Hi everyone, This has been making my brain ache today. Having an issue with trying to link records conditionally with Webflow and Zapier integrated. If anyone has advice it’d be much appreciated. We have a membership website built in Webflow where members can sign up for classes via a form on each class’s CMS page. Each class is created in Airtable in our “Classes” table and published to our site via Zapier. The member enters their name and email through the form, which is then passed through Zapier and on to a “Class Registrants” table in Airtable. Each form has an html embed that pulls the Class Title from the CMS as a hidden field and passes it to Zapier and Airtable. This Class Title is automatically entered into a Linked Record field in the “Registrants” table that is connected to the “Classes” table, so the class title pulled from the form matches the class title in the “Classes” table and all the relevant information for the class is gathered as lookup fields to be used for an a

Hello I think there is a bug with how duplicating records works: I have a two tables linked together as many:1 - let’s say an “staff” table and a “role” record - where each staff member can only have one role, but the role can have many staff members assigned I duplicate a role record At this point I would expect the new role record to have no staff assigned as by having staff assigned it would break the rule of the staff record only having a single role Instead what I find is that any staff members assigned to the original role now have two roles assigned - this should not be possible as “allow linking to multiple records” is turned off. I can see why Airtable does it but it is bad and should not happen.

Hi Yall! I have a potentially confusing one… We have a team of people who are continuously onboarding and training on new items/products etc… Today, we utilize a checklist that is effectively in a document, and our teams have to copy their own instance of the checklist, and then work from that. The first problem is: things change. Things like, links to resources & documentation, training modules, etc… are always changing, and when these change in the, let’s call it Source Checklist, these changes are NOT propagated to everyone else’s individual checklist. The second problem is: new items/tasks are added. Every day we think of new things and improvements to help our teams learn, but much like our first problem, when we add new items to the Source Checklist, these of course are NOT reflected in the trainee’s individual checklist. I have an AirTable setup where I want to be able to assign particular team members a task. I can create a field type where the field type is “User”. I want multiple assignees :white_check_mark: Easy :zap: ! I also have vendors that I want to assign things too, but they won’t have access to the AirTable, it’s just so I know where things are at and I can track clients/vendors/partners. I want to keep things really uncomplicated. Is the best method to create fake users for these null accounts? Otherwise, I’m creating another field for clients/vendors/partners with dropdown options. Ideally everything lives in the same field. Clients/vendors/partners will never have access (by design). Any ideas on how to do this better than this?

Hi There, I am fairly new to Airtable and have adopted a base from someone that i am now trying to set up more efficiently. There is a large list of items in 1 table (400 entries). In the other table i want the user to select one of these items so i have set the field type to “link to another record” which then references the particular column with the 400 codes. i only want one record to be chosen / selected per entry i dont want the user to be able to choose an item which is not on the list and create a new record any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Hi there, I have a base with the following tables Issue Log (All incoming issues raised) Issue type (All issues and how many times the can occur before an action is taken) Users (All the users linked to a specific issue) I am trying to do the following. a) User fills out the form logging a specific type of issue for a specific user. b) I am looking at the number of times the specific type of issue can be logged before an action needs to be taken. Where I am having trouble is the following I want to know for that user how many times the specific issue has been linked to them to determine wether to take an action. Ideally I’d like to do thing using something like a COUNTIFS based on the user and the number of times the specific issue being logged has occurred for that user. The two fields I want to conduct the rollup for Rather than having the total issues related for a specific shopper I want the number of times that specific issue has occurred for a shopper. Built my base a little wrong I think but I just need this to last a couple months until a permanent solution comes in. In the screen shot I have a few rows that include different quantities of the same part number. I would like to be able to combine the same parts that are separated into a single row for a summary. They are separated like this because we have separate “batches” going out for powder coating. I presume this will be in rollups but I haven’t figured it out yet. I’m trying to spend very little time on building anymore into this as we have a permanent solution being made but it’s a month out yet. I started to play with interfaces but didn’t see an immediate solution there. This summary is to give counts and weights for shipping the products. These ship to powder coated and then come back to us for post process work.

Hi everyone, can you tell me how to convert a checkbox column into numbers? where the cells with the check become 1 and the cells without the check become 0. I tried to do it but it puts all the empty column back, while on the contrary from numbers to checkbox it seems to work

Hi - I’m trying to track spending for various entities by date, to allow the creation of a chart of spending by month. Our database has a list of Advertisers. And each of those Advertisers is linked to many Advertisements. Each Advertisement has already been assigned a dollar value and each record also has a date. How would I create a chart for each advertiser for what they’ve spent in a given date range — ideally by month and/or quarter? I’ve been able to create a cumulative sum of ad spending per Advertiser, but I’m stumped on breaking it down by month. Any help much appreciated! Thanks!

We’d like them to enter in their details (including the ID number) into a form. How do I create a form whereby if someone enters in ID number 0001, no one else can enter in 0001?

Hello all, I am a new user and working on a project to help people find what trees are native to their location. I am building a database to match plants to zipcodes, which are also mapped to growing zones, etc. My question is about working smartly with my zipcode base, which is over the 50,000 record limit for the plan I am on. I realize that I do not need all of these records, but really just the ones that relate to users on my app. Is there a good way for me to create a “just what I need” base on-the-fly as users add their location information? Other smart ideas are very very welcome. The answer can’t simply be to have an enormous database of zipcodes when it turns out I may only need 5 today, and 500 by the end of the year, can it? Hi! I am totally stuck here, so maybe I can ask you guys where I went wrong. I have the following situation as in this demo base: Airtable Demo220708 - Airtable Explore the "Demo220708" base on Airtable. In the first table I have different investments as rows with their total values for different periods as columns: Everything is great and I can see the total sum of all investments in the bottom row. Now my question - how do I get the total of each column into the period summary? I.e. The problem is that I cannot use rollup - because that is linked to a specific column, hence I get the same sum for all periods. Thanks in advance… :pray:

Hey AT peeps! So the image shown is the multi select our attendees are going to select one or many. These represent real data in another “Training Calendar” base and table: So the question is, how can I, possibly an automation, “attach” the actual event from this second pic/table, based on their entry/selection? since the field is a multi select, I’d need to be able to have multiple “events” attached. Ideas?

Hi - I would like my employees to be able to use Airtable as a place to add their personal objectives and mark them off as complete etc. Permissions is where I am struggling. I would like Employees to only be able to see their own objectives Managers to be able to see objectives of their employees (and add and edit new ones if required) Directors (who have a handful of managers, who in turn manage people) to be able to see their managers objectives and those employees reporting into them. so it’s like a pyramid of who can see and edit what. I’m struggling to find the best way to get this to work thanks

Hello, I’m looking for advice on setting up an event registration portal. We have a series of 8 classes, each of which have a particular capacity. Each applicant is welcome to sign up for multiple classes. We’d like to also track waitlisted applicants - registrations that happen after a class is full - so they can be registered if a spot opens up. Internal needs: A way to view each a list of people registered for each class A way to view all people, with information on their registrations, a way to keep track of payments received (happening outside of Airtable). A way to see people who have waitlisted for a class by date added, so they can be registered if spots open up. External needs A signup form, where people can register with their personal information and choose from all open classes. We’d prefer to do this in one form, where they can choose from a multi-select field, but if that’s more difficult I think it would work to do this as one form submission per signup. I do have

I have a client that I am working with: has a content production company and they have their production timeline split in phases like Shooting , Pre production , post production and Delivery with start and End date like this: What I want to do is to break it through into separate unique records so I can group them together in a Gantt chart and able to see each phase inside the same project like this gird view : Gantt Chart view Is that something I can automate if I have all dates starts and ends in one record , that would be great to automate , because they still want to use the same structure and not to break it down to this as insertions .Thank you guys for your assistance . I’m planning to use a combination of baseID + recordID combined into a single string as a unique identifier that I want to share w/ end users to represent “ownership” of a document. Meaning, if they have the link, they can access the document. I want to ensure that these IDs are sufficiently random enough that this sharing model is sufficiently safe, and that attackers could not predict/guess future values by inspecting these values. Thoughts? Alternatives? Not sure if I can generate UUIDs, that would be another possible avenue I would trust for this particular use case.

I recently asked for help in this community and someone shared two example bases with me to try and help answer my question. I am now trying to delete them but I have no option to do so. How do I get rid of these bases?

New Airtable user, I feel I am swiftly adapting to working in this environment. However, one issue I am having trouble visualizing is how to lay out a series of tables to meet this particular goal; any suggestions as to the most organized way to approach this are welcome. What I am looking to do may be able to be tackled in numerous ways. However, I am curious to see what the best practice solution would be as someone new to Airtable.
