*Original post has been updated to include a few more notes and screenshots*If you prefer working in the Airtable desktop app and wish you could create shortcuts that opened a base or interface in the desktop app instead of a browser window... I have somewhat of a workaround.The desktop app is essentially a web app. You'll be creating your own web app(s) using Safari 17 or higher. This method will require a Mac running Sonoma or Sequoia. Log into Airtable on Safari and navigate to the desired base or interface page that you want your web app to open to. I run a custom design build remodeling company. I have created a prototype of an estimating tool in excel, but it is too limited for our needs. I am wondering if Airtable is the answer. The estimating tool will tool will require several bases that could build one on another. -Common Items -Assemblies of items into unit costing -Gathering of unit costs with take off into estimated -Ability to gather, summarize and parse the costs by building div and type. We don’t need an estimating software to run the business; we have that in CoConstuct and other industry standard applications. We just need a place to store and access our custom data for estimating. I can provide a more detailed explanation and examples of the data sets and the needed output. We are interested in a developer who will work with us in a scrum framework. Here's something I created using automations with a script to allow me to get quick totals on any table view for specific values. I have 2 cases listed below and have found it to be a great way of collecting totals without having to create other linked records, rollups etc. Of course I have to hit the recalculate checkbox to get my total for each row, so it's not live, but I can live with that.  Also, you have to make sure your references are correctly spelled (Source Table, Source View, etc).  I hope others find it useful. Hello, Looking to create a system to track inventory, sales, expenses, events, and do accounting for a collectible trading card business.  I've created all the basic functionality and now want aStreamlined inventory management system that tracks multiple purchases and sales of the same items at different prices.Cards are sold at specific events and want to be able to track and run reports to show what sold where, and basic analytics.Do basic accounting (which is simple in excel, but challenging in airtable) and reports.Potentially connect inventory to an external data provider to push and pull lists and look at recent sales for price comps. For in person sales, have a form on an ipad for people to enter personal information to join our database. I'm sure there will be more past this, but here are the main hurdles.  Thank you,John

I'm building a database for students in college. So the main table has Student ID, Name, Course 1, Course 2, Course 3, and so on, up to the highest number of courses a student is taking. I then want to create individual tables for each row in the main table in which I could report on student's progress in their respective courses each semester. Eventually, I want a reporting table with progress updates from all students that I can sort using semesters to report on students' progress in different semesters.I thought this should be the easiest thing to do but I have not been able to accomplish it. Can anyone point me to a guide or explain the main steps to do so. What are the limitations to this approach and is there a better way to do so?

I'm trying to use the trigger function in Airtable to determine the webhooks module in Make.com, but it's not working. I'm using the paid versions of both Airtable and Make.com. Interestingly, the same functionality works perfectly on another page in Airtable. I have no idea what the issue could be. What should I check to resolve this problem? Please help me.

The automation currently we are using only works on new records. Is there any way to push the automation to run on existing records in the same table? Right now, when form received, it will create new record. Goal is when form received, it will auto fill out the existing records in the table. Appreciate your help. Thank you!
