Ideally I wanted it in a new tab but I couldn't figure out how so I duplicated the grid and started to modify but when I did that it's affecting the initial grid and changing things there too. Can I either move one grid to a separate tab or somehow unlink the grids in the same tab? I don't want to retype everything. Thanks everyone who might have an idea. 

Hi there, I'm trying to create an invoicing base. All the examples I've seen include establishing products or services with a set price in an Items or Services table. In my case, each invoice item is always unique. I never sell 2 of the same thing for the same price. So I'm not sure how to set up my invoice table so that I can insert multiple line items to the same invoice if they are not drawing from a preset table. Does anyone have an example like that to share?

I'm struggling to figure out a solution for scaling views.  I currently have a view for each of our districts (which gives me approximately 90 views). They all have identical data/fields with a filter to only see the pieces tagged in that district.  I set these up as views specifically because I need the shareable URL for users viewing that don't have an account. I am using that URL in some email automations - use case, district updates. So each month, an automated email to that manager saying "here's your highlights" (all dynamic fields) with a link to "view your detailed breakdown here" (dynamic field to insert the URL of their view).    Hopefully this makes sense so far.  My problem
